Think That You Might Be Wrong(?)

I was loathe to join the “Happy Hour” group last night, I just wasn’t feeling ‘right’ if you know what I mean. Susan finally persuaded me to come outside and sit with everyone there. OMG…

Les’ son, Justin, was holding court. Most of the discussion centred on ‘things my father taught me when I was young.’ On its own, the discussion was informative. The fruit didn’t fall far from the tree. I said as much. Then the discussion turned a corner when Les brought his birth chart and analysis out for Justin to read. Curious, Justin started asking me questions about ‘life paths’ and destiny. It went on from there.

It didn’t take us long to realize that we were basically saying the same things, but using different starting points and different language. What got me was his emphatic way of speaking. It was challenging, to say the least. Normally, I don’t bring ALL my spirituals guns to a knife fight, but I felt I somehow had to justify my opinions. The discussion lasted an hour. Justin’s final argument was that the creation of the universe was no accident, no “Big Bang”. He sees the hand of a ‘creator’ at work. So, God exists and Jesus was his son, followed by the Holy Spirit as the third part of the trinity. In fact, Justin says that the three parts of the trinity remind us that everything has three components: body, mind and spirit; past, present and future; etc, etc, etc. I felt like I was watching myself in a mirror.
