Can Astrology Explain Why?

The Polar Express (October 13, 2004)

I knew something was up with this film. Taking its premiere date yielded this event chart:

There are two inconjuncts: one linking Venus and Neptune (my love of mystery); the other linking Jupiter and Uranus (my ‘rulers’). In the corner of my mind’s eye, I see Pluto in the Sagittarius 7th House.

When compared with my birth chart, the connections are clear (at least to me). The event Pluto is just over 1° from my Ascendant. The event Mars is about 1° from my Mars/South Node conjunction. The event Neptune is conjunct my natal Jupiter. The event Saturn is opposite my natal Mercury. And, lastly, the event Sun/Moon conjunction is conjunct my natal Neptune. Hmm.

So, that’s why The Polar Express is my favourite Christmas movie. Mystery solved.

Why, to the North Pole, of course! This is…

The Polar Express (2004)

This film was on the CBC, again, last night. It has become our perennial favourite.

Because it was originally produced as a 3D movie, there are a lot of precipitous rides involved. Even when viewed ordinarily, it makes for an adventure park experience. The unnamed Hero Boy, who started the journey as a doubter, ends up becoming a believer for the rest of his life.

In theatrical terms, that final 5 minutes to midnight lasted nearly the whole film, which demonstrates the timelessness of the storytelling. It also proves it was a vivid dream, one not easily forgotten.

Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can’t see.

IMDb

Our Hero needed the meaning of Christmas to work its magic on him.

Santa Claus: This bell is a wonderful symbol of the spirit of Christmas – as am I. Just remember, the true spirit of Christmas lies in your heart.

Ibid

Amen.

Grasping at Historical Straws?

Moses and Akhenaten

We are at the mercy of historical “experts”. They look for the obvious links between individuals from four thousand years ago. Akhenaten was the pharaoh who changed Egyptian religion from multiple gods to One God. Unfortunately, his life story took place about 100 years after the biblical Exodus. How do we know this? There’s an inscription on a rock that relates those ‘miraculous’ events to 1446 BCE.

Conflation may be the explanation, but so often we hope that some things are true, even when they cannot be, logically. Wishful thinking, yet again. It’s the equivalent of saying that Lincoln and Kennedy are the same person. In reality, these individuals were echoes in time.

There’s a Lot of Sleight-of-Hand Going On

Trump’s Epstein Deflection

Will it work? Maybe. Turning on defenceless fishing boats in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean has diverted attention away from the Epstein files. The idea that war crimes are being committed has become the next big thing. That’s Trump’s method of (hopefully) burying yesterday’s news.

:Hmm.

Let’s Stop for a Moment and Consider the Implications

Ego

We are watching a situation in the United States where one man’s ego is seemingly totally out of control.

If his ego is telling him that everyone is out to get him, then his reaction is to attack first to ward off the attack. He wants to be King in the story of his life; others want him to stop. Which side will win?

Hmm.

The Wizard of Oz as an Allegory for the U.S.A.

Dow Jones Industrial Average Falls (May 5, 1893)

You learn something new every day. Because it’s at the end of the 19th Century, you can be forgiven for not knowing this information. Check out this video:

Isn’t that wonderful?

This is the start time of the run on the stock exchange that day. The inconjuncts with Neptune/Pluto (and oppositions with the Sun/Venus and Jupiter) are mostly focused on Uranus @ 8° Scorpio. There is also an inconjunct linking Jupiter and Saturn. It’s an astrological snapshot of what can go wrong (if you’re a banker) and right (if you’re a farmer). When compared with Black Tuesday of 1929, there may be a correlation.

Do you see it?

The L. Frank Baum book was published in 1900. That makes the idea of an allegory of the Panic of 1893 very feasible. The Dust Bowl of the 1930’s was still a long way off, but the film coming out in 1939 made it all very timely. And then, WWII started! Coincidence? I think not.

This Christmas Film Brought Back Lots of Memories

THAT Christmas (2024)

We were visiting relatives yesterday, for an early seasonal visit. I was handed the magic viewing wand when Netflix was switched on the TV. (At least I had something to do.) The second film I chose was this little gem of an animated Christmas tale from the UK.

It sparked memories of my time in England: the school Christmas pantomime/concert; the trouble snow causes for winter driving; children being left to make their own fun while parents are away; and the community coming together when one child goes missing.

Oh, and British humour.

The Price of Food Increasing is a Sign of the End Times

Revelation 6:6

There was yet another dire warning on the news last night: food prices are predicted to rise again.

Here’s the whole quotation from Revelation 6:

The First Seal: The White Horse

1 Then I watched as the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!”

2 So I looked and saw a white horse, and its rider held a bow. And he was given a crown, and he rode out to overcome and conquer.

The Second Seal: War

3 And when the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”

4 Then another horse went forth. It was bright red, and its rider was granted permission to take away peace from the earth and to make men slay one another. And he was given a great sword.

The Third Seal: Famine

5 And when the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!”

Then I looked and saw a black horse, and its rider held in his hand a pair of scales. 6 And I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine.”

The Fourth Seal: Death

7 And when the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”

8 Then I looked and saw a pale green horse. Its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed close behind. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill by sword, by famine, by plague, and by the beasts of the earth.

The Fifth Seal: The Martyrs

9 And when the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony they had upheld. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge those who dwell upon the earth and avenge our blood?”

11 Then each of them was given a white robe and told to rest a little while longer until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers, were killed, just as they had been killed.

The Sixth Seal: Terror

12 And I watched as the Lamb opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black like sackcloth of goat hair, and the whole moon turned blood red, 13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth like unripe figs dropping from a tree shaken by a great wind. 14 The sky receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place.

15 Then the kings of the earth, the nobles, the commanders, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and free man hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 And they said to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb. 17 For the great day of Their wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it?”

Makes me wonder if our fates are sealed:

When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.

Revelation 8:1 (NIV)

If a thousand years is equivalent to the passing of a night in Heaven, how long is half-an-hour? Hmm.

I Sat on This Idea for Several Years Now

We Are Multidimensional Beings

The idea that we are not limited to this one time and this one space has fired my imagination to consider how a personality (ego) can actually be part of another personality (ego). My questioning of being in two bodies at the same time has been spurred by karmic astrology, especially when one body was in the final stages of life, and a new body was born to continue on that life’s work. Yes, Fenella, I’m talking about you.

I also have speculated about two different personalities collaborating to accomplish something, like John Dee and Edward Kelley. I have also questioned if two modern day friends could have been part of a past life, like Ramsay.

With our limited perspectives, we tend to think that these things are highly unlikely. But the only thing that is preventing ourselves from seeing the bigger picture is our own thinking.

The Universe is limitless and so are we.

The Secretary of War…

Pete Hegseth (June 6, 1980)

I’m curious: is he really as dumb as he appears to be to think we buy his lies, hook, line and sinker?

There’s one inconjunct, linking Mercury in the 7th House (of Open Enemies) to his Sagittarius Ascendant. Doesn’t bode well, does it? There’s also a Cosmic Cross linking the Sun opposition Pluto, and the Moon opposition Saturn. That’s quite telling.

Caribbean Boat Hit (September 2, 1980)

This timing is entirely random, and yet, this demonstrates a Yod (Finger of God) pointing to Mercury, with inconjuncts to a Saturn/Neptune conjunction on one side, and Pluto on the other. And, just for good measure, the Moon is inconjunct Venus. Hmm. This doesn’t surprise me, at all. The Trump Administration will try to argue that black is white, but they won’t succeed.
