Cheeko’s spirit?

In the autumn of 2003, I took some photos of Dianne with her daughters and grandson. She was celebrating a birthday, and it was my intention to record it on film. However, when the prints came back from processing, there were unexpected flares in three of the shots (two other pictures taken on the same day, but not at the same time, were clear). Was it a camera malfunction, or something else?

My mom died on the 13th of May 2003. She and Dianne used to get along famously (and I have the photographic proof of that). But we lived in Torquay, and the only way she and Dianne could talk was if we visited Canada, or she visited the UK. Otherwise, they wrote to each other.
In my opinion I think that Mom came to wish Dianne a “Happy Birthday” one last time. And the camera saw what we humans didn’t. Bless.

Susan’s daughter-in-law seems to be the only one who has ever captured my fun side.

Thank you, April, for all the great pictures through the years.
Laura and I shared the upper floor of a house on East Keith Road in North Vancouver for 5 months in 1984-85. She was studying photography, amongst other media topics at the time. I sat for her as a model for some of her ‘homework’.

Laura and I very recently reconnected after all these years on Facebook. Hi, Laura.
At the end of the Underground Railroad lived a community of people who had a strong faith. This is their church.
