
Doctor Zhivago
I’m almost finished reading this classic 20th Century novel. The overall impression I have is the use of the changing seasons to show the passage of time.
The movie by David Lean more or less followed the same tactic visually. But he seemed to concentrate on winter and spring, and not so much on summer and autumn.




Conclusion
Siberia and Canada have the same weather patterns. That’s what made the movie so spectacular for me. The words Boris Pasternak wrote tried to convey the same images in written form, but didn’t always succeed. I think it would be true to say:
