Robert Dempster Pretty (September 7, 1930 – June 14, 1988)
Robert is not a public figure, but his story is intrinsic to the Netflix film. His birth chart has been rectified to reflect losing his father at 4 years (Saturn) and his mother at 12 (Moon). Usually, these details are not so easily shown in a birth chart, hence my unstated question: Before he died in 1988, did Robert have his birth chart done?
As you can see, there are three inconjuncts:
Sun Inconjunct Uranus
There is a side of your personality that is very restless and impatient with rules, even when you know they are for your own good. You want very much to go your own way and do your own hing, even when you aren’t entirely sure that it is the right direction for you. So you rebel in subtle ways by having sudden fits of obstinacy and moods of feeling very contrary, especially to your parents or other authority figures.
Sometimes the energy of this aspect comes out in other ways as well. At times sudden upsets may occur in your life that totally alter your plans, so that you have to change course entirely. When this happens, you must learn to yield to the pressure and flow with the change. It may be difficult for you to realize it, but such an upset occurs because you have blocked much-needed changes in your life, or they have been denied you. However upsetting these changes are at first, they will give you the freedom you need to grow as an individual. Unfortunately, if you always wait for changes to come in this manner, they are likely to be very startling and unsettling. If you learn to assert your individuality more directly, the changes will not seem so upsetting.
Moon Inconjunct Mercury
As you grow older, you will have to learn o make your feelings and your reason work together. The problem is not so much that they come into conflict withe each others, but that your reason and feelings represent to very different sides of your personality. When you are calm and collected and able to reflect carefully, you make decisions in one way. But when you are emotionally involved in a situation, you are likely to make up your mind very differently, which could cause you to seem inconsistent to others and make it difficult for them to understand you.
For the same reasons, it may be hard for you to put your feelings into words, because your emotions are so different from your intellect. Of course, there is nothing really strange about your feelings, but that part of your mind is quite different from he reasoning part. In fact it would be very unfortunate if you decided to listen only to your reason, because your intuition and imagination. both of which are more related to the Moon, can be of great assistance to you. They can tell you much about the world that your reasoning mind cannot.
Moon Inconjunct Ascendant
You tend to put your own emotional needs and wants second to whatever you feel has to be done. In other words, you are likely to be more disciplined emotionally than most people your age. But this is not good if you feel that your emotional needs are not important. Your needs must be fulfilled as much as anyone else’s, particularly because your feelings are really very powerful within yourself.
This aspect also ties together in you a Moon sign and a rising sign that are very different. this indicates that the image you project to other people does not reveal very much about your real feelings. When you are upset, you surprise people by showing a totally different side of your personality. If you read the descriptions of your Ascendant sign and your Moon sign, you will see the differences between these two aspects of yourself.
There are very few glimpses of the young actor who played Robert as a 9-year-old in this film, but the script covers two important elements of his story: his upset at being unable to change the course of his mother’s illness; and his foresight into space being a future frontier for mankind. It is said that he followed the stars, both astronomically and astrologically. So I think the answer to my question would be a resounding “Yes!”
