Erwin Rommel (November 15, 1891 – October 14, 1944)

They called him “The Desert Fox”, mostly from his commanding the 7th Panzer (tank) division in North Africa during WWII for the Nazi War Machine. There are legends attached to his leadership style, but none of them may be true. Erwin Rommel was (and still is) an enigma.

I was highly suspicious of the 12 noon birth time, until I realized that the accuracy rating is AA, because someone had a copy of his birth certificate. But, I need to remind you, the birth clock is usually rounded up to the top of the hour, so we could have a slightly inaccurate time, by as much as half an hour either way.

However, since he was a soldier, I was looking for a connection between Mars and the Midheaven, and as it stands, they are connected in this chart as inconjuncts to the Moon, forming a Yod. Hmm.

Until you learn to handle your feelings, you are likely to get angry easily, have temper tantrums and be touchy about what is yours and what is not. You may feel you have to defend yourself against imagined threats. The problem here is that you are likely to become too emotionally involved with ideas, opinions or even objects without knowing it until someone threatens them. The you react as if you were being personally threatened or attacked. You have to realize that it is possible to change your opinions and attitudes without damaging your worth as a person.

Work very hard to develop an objective awareness of what you are doing and where you are going. You will need this understanding to guide your emotions, which might otherwise lead you astray and make it difficult for you to focus on your goals. Even though you won’t have to choose a career or purpose in life for many years, you can learn now to have good perception, which will make it easier to choose later on. Learn to see others’ points of view, even if you cannot accept them. Learn to make logical decisions, and do not let passing moods color your attitudes about yourself and your life too much.

The role that Rommel played in the military’s resistance against Hitler or the 20 July plot is difficult to ascertain, as most of the leaders who were directly involved did not survive and limited documentation on the conspirators’ plans and preparations exists. One piece of evidence that points to the possibility that Rommel came to support the assassination plan was General Eberbach’s confession to his son (eavesdropped on by British agencies) while in British captivity, which stated that Rommel explicitly said to him that Hitler and his close associates had to be killed because this would be the only way out for Germany. This conversation occurred about a month before Rommel was coerced into committing suicide.

This is another noon time chart, because the exact timing of his death is not known. It looks like a spur-of-the-moment decision but allowed Rommel to die a hero, instead of a disgraced traitor. The ‘fatal’ conjunction of the Moon and Jupiter is the proof of that, in T-square with Uranus @ 13° Gemini and the Ascendant @ 20° Sagittarius.

The official notice of Rommel’s death as reported to the public stated that he had died of either a heart attack or a cerebral embolism—a complication of the skull fractures he had suffered in the earlier strafing of his staff car. To strengthen the story, Hitler ordered an official day of mourning in commemoration of his death. As promised, Rommel was given a state funeral but it was held in Ulm instead of Berlin as had been requested by Rommel. Hitler sent Field Marshal Rundstedt (who was unaware that Rommel had died as a result of Hitler’s orders) as his representative to the funeral. The truth behind Rommel’s death became known to the Allies when intelligence officer Charles Marshall interviewed Rommel’s widow, Lucia Rommel, as well as from a letter by Rommel’s son Manfred in April 1945.
