Donald J. Trump
By now, everyone is familiar with the man who is the 45th President of the United States (POTUS). And yet, despite thousands of newspaper column inches and hundreds of television hours devoted to analyzing his every move, do we really understand him?
Other Astrologers have looked at his chart, and yet only yesterday did I actually ‘see’ what is motivating him. Most of it will be ‘old hat’ to the public in general, but there is a surprising payoff to this exercise. And I will wait until the end to reveal it.

Sun Opposition Moon
You will learn to understand yourself through opposition to the world and other people, perhaps in good-hearted competition with friends, perhaps through fighting. The form of your opposition is up to you. You are likely to ask friends what they think of you or of something you have done, because you want to get outside your own personal point of view and see what others see. This does not mean, however, that you are always willing to make your ideas agree with other people’s. On the contrary, you usually fight for what you believe to be right. But you want to know what others feel, because it gives you a necessary perspective.
Sun Conjunct Uranus
You are quite impulsive and like to do everything your own way, when and how you want. If you do not get your own way, you may feel quite frustrated and angry, although you are not likely to lose your temper. Instead you will be disruptive and rebellious in subtle ways. If someone tries to make you move in a certain direction, you will probably move in the opposite direction. You hate to be restricted in your movements or subjected to any kind of force. Your need for freedom is very strong, but unless you learn some self-discipline, you will never finish any project you start. You will do everything halfway. However, if you build your own system of discipline instead of trying to work with the discipline imposed by others, you will do quite well. You are not opposed to acting in an orderly manner, only to doing what someone else dictates.
Sun Trine Jupiter
This is one of the most favorable aspects in a natal chart for most people. It means you have a good disposition and a cheerful nature, and usually you have good relations with others. You are likely to have good luck and fortune as well, although by itself this is not a sign of wealth. However, your optimism can create wealth simply because you think and act positively. Usually someone with this aspect has no feeling of not having enough; even if you have only a little, that is all you want.
Moon Trine Mars
You have a very great need to be yourself and to express your emotions exactly as you feel them without holding anything back. If you feel happy, you express it joyously to everyone, and if you feel sad or angry, you express that very clearly as well. You are honest about your feelings, and you don’t keep people in the dark about your reactions to anything. Actually this honesty will make people respect you, because they know that in this way they can trust you.
Moon Inconjunct Saturn
This aspect means that your need for emotional security conflicts with your need to live with the world’s demands. Each of us needs to be accepted and loved for what we are, in order to have enough self-confidence to deal with the world. But we also have to learn to live with our own life situations in order to survive. In other words, we have to realize that we can’t have everything we want. With this aspect, these two needs are working against each other. Probably you will satisfy one of them at the expense of the other.
Moon Opposition Uranus
This aspect may mean that your emotions are very changeable. But it can also mean that you don’t really trust the people you rely on for support and care. You may feel that your mother, for example, is emotionally distant, or that she is not there when you need her. Probably she is trying to pursue her own interests in life, which you can’t quite accept, feeling perhaps that she does not love you enough. This is not usually the case, but it will affect the way you feel about other people whom you are very fond of. You often feel insecure with them, fearing that they will not be there for support when you need it.
Mars in Leo
You have a great deal of pride, and you enjoy doing things on your own initiative. An appeal to your sense of fairness brings out the best in you, and you will do anything to maintain these qualities. If you know that someone is relying on you, you work very hard to live up to that person’s expectations. On the other hand, you are sometimes quite touchy about your sense of dignity. If someone makes fun of you or says something sarcastic, you get very angry and feel that you have to prove your worth to them. At times you may act arrogant and domineering towards others. You can’t always be first, but you have such a need to be a leader that it may be difficult for you to accept anyone else in this role.
Mars in the Twelfth House
You may often be afraid to assert yourself because you feel defeated, and you are sure that any effort is futile. It is quite likely that you will express this by feeling tired all the time. Your attitude may have resulted from being with people who haven’t encourage you very much, especially when you were very young. You must build up your self-confidence and disregard anyone who makes you feel bad about yourself. You tend to work in secret and to act behind people’s backs, which you should try to avoid. Your lack of self-confidence makes you so afraid of direct action that you do everything indirectly. Even as an adult, you may prefer to be someone who works behind the scenes.
Mars Conjunct Ascendant
You are strong-willed, and people quickly realize that you are not someone to trifle with. You have all the classic qualities of Mars — self-reliance, courage and daring, personal aggressiveness and independence. You need to have complete control over your own life, but there is a danger that you will be too quarrelsome and domineering.
You like to be the center of attention, to appear strong, confident and dominant, even if something is bothering you. Your pride is so important that even when your feelings are hurt badly, you may act as if nothing is wrong.
You like to be the leader, and you can be a good one as long as you remember that leadership is a responsibility as well as power and privilege. If you feel that people are dealing with you fairly, you conduct yourself with dignity and honor. Other people may do cheap or dishonest things, but ordinarily you will not go along.
I was amazed by the synchronicity in “The Donald” and “Young One‘s” charts: they both have Mars in the 12th House Conjunct their Ascendants. This means they both have an insecurity that makes them act the way they do. The individual focus may be different, but the effect is the same: they both just want to be loved.
Someone asked me, “How can they be defeated?” I answered, “There is no need to defeat them; they have balanced each other out on the world stage.”
So, people we can all sleep safely in our beds tonight.
