Avalanche, Klosters, Switzerland (March 10, 1988)

They say that you must never look back. But Netflix has brought this event into clear focus again in “The Crown”.
In the show, Charles has flash-backs of the accident and describes how empty and pointless his life and his marriage has been to that point in time. He probably thought he was going to die. That can help you focus on the important things in your life. It obviously did for Diana, too, since she wanted to make a go of their marriage.
Charles just wanted Camilla.

Mars Inconjunct Ascendant
The difficulty with this aspect is to find a balance between getting what you want in life and getting along with others. More than most people, you will have to learn the necessity of compromising to get along with people, especially because you often seem more aggressive than you are. While you are young, the need to compromise may be frustrating, because youth is a time when your own needs seem especially urgent and demanding. At times you may feel that nothing is going your way, that you continually have to give in to others and put your own wishes aside. However, it is not really this bad. You do not actually have to compromise any more than anyone else, but you are more reluctant to do so.
Neptune Inconjunct Ascendant
This aspect can be a sign that you feel you must give way to others in order to get along with them. This can take two forms, both of which will be difficult to handle while you are young. The less positive form is simply yielding to all outside pressure and always give in to others’ desires. This will produce unconscious feelings of resentment that you can’t express, but that make your relationships with others rather difficult. And as you get older, if you do not learn to stand yo for your rights, this problem will get worse, because you express your unconscious resentment as a martyred attitude, which makes it impossible for others to appreciate or use anything they get from you. Thus the results of your sacrifice are totally negative, because you are not happy with giving and they are not happy with receiving.
Mars Conjunct Neptune
The main problem with this aspect is that you tend to get discouraged. You do not have as much energy as other people, usually not because you are physically weak but because you are too easily discouraged by opposition from persons or circumstances. You are not a very aggressive person. It is not that you are especially shy or reluctant to assert yourself, but you feel sure that in a direct confrontation with someone, you will lose. More than most people, you need abundant support and encouragement from your parents. If they are excessively critical or unsupportive, it will have a very negative effect on you.
The danger is that if this tendency to be discouraged is not checked, you may develop a defeatist attitude toward life. Or what is worse, you may assert yourself in underhanded ways so that no one can see what you are doing and try to stop you.
Do these not seem to be describing Charles? It is almost as if he summoned the avalanche to sweep his old life away. Remember, there are no ‘accidents’.
A Second Chance

In the ‘event’ chart, Pluto is just beginning to be in opposition to Venus, in a T-square with Leo Rising. You might recall that Charles’ birth chart has Leo Rising, as well. The other link-ups are visible, too. And it is valuable to remember that Pluto is in Charles’ 1st House in his natal chart. It’s the point of his existence: to change the rules. The avalanche’s Pluto is inconjunct to Charles’ Midheaven, his future career.
Mission accomplished, I would say.
