Fountain International Magazine

FEBRUARY-2014-FC1

Magazine Cover from December 2014

When Fountain International was first formed, they offered a magazine every four months for a small annual subscription. You didn’t have to ‘belong’ to Fountain, since there was no ‘membership’ as such. The magazine subscription list was the closest indication of how many were participating in “A Few Moments of Your Time Each Day” meditation work.

I had the honour of working on a few of these magazines in the early 90’s. But at some point, the impulse to produce the three-times-a-year publication fizzled out.

Suzanne Thomas has been working on the front lines, and behind the scene, for Fountain for a great many years. Her part of the story is contained in Who’d Have Thought It. She is an unsung heroine. She has quietly been republishing Colin Bloy’s writings to keep his work in front of the eyes of the world.

The latest Colin Bloy book she’s produced is I’m Just Going Down to the Pub to Do a Few Miracles. It’s a faithful reproduction of his original book from the early 90’s.

When Suzanne and I got back in touch after a number of years, she mentioned that she’d relaunched the magazine in an on-line format. She suggested at the time that I do a chart for the relaunch. I must have been busy at the time, because I let the impulse slide.

Now, with my recent activity involving one of Colin’s past lives, I thought that perhaps the time had come to see what energies were in play at the time.

These days I’m concentrating on Inconjuncts. This chart has two:

Mercury Inconjunct Uranus

Your mind moves quickly from topic to topic, often without pausing long enough for you to understand what you have learned. And if there is a lot of excitement or activity around you, your mind may race so fast to keep up with it all that you work yourself into a state of nervous frenzy. Under these circumstances it is almost impossible for you to concentrate or do any useful work.

As you get older, you will have to learn to discipline your mind so that you can think things through. It’s all right to be somewhat restless, but you must learn to stay put during school and at other times when it is important to concentrate.

On the other hand, you are quite inventive. You can see solutions to problems quicker than most, and you may be good at designing. Model building and other activities that develop your design sense and ability to see in three dimensions would be very useful. Also these exercises would help you learn to concentrate. In school you may excel at mathematics and science, as long as you can learn to sit still long enough to learn the subject.

This aspect might mean that you have nervous problems, such as a tendency to get exhausted or a sensitive disposition that requires a very calm environment in order to prevent further problems. In any case, your parents should keep you away from situations that will make you overexcited.

Mars Inconjunct Ascendant

The difficulty with this aspect is to find a balance between getting what you want in life and getting along with others. More than most people, you will have to learn the necessity of compromising to get along with people, especially because you often seem more aggressive than you are. While you are young, the need to compromise may be frustrating, because youth is a time when your own needs seem especially urgent and demanding. At times you may feel that nothing is going your way, that you continually have to give in to others and put your own wishes aside. However, it is not really this bad. You do not actually have to compromise any more than anyone else, but you are more reluctant to do so.

Learn to work for the good of others by making their objectives your objectives, whenever possible. This aspect can signify the ability to accomplish a great deal, as long as you do not spend all your time and energy feeling angry or resentful about seemingly undeserved defeats. When you have a real goal to work toward that you can share with others, you will be able to attain that goal.

Pluto in the Chart

I see that Pluto is in the First House. This gives the chart a certain dynamic that is unmistakable and significant.

Pluto in the First House

You are a very intense person who takes almost everything seriously. If an activity isn’t important enough to warrant throwing your whole self into, you feel it isn’t worth doing. You tend to go to extremes, which may make other people uneasy. You have to understand that others are afraid of experiences that you find interesting…

Conclusion

Please understand that these descriptions above are not discussing an individual, as in a person or thing, but a process that requires the production of a 36-40 page magazine every three months. It’s a lot of work, and the work is important, so Suzanne actually has no real time to do much else, except work on the Magazine and the Monthly Newsletter.

And Suzanne finances the whole enterprise. So donations would be gratefully received at Fountain International Magazine.
