The Ed Sullivan Show (February 9, 1964)
Obviously, I’ve written about this event before, in my ebook “At This Point in Time”. But, when I first looked at the chart, I was not focused on inconjuncts and the hidden agendas captured therein.
This took place on my 14th birthday. Since we didn’t have a television at the time, I watched the show on the neighbour’s living room TV through my bedroom window, in black ‘n’ white.
That Yod, pointing at Jupiter (the planet of Expansion) in Aries, is formed by two inconjuncts, Neptune in Scorpio and Pluto in Virgo. Unconsciously, that is the reason I originally considered naming this chart “The Beatles Conquer the USA.” The Americans didn’t stand a chance against their combined charm offensive. But there is one more inconjunct to consider: Mercury and the Midheaven.
Mercury Inconjunct Midheaven
It is very important that you develop your mind and your powers of thought, so that you can use them to attain whatever objectives you set for yourself. However, before you can accomplish this, you may have to solve certain problems. You may feel that there is a tension between your natural spontaneous views and what is taught by your parents and other adults. Even though their teachings seem perfectly reasonable, you want to think matters through for yourself. When you are older you may express this tension by making indiscreet remarks that totally get in the way of your objectives. (Such as, John Lennon’s “We are more popular than Jesus.”)
Jupiter Inconjunct Neptune
You are an idealist with very vivid dreams about how you want your life to be, and at certain times in your life you will follow those dreams with all your energy. But sometimes these idealistic dreams will let you down, because you are not concerned enough with what is real and possible.
Your idealism can be the source of much creative imagination, leading to profound insights and realizations, but only if you remain connected with the actual day-to-day universe in which the rest of the human race lives.
Jupiter Inconjunct Pluto
You have a great deal of creative power, and the major challenge of your life will be learning how to handle it. First of all, you must realize that you will get the most out of life if you direct your energies toward helping the people around you and those you love. You will want to change many conditions in the world, which is fine as long as your reasons are not purely selfish ones.
This Event is Karmically Linked to George
All the Beatles’ charts are on my computer program. I decided to look at them together with this event, individually. Only one seemed to be fully connected to it, astrologically.
I remember in my original post about the event that I identified the Beatles individually with the planets. That’s where I got the first inklings of describing George as the Mystic. But only now do I see how spot on that idea was in response to combining his chart with the event chart. George’s Neptune is (almost) exactly conjunct the event Ascendant @ 1° Libra. A-ha!
At the same time, George’s Venus and the event Venus are opposite that position @ 29° Pisces. George’s South Node @ 24° Aquarius, is at the end of the conjunction of the event Sun, Mars and Saturn, which is opposite the event Part of Fortune. The event Midheaven is about 3° from George’s Part of Fortune. Do you see what I mean? It was the moment George became visible.
