Suddenly, This Old Meme is Back Again:

But Who Wins?

During World War II, both sides of the conflict thought they had God on their side. Still, one side won and the other lost. Hasn’t anyone learned the lesson, yet? Thinking that you are doing God’s will but not truly being divinely inspired is a fool’s errand. That’s why wars get fought. Does God really want that?

That is why Bob Dylan wrote a song about it:

There were more lyrics than these few verses:

With God On Our Side

Song by

Bob Dylan

Oh, my name, it ain’t nothin’, my age, it means less
The country I come from is called the Midwest
I’s taught and brought up there, the laws to abide
And that the land that I live in has God on its side

Oh, the history books tell it, they tell it so well
The cavalries charged, the Indians fell
The cavalries charged, the Indians died
Oh, the country was young with God on its side

The Spanish-American War had its day
And the Civil War too was soon laid away
And the names of the heroes I was made to memorize
With guns in their hands and God on their side

The First World War, boys, it came and it went
The reason for fightin’ I never did get
But I learned to accept it, accept it with pride
For you don’t count the dead when God’s on your side

The Second World War came to an end
We forgave the Germans, and then we were friends
Though they murdered six million, in the ovens they fried
The Germans now too have God on their side

I learned to hate the Russians all through my whole life
If another war comes, it’s them we must fight
To hate them and fear them, to run and to hide
And accept it all bravely with God on my side

But now we’ve got weapons of chemical dust
If fire them we’re forced to, then fire them we must
One push of the button and they shot the world wide
And you never ask questions when God’s on your side

Through many dark hour I been thinkin’ about this
That Jesus Christ was betrayed by a kiss
But I can’t think for you, you’ll have to decide
Whether Judas Iscariot had God on his side

So now as I’m leavin’, I’m weary as hell
The confusion I’m feelin’ ain’t no tongue can tell
The words fill my head, and they fall to the floor
That if God’s on our side, he’ll stop the next war

Amen.

This One Word Sparked a Succession of Ideas:

Panspermia

As you’ve seen over the last 10 years, one idea with me leads to another. Most of the time, in the past, I relied upon finding books that did the connection of dots for me. Now, YouTube provides my prompts.

Yesterday, I watched a video by Justin Sledge on his Esoterica channel. It was discussing how the Tree of Life (the Kabbalah) became ‘real’. The Ein Sof had what can only be describe as a ‘flash of inspiration’. But the text from which Justin was discussing this idea made it sound like something ‘auto-erotic’. Hmm.

Now, since forever, it seems, I have thought of the Universe as God’s Body, with the stars and planets as atoms and molecules. But I’d never made the leap to the fact that our physical chakra system is a mirror image of God’s. Maybe that’s why we were made in God’s ‘image’. It does take too much imagination to understand the rest, following this line of thinking.

The past link in this line of thinking was a short video from Aaron Abke in which he suggested that the rising of the Kundalini (feminine) energy is the result of sperm not being ejaculated but ‘swallowed’ by the male. This seemed a bit too masculine oriented for my liking, but that’s the way these things go. Women have always been closer to the truth. It’s the men who need to find a way to catch up.

That’s probably why there was a prohibition against “spilling your seed” as the Old Testament words it.

8Then Judah said to Onan, “Sleep with your brother’s wife. Perform your duty as her brother-in-law and raise up offspring for your brother.” 9But Onan knew that the offspring would not belong to him; so whenever he would sleep with his brother’s wife, he would spill his seed on the ground so that he would not produce offspring for his brother. 10What he did was wicked in the sight of the LORD, so He put Onan to death as well.…

Genesis 38:8-10

OK. You’ve got my attention, now, Lord. And, yes, I have had that experience in my middle 30’s.

The word panspermia contains the term ‘sperm’. How’s that for planting a seed?

In Political Cycles:

Essentially when you have a dominant two party system, each side wants what it wants and doesn’t like what the other side likes. That’s one of the reasons that in democracies, elections produce a flip-flop switch of parties which changes back and forth over time. It’s the Universes way of creating the middle way.

Every election becomes a make-or-break situation for the left (liberal) and right (conservative). It seems that each time one side ‘wins’ the other side ‘sulks’. Even a third party candidate doesn’t get any traction because the party lines are so entrenched. In the UK, the Lib-Dems could never hold power. In Canada, it’s the New Democratic Party. In the States, even someone as divisive as RFK Jr would fail to make any headway. And don’t get me started on fringe political parties. They just take votes away from other candidates, even when they support Green issues.

So, what’s a body to do? Withholding or defacing your vote might seem to be a protest that you could adopt, but, it’s a fool’s game. If one side is more to your liking than the other, get out and vote for your chosen party, even if they don’t offer you everything your want.

And, as always, be careful what you wish for.

I Have a VP Candidate in Mind for the Democrats

JK4

Mark Kelly (February 21, 1964)

I’m really not in the business of predictions and prophecy, although at times it might seem otherwise. Last Sunday, when Kamala Harris was thrust into the Presidential race by President Biden, I looked at the frontrunners of who could be her running mate. I chose Mark Kelly. Call it instinct, call it inspired.

As his birth time is unknown, I rectified the chart to place Venus at age 43, when he married Gabby Giffords. Just look at that dynamic! Three inconjuncts, two of which would still exist with a different birth time. And the incidental conjunction between Pluto and his Virgo Ascendant should make the Republicans very nervous. This man could outgun Trump and Vance combined, all on his own.

Venus Inconjunct Pluto

With this aspect you must learn a great deal about the kinds of friends you want and the kinds of experiences you will have through other people. Even while you are still young, you may meet persons who are quite difficult to get along with, but who seem to be impossible to get away from, even when you want to. You may be fascinated by such persons, or circumstances may force you to stay with them. These people do have a definite role to play in your life, but it may not always be a pleasant one. They will teach you something about life or about yourself.

Planets in Youth (page 206) by Robert Hand (1977)

Venus Inconjunct Ascendant (perhaps)

You often feel that you haven’t any right to ask much of those whom you love. You feel that you must do favors for them instead of asking for their help. For you, love is an act of service, not self-gratification. Also, through relationships with others, you try to learn more about your own and other people’s inner workings. For this reason your relationships are more deep and profound than most people’s. But they are somewhat difficult, too. You may feel unsure that others will like you or accept your affection. This is one reason why you express your love by doing nice things for people. You are trying to win them over.

Ibid (page 209)

Jupiter Inconjunct Neptune

You are an idealist with very vivid dreams about how you want your life to be, and at certain times in your life you will follow those dreams with all your energy. But sometimes these idealistic dreams will let you down, because you are not concerned enough with what is real and possible. Yet learning to handle the real world is a very important part of your development, because it is the only way you can avoid becoming bitter and disillusioned when your more impractical ideas have led you into disappointment.

Ibid (page 269)

By combining Kelly’s chart with Harris’ we are able to see how they will get on, and where there strengths and their weaknesses are.

Kelly’s Moon is conjunct Harris’ Ascendant. They will be in sync. Because they’re born in the same year, the slower moving planets will all be conjunct, starting at Saturn and working through to Pluto. Therefore their long-term goals will be the same.

Again, let’s see how Kamala Harris’ instinct kicks in. Will she choose Mark Kelly? We shall see.

Would You Believe IVF is Now 46 Years Old?

Louise Brown (July 25, 1978)

Doesn’t time fly! With all the hoo-ha going on in the United States over women’s reproductive rights, it’s timely to look back at the birth of the first ‘test-tube’ baby. I wonder if her birth chart will tell the tale.

The timing of this chart was already on my computer program. Strange that it should be just 13 minutes before midnight. I write ‘strange’ because this child was delivered by C-section. It implies that the birth may have been difficult for the mother (an understatement, for sure: Moon in the 12th House).

There are no inconjuncts. The most interesting aspect is a close conjunction between Mercury and Saturn in Leo. Notice, too, that 29° figures strongly in her chart.

Mercury Conjunct Saturn

Something about the quality of your mind makes you seem older than you are. There is a serious side to your personality, and you are attracted to subjects that are usually of interest only to adults. Whatever you study must seem important to the whole world, not just to you personally. For this reason, you may prefer talking with people who are older, and you may judge yourself by adult standards.

Planets in Youth (page 162) by Robert Hand (1977)

Or, to put it another way, her birth may have caused a lot of intense interest by scientists, politicians and clergy the world over. That’s one way to make your mark.

And Just in Case You Missed It:

Vincent Fusca at the Rally when Trump’s Attempted Assassination Happened

Yes, you read that correctly: Vincent Fusca was there, right behind Trump on July 13th.

Hmm.

What Goes Round Comes Around Again

LBJ and Joe Biden

People keep referring back to the time that Lyndon Baines Johnson stated that he would not run for a second term as President in 1968. He came to this decision on his own, but he was responding to external pressures of the office. Joe Biden’s version was due to being pressured by his own party.

It’s informative to look at their ‘event’ charts together. There is an interactive Yod focused on Johnson’s broadcast Ascendant of 0° Scorpio. Biden’s event has Mars @ 0° Gemini and Neptune @ 29° Pisces 50′. This is as close to perfect timing as is possible in astrology. The inconjunct aspects speak for themselves. Biden’s Saturn is conjunct Johnson’s Mercury/Venus conjunction in Pisces. Biden’s Mercury is conjunct Johnson’s Jupiter in Leo. Biden’s North Node is conjunct Johnson’s Sun. This is the Democrats needing to atone for the past. They chose Hubert H. Humphrey for their presidential candidate and that allowed Richard M. Nixon to gain the White House that November.

Let’s hope it turns out better this time around.

How Well Have I Learned My Lessons?

Today is the day that has been waiting since my birth 74 years ago. My North Node returns to the same position it held when I was born. So, I’m asking the question that is the title of this post.

Because these things are linked, I’m hoping that I’ve learned my lessons well. What say you?

It’s Been a Long Time Since I’ve Done This

Buddy (our new Chihuahua) wanted to go outside. For almost an hour, we sat out front, watching the bees and butterflies. I feel so relaxed now. Wow.

Sometimes the Pressure Gets to be Too Much

Biden Withdraws (July 21, 2024)

People mock astrology as some kind of hocus-pocus pseudo-science. It’s more than that (obviously).

Here is the moment that Joseph Biden withdrew from the race:

Today’s full Moon in Capricorn (earlier this morning) would have been augmented when it joined Pluto in the early degrees of Aquarius. The decision may have been made then. It took until 1:46 pm EDT before the message was sent out. Note that the Part of Fortune is @ 6° Taurus 47′, conjunct the Descendant.

I mention that point, because it will become obvious when I compare this chart to Biden’s birth chart:

See what I mean? Biden’s natal Part of Fortune is @ 6° Taurus 37′. How’s that for spooky? In reality, given his advancing age and the rigors of the campaign trail, his ‘fortune’ is to get out before it all goes wrong. (And, looking at the rest of the ‘triggers’ it is a good thing to do it for the right reasons.)

After all, we wouldn’t want some depressed Republican to choose his head for more target practice.
