Who are You Calling an “Unfaithful Lover”?

J.D. Vance (August 2, 1984)

I guess it’s time to look at the ‘other’ Presidential ticket. Trump chose J.D. Vance on a whim, it seems. At the time, it appeared to be a doubling down on the MAGA side of life, in order to oust the ‘old man’, President Biden, but that back-fired spectacularly when Biden outmaneuvered the Republicans by stepping back and pushing his VP, Kamala Harris, forward as the Democrat candidate.

I’m not confident this is Vance’s true birth time, but I did rectify his chart to show when he married (Venus) @ 30 years of age, As a result, there is only one inconjunct and it is totally time dependent.

Mercury Inconjunct Ascendant

You are likely to have some problems, but not serious ones, in communicating with others. The problem is that people’s first impression of you may not fit in with what you say or your manner of thinking and speaking. People tend to hear what they expect to hear, and they may not listen to you as carefully as they should. So you will have to be as clear as possible and insist that others listen to what you are really saying. If others do not understand you, it is up to you to set them straight.

Planets in Youth (page 175) by Robert Hand (1977)

Hmm. Even if we cannot rely upon the correctness of his birth time, this aspect seems applicable.

Trump and Vance

One picture is worth a thousand words

In the interests of playing fair to both sides of the political divide, I have combined the two candidates charts to see what makes them tick. There are three interactive inconjuncts, two of which form a Yod pointing at Vance’s Uranus. The inconjuncts are connected to Trump’s Mercury and Midheaven. The other inconjunct links Vance’s Mars and Trump’s Sun. Hmm.

There are two close conjunctions between them, and both spell trouble in Paradise. Vance’s Sun is conjunct Trump’s Pluto (in Trump’s 12th House of the Unconscious), and Trump’s Mars is conjunct Vance’s Venus (in Trump’s 1st House of Personality). All four are in Leo. This is going to be a volatile relationship, no matter how they try to spin it. In a Tarot reading that Ellie Dreams Down Under posted today on her YouTube channel, the final card was described as the “unfaithful lover” which made me laugh. Ellie thought that it might be the MAGA voters that were the fickle ones, but the Venus/Mars connection between these two makes me wonder…

Buddy had a Visit from His Cousins, Scarlet and Sparkles

Lady Scarlet and her owner, Marianne
Lady Sparkles (as a Gremlin, before adding water)

Buddy hasn’t seen his cousins for almost three weeks. He lived with them for six weeks before he came to live with us. He remembers them well.

We’re hoping they will come often to visit him. He loves to play with dogs his own size. (All photos courtesy of Susan.)

Here’s the VP that Harris Chose:

Tim Walz (April 6, 1964)

Well, he wouldn’t have been my first choice, but then I’m not running for the Presidency of the United States, am I? Lots of strategic thinking has gone into Harris’ decision, I’m sure, but did they ask an astrologer? I doubt it.

I randomized the timing of his birth chart to as close as possible to when I heard that he had been chosen. It’s interesting that the North Node is conjunct his Ascendant in Cancer. But, as this is accidental, I shouldn’t expect too much of that coincidence. He has two inconjuncts, neither of which are dependent on an exact time of birth.

Sun Inconjunct Neptune

You are very sensitive to your environment and to the people around you. On one level of your being, you feel what is going on very acutely. Unfortunately your understanding often comes in terms that are very difficult to communicate to others, because their meaning is not clear in your own mind. Your greatest danger is in being exposed to negative people who are full of anger or depression or who act very harshly toward you and undermine your self-confidence. Your self-confidence has to be boosted at every conceivable opportunity, and it would be very destructive for you to be criticized sharply, unless the person has made it very clear that he or she loves you.

Planets in Youth (page 92) by Robert Hand (1977)

Mars Inconjunct Uranus

You have a tendency to be rash and impulsive, which may get in your way. If matters proceed too slowly, you are likely to make a sudden move that upsets the whole situation and forces you to start over again. You must learn to be patient if you want to achieve your objectives.

This energy may also be expressed as a hot temper, especially when you have to endure restriction or limitation. You have a rebellious streak that needs to be disciplined, because everyone has to endure some restrictions, and it takes so little to trigger your temper.

Ibid (pages 233-4)

OK. This doesn’t bode well for debates during the election cycle, and it doesn’t bode well for his becoming President if Harris wins and then has to step down for any reason. (I’m not suggesting that it could happen, I’m just allowing the concept of his presidency to sink into your understanding.)

I suppose the strongest link between Harris and Walz is that his Jupiter is conjunct her Moon. As I’ve pointed out previously, her Saturn is conjunct the Moon’s position in the United States of America’s chart, which is totally necessary if she is meant to succeed as President. Again, the slower planets (Saturn through Pluto) are aligned within 7° (at widest) between them. They will work as one unit, but Walz may have his own agenda when it comes to the faster personal planets. At any rate, we shall see.

Maybe Kamala is building much bigger Walz against Trump and Vance. What’s in a name, anyway?

English is Such a Challenging Language:

Homophones

At 5:00 am today I was awake, as I usually am, every day. I said a little prayer asking for a hint about today’s post (here). Two words sprang into my mind: pleas and please. Their juxtaposition put me in mind of the song “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. We send out pleas to the Lord and hope that our actions please Him. Interesting.

So, that thought presented me with another pair of homophones: freeze and frees. And then another pair: seize and sees. I could go on and on, but I think you get the gist. For every secular word, there is another with a more spiritual tone, the secret chord…

This Film is (Loosely) Based on a 1924 Chicago Murder

Murder by Numbers (2002)

As someone mentioned after we watched this on Saturday night, “That is one messed up story.” For sure. But, in the echo chamber of my mind, I remembered something that wasn’t actually stated, but had a similar ‘feel’ to it. Wasn’t there a case about this in the distant past?

The subtext is a sense of gay love. It’s not expressly stated, but one character’s girlfriend asked the question, “Did Richard seduce you? He seduced me.” Hmm. That got me to thinking about the supposed motive (a lark) and the actual purpose of the murder: to cement their relationship. So, I looked up the genesis of the story.

Leopold and Loeb

Nathan Leopold (November 19, 1904) and Richard Loeb (July 11, 1905)

Yes, even the actors had a passing resemblance to the original murderers. So much for fiction, eh?

Both their charts were already on my computer program, so I’ve combined them to see what their dynamic was, in reality.

There is one double Yod, pointing at Leopold’s Mercury. The inconjuncts come from Loeb’s Venus/Midheaven conjunction and his natal Neptune. (Because of their closeness of birth – 7 months apart – their placements of Neptune are very close @ 7° Cancer. Leopold’s Neptune is retrograde, while Loeb’s is not, so Loeb would have been the driver of this action.) Also, Leopold’s “purpose” was intellectual only, while Loeb’s was more emotional. They thought they could perform the ‘perfect’ murder (by the numbers) and get away with it. But it was not meant to be.

Something for Your Consideration:

The Battle Between Good and Evil

It pains me to admit it, but I also think that Go(o)d is on my side, but I’m a Gnostic Christian, so the terminology is relative. In the recent attempt on DJT’s life, the ones who want to be rid of him came very close to getting their way. But it didn’t happen, in the end, so what does that mean?

Did you ever wonder why Templar Churches (and other ‘spiritual’ spaces) have a black and white checkerboard pattern on the floor? It was a recognition that we live in a binary world. (Do you see how the information has been passed down to us, but in a cryptic form?) Literally, we cannot have one without the other. Anyway, EVIL is LIVE in reverse. Think about it…

This next image is one I’ve used before:

That’s me in the corner, that’s me in the spotlight; I’m losing my religion.

Amen.

The End of Another Illustrious Career in Broadcasting

Huw Edwards (August 18, 1961)

I was going to name this post, “The Huw and Cry Over WhatsApp Photos,” but thought better of it.

There are four inconjuncts, three of which form a (double) Yod pointing at Saturn. This life was never going to be an easy ride, no matter what the outside world thought.

Sun Inconjunct Saturn

You will have to learn the difference between having self-control and discipline, on the one hand, and totally denying yourself any self-expression, on the other. This aspect can mean that you feel extremely unworthy, which undermines your self-confidence and makes it hard to face obstacles in life with confidence and determination.

Planets in Youth (page 86) by Robert Hand (1977)

Mercury Inconjunct Jupiter

You like to think big, and you have great ambitions, but you don’t always make sure that your thinking is clear or careful. When you make any kind of plan, be careful. Don’t try to take on more than you can handle and make sure not to overlook details, for that could hurt what you are trying to do.

Ibid (page 161)

Saturn Inconjunct Uranus

This aspect indicates a serious tension in your life between freedom and restriction. Many people have this conflict, but in your case the tensions may be so severe that you express them physically as muscle tension and possibly nervousness. You feel that somehow you must keep everything in your life under tight control, that if you let go, the whole structure will fall apart.

Ibid (page 294)

Saturn Inconjunct Ascendant

On occasion this aspect indicates frail physical health, which can be corrected only by paying a great deal of attention to hygiene, personal health habits and proper diet. However, this aspect may also suggest that you worry too much about your health. Try not to be too concerned about it unless a physician has diagnosed a definite problem.

Ibid (page 303)

I don’t mean to kick a man while he’s down, so I’ll just add a video about his guilty plea yesterday.

I Didn’t See This Until I Viewed the Card Upside Down

Tarot Ten of Pentacles

Sometimes, it takes a very long time for the ol’ penny to drop. I was watching an Ellie Dreams Down Under video on YouTube this morning. The final card of the spread was the Ten of Pentacles.

Gosh, I’d never realized it before but the 10 Pentacles were laid out in a pattern that I know so well:

I should have known better than to think these matters were separate. To understand more, see this link.

EOM.
