Walking a Legal Tightrope, Will She Fall?

Aileen Cannon (February 1, 1981)

I haven’t tried to raise her birth chart previously, because no reputable online sites have ever listed her birth date. Judge Aileen Cannon seems to be a mysterious individual to most legal pundits, but the website Medium seemingly got hold of her birth details and raised a chart for 12 noon.

Well, I’ve gone one step further and randomized her birth time, just to see what comes out in the wash.

The 7th House (of Open Enemies) is in Libra, the sign of justice and judgement. Jupiter and Saturn are conjunct there, which is also a sign of balance between Others and Oneself.

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn

Throughout your life you will make plans and try to organize your affairs with care and discipline. You do not want to go too far too fast, and you want to have a structure that will regulate your life and keep it moving forward in the best possible manner. However, the discipline structure that you adopt must not keep you from growing, because you will develop a strong sense of objectives early in life, and you will rebel against anything that interferes with your progress toward your goals. When your life is working well, you can do everything carefully and in an orderly manner. When you take up a task, you follow it through systematically and thoroughly. You can stick to a job longer than most others, and you can keep track of many details at once.

I didn’t think it would be that obvious, but the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction echoes the life of Jesus, who, when faced with having to judge another, chose not to. His Jupiter/Saturn conjunction was in Pisces.

The Pluto in Libra (in the 7th House) in her chart is timed for about 39 years, when she was appointed to the US District Court of the Southern District of Florida on November 2020, by Donald Trump. Did he know that he would need her help in the future? I think so, but let’s say, for brevity’s sake, that he made a lucky appointment. She is now on the hot seat of his Mar-a-Lago secret documents case.

Her predicament seems to be straight out of the plot of 1947’s “Miracle on 34th Street”. Like Judge Baxter in the film, she has to walk a fine line between saying out loud what everyone believes to be true and what is most politically expedient for her career trajectory. In other words, she is caught between a rock (Saturn) and a hard place (Jupiter).

To Rolling Stone, He’s the 4th Greatest Guitarist

Eddie Van Halen (January 26, 1955 – October 6, 2020)

It’s not often that one can get accurate birth and death details for a celebrated personality. Eddie Van Halen is the exception, for sure. And I’m coming to this individual because Cash Peters posted his transition video this morning on YouTube.

An almost exact conjunction between Neptune and his Ascendant @ 28° Libra shows that he was meant to be on stage, performing to the best of his ability. It also hints that his ‘work’ was inspired. There are two inconjuncts.

Mercury Inconjunct Jupiter

You like to think big, and you have great ambitions, but you don’t always make sure that your thinking is clear or careful. When you make any kind of plan, be careful. Don’t try to take on more than you can handle and make sure not to overlook details, for that could hurt what you are trying to do. Careful planning will help you develop disciplined habits in other areas as well.

However, you may be inclined to preach about morality, because you enjoy being right and letting others know that they do not live up to your “high” standards. But sometimes you fake it; you aren’t as “good” as you pretend to be. Be careful of this, for you could be known as a hypocrite. It’s fine to set high standards and live up to them, but do not pretend to be better than you are. And let others decide on their own moral standards.

Mercury Inconjunct Uranus

You are quite inventive. You can see solutions to problems quicker than most, and you may be good at designing. Model building and other activities that develop your design sense and ability to see in three dimensions would be very useful. Also these exercises would help you learn to concentrate.

This aspect might mean that you have nervous problems, such as a tendency to get exhausted or a sensitive disposition that requires a very calm environment in order to prevent further problems.

Neptune Conjunct Ascendant

Very often when people with this aspect get in touch with their real feelings, they make the astonishing discovery that they can project themselves to others in many ways, as if they have different personalities for different people and situations. You may or may not be a professional actor, but you will probably do quite a bit of acting in your everyday life. Just try to avoid getting a reputation for being deceptive and untrustworthy. At your core you have to be honest with others, even if you enjoy seeming mysterious and elusive.

When Love Turns to Hate in the Cancel Culture

J.K. Rowling (July 31, 1965)

J.K. Rowling (birth name Joanne) is known as the bestselling author of the Harry Potter stories. She has recently been vilified by the LGBTQ+ community for (supposedly) hate-filled comments she has made.

Rowling’s responses to proposed changes to UK gender recognition laws, and her views on sex and gender, have provoked controversy. Her statements have divided feminists; fuelled debates on freedom of speech and cancel culture; and prompted declarations of support for transgender people from the literary, arts and culture sectors.

Wikipedia

I decided to look at her birth chart after watching an Ellie Dreams Down Under video about her, this morning.

This charted was rectified by another astrologer, and most astrology sites have gone along with the timing of 9:10 pm. But, accidently, I wrote am instead and this popped up. In some ways, this chart setup is more accurate of the effect she has on society, so I’m going to go with this time instead.

The reason? Most of the aspects in this chart are with Saturn in Pisces on the Descendant. And having Pluto and the Moon flanking her (now) Virgo Ascendant gives us a glimpse into the personality that could dream up the literary world of Harry Potter.

There is one inconjunct which would exist even if the birth time was 12 hours later.

Mars Inconjunct Saturn

You have a strong will and always want to have your own way. But very often it seems as if tremendous forces are working to prevent you from getting what you want. If you have this problem, it is because of the way you go about trying to achieve your ends. If you put too much force into your desire to get something, you may unknowingly alienate people because your aggressive manner shows that you will let nothing stop you from getting what you want. Even if that isn’t the way you really feel about it, you should recognize that your forcefulness creates this impression.

.

Contrary to the rectified time, Pluto in the 12th House (of the Unconscious) seems to be confirmed by this video discussion between J.K. Rowling and Stephen Fry. And the Moon in the 1st House (of Personality) speaks to her tremendous popularity as an author. But, just to keep things in context, Saturn at about age 25, seems to match the hardship she was facing which was triggered by her mother’s illness and her father’s emotional abandonment.

[Her mother] Anne Rowling was diagnosed with a “virulent strain” of multiple sclerosis when she was 34 or 35 and Jo was 15, and had to give up her job. Rowling’s home life was complicated by her mother’s illness and a strained relationship with her father. Rowling later said “home was a difficult place to be”, and that her teenage years were unhappy. In 2020, she wrote that her father would have preferred a son and described herself as having severe obsessive–compulsive disorder in her teens. She began to smoke, took an interest in alternative rock, and adopted Siouxsie Sioux’s back-combed hair and black eyeliner. Sean Harris, her best friend in the Upper Sixth, owned a turquoise Ford Anglia that provided an escape from her difficult home life and the means for Harris and Rowling to broaden their activities.

I rest my case, m’lord.

Did Her Mental State Finally Get the Better of Her Life?

Anne Heche (May 25, 1969 – August 11, 2022)

A Hollywood Medium YouTube video from E! showed up this morning, which suggests that bipolar disorder was a family trait inherited by Anne Heche from her maternal grandfather, Richard.

Does her birth chart confirm this?

Usually, 12th House (of the Unconscious) planets can be an indicator of mental health issues, and there is a conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus (with the South Node sandwiched between them) in the final degrees of Virgo. But the hint of what was really going on is highlighted by the close Venus Descendant conjunction which then forms inconjuncts to the Moon and Pluto. This is the real problem.

Moon Inconjunct Venus

You need to be loved, even more than most people, particularly by your mother or another woman who takes the place of your mother. This need for love will be the force behind many of your actions. If you don’t find the love you are looking for, you will develop an insecure hunger for love from everyone you meet. However, you may express this in very strange ways, such as a desire for food, especially sweets, which unconsciously represent love to you.

There is also the danger that if you spend so much time and effort trying to get what you need, you will not be able to give love to others. Thus this aspect can mean that you indulge yourself and expect others to do everything for you. Of course, if people think that you are looking at things this way, they will not be inclined to help you. That will drive you to seek love even more and make the pattern even stronger.

Venus Inconjunct Pluto

With this aspect you must learn a great deal about the kinds of friends you want and the kinds of experiences you will have through other people. Even while you are still young, you may meet persons who are quite difficult to get along with, but who seem to be impossible to get away from, even when you want to. You may be fascinated by such persons, or circumstances may force you to stay with them. These people do have a definite role to play in your life, but it may not always be a pleasant one. They will teach you something about life or about yourself.

Moon Conjunct Pluto

Your feelings are very important to you, and you are likely to react emotionally to every situation and person you meet. But when your emotions get in the way, it is difficult to see clearly what is happening. And your moods affect you so much that as they change, your personality changes accordingly. One day you are positive and cheerful, and another day, sad and gloomy. When you love someone, you love very deeply, and your close family and friends are very important to you. Once you have become attached to a person or even a place, it is difficult for you to break away.

That Car Crash (August 5, 2022)

This accident led to Ms. Heche’s death six days later. I decided that it was even more important than her exit date. You’ll see why in a minute.

The significance of the similar Ascendant pattern (this time @ 12° Libra) brings her natal 11th and 12th House planets and lights into a fully encompassing 12th House placement. I wasn’t expecting that.

Her natal North Node is conjunct her ‘fatal’ Neptune (which suggests why the authorities thought she was under some kind of ‘influence’). And, as the ‘other’ echo, her natal Neptune is widely conjunct her ‘fatal’ South Node, so this feels fated. It is so tragic for us, but it feels like a blessing in disguise for her.

Rest in peace.

True or False? Jesus Said…

“Ye Are Gods” (John 10:34)

I came across this quote in Cash Peter’s book “The Illustrated Law of Attraction”:

‘To be the Christ,’ Selig said, ‘simply means to be yourself in full realization of your power as a piece of God in action… [A]n aspect of God being brought forth into light.’

That, in a nutshell, is who you are.

His words echo what Jesus himself is quoted as saying in Psalm 82:6, when he felt moved to inform his fellow Jews, “Ye are gods…children of the Most High,” seeking to remind them, and the rest of his followers, and us, that Christ consciousness, the pocket of universal loving-kindness we carry inside of us, was present inside all of them too.

Peters, Cash. The Illustrated Law of Attraction: Getting More of What You Want By Being More of Who You Are (p. 75). MCWriting.com. Kindle Edition.

Hmm.

Never one to settle for a glib quote, I dug deeper, getting out my Bible.

82 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

Psalm 82 (KJV)

Now that’s a horse of a completely different colour. In this Psalm, the writer is reminding the rulers and judges to be more compassionate with the poor and downtrodden. So, this harkens back to something else, that was originally written in Genesis.

Oh-oh. We’re on the other side of history, here: the temptation of Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Genesis 3:1-5 (KJV)

Which brings me around to what Jesus was discussing in John 10. He was being accused of blasphemy in suggesting that he and the Father were one (and the same). He never called himself a god, he always refers to himself as the Son of God. (Now, just a reminder that God and gods may be about Yahweh and/or the Elohim, which, in effect, are the Celestial Judges of mankind.)

Again, the quote itself seems provocative, until you widen it out into a more comprehensive citation.

22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch.

24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.

26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

30 I and my Father are one.

31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

John 10:22-36 (KJV)

Okay. Are you ready for my nail in the coffin? The term “your law” implies that it doesn’t apply to Jesus. Do you wonder why? That’s when I remembered something else Jesus said in John 8.

Again, a fuller quote will be needed to give these words context.

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.

14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.

23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.

26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

37 I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.

50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.

53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

John 8:22-59 (KJV)

We all know what it’s like to try to explain something spiritual to people who have no understanding. John 8, which begins with a woman caught in the act of adultery (who some suggest was Mary Magdalene), that Jesus refused to judge, brought about a lengthy philosophical discussion about spiritual versus temporal life. He upsets those that would tempt him into saying something they could pin on him. It’s like being questioned in a court of law and pleading the 5th Amendment (US Constitution). Jesus told them as straight as he could, but they didn’t comprehend what he was really saying.

Which brings me to my final point: who exactly was John? I’ve always had a sneaky suspicion that it was actually his Beloved Disciple, Mary. And that would be what Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” was trying to demonstrate artistically.

Is this a full circle moment?

The Voice of an Angel Silenced Too Soon?

Karen Carpenter (March 2, 1950 – February 4, 1983)

Ordinarily, I would have left Karen Carpenter to rest in peace. But, then videos of a young woman have surfaced which, astoundingly, have brought her singing voice back to life in this day and age.

The timing of her birth was already on my (new) Kepler 8.0 program. It’s based on her birth certificate. I think we can trust it. First thing to notice is how close to my own birth chart the outer planets are. She was born just three weeks (or so) after me. Here, the Cancer Ascendant is almost exactly conjunct Uranus @ 1° Cancer. That’s interesting. Mars (conjunct the South Node) is inconjunct with the Sun and the Midheaven. That tells me that her life is a continuation of the past, with all its complications.

Sun Inconjunct Mars

It is not good for you to hold your angry feelings in. When you feel angry or resentful, your feelings are quite strong, and if you hold them in, they can turn into sickness or infection. In some cases your feelings can become self-destructive and bring about an accident. If you can focus your anger, express it and let it go, you will never remain angry for very long.

In 1975, she started exhibiting symptoms of anorexia nervosa due to the severe pressures of fame and her complicated family dynamics. She was plagued by the disease for years. She died in 1983 at the age of 32 of heart failure due to complications from anorexia, which was little-known outside celebrity circles at the time, and her death triggered widespread attention and research into eating disorders and body dysmorphia.

Wikipedia

Mars Inconjunct Midheaven

This aspect can mean that you have mixed feelings about all authority figures, including your parents. You may feel that you have to violate the rules laid down by your parents in order to get your way. This is a significant problems, because if it continues into adulthood, you will have great difficulties with employers. Therefore it is very important that your parents teach you how to express your self-assertive drives without going against their teachings.

On its own, Karen’s death chart is fairly insignificant, if you ignore the Pluto opposition to her ‘fatal’ Aries Ascendant. Note also that all of the planets and lights are in the public hemisphere. This was not a private event, in any sense of the word. That’s how we know that she was pronounced dead at 9:51 a.m.

The picture expands when we put her birth and death charts together.

Karen’s natal Part of Fortune is conjunct her ‘fatal’ Jupiter/Uranus conjunction. And her natal Sun is the midpoint between her ‘fatal’ Venus/Mars conjunction. Finally, her ‘fatal’ North Node is conjunct her natal Uranus (and Ascendant conjunction), which we noted above. It was a ‘time to move on’ moment.

We have no birth details of this individual, not even her birth year, so there is no way I can compare these two women karmically. But the uncanny similarity between their voices is something remarkable.

Some have speculated that it was just Karen’s voice that reincarnated! I have no way to confirm or deny that, but, at another level, it is possible that Toni has a pitch-perfect ability to sing in exactly the same way as the original singer. Check out her YouTube videos and Facebook posts to see what I mean.

Who’s This Saint That Influences the Weather in the UK?

Saint Swithun (c. 800 – July 2, 863)

As the people of Norway still celebrate St. Swithun’s Feast Day as July 2nd, I have looked at his death chart for that day in 863. It equates in our modern Gregorian calendar as July 6th.

The clock is set for noon because there is no accurate timing of his death. Notice that the Moon is inconjunct to the Sun, Uranus and the Midheaven. But Swithun’s popularity is almost nonexistent, that is, until his remains were transferred to Winchester Cathedral on July 15, 971, more than a hundred years later.

This is the day (equivalent to July 20th now) when his new feast day was celebrated in the UK.

St. Swithun’s day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St. Swithun’s day if thou be fair
For forty days ’twill rain nae mare

Proverb

Honestly, you wouldn’t credit it if it wasn’t such an enduring belief. Note the randomized lineup: both Neptune and Uranus flank the 25° Libra Ascendant. And the Moon at 24° Pisces is inconjunct to it.

That’s quite the achievement. He will always be remembered, not only for the weather, but also for the “One Day” that all the events happen in the lives of Dexter and Emma. Bless.

Will It Rain or Shine on St. Swithin’s Day?

One Day (2024)

This show is described as a drama series. It certainly isn’t a lot of fun. A Romeo/Juliet style love story for the modern day. Dexter is a rich boy from London, Emma is a a poor girl from Leeds. They meet on St. Swithin’s Day (July 15, 1988) on their graduation day from the University of Edinburgh. The story covers the next 15 years on the same day. It is meant to be ironic, but depending on the weather for the day, not just the next 40 days is forecast, but for the next year as well.

So, why does everyone think this is a great love story? He’s shallow and ‘annoying’, she’s deep and ‘rude’. They don’t match each other’s energies at the same time, and their happily ever after ends in tragedy. No, I didn’t enjoy the ride. I expect it’s because I’m from the generation prior to theirs.

And Maybe the Racial Diversity Elements Made It an Unlikely Pairing

And, just to show you the juxtaposition of a different version with the drama series, here’s the film that was based on the same source document (the book) and covered the very same events.

Maybe I’m prejudiced, but I feel this is a more likely linkup between two divergent characters.

(Even the posters are the same, just to make the point…)

A Doomsday Book Set the Stage for Our Modern Times

The Late Great Planet Earth (1970)

I’ve written about Hal Lindsey before. You can check out his birth chart here. He set our hearts racing towards Armageddon when his book came out in the 1970’s. But, strange as it may seem, he may have been right, after all, since we are now seeing the Hamas-Israeli war play out before our viewing eyes, on network television news programs. Take a look at this YouTube video interview from 1998:

This seems to be echoing what Gregg Braden has been discussing recently. Are we in the End Times?

The Truth is in the Title

American Fiction (2023)

Oh, boy, this is a clever satire on the state of American literary circles. Meet Monk: he’s a writer of fiction who gets no reviews, no awards and hardly any book sales. In frustration, he writes a manuscript about a black man who murders his father and then goes on the lam. Everybody and his uncle (Sam) love it. He gets offered a huge advance to publish it, but he doesn’t want to, because he knows he was just f*cking with the white bread publishing system. When he gets offered a multi-million dollar sum to get it produced as a film, he has to hide his identity, for fear of being found out to be an academic.

The sequence where Monk finally starts writing his story reminds me of the same thing that Charles Dickens went through when writing “A Christmas Carol” as seen in “The Man Who Invented Christmas”.

This happened to me when I was writing a play called “Bankrupture” in 1978. Instead of inventing each of the characters and their dialogue, I acted as a secretary, taking down verbatim what they said. They revealed themselves by speaking their own words. In my experience, this was unprecedented. I was able to do this because I based the main character, Elmer, on myself. This is known as being an author surrogate.

So, I can relate, yet again.

If you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend that you do so. It’s as good as they get.
