Inside the Minds of Serial Killers in the 1970s and 1980s

Mindhunter (2017-2019)

It was a different time then. The FBI didn’t understand what they were dealing with in those days. In fact, using psychological profiling seemed a bit too much ‘mumbo-jumbo’. Notice that the image above is actually of a head of a killer formed from a Rorschach ink blot, with the actors of the show duplicated as the ink.

This is not an easy show to watch, but, like a train wreck about to happen, you cannot take your eyes away for a second, just in case you miss some little detail. And, admit it, we all are fascinated by the mental aberrations of people (read, men) who kill others for whatever reasons they think are justified.

The show, over two seasons on Netflix, tries to accurately represent some of the best known serial killers of that era. Take a look at them, here:

As historical fact, wrapped up in fiction, this show is very well presented. We’ve only watched two episodes. I don’t think we’ll bother with any more.

A Cozy Homemade Dinner with Worldwide Implications

Black Bag (2025)

We watched this film on Prime Video last night. From the very beginning, the cloak and dagger feeling is produced by people working in the shadows of the night. It took a while to get to the point of the story which was the marriage at the centre of the intrigue was under attack from two sides. The couple fought back on their own terms. Hence the dinner table as a meeting place for the suspected traitors.

The pace the discovery and the psychology of the spy business, and especially the main character played by Michael Fassbender, remind me of George Smiley in “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy”. So, not much has really changed after all these years. However, the technology has greatly improved their ability to listen in on conversations even from a great distance. That alone was worth the price of admission.

If you’re a fan of the spy game, you will enjoy this film. And you won’t be able to guess who the traitor is until nearly the end. Isn’t love grand?

This Story Could Have Been Written by Thomas Hardy

Desperation Road (2023)

If you’ve ever had to read (or watch) “The Mayor of Casterbridge”, “Tess of the D’Urbervilles”, or “Jude the Obscure”, you must be very aware of Hardy’s trick of bringing all the storylines back together by the end. That’s how I felt during the watching of this film on Netflix last night. But instead of a Wessex County backdrop, this one takes place in Mississippi, where the author, Michael Farris Smith, was born.

In the closing credits, Garrett Hedlund’s name was above the film title, That alerted me to the fact that he’s obviously well-known enough to a segment of the population in the United States to be the star of this story.. A country singer, perhaps?

Hmm.

The Man who Claims to Understand Jeffrey Epstein

Michael Wolff (August 27, 1953)

People born in the same year tend to have their outer planets in the same place in their birth charts. That is why I’m looking at Michael Wolff today. His subject, Jeffrey Epstein, was a convicted pedophile, So, I wanted to see how their birth charts align.

Michael’s birth time is unknown. One astrology site lists his (default) timing as 2 pm. I’ll go with that time for consistency’s sake. The first thing to note is how all the planets are above the horizon, except for the Moon in Aries. Hmm. The T-square links his Moon with Saturn and Neptune in Libra in opposition and all squaring Uranus in Cancer. There are no inconjuncts.

Now let’s combine Michael’s chart with Epstein’s:

Michael’s North Node is closely conjunct Epstein’s Sun in Aquarius. Their positions of the Moon are just 7° apart in Aries. Michael’s Virgo Sun is in opposition to Epstein’s Pisces Ascendant. I think we have ‘proof’ enough of their links.

My reason for this exercise is to see if Michael Wolff can be trusted to tell us the truth of what was going on with Jeffrey Epstein and his circle of acquaintances. I’m more willing to believe him now.

He said it, not me. But it is interesting that the Trumps are not suing Michael Wolff.

Heard During an Interview on YouTube, Yesterday

Casualty = Casual Cruelty

It was an inadvertent slip of the tongue, but when the speaker corrected himself, I thought, “How clever.” The subject matter was the Jeffrey Epstein case where the person being interviewed suggested that the ‘files’ were being kept hidden to protect the rich and guilty (by association) and the fact that the victims of Epstein’s actions were not being considered, at all. Casual Cruelty, indeed.

I Want to Share This Information, Before They Meet

US-Russia Meeting (August 15, 2025)

Originally, I set the timing for this meeting to 12 noon, before it was confirmed to be 11:30 am local time. What I saw in the event chart was an ominous Mars/Ascendant conjunction. That doesn’t bode well.

If I were a betting man, I’d lay odds that this meeting was not going to go down very well. Saturn conjunct Neptune in Aries is quite a handful already, before adding Mars in Libra in opposition.

Who will get the better of the other in this meeting? Judge for yourself.

Just because of his Neptune being conjunct the event Mars, I would suggest that Trump will achieve what his intention was: to distract the world from his Jeffrey Epstein ‘situation’. Putin, however, has his Pluto conjunct the event Sun, which would probably result in his getting things his way, in the end.

What say you?

The Original “G-Man”

John Edgar Hoover (January 1, 1895 – May 2, 1972)

Do you think it’s possible that J. Edgar could have lied about his date of birth? January 1st seems too pat. Just to prove my point, I’m sharing with you what the birth chart looks like, as already posted on my Kepler 8.0 program.

If you couple that doubt with the consistent use of a 7:30 am birth time, you get a very unreal result: birth, just before dawn and a double inconjunct linking Neptune and Pluto with the Sun and the Ascendant. However, if it is correct on both counts, this may help us understand his stubborn attitude AND his need to discover hidden matters, while keeping those secrets. Having Mars in opposition to his Saturn/Midheaven conjunction could also be a very large hint: all actions taken were to maintain control over his Federal Bureau of Investigation.

What do you think?

Hmm.

The Soviets Must Have Consulted an Astrologer

The Berlin Wall Begins (August 13, 1961)

I know it sounds glib, but the event chart for the beginning of the Berlin Wall reveals something ‘interesting’.

A Yod (Finger of God) is pointing at Saturn (ultimate control) formed by inconjuncts to Uranus (sudden actions) and the Ascendant (timing). Honestly, could it really just be coincidental? I think not.

At midnight, the police and units of the East German army began to close the border and, by Sunday morning, 13 August, the border with West Berlin was closed. East German troops and workers had begun to tear up streets running alongside the border to make them impassable to most vehicles and to install barbed wire entanglements and fences along the 156 km (97 mi) around the three western sectors, and the 43 km (27 mi) that divided West and East Berlin.[59] The date of 13 August became commonly referred to as Barbed Wire Sunday in Germany.

Wikipedia

I’ve added this quote to show where I got the timing of midnight for the chart. Uranus is conjunct the Sun and Mercury and in opposition to the Midheaven. Also, the Moon is conjunct Pluto. The otherwise unaspected planets, Venus and Neptune, are in a trine to each other. Other astrologers will be able to read between the lines.

With a Grim Determination to See It to the End

Being Rose (2017)

Looking through the films on Prime Video last night, I came across this one from 2017. Susan likes shows about cowboys, so it could be good for both of us, I thought. I was wrong. It was hard work.

Cybill Shepherd is one determined lady, Being Rose: she went on a road trip like no other, mostly on her canopied wheelchair. Along the way, she meets Max, and they strike up a friendship, of sorts. But the story takes on a fatal hue, which was telegraphed from the opening scenes of Rose having a brain scan.

There are very few times that Cybill’s character smiles. That’s hard to watch, because I remember her beauty from her earliest films. It was a shock to realize that she was born only 9 days after me in 1950.

Bless.
