Hoist with His Own Petard (Hamlet: Act 3, Scene 4)

Russia Bombs Belgorod, Russia (April 20, 2023)

That Shakespearian quote is usually never understood by modern audiences. But what happened in Belgorod, Russia is a perfect example of it.

Hoist on your own petard is an expression that means to be hurt or victimized by your own scheme or device. It comes from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, where a petard was a small explosive that could sometimes blow up the engineer who set it. The expression can also apply to words or actions that backfire on you.

Wikipedia

(Notice that there are modern variations of the phrase.)

Well, it turns out that there was more than one bomb that was dropped on the Russian city. Why this happened is not completely understood, nor is it clear why Russia would even admit to this event.

At any rate, this ‘small’ incident is a reminder that the whole conflict with Ukraine could be considered the same. If they hadn’t invaded their neighbour, none of this would have happened.

Post Script

Just for interest sake, I’ve charted the bomb detonation: there are two inconjuncts, totally reliant on a correct timing. I checked the timing and it would appear that Moscow Time is not Daylight Savings.

Sun Inconjunct Ascendant

You may find that no matter how hard you try to show others who you really are, they misunderstand you somehow. This is because the angular relationship between your rising sign and Sun sign indicates that your internal energies are quite different from the energies that you show to the world. You are not intentionally dishonest with the world, you simply present a confusing complex of energies.

Jupiter Inconjunct Midheaven

The problem with this aspect is to find a balance between, on the one hand, expressing yourself creatively, perhaps artistically, and having a good time and, on the other hand, getting ahead in life, learning the ways of the world and finding an acceptable role in society. You know you will have to make sacrifices in order to accomplish anything of value.

Hmm.

Not Content with Banning Abortions, They Want to…

Ban Abortion Pills, too

Women’s choices are being steadily eroded. As was pointed out in last night’s episode of “Grey’s Anatomy”, the sanctity of life in the eye of pro-life supporters is only when a fetus is in the womb; when it become a little human being, it can be shot dead by anyone who carries an assault rifle into school.

Something is terribly wrong with American society.

I wonder if they’ve thought this through, those for whom abortion is an abomination. The fear that ‘others’ are taking over their country(?) should be incentive enough to allow abortions, or abortion pills, to continue controlling the population. For, no matter how the law wants to regulate their use, a woman in ‘the family way’ will still opt for what works in her circumstances, even if it becomes illegal. So it has been for many a long year. The hidden agenda is men’s attempted control of women’s reproductive organs.

In “Daisy Jones & The Six” two of the bandmates broke up when the keyboards player went ahead with an abortion without discussing it with the lead guitarist (who would have been the father). Even in a dramatic show like that, the rejection of a man’s offspring is effectively rejection of the man himself.

She’s Elvis Presley’s Granddaughter, Can’t You Tell?

Riley Keough (May 29, 1989)

Final image from “Daisy Jones & The Six”

After Lisa Marie Presley died earlier this year, I began to hear Riley Keough‘s name mentioned in conjunction with the ownership of Elvis’ home, Graceland. Prior to that, I knew nothing about her.

As there are no inconjuncts, what you see is definitely what you get with this young lady. As proof, see that Ascendant of hers @ 13° Sagittarius 9′. She is another one of those straight-shooters, but her personal energies are held in place by some oppositions and squares. Her acting chops come from Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Capricorn. She mentioned in one interview I saw that she needs some form of rigid structure in order to work effectively. Other people coming to work 15 minutes late kind of freaks her out. So, yes, that totally fits.

What I really enjoyed about “Daisy Jones & The Six” is Riley’s smile (see above image). It made my viewing of the show worth every single minute.

See? No filter.

So What Exactly was that Light in the Sky?

Kyiv “Flash” Light (April 19, 2023)

This single frame (image capture) shows the precise timing for our purposes. The whole article and video image can be seen here.

If the planetary line-up seems familiar, this one is effectively the day after Fox settled the Dominion defamation lawsuit. There are two inconjuncts, pointing at the Ascendant @ 21° Scorpio.

Moon Inconjunct Ascendant

This aspect ties together a Moon sign and a rising sign that are very different. This indicates that the image that is projected to others does not reveal very much about the true feelings, behind the scenes.

Jupiter Inconjunct Ascendant

At times you will go through tremendous and possibly painful creative changes in your life, in which everything that you are is replaced by a new order. Your environment may change radically, or you may lose all your old friends and find a whole set of new ones.

Moon Conjunct Jupiter

This aspect is very easy to live with. You are probably well liked, because your optimistic attitude warms people up. You can even make others feel good when they are depressed.

These descriptions sound very much like Zelenskyy and the leadership of Ukraine. So that makes me wonder if (whatever the flash was) this is a sign from the heavens that Ukraine’s prospects are improving and this may also be a turning point in the conflict with Russia. We shall see.

Will Ukraine finally be allowed to join NATO?

Do You Want to Go Back to the 1970’s?

Daisy Jones & The Six (2023)

Based on a novel with the same name, this Amazon Prime Video show is an amazing look back at the ‘soft rock’ era of Fleetwood Mac and others. About the second or third episode, I turned to my wife and said, “This is Fleetwood Mac-lite.” That was before I did the research. Even now, after watching the complete series, I can hear their influence in the music, and see it through their on-stage performances.

Perhaps the biggest surprise was finding that they also have an album out on iTunes, entitled “Aurora”.

If you get a chance, see the show and listen to the album. You’ll be amazed and surprised, I promise you.

Was Her Cancer Due to the Dust from 911?

Donna Summer (December 31, 1948 – May 17, 2012)

LAS VEGAS – OCTOBER 15: Singer Donna Summer performs during the David Foster and Friends concert at the Mandalay Bay Events Center October 15, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

There is a bit of controversy concerning Donna Summer‘s death in 2012.

Donna Summer died of lung cancer, but the singer wasn’t a smoker, and the cancer wasn’t related to smoking, her family’s representative said Friday.

Summer’s family issued the announcement in the wake of how “various reports currently surfacing about the cause of Ms. Summer’s death are not accurate,” representative Brian Edward said.

“Obviously, numerous factors can be attributed to the cause of cancer in general, but any details regarding the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of Ms. Summer’s case remain between her family and team of doctors,” Edwards said in a statement.

CNN

This made me wonder if it was possible to link her birth and death charts with 911.

First of all, Saturn on the Ascendant is normally a signal that the individual is under constraints of some kind. In Donna’s case, I would imagine this is her religious upbringing by her parents. But it can also be a sign of a debilitation leading to death. That North Node conjunct the 9th House is interesting, too. There are two inconjuncts, coming from a conjunction between the Moon and Mars and pointing at Uranus in Gemini.

Moon Conjunct Mars

You are likely to have quite a temper and fly off the handle easily. However, if you are allowed to express your anger completely, you get over it very soon. You can be very angry at one minute, but as soon as your mood has passed, you are quite calm. However, if you get into the habit of holding in your angry feelings, they can build up to quite a fierce level and even become destructive in your life later on. Suppressed anger can be a source of many nervous disorders and mental problems when you are an adult.

Moon Inconjunct Uranus

Your relationship with your mother may be rather unstable. She may be very involved in her own interests, which prevent her from being as close to you as she would be otherwise. She may be an unconventional person, a real free spirit. The problem is that your feelings about her are mixed, both loving and unloving. You may secretly resent her. Probably you don’t feel that you can express this consciously, but it could come out when you are angry or upset. Certainly this will result in not wanting to form close relationships with other people, especially women. And the people you do choose as close friends are likely to be exciting and different from anyone you have known in the past. However, they may also be rather upsetting.

Mars Inconjunct Uranus

You have a tendency to be rash and impulsive, which may get in your way. If matters proceed too slowly, you are likely to make a sudden move that upsets the whole situation and forces you to start over. You must learn to be patient if you want to achieve your objectives.

Nevertheless, you need to find some outlet for your energy. It would not be good for you to hold it back totally, because if you do, you may be accident prone. In fact, when you are angry it would be a very good policy to go off by yourself and vent your feelings — scream and yell to your heart’s content! If you are able to blow off steam right away, you do not stay angry for long.

Saturn Conjunct Ascendant

Even while you are quite young, you will have a very serious attitude toward life, and as a result, youth will not mean as much to you as it does to others. Either you will take on responsibilities very early in life, or they will be thrust upon you. You may find it hard to simply relax and have a good time, but even if life seems hard sometimes, you should try to relax and enjoy yourself when you can. Otherwise, with this aspect you might become the type of person who always seems to put a damper on other people’s good spirits. You get so wrapped up in your own worries and responsibilities that you remind others of their own problems, even when they want to escape from them.

Now, the reason I’ve gone to such great lengths to explain these traits is to counter the perception we all have as fans to see only the best side of an individual, because they become our heroes and heroines.

So, What About 911 and Donna Summer’s Death?

Summer died on May 17, 2012, aged 63, at her home in Naples, Florida, from lung cancer. Being a nonsmoker, Summer theorized that her cancer had been caused by inhaling toxic fumes and dust from the September 11 attacks in New York City; she was in her apartment near Ground Zero when the attacks occurred. However, some reports have instead attributed the cancer to Summer’s smoking during her younger years, her continued exposure to second-hand smoking while performing in clubs well after she had quit, and a predisposition to this disease in the family.

Wikipedia

Notice that 911’s Moon is also exactly conjunct Summer’s natal Uranus (the inconjunct to her natal Moon/Mars conjunction). Summer’s natal Neptune is conjunct 911’s Mercury/Ascendant conjunction @ 15° Libra. Finally, 911’s Venus is conjunct Summer’s natal Pluto. This cannot be a coincidence. Maybe she was meant to exit this life with that event. Almost nothing in her death chart links up with the event, however, except for 911’s Saturn (again) conjunct her fatal Ascendant. Hmm.

Fox Corporation Finally Out-Foxed

Fox Settles the Dominion Defamation Lawsuit

Honestly, I am surprised that they waited until the last moment to finally agree to settle the lawsuit.

This chart is a prime example of the power of Pluto in Aquarius. Everything else was above the horizon, with Pluto in the 6th House.

Pluto in this position can be a sign that you might work in some area involving investigation, research, psychology or secret projects.

Planet in Youth (by Robert Hand)

By late yesterday afternoon, the word was out: Rupert Murdock had stopped the media circus by agreeing to hand over $787,500,000 to Dominion Voting Machines. Do you wonder why?

The event’s Part of Fortune is (almost) exactly conjunct Murdock’s Mars @ 27° Cancer, within 3° opposition to the event’s Pluto. The Fox had been outfoxed, finally.

Amen.

Post Script

I hadn’t realized that I had the chart for Fox stock IPO on my computer, so comparing this chart and the lawsuit chart shows a very interesting connection: Saturn in the IPO chart is conjunct the event Sun @ 28° Aries, while Neptune in the IPO chart is conjunct the event Pluto @ 0° Aquarius. Evidently, the whole process of the legal discovery occurred while Pluto was transiting that IPO Neptune: hidden matters being exposed to the light of consciousness. Isn’t astrology grand?

A Message for My Friends and Family

Silver Springs (by Fleetwood Mac)

Even before we started watching “Daisy Jones & The Six”, I had this song on my mind.

I thought by posting a lyrics version video of it on Facebook that the impulse would be satisfied. It wasn’t. Now I’m going to give it the whole ten yards here. (These are the early version lyrics:)

You could be my silver spring
Blue green colors flashin’
I would be your only dream
Your shining autumn, ocean crashing

But don’t tell me she is pretty
And did you say that she loved you
Baby, I don’t wanna know

So I’ll begin not to love you
Turn around, see me runnin’
I’ll say I loved you years ago
Tell myself you never loved me, no

And don’t tell me that she’s pretty
How could you say that she loved you
Baby, I don’t wanna know
Oh, and can you tell me was it worth it
Baby, I don’t wanna know

Well, time casts a spell on you but you won’t forget me
And I know I could have loved you but you would not let me

Well, time casts a spell on you but you won’t forget me
Well, I know I could have loved you but you would not let me
Well, time cast a spell on you but you won’t forget me
Well, I know I could have loved you but you would not let me, go ahead, try

Well, time cast a spell on you but, baby, you won’t forget me, ever such a fool?
I know I could have loved you but you would not let me, go ahead, try
I’ll follow you down ’til the sound of my voice will haunt you
You will never get away from the sound of the woman that wants you, go ahead, try
I’ll follow you down ’til the sound of my voice will haunt you, ever such a fool?
You’ll never get away from the sound of the woman that wants you
You will never get away from the sound of the woman that wants you
Well, time cast a spell on you, baby, you won’t forget me

You Wouldn’t Think He was a Shy Man

Charlie Chaplin (April 16, 1889 – December 25, 1977)

Charlie Chaplin was always an enigma to regular folks. Sure, he could be like every man (the Tramp) and he could even lampoon Hitler (“The Great Dictator”), but the little insecurities were there behind the mask he wore.

There is a little controversy of his date of birth. A newspaper listed it as April 15th in a notice of his birth, and that would have made his Moon in Leo (which could account for his love of acting). But the Moon in Scorpio may be more the ‘real’ him, since it might explain some of his romantic choices in life.

Venus Inconjunct Uranus

You feel mixed up about whether you want to be close to others or be free. Your uncertainty about love and freedom will be even greater if one of your parents doesn’t seem to really love you steadily, if you feel you cannot count on that parent when you need help. This would make you feel that love is somehow unreliable, that you cannot depend on anyone who loves you. As a result, you won’t permit anyone to depend on you either.

Moon Conjunct Ascendant

You make an impression on others largely through your emotions. People always know how you feel about something, because you make no effort to hide it. Some may accuse you of wearing your heart on your sleeve, but most people will like you for it. You have the kind of honesty that others appreciate. When you are older, you will be able to appeal to the feelings off the public at large, who will feel that you are one of them. Politicians, salespeople and others who appear before the public often have this aspect in their charts.

He Really is Talking at Cross-Purposes with America

Jim Jordan (February 17, 1964)

Thinking that you have oversight of state judiciary is the first mistake. The second is that you think by putting everyone else on the defensive is going to save your own skin. Eventually, everything catches up with you.

This chart is rectified to when Jim Jordan married his wife (Venus) @ 21 years of age. I’m not surprised that there are four inconjuncts, but the Yod formed by two of them should be the most important.

Mercury Inconjunct Uranus (Yod half)

Your mind moves quickly from topic to topic, often without pausing long enough for you to understand what you have learned. And if there is a lot of excitement or activity around you, your mind may race so fast to keep up with it all that you work yourself into a state of nervous frenzy. Under these circumstances it is almost impossible for you to concentrate or do any useful mental work.

This aspect might mean that you have nervous problems, such as a tendency to get exhausted or a sensitive disposition that requires a very calm environment in order to prevent further problems.

Mercury Inconjunct Pluto

You have a rather complicated and sometimes tricky mind. You usually prefer to do things in roundabout and involved ways instead of being simple and direct.

On another level, this aspect can mean that at certain times in your life you will go through tremendous psychological changes. All your thoughts and opinions will change completely. These stages may seem difficult, but you will be much better off if you let go of the past and welcome the new ideas.

Venus Inconjunct Uranus (Yod half)

You have mixed up about whether you want to be close to others or be free. When you are really close to a loved one, you feel smothered and want to get away by yourself to do what you want. But when you are alone and free to do what you want, you miss your loved ones and want to be with them. It will take you several years to understand yourself enough so that you can strike a balance between these two needs, so be patient.

Jupiter Inconjunct Neptune

You are an idealist with very vivid dreams about how you want your life to be, and at certain times in your life you will floow those dreams with all your energy.

Your idealism can be the source of much creative imagination, leading to profound insights and realizations, but only if you remain connected with the actual day-to-day universe in which the rest of the human race lives.

“He also happens to be violating the Constitution, specifically the 10th Amendment,” Kirschner argued. “Because the federal government has zero authority to interfere in a state court prosecution. That’s just not one of the powers enumerated to the federal government by the United States Constitution.”

As laid out by the 10th Amendment, all “powers not delegated” to the federal government of the United States are reserved for the individual states, so long as the powers are not also expressively prohibited from the states by the Constitution. The principle of this amendment is often referred to as “state’s rights” and has been invoked and defended frequently by Republicans like Jordan over the course of the two centuries since the Constitution was written.
