25 Cromwell St. Became a “House of Horrors” in 1994

Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story (2025)

We watched this three part documentary on Netflix last night. I’m surprised that I didn’t have nightmares about it afterwards. However, as with most documentaries, this one wasn’t made sensational by the producers. The British press had already done that in 1994.

One has to ask: how could someone do that stuff? And, along the way, make his wife an accessory.

Fred West (September 29, 1941 – January 1, 1995)

When I first randomized his birth chart, the timing came out as 8:52 am. And just to show you how this randomization totally works for me, I finally checked other sites and found one that had 8:30 am, so I’m reverting to that, because it brings a Mars opposition to the Ascendant into line, and that’s where his temper comes from. The double inconjunct from Mercury to his Saturn/Uranus conjunction in the 8th House (of Death) probably gave him a penchant for clever solutions to his nefarious actions.

When It All Fell Apart (February 25, 1994)

At 11:15 that morning, Fred formally admitted to police he had indeed killed his daughter, albeit in an act of manslaughter. He confessed to strangling Heather in a fit of rage, then dismembering her body in the ground floor bathroom with a heavy serrated knife he normally used for cutting slabs of frozen meat. Her remains had been stored in a dustbin as he waited for an opportunity to dig her grave. Fred was insistent his wife had no knowledge of her daughter’s murder, claiming he had committed this murder as Rose was preoccupied with one of her clients, adding the fact the search team had not yet unearthed Heather’s remains was because they had been excavating the wrong section of his garden. He then volunteered to accompany police to the house to pinpoint the precise location of Heather’s body.

Wikipedia

Here’s the chart for that moment:

Because his confession came so suddenly, I wondered why, until I saw the chart: Uranus conjunct Neptune (in the 8th House (of Death) became inconjunct to the Ascendant at that moment. At the same time, Pluto was also inconjunct the Ascendant, forming a Yod (Finger of God). Time’s up!

Just for fun, I compared Fred’s birth chart to his “Admission” chart and wasn’t too surprised:

The transiting planets are significant: his natal Moon is conjunct the event’s Uranus; the event South Node is conjunct his natal Saturn, which is also in opposition to the event Pluto/North Node conjunction. His natal Venus is conjunct the event’s Jupiter. Motivation to protect Rose at all costs may have been behind his action that day.

He ended up committing suicide by hanging himself in his jail cell on New Year’s Day 1995. He took the coward’s way out. And, as always, the British press decided to make a meal out of his death.

It’s Hard to Believe that 40 Years have Passed

Live Aid (July 13, 1985)

Time flies. Memories fade, a little. My second wife and I spent Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning in London on that weekend, celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary. Due to the overwhelming influx of people into the capital, we couldn’t find a hotel room, so we slept in the doorway of a shop overnight. Then we walked to Covent Garden for breakfast, the next day. It was memorable, for sure.

This time there were no inconjuncts, so what you saw was what you got: great music, and even greater entertainment.

Comparing the Chart with Live 8 (July 2, 2005)

There is a question that occurs in every generation: can lightning strike twice? If the astral conditions are similar, there’s always a chance. Let’s take a look at the 20th anniversary concert called Live 8, with the original one.

The Sun is about 10° earlier, but the Moon is about 2° earlier. That’s interesting. Pluto (Live 8) is inconjunct with the original Sun/Mars conjunction (Live Aid). That made this second event more political than the first. Neptune (Live 8) is within 3° of the original Jupiter (Live Aid): same idea, different result. Notice, too, that the Live 8 concert took place 5 days before the bombing of the London Underground (July 7, 2005). The elements of that event are contained within the Live 8 chart.

Nothing happens that doesn’t impinge on other events.

It’s a Strange Question to be Asked:

How Proud are You to be a Canadian?

It goes without saying, doesn’t it? Most people who have dual citizenship will definitely use their Canadian passport to visit other countries because Canada has the best reputation in most places.

But the question raises another issue: would a Canadian relinquish his or her citizenship in order to become an American? That has been the main thorn in the flesh of Hollywood actors and actresses forever.

Most regular Canadians have no such qualms. They don’t have to sublimate themselves in another countries culture just to survive. The 22 years that I lived in the UK, for example, didn’t make me think of giving up my Canadian roots, which is just as well when I moved back home to Canada in 2007.

But, just to put this move into perspective, I was treated as an immigrant by Canadian employers anyway. “Do you have any recent employment history in Canada?” was a frequent interview question.

All I know is that, even in my past life memories, Canada has played a very significant role in my history. How could I give that up? Simple answer: I couldn’t.

The Global Village Just Got Smaller in 1993

World Wide Web Launched (April 30, 1993)

It started out as a way to link computers the world over. What it became is a weapon of war against the world. I’m not alone in thinking this: my children avoid social networks, like the plague.

As you know, I try to see what the energies that existed on any day in history by raising an event chart. This one speaks volumes, starting with Uranus and Neptune conjunct in opposition to a Cancer Ascendant. There are four inconjuncts, the most important of these are the two connecting the Moon with said Uranus/Neptune conjunction. Mercury is inconjunct Pluto, and lastly, Mars in the 1st House is inconjunct Saturn in the 8th House. Renaming the World Wide Web as the World War Web isn’t wrong.

If you compare this chart with the London Underground Bombings of July 7, 2005, you will see echoes.

Conflict and Division

What I’ve noticed over time is the proliferation of posts on social media outlets that set out to ‘reveal secret lives’ of our cultural heroes. A common theme is the “three actors that [insert director’s name] hated most.” Who needs that crap? Let our heroes rest in peace. This just undermines our sacred past.

During democratic elections, interference has been sown to intensify divisions between voting parties. It’s now so far out of control that the political agenda is one of trying to eliminate the opposition by deporting their supporters. Countries are at war with themselves, and the violence is spilling into the streets. It’s beginning to feel like the 1960s all over again.

And where did this all stem from? The World Wide Web.

Question: When Exactly was Revelation Written?

Answer: 60 AD

A lot of people have speculated as to when the Revelation of St. John was written. Their issue is that something as devastating to the Jewish people as the destruction of the Temple would definitely have been noted by John if the timing of his writing was after 70 AD. Since the ‘troubles’ (i.e. tribulation) began happening in 65 AD, John’s vision must have happened at least 42 months earlier. That’s where the time, times and half a time phrase comes from.

Others think that the 42 months phrase actually originated with Daniel’s visions. It’s entirely possible that John was merely echoing that prophecy.

“He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time.” (Daniel 7:25)

(Does this remind you of anyone?)

So, if Jesus returned in 70 AD, as some believe, what’s going to happen in 2070? Is that why it’s called his SECOND coming? Hmm.

It’s Funny How My Mind Works:

Exits vs. Exist

I’m not the only one who has pondered this existential question. But can I claim any credit for recognizing its significance? No, I think not.

Hmm.

Saint Helena and the One True Cross Discovery

On This Date: September 14, 326 AD

I have a very skeptical nature when it comes to religious relics. Most of the time, people in positions of authority like to possess such things in order to strengthen their control over their subjects, especially if it’s a religious icon. The one True Cross has a fantastical element to it, which is why Constantine’s mother, Helena, became a saint of the Roman Catholic Church.

According to tradition, Helena ordered the temple torn down and, according to the legend that arose at the end of the 4th century, chose a site to begin excavating, which led to the recovery of three different crosses. The legend is recounted in Ambrose, On the Death of Theodosius (died 395) and at length in Rufinus’ chapters appended to his translation into Latin of Eusebius’s Ecclesiastical History, the main body of which does not mention the event. Then, Rufinus relates, the empress refused to be swayed by anything short of solid proof and performed a test. Possibly through Bishop Macarius of Jerusalem, she had a woman who was near death brought from the city. When the woman touched the first and second crosses, her condition did not change, but when she touched the third and final cross she suddenly recovered, and Helena declared the cross with which the woman had been touched to be the True Cross.

Wikipedia: Helena, mother of Constantine I

So, just for fun, I am going to look at a chart for the recovery of the cross.

This timing is randomized, which means that aspects to the Ascendant, Midheaven and even the Moon are suspect. However, the slower outer planets would be very stable, and therefore more reliable.

Notice the Grand Trine linking Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune. That brings to mind the Star of Bethlehem but with the element of mythmaking attached. A Yod (Finger of God) is pointing at Uranus and formed by inconjuncts to the Sun and Saturn. (The Pluto/Midheaven inconjunct is just the luck of the draw, nothing more.)

In my humble opinion, ‘something’ occurred. What it is isn’t exactly clear. Spiritual work is nebulous at best, at worst it’s downright deceptive. Perhaps the world needed a little more faith in the reality of Jesus’ existence. Perhaps the One True Cross provided the ‘proof’ they needed. I don’t know for sure.

What do you think?

Nine Years Ago, I Stopped Using My 35mm Film Camera

Yesterday, I got the photos back from my experimental use of (and relearning to handle) my Yashica 108 MP (multi program) SLR camera. Most of them were humdrum, slightly out-of-focus, and rushed. But a couple stood out: the sleeping gnome (above); and Buddy living in my shadow (below).

If you’re interested in buying my camera and its lenses, I’ve put them on Facebook Marketplace for the cut-rate price of $100.

It’ll Be Two Thousand Years Since Jesus’ Exit in 2030

A Thousand Years Equal Half a Day

Sometimes, the information is sitting right in front of us, but we are blind to the implications. You might think I’m imagining this, but the two millennia since Jesus died is almost up. That sets up several events: the third Temple being built in Jerusalem (in 2030); the end of Satan’s rule over the Earth (in 2066); and the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven (in 2070). I’m not kidding.

Amen.
