Hell Hath No Fury

Scorpio-Scorpion-Tattoo-On-Girl-Side-Rib

Like a Scorpio Scorned

Did you ever wonder why I became an Astrologer?

Would you be surprised if I said it was because of a volatile relationship?

In 1977, I was living with Mona. Mona and I had been together since 1975, when she moved west with her daughter, Trina, to be with me after I separated from Judi and my son, Derek. I knew Mona had a bit of a fiery nature, but I never saw it for what it was until we’d lived together for that time.

The specifics of my eye-opening research didn’t begin until I answered an advertisement in a magazine which offered to send a 20 page printout of the applicant’s characteristics in exchange for their name, birth time, date and place, and $3.95.

I was skeptical until the package arrived. Then, I read every word, and kept saying, over and over again, “How can they know that?”

It was the start.

I went down to the Vancouver Central Library and looked up any books having to do with Astrology. There weren’t many. But what I found gave me the rudiments of erecting a birth chart, and the bare-bone descriptions of the different zodiac signs.

And wouldn’t you know it: Mona was a Scorpio!

That Night in February 1978

Mona and I weren’t getting on. And St Catharines in winter wasn’t much fun. I’d met Sue when she came into the Bank of Nova Scotia (Fairview Mall branch) as a customer. Then I quit working there. Some time later we arranged a meeting (and the backstory is too long to discuss here).

When I returned home from that meeting, I was met with a very upset Mona. She had threatened to throw my stereo out of the upstairs window. My return had stopped that. But then I went into our bedroom and found a curious thing. All my clothes were piled on the top cover.

I took the clothes and hung them back up in the closet. Then Mona sheepishly pulled back the top sheet of the bed. There, to my greater surprise, were corn flakes all over the bottom sheet. She had emptied a whole box.

I turned to her and said, “When I get my first unemployment cheque, I’m sending you and Trina back to Barrie. You can live with your parents.”

(The final nail in the coffin of our relationship was the torn photo of Judi and I at the CNE in 1967. I never did find Judi’s half of the picture.)

Chris CNE 1967

Conclusion

Some might think that I had a narrow escape, and that I got off lightly. I would agree with them. But I see a greater power involved here.

If Mona hadn’t reacted so fiercely, I might not have sent her away. And Sue and I would not have got together. Sue became my second wife, Suzann, later that same year.

Replacing the Hot Stove

pot-belly-stove-from-pixnio-dot-com

With Social Media

While reading through some Facebook comments this morning (I won’t bore you with the details as it was a post about Brett Kavanaugh), I suddenly flashed back to a childhood memory, which involved the old pot-bellied stove in the local general store in Dalston. That was where the farmers would go to discuss the news of the day.

In much the same way as people who comment on FB posts, these men would express their opinions, even though they may have been ill-informed and/or biased. It made for some lively discussions.

Today

We no longer get to look people in the eye when we disagree with them. Instead, we hide behind our avatar, and it seems that allows us to be as rude as we care to be. And the only comeback from others are ‘slings and arrows of outrageous fortune’.

We are no longer civil to each other, and that seems to be the reason our countries and other nations are divided along ideological lines. A two-party political system, like the one in the States, splits the population into polarized, partisan enemies.

The mud-slinging that ensues is not pretty to watch, and it certainly makes one pause before entering into the fray. (I wonder if that is what being a-frayed/afraid really means.) We all have opinions, but stating them can mean putting your head above the parapet; you’re asking to be shot at.

Conclusion

In the ‘old days’, the CBC (Hockey Night in Canada) commentators of NHL games called their intermission discussions the “Hot Stove League“. It had a friendly feel about it.

It may have been the warmth from the wood stove, but I miss those times. Now there’s nothing but heated debate.

As Mr Jory used to say to Mr Buey, who ran the Dalston General Store:

“Aw, hell, I don’t know…”

And Speaking of Narcissists

like-father-1

Something to do with Eyebrows

I was reading an internet article the other day that stated that a psychological study had found one common feature that was common to all narcissists: their distinctive eyebrows. The picture shown above is labelled “Like Father 1”.

And the recent news that Donald Trump got his financial ‘leg up’ from his father, Fred, and his tricky tax practices, doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. The Donald is proud of the fact that he pays no taxes. And this is the man the Republicans elected because he was going to “drain the swamp”?

The Final Straw

The night before last, Donald Trump decided he couldn’t hold back any longer about Dr Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony, so he decided to do one of his favourite party tricks: before an election-style rally crowd of ‘his people’, he mocked her truthful “I don’t know” responses.

He has obviously never been in a situation like hers, that night in 1982. How could he, he’s a man?

But the rest of the world saw a frightened 15-year-old girl in front of that Senate Judiciary Committee, and could recognize that they, too, would have blindly fled that scene, without being precisely aware of how they got home.

The rest of the world has empathy.

Conclusion

No matter what transpires with Kavanaugh‘s nomination, America should take note of the lack of empathy on the part of their chosen leader.

It feels like Adolf Hitler has come back to life.

Brett Kavanaugh: an astrological portrait

KavanaughBrettWREJC1

His Outburst was the Clue

You may recall that I reviewed the chart for Dr. Ford’s testimony last Thursday. The impression I got was that the Moon/Uranus conjunction in opposition to the Ascendant/Venus link seemed to be the main reason for that precise moment.

Because the hearing was so emotional for Judge Kavanaugh, I knew the Moon would be the trigger in his chart, and the pointer for the timing of his birth.

Other people have erected his birth chart without knowing his birth time, so their analyses have been general only. I have been more specific by rectifying his chart to a birth time of 12:40 am.

For those with eyes to see, let him see.

The Sins of the Father

trump-seven-sins

Are Visited Upon the Children

An interesting email popped into my account this morning. It was meant to be thought-provoking, and in a way it was. It was a series of statements essentially asking why affirmative actions by minorities are encouraged, but similar (and equally valid) actions by the white community are frowned upon.

In fact the word used most regularly in the email was “Racist”.

To the Third and the Fourth Generation

The politically correct (PC) way, that this present generation is trying to live by, is the result of European expansionism in the last 500 years. (It has been going on longer than that if you include Viking travels.) Europe ran out of room and resources, so they thought it best to conquer the rest of the world.

But the irony of that is the conquering action of the Moors before them, which was probably a result of the Crusades to the Middle East. (Do you get a picture of what was going on? Each time someone – say Genghis Khan – decided to conquer neighbouring lands, someone else returned the favour.)

If you want to blame the Romans for starting the whole conquering thing, the Greeks got there first.

Even the Old Testament Hebrews claimed someone else’s land as their own.

And that says nothing about Asians travelling over the land bridge from Russia to America, and becoming Native Indians in a new found land.

The Silent Majority

It is obvious that each country’s largest population is going to be in control of what everyone who lives there is allowed to do. That’s called democracy, in the West.

And diversity is encouraged, at least in some countries.

But other countries want everyone to blend in…

In Britain, for example, the immigration doors were open to Commonwealth members, as compensation for the impact of the English Empire on their homelands. But it seemed to get out of control when more Europeans started moving there, too, especially Baltic State citizens. Brexit was the result of the British people wanting to regain control of who could live within the UK borders. In some parts of Britain, you would be surprised at the mix of races there.

The United States has always had an open-door policy about immigration, as long as the people coming in became Americans. Recently, this has changed.

Conclusion

White people no longer feel any sense of superiority in their heritage. They are not allowed to feel pride for their past accomplishments. They are not encouraged to march in parades to support their preferences. Why?

Because when they do, they are racist.

Something has gone terribly wrong. The pendulum has swung too far.

Have We Entered the Twilight Zone?

the-twilight-zone

Opening the Conspiracy Doors

Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s tirade on Thursday afternoon brought some conspiracy theories into the public domain via our television screens.

Anyone who follows these theories finds most of them to be a bit ho-hum, but for others who have never heard of them before, this will seem confusing. Unless they are Republicans. Everything Kavanaugh said comes from their belief playbook.

“This whole two-week effort has been a calculated and orchestrated political hit fueled with apparent pent-up anger about President Trump and the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the Clintons and millions of dollars in money from outside left-wing opposition groups.” (Kavanaugh)

If David Icke or David Wilcock had made these claims, their words would have been written off as ravings of madmen. In other words, completely ignored as UNreal.

But Brett Kavanaugh is a hero of the Right side of American politics. To the Left, he is the ultimate enemy, to be stopped at all costs. That makes this process so fraught.

Conclusion

Is he suitable as a Supreme Court Justice? No.

If he really believes what he said last week, he is a paranoid narcissist.

“Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a personality disorder in which there is a long-term pattern of abnormal behavior characterized by exaggerated feelings of self-importance, an excessive need for admiration, and a lack of understanding of others’ feelings.” (Wikipedia)

How to Change History in Five Minutes

Two women confronted Senator Jeff Flake on his way to the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday.

They made a few provocative, and unproven, statements about Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s alleged behaviour in his teens. But the power of their personal stories, spoken in less than four minutes and thirty-five seconds, was enough to change Flake’s mind.

It was the best one-to-one confrontation since Job faced his Maker.

And potentially history will now go down a different road.

Wow.

It’s Just a Little Lie

8iEjn975T

Pinocchio’s Nose

The story of the wooden toy that turned into a human boy is an excellent metaphor for Brett Kavanaugh’s life.

But the only thing that’s different is that his nose doesn’t grow when he tells a lie. Instead, it sniffs.

You would have thought that he would have blown his nose earlier to avoid the post nasal drip response of choking back tears.

It drew attention to his nose, instead.

He Didn’t Watch Dr. Ford’s Testimony?

There is appoint (a point) to this post: if you are testifying under penalty, wouldn’t you ensure that what you said was the God’s honest truth, at all times?

This little lie, that he hadn’t watched the earlier testimony, doesn’t seem likely. If you were going to face a Senate Judiciary Committee, wouldn’t you want to know exactly what the other person said? Wouldn’t you want to make sure that you could refute her testimony?

When asked, Kavanaugh said, “No. I was preparing my own.”

What!? Hadn’t we already had reports that he was watching the proceedings from home, before he set out for the committee meeting? Honestly, that statement was not challenged by the Democrats, but it didn’t slip by some media commentators…

Conclusion

cf926d7d2eb7b5bb2dfe5a2aabe964f9

Jiminy Cricket would have had a hard time yesterday. When Pinocchio went off on his own for an ‘adventure’ he turned into a donkey (read, “braying ass”).

“Boys will be boys”, eh?

The small voice inside Kavanaugh’s head was being drowned out by his anger and defiant responses. He was rude, ignorant and disinclined to answer any direct questions with direct answers. He seemed like a spoiled Momma’s Boy.

That alone makes him unsuited to the US Supreme Court, in my humble opinion.

What do you think?

USA: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

HearingChristineFordWREJC1

…or Dr. Ford and Mr. Kavanaugh?

I often wonder if the timing of events is accidental, or divinely inspired.

Venus is almost exactly on the Ascendant. That conjunction is opposed by the Moon/Uranus conjunction. This is the most emotive combination in the history of the US Senate Judiciary Committees.

Do you understand what’s happening?

Women as Reliable Witnesses

thZDLG0VOG

When Dr. Christine Blasey Ford decided to come forward, she didn’t know the exact process she needed to go through. That was completely clear during her testimony today. She took a polygraph (lie detector) test, on the advice of counsel.

She looked at times like a deer caught in the headlights.

She was 15 years old when the events of that party in 1982 took place.

I suspect her demeaner is due to arrested development because of her trauma.

But that is not the important point. The important point is that since biblical times, women have not been considered credible witnesses.

Men have been in charge ever since

Judges have been judging since then. The men sitting on the bench have been mostly from the upper echelons of society. They know better (?) what is best for the rest of us.

The equality between the sexes has been sorely missing.

Is this the moment when that changes?

Conclusion

Judge Brett Kavanaugh was very emotional during his opening statement this afternoon.

He blustered against the ‘sham’ Democrat charges, and choked back tears, every time he mentioned his parents, his wife and his children. It was a performance.

Then the Democrats poked him a few times, and he exploded. This is the Moon/Uranus conjunction acting out.

He also tried, mostly successfully, to evade their questions. But did he convince me?

No.

Not the Reaction Trump Expected

948ef8956a619997f26b4b884398fefa.cf

Embarrassment

Yesterday, Donald Trump delivered a speech to the United Nations General Assembly. In other words, to world leaders from everywhere else.

As is his wont, he boasted about how good his administration is, compared to every other American government before him.

The audience laughed.

He wasn’t expecting that. His face went red.

The World’s Laughing Stock

Over and over, Trump has told his supporters that America is the laughing stock of the rest of the world, and that he is the man to change that.

His audience usually cheers and claps.

But, in an Instant Karma sort of way, he is the very first American President to be laughed at by other nations.

What does that tell us? (rhetorical question…)

Conclusion

This is usually where I say something like, “Be careful what you say; it could come true.”

Trump has spent the last twenty months upsetting his friends and allies, and trash-talking his enemies. At no time in recorded US history has any American President lost the respect of everyone in the world. Until now.

How the mighty have fallen.
