So Here’s a Thought That Wouldn’t Leave My Head:

Is “Sex Education” Just “Glee” on Steroids?

This thought was especially prominent during the song numbers.

(Ignore that Spanish overdub of dialog, I couldn’t find a clean song on the YouTube English channels.)

And this one, from Maeve’s mother’s funeral:

You have to watch “Sex Education” to see the raunchier songs.

Not Tonight, Josephine? How Life Comes Full Circle

Empress Josephine (June 23, 1763 – May 29, 1814)

Because the epic film “Napoleon” will be released to the public next week, I thought I’d take a look at Napoleon’s wife Josephine. IDK, call it a hunch, but immediately I saw who she could have returned as in the 20th century. These things tend to come back around every couple of hundred years or so.

This birth time is rated “C” for ‘accuracy in question’. Most of my charts are rated that way, too, so I’m going to go with that time. That Sun/Mars conjunction in the 1st House (of Personality) is interesting, especially as it is in opposition to Pluto in the 7th House (of Open Enemies). Hmm.

There are three inconjuncts, two of which form a Yod pointing at the Moon. That looks familiar.

Sun Inconjunct Moon

This aspect suggests that there is a subtle conflict going on inside you that may sometimes create emotional problems. The inconjunct aspect between the Sun and Moon means that the Sun part of your personality is quite different from the Moon part, and it may be hard for you to relate them to each other. It is as if you are divided in two, so that whenever you have to make an important decision, especially one that involves your feelings, the different sides of your personality want to go in opposite directions. You sometimes find it difficult to decide if you life something or if you want to take part in some activity.

Moon Inconjunct Saturn

This aspect usually means that your need for emotional security conflicts with your need to live with the world’s demands. Each of us needs to be accepted and loved for what we are, in order to have enough self-confidence to deal with the world. But we also have to learn to live with our own life situations in order to survive. In other words, we have to realize that we can’t have everything we want. With this aspect, these two needs are working against each other. Probably you will satisfy one of them at the expense of the other.

Jupiter Inconjunct Pluto

You may have a natural talent for dominating others, but don’t fall in love with this talent and be motivated by it. You can be effective at influencing people only if you use your power to help others and yourself achieve desirable goals together. You must be an agent for betterment at all times, and even so you must listen to others’ ideas about betterment to be sure that you aren’t seeking power in a more roundabout manner.

Do we have an equivalent individual in the present age?

Melania Trump (April 26, 1970)

I’ll bet you didn’t expect that, did you? Here’s my proof:

Can I have a Hallelujah?

Amen.

And Just When You Thought It Couldn’t Get Any Worse

Johnathan Buma’s Home Gets Raided by the FBI (Last Monday)

He is an FBI whistleblower. He has been asserting that he is being ‘punished’ for presumed insubordination. He reported to a Senate committee on July 15, 2023. Now he is being publicly humiliated and sidelined. Here is a YouTube video reading of that 22 page document to the Senate.

You be the judge…

As a DINO, Should You Adopt a No Labels Presidency?

Joe Manchin (August 24, 1947)

There’s been a lot of speculation lately that Joe Manchin is not running for the US Senate in 2024 because he’s wants to try winning the White House instead. He thinks, as a small ‘c’ conservative Democrat, that he can unite middle-of-the-road voters behind his cause. But, excuse me for saying so, isn’t ageism going to work against him, too?

Warning, this chart’s timing is randomized. (Most astrology sites use 12 noon, because his birth time is unknown.) What I like about this birth chart is the 12th House (of the Unconscious) Moon conjunct a Sagittarius Ascendant, which demonstrates his emotions running hot and cold at the same time. Perhaps he doesn’t have the temperament to be the President of the United States of America. There are no inconjuncts (in this chart), so no hidden agendas: what you see is what you get.

Let’s Take a Peak Ahead to Inauguration Day, 2025

Whoa! I didn’t expect to see so many inconjuncts between the two charts. This suggests too many problems to be overcome without a true sense of connection between the two. This is not a sign that Joe Manchin would win in 2024. But, as has been mooted by others, he may prove to be the spoiler for Biden and/or Trump, should they ultimately prove to be the presidential candidates for their parties.

We shall see…

What It Feels Like Returning to Your Home Country

As an Immigrant

With so many people in the world migrating to different countries because of wars, political prosecutions and famines, it might be informative to understand how it feels to be an immigrant.

In 2007, I returned to Canada after being 22 years in the United Kingdom. Fortunately, I had someone to come back to (having reconnected with Susan during the final six months away). Instinctively, I knew I would have an uphill battle getting back into the work force, but I never expected to be treated like a foreigner. That was a shock to my Canadian ego.

I suppose it’s slightly similar to the effect of moving to England in 1985. Fortunately, my second wife, Suzann, went 5 months in advance of my arrival, with our two girls in tow, and found us a lovely home to rent in Wokingham, Berkshire. So, I wasn’t having to find us a safe place to live. Also, British banks weren’t interested in hiring a middle-aged banker from Canada, so I had to reinvent myself as a bookkeeper/accounts clerk, by getting hired on as a temp from a temping agency. Fortunately, my banking experience was recognized early on and by autumn of that year, I started full-time employment with a construction company in Bracknell. I stayed with that company until 1989, when the construction industry took a downturn. In the meantime, Suzann and the girls had moved to Torquay and I commuted for three years back and forth to work (home on the weekends, back to Ascot during the week).

After my four year stint, I moved to Torquay to be with the family full time. I then tried my hand at Hypnotherapy, Astrology and whatever else came my way. Then I returned to full-time employment with a construction company in Torquay, in 1993, when I found that the bills weren’t being paid.

I’m going to stop the narrative at this point, because what happened next has been discussed in other posts. Suffice it to say that the highest point of my employment history was the salary I was making in 1989: GBP25,000 per year. I never earned that much again in the UK, and I never came even close to that figure when I returned to Canada. I muddled on through until I retired in 2015. Now I take home more in OAP and CPP than I was earning through those last few years of Canadian employment.

We now live in Midland, Ontario in our own home, which we purchased in 2015.

Who says you can never go back home again?

It’s Time to Catch Up with the Past

John Edward (October 19, 1969)

It’s been awhile: I started watching John Edward on his “Crossing Over” show in the early 2000’s. At the time, he represented the ‘real deal’ in the same way that Tyler Henry does now. I needed a catch-up:

I also have never done his birth chart, so I’m correcting that oversight, now:

When you see the aspects, it’s like an ‘a-ha’ moment. Of course he would have Neptune conjunct the Ascendant. Of course he would have a Mercury/Venus/Uranus conjunction in Libra. In fact, he has four planets and the Sun in Libra. There are three inconjuncts, two of which were triggered by Saturn @ age 14, the timing of his parents getting a divorce.

According to Edward, when he was 15 and “a huge doubter” (in psychic abilities), he was read by a New Jersey woman who convinced him that he could become a medium.

“She told me things that there is no way she could have known. And the first part of the reading was that this was the path that I was supposed to be on and that I was supposed to be a teacher and help people and – I thought she was nuts.” Speaking of the same encounter in a 2002 interview, Edward said, “She told me I would one day become internationally known for my psychic abilities through lectures, books, radio and TV. I thought she was full of it until she started to tell me things no one in my life knew about… The details were unbelievable.”

Moon Inconjunct Midheaven

Work very hard to develop an objective awareness of what you are doing and where you are going. You will need this understanding to guide your emotions, which might otherwise lead you astray and make it difficult for you to focus on your goals. Even though you won’t have to choose a career or a purpose in life for many years, you can learn how to have good perception, which will make it easier to choose later on. Learn to see others’ points of view, even if you cannot accept them. Learn to make logical decisions, and do not let passing moods color your attitudes about yourself and your life too much.

Mercury Inconjunct Saturn

This aspect can have several different meanings. First of all, you may have hidden fears that are difficult to express, but they cause you to do things that others can’t understand. These may include fear of the dark or of certain places or people. Or this aspect can mean that you often feel depressed and sad for no apparent reason. You tend to see the serious side of life, and it weighs on you more than on most people.

It is possible that your thinking will become unnaturally rigid for someone of your age. You may get into routines or habits that you are afraid to break, for you prefer familiar paths of life and known ways of doing things.

Saturn Inconjunct Uranus

Your parents should understand that sometimes you have to let go and act in an undisciplined manner. Otherwise you will go through periods of great turmoil when you become extremely nervous and tense, so that you have to suddenly release all the built-up emotional tension. This can be quite a difficult experience. And if this pattern of sudden disruptive emotional release continues into adulthood, it could be very disruptive in your career as well as in your personal life. If you have a problem, try to express it and talk to others about it instead of being stoical and keeping it to yourself. You can do this very well, but there are times when you need other people. Learning to handle people and the tensions that arise in relationships is important.

He Only Let His Mother Call Him Charlton

Charlton Heston: Hollywood’s Last Icon (2017)

My wife, Susan, saw this hardcover book at a thrift store yesterday and immediately thought of me. Isn’t she thoughtful?

I’ve read the opening three chapters of this story, and it’s not a lot different than his own version from “In The Arena”, except for the fact that a family relative disputes his claim of hunting rabbits in the woods as a child.

For the rest of her long life, Lilla tried to deny the emotional struggle of the early Michigan years of Heston’s life. In 1985, after published his memoir, she called Heston’s memories of those days “nonsense.” From an article in People magazine: “Charlton says his favorite childhood memory is ‘hunting rabbits.’ Mom says, “He never hunted a rabbit in his life!…As to his memory of himself as a ‘shy little country boy,’ she points out, ‘We lived in Wilmette [an affluent Chicago suburb).'”

Lilla Heston, People, August 19, 1985.

Honestly, it’s what kids do: make up an alternate version of their memories to imbue their lives with significance and an interesting backstory. In some respects, I did the same thing as a child.

I look forward to reading the rest of the book, and if something of interest arises, I’ll let you know.
