Those Who Can, Do; Those Who Cannot, Teach

Sex Education (2019-2023)

Yet another suggestion from Susan’s family: this Netflix series would have completely flown under my radar, mainly because its themes are so adolescent. But, like Firefly Lane, some 50-year-olds are looking ‘fondly’ on their high school years, and shows with this vibe are attractive. To me, they are too long ago and far away.

But, if you don’t mind laughing at the things teenagers get up to, then this show is for you.

It’s Time to Sort the Weak from the Strong in History

Following on from yesterday’s post comparing Alexander the Great and Napoleon Bonaparte, I thought about the quote in the film where Napoleon compares himself to both Alexander and Caesar. Hmm.

I believe that Vladimir Putin thinks he’s as great as these three conquering heroes of yesteryear. But is he? Notice that his birth chart has elements from all three, and on its own, this quad chart would suggest definite karmic relationships between them all. But Putin is not a commander out in the field, leading his army from the front: he’s a desk jockey, hoping to use rhetoric alone to inspire his men. It’s not working.

This is not going to turn out any better for Putin, than it did for the other three: ain’t Karma a b*tch!

And Speaking of Dictators…

Napoleon (2023)

Timely, non?

For some reason, the image of Napoleon sitting on his horse in front of the Sphinx reminded me that Napoleon was seeking to conquer the world, just like Alexander the Great. (And I may have heard a snippet of dialog that suggested the same thing.) That got me to thinking about comparing their birth charts:

I think there are a sufficient number of links between them to show that the spirit of Alexander was inspiring Napoleon to complete the work he started.

Enough said?

MIGA: Have We Learned Anything From History?

The Dictator’s Playbook (Episode 3)

Of course, I knew about Benito Mussolini’s Fascists, but I’d never analyzed how he came to power.

MIGA: Make Italy Great Again! Oh-oh. While I am suspicious of the MAGA echo, I think that this ‘proves’ that Donald J Trump is inspired by his admiration of Italy’s “strong man”. He also seems to take ideas from the Fascist’s playbook.

This list forgot the one that Trump uses best: the Cult of Personality. He has created followers who would follow him to the gates of Hell, if he asked them to: see January 6, 2021. But he’s done ‘nothing wrong’. Just remember how most dictators end up: dead and disgraced. No one is above spiritual law.

This One Looks More Like Reality

Mary Magdalene (July 22, 7 AD – 61 AD)

Painting of Mary Magdalene (by Leonardo da Vinci?)

Following Edgar Cayce’s lead, given in readings for #295 (Mildred Davis), I have reset Mary Magdalene‘s birth year to 7 AD, since she was 22 in the spring of 30 AD when Jesus brought her brother Lazarus back from the dead. (Sometimes, you just have to swallow your pride and go for it.)

Originally, I randomized her birth time, and then flipped the AM to PM. Her North Node is now sitting at about age 22 years, when Lazarus came back from his NDE. There are also three inconjuncts with only one not dependent on a correct birth time (for the day). Again, we must take all of this with a grain of salt. The one linking Uranus and Neptune hints at difficulties with altered states of consciousness.

By flipping the AM to PM, I saw the Moon in her chart move to 19° Pisces, where Jesus’ natal Jupiter is (as one half of the Star of Bethlehem configuration). At the same time, her Mercury is conjunct Jesus’ Midheaven. Is this why she is called Apostle to the Apostles? Plus, her Pluto is conjunct his Ascendant in Libra. There are other close connections, but these are the ones that stand out for me.

And, No, I Didn’t Forget Jesus’ Mother, Mary

The Virgin Mary (August 5, 22 BC – c. 41 AD)

I’m going the whole nine yards, here. Mary is another figure in history who might (or might not) have lived during the first half of the 1st Century AD. Her Saint Day is August 5th, and according to some traditions she was a young maiden (12-14 years) when she became betrothed to Joseph. One astrology site suggested her birth year as 22 BC, which totally coincides with her being almost 16 when she brought Jesus into the world. A young maiden equates to a virgin in those times. But I’m not here to prove or disprove a virgin birth.

Where the astrology site got 5:05 pm from is a mystery, but I suspect that the chart was rectified so that the Moon would line up with her being 12 years old when she gave birth. Therefore, the chart is slightly skewed, being later than it should be, perhaps by as much as half an hour. Still, that Yod pointing at Uranus (formed from inconjuncts to the Moon and Venus) is informative. There is also an inconjunct linking her Sun and the Ascendant (but I’m not relying upon that one).

According to Cayce, Jesus’ mother Mary was chosen by the Essenes at the age of four to begin intensive spiritual training lasting three years in preparation for the conception of the Messiah. Her election as the mother of the Messiah occurs during a special ceremony in the temple at Mount Carmel in which an angel leads her by the hand to the altar. Remarkably, this Cayce reading agrees with an apocryphal book entitled the Infancy Gospel of James where Mary is presented to the Lord at the age of three when her father Joachim “set her on the third step of the altar, and the Lord God gave grace to her … and she received food from the hand of an angel.” Cayce and the Infancy Gospel of James agree that Joseph was chosen to be Mary’s husband by lot. They also agree that Joseph was much older than Mary. Cayce gives their ages at the time of their marriage as thirty-six and sixteen, respectively. Cayce and the Infancy Gospel of James agree that Jesus was born in a cave.

File This One Under “U” for Unreliable

Mary Magdalene (10 BC – 63 AD)

It seems a bit of a cheek to even attempt this birth chart, but something tells me that it might be worth the try, anyway. July 22nd is her Saint Day, according to the Catholic Church (although that usually represents her death date) and 10 BC would make her four years older than Jesus, which is well within the realms of possibility. Mary Magdalene, I believe, was a real flesh and blood person. The timing is randomized.

Interesting aspects, are they not? I especially like the Venus/Pluto conjunction, just because.

Venus Conjunct Pluto

You need to be loved very much, but you also need to love others. The attachments you form are very strong, because you don’t take relationships casually. On one hand, this can make your life very rich, as long as the people you are attracted to are equally intense emotionally and are good in other ways as well. But with this aspect you may be attracted to people who are not very good for you or who do not have your best interests in mind. This is particularly so if you do not have much self-confidence or self-esteem.

The most important factor signified by this aspect is that you hope to transform the conditions of your life through relationships. Thus you feel that every strong emotional attachment is very important for your future. Just remember that you must pick only the best people as partners in these relationships.

Mary Magdalene’s Relationship with Jesus Christ

Her Jupiter conjunct his Venus? Puts it all into perspective. I think they knew each other in a past life (his South Node conjunct her Neptune and his North Node conjunct her Moon), probably in Ancient Egypt.

They Say “With Age, Comes Wisdom” but Does It?

Old (2021)

On a whim, we watched this film on Netflix last night. I wish we hadn’t, now, partly because we are getting old, and partly because I don’t like psychological horror movies, like “Signs”. However, we watched it until the end to see how it would finally be resolved, if indeed it would be.

But, I came away with one reminder of a truth, once spoken to me in the middle of a very trying time:

In a thousand years, none of this will matter.

But is that really true?

If I can still look back on events that happened 2,000 years ago, then it does matter to me, personally.
