Europe’s Alchemy Day (Yes, It’s a Thing…)

The Book of the Composition of Alchemy (published on February 11, 1144)

I thought it might be interesting to look at the day this book was published, to see what was in the heavens. The text of the book can be seen here.

I arbitrarily chose 9 am on the day in question, just to see what pops up. Of course, due to the Julian calendar date in 1144 being out by 7 days to our later Gregorian calendar, this day shows up, in our present time, as February 18th. There are two inconjuncts, perhaps indicative of the two cultures at work in Spain around that time: Islam and Christianity.

Moon Inconjunct Uranus

With this aspect you must learn to control sudden outbursts of emotion that occur at difficult times when you least expect it. Also your present home life may not be a stable situation in which you can grow up emotionally secure and confident. A particular incident when you were very young may have given you the feeling that you can’t count on anything or anyone for support. Later in life, you may try very hard to get away from anything that reminds you of your earliest childhood, even if your childhood has not been difficult. You just feel that you have to get away and go somewhere else.

You should be encouraged to express your inner feelings and release the tensions that build up within you. In this way you will not be hurt by energies that you aren’t aware of in yourself.

Venus Inconjunct Neptune

This aspect means that your attitudes about love and affection are very idealistic, as will become clearer later in life. Also it can be a sign of creative artistic ability if there are other indications of creativity in your chart. And, of course, you must begin the appropriate training while you are young.

This aspect will work out with the fewest problems if you get a great deal of emotional support from your parents and other loved ones. You are willing to serve, help and assist those you love, but you may honestly feel that you don’t deserve to be loved unless you are forced to serve your loved one in some way. This is because you feel that loving someone requires you to make sacrifices and to deny your own needs and that love may not necessarily make you feel good and warm.

(I leave it to you, the reader, to decide which aspect relates to which religious outlook.)

I am reminded, though, that the second inconjunct sounds very much like the concept of “Courtly Love” from the Age of Chivalry (1170 – 1220). Hmm.

How to Finally Get Those Unfinished Jobs Done

Charles Babbage (December 26, 1791 – October 18, 1871)

I must say, the book I’ve been mining for reincarnational links has been very informative, so far. But sometimes it feels like the connections are fantasy stories, especially this one, which features the “Father of Computers” Charles Babbage. (A similar dynamic links Elon Musk and Thomas Edison.)

Because birth times were in short supply in the 18th Century, I have randomized the time. As a result, I shouldn’t apply too much emphasis on Mars inconjunct the Ascendant. But the Moon/Mercury conjunction looks promising.

I’ve set the clock for 12 noon on Babbage’s date with death. The Moon/Ascendant conjunction may be something, or it may be nothing: both of them are inconjunct to Pluto. The other inconjunct features Venus and Neptune.

Would you believe that Ahtum Re connected Babbage to Steve Jobs?

Ahtun Re provided another reincarnation pairing which beautifully demonstrates how a soul can reincarnate to continue work initiated in an earlier lifetime. This past-life pairing involves Steve Jobs, one of the founders of Apple Computer, and Charles Babbage, the inventor of the difference engine and the analytical engine.

Semkiw, Walter. Return of the Revolutionaries (p. 142). Hampton Roads Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Steve Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011)

There’s a similarly posed effect to their portraits, but Babbage was at a more advanced age than Jobs.

That Yod pointing at the Midheaven formed from inconjuncts to Venus and Saturn is interesting. The degrees and minutes for those two planets are exactly the same. The Midheaven is only different by 9′.

Here is where astrology can be the ‘proof’ we need to see if this pairing is accurate or not.

Jobs’ North Node is conjunct Babbage’s ‘fatal’ Saturn and his natal Sun. Jobs’ Ascendant is 3° off Babbage’s ‘fatal’ Venus and 5° of his natal Mars. Babbage’s natal South Node is conjunct Jobs’ natal Moon. And Jobs’ Pluto is opposite Babbage’s natal Pluto. Jobs’ Part of Fortune is conjunct Babbage’s ‘fatal’ Sun/Midheaven conjunction (because of the noon time of death setting). Even Jobs’ Neptune is midway between Babbage’s natal Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in Libra. Finally, Jobs’ Venus is conjunct Babbage’s Moon/Mercury conjunction in Capricorn. Is that enough proof?

From the first computer pioneer to the last, the spirit directing these men has revolutionized our lives.

The Night that Started the Whole Spiritualism “Thing”

The Fox Sisters Communicate with a Dead Peddler (March 31, 1848)

On March 31, 1848, Kate Fox challenged the source of the rappings to repeat a pattern of noises she made with her fingers. The rapper complied, and a relationship was established between the ghost and the Fox sisters. Soon they established a code in which the spirit could answer questions, one rap for a yes and two raps for a no. A neighbor suggested that the sisters go through the alphabet and have the spirit rap when a desired letter was reached, so that the spirit could spell out words and sentences. Through this method, the spirit explained that he was formerly a traveling peddler who was murdered in the house and buried in the cellar. This report gained credence nearly fifty years later in 1904 when one of the walls of the cellar started to crumble and a human skeleton was exposed.

Semkiw, Walter. Return of the Revolutionaries (p. 141). Hampton Roads Publishing. Kindle Edition.

History Rewind has decided that this event was a complete fraud. Hmm.

In 1888, Margaretta confessed that their rappings had been a hoax and publicly demonstrated their method. Margaretta attempted to recant her confession the next year, but their reputation was ruined and in less than five years they were all dead, with Margaretta and Kate dying in abject poverty. Despite their confession, the Spiritualism movement continued to grow in popularity.

Wikipedia

But, if you look at the event astrologically, there are some interesting features:

I set the clock for 8 pm local time. The Ascendant is in the 1st degree of Scorpio, with an opposition to Pluto @ 26° Aries. The Moon and Neptune are exactly conjunct @ 1° Pisces, and in the 4th House (of Home). The North/South Node axis is between Libra and Aries @ 0°. This feels significant. There are no inconjuncts, so no hidden motives.

What do you believe?

The Fox Sisters Got a Bad Rap

Katie Fox (March 27, 1837 – July 2, 1892)

These three sisters were considered the ones that started the Spiritualist movement in the United States.

Would you believe that Katie Fox has returned from the dead? Let’s see if it’s true.

I have rectified her birth chart to reflect the age that she and her sister started causing raps in her family home (Neptune @ 11 years of age). That Yod pointing at the Ascendant from the Sun and Neptune seems to confirm the timing. The double inconjunct linking Uranus on the Descendant with her Mars/Jupiter conjunction was always going to be problematic, especially after becoming famous for their joint work. And the final inconjunct connecting Saturn and Pluto may have led to her drinking problems, which eventually led to her death @ age 55.

Since I don’t know what time Katie Fox died, I have set the death chart clock to 12 noon. There was only one inconjunct left, linking Jupiter and Saturn. The Moon in the 1st House ensured that her name would never be forgotten.

Who Did Katie Fox Return As?

An example of a case solved by Ahtun Re involves the medium John Edward, who has enjoyed great popularity on television. In a session with Kevin, I asked Ahtun Re who John Edward was in a past lifetime. Ahtun Re responded that Edward was one of the Fox sisters, who started the Spiritualism movement in 1848. Further research on my part allowed me to identify John Edward as the reincarnation of Kate Fox, a match that was subsequently confirmed by Ahtun Re. Spiritualism refers to the belief that spirits, those who have “crossed over” from life to death, can communicate with the living through various means.

Semkiw, Walter. Return of the Revolutionaries (p. 140). Hampton Roads Publishing. Kindle Edition.
John Edward

This is starting to sound like science fiction, doesn’t it? But it makes sense when you consider that one’s life work is completed in another time and place, through another individual. This time she became a man, John Edward.

That cluster of planets in John’s 10th House (of Career), starting with the South Node, seen as opposite Katie’s natal Mercury, shows that he is/was in synch with her thinking. And his natal Mercury is conjunct Katie’s ‘fatal’ Ascendant (as of 12 noon on her death chart). Even his birth Ascendant is opposite her birth Midheaven. Does it feel at all likely? I think so.

Now Katie’s spirit should be able to rest in peace, knowing that John Edward has made a believer in mediumship of many people in the 21st Century.

Bless.

Lightfoot Claims that Stephen Foster was his Inspiration

Stephen Foster (July 4, 1826 – January 13, 1864)

I’ve written about Stephen Foster previously. That post was triggered by a comment Gordon Lightfoot made about Foster being his inspiration as a singer-songwriter. I didn’t connect the dots at the time.

So, the 19th Century troubadour seems to have come back as the 20th Century troubadour. Lightfoot’s Mars is conjunct Foster’s ‘fatal’ Saturn and his natal Ascendant. Lightfoot’s Sun is (almost) exactly conjunct Foster’s ‘fatal’ North Node. In fact, the birth and death North Nodes in Foster’s charts are somewhat close to Lightfoot’s natal Ascendant/North Node conjunction, and within 2° of Lightfoot’s Venus. Hmm. This definitely is a reincarnational connection.

The eyes look similar, do they not?

It’s Not Often that an Actress Gets to Play Her Prior Life

Halle Berry (August 14, 1966)

This is yet another strange coincidence: Halle Berry was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born there in her prior life, too. Before we get to that life, let’s look at her birth chart.

Now, normally I’m suspicious of a birth time just 1 minute before midnight. They say it was from memory. Hmm. However, the Neptune on the Descendant, conjunct the South Node @ 20° Scorpio demonstrates that her prior life was probably as an actress, and that she was just continuing the journey.

Dorothy Dandridge (November 9, 1922 – September 8, 1965)

To die and be reborn within 12 months is not the usual way reincarnation works, but here it makes sense. If you left your life too early, you might want to continue the career trajectory as soon as possible.

Dorothy Dandridge‘s birth time is as quoted on her birth certificate, so I’m confident enough to use it. There is one inconjunct.

Venus Inconjunct Pluto

This aspect may mean that you are very possessive and demanding of your loved ones. You may not want to accept the fact that your friends can love other people besides yourself. Let your friends be themselves freely when they are with you, and try not to be too demanding of their time. Love for friends and relatives should be given freely, not used as a way to control them. If you do that, you will lose their love.

The timing of her death chart is based on the earliest instance that could have occurred: she was on the phone @ 7:15 am, and then called back 5 minutes later for a 10:00 appointment. (She was having problems with her foot.) Her death occurred sometime between 7:30 and 10:00. Notice that there were no inconjuncts for this time. The Sun, Uranus and Pluto had just transited the Virgo Ascendant.

Interesting matchup, eh? Now, some of the slower moving planets would not have moved on very far between Dorothy’s death and Halle’s birth. So, I’m going to concentrate of the more personal planets and lights: Dorothy’s natal Sun is conjunct her ‘fatal’ Neptune and Halle’s natal Neptune; Dorothy’s ‘fatal’ Sun, Uranus and Pluto conjunction is conjunct Halle’s Uranus and Pluto conjunction; Dorothy’s natal Ascendant @ 5° Leo 46′ is conjunct Halle’s Moon and Mercury conjunction; Dorothy’s natal Neptune is conjunct Halle’s Sun; and Dorothy’s ‘fatal’ Moon is opposite Halle’s Sun. Finally, Dorothy’s natal Mercury/Jupiter conjunction is opposite Halle’s Part of Fortune. That’s a lot of connections.

The symmetry between Dorothy’s birth and death speaks volumes, too: her natal North Node is conjunct her ‘fatal’ Ascendant; her natal Sun and ‘fatal’ Neptune we’ve already commented upon; and her natal Venus and her ‘fatal’ South Node is somewhat significant, too.

But the one I saved for last is a doozy: Halle’s Saturn @ 28° Pisces is conjunct Dorothy’s natal South Node. It kind of makes me wonder which life came first.

This really seems to be life imitating art and vice versa.

The byline says it all: “Right Woman, Right Place, Wrong Time.”

The Last “Gord” has Left the Arena

Gordon Lightfoot (Died May 1, 2023)

The Three AmiGords

The other two pictured here were Gord Downie and Gordon Pinsent. Gordon Lightfoot died tonight @ 7:30 pm.

After all this time, the ‘last Gord’ has played his last chord. It’s interesting that I’m looking at yet another ‘final’ Moon inconjunct Jupiter. Talk about synchronicity. The South Node transiting a Scorpio Ascendant is a signal of his next life. Pluto is at the Nadir. This looks like an appropriate time to leave.

Lightfoot’s natal North Node transiting a Scorpio Ascendant shows the symmetry of his full 84 years.

Is there anything else to say? Bon Voyage!

Will you ever heave a sigh or a wish for me?

My Prior Life Hint from Pierre Esprit Radisson:

When in Rome, Do as the Romans Do

Through my reincarnation research, I’ve had hints that seemingly come out of left field. This one was found in Radisson’s First Journal, chronicling how he escaped his adoptive Iroquois ‘family’ and returned to New France via New Amsterdam.

My poore sisters cryed out & lamented through the town of the flemings, as I was tould they called me by my name, ffor they came there the 3rd day after my flight. Many flemings wondered, & could not perceive how those could love me so well; but the pleasure caused it, as it agrees well with the Roman proverbe, “doe as they doe.”

The Proof This Time is a Repeating Aspect

Rev. William Walter (October 7, 1737 [OS] – December 5, 1800)

Nothing should surprise me, anymore. This reincarnation research has uncovered another connection, one that I’d never noticed before. But before we get to that, let’s look at the Reverend William Walter.

Admittedly, the timing of his birth chart is randomized to the time I started work on this connection. There is only one inconjunct, but it is under some time restraint, due to the quick movement of the Moon. I suspect that sometime in the afternoon of that day, the aspect would have disappeared.

Moon Inconjunct Jupiter

This aspect indicates that you have a positive, optimistic outlook on life, and you enjoy socializing with good friends. However, there are some dangers with this aspect. First, it can be a sign that you are self-indulgent and possibly even selfish, although this is not likely to happen if you have a good, strong relationship with your mother. You have a great need to be cared for and supported, to be accepted for what you are with no strings attached. If this need is fulfilled, the positive side of this aspect will flourish. But if your mother does not support your needs fully, you will feel insecure and will look elsewhere for support and fulfillment. In this case your concern will be totally for yourself with little thought for other people’s needs.

However, if you feel emotionally secure and accepted, you will be able to give others the support that you would otherwise have been seeking for yourself. You will help others in their times of need, share what you have with those who have less, and find great satisfaction in taking care of people and animals.

I note that the accidental Ascendant is in Sagittarius, but because his Sun is definitely in Libra, he would be loathe to upset anyone, trying to straddle both sides of the equation. This may be evident later.

I have set the clock for 12 noon on the day of his death. Pluto conjunct the Ascendant is indicative of his passing, and the added bonus of a double Yod pointing at them, formed by inconjuncts to Uranus, on the one hand, and the Moon/Jupiter conjunction, on the other, shows me that his unfinished business would wait for another lifetime when the stars aligned again.

Reincarnation Research Links William Walter with Neale Donald Walsch

Again, I am surprised and delighted as to how these two individuals aligned to each other.

The conjunctions are so close, at times, that they are unmistakably the same person, but in two different bodies, in two different era, and yet the same country. Unfinished business, to be sure.

For instance, Walsch’s natal Saturn is exactly conjunct Walter’s natal Saturn @ 25° Gemini 51′. Hmm. Walsch’s natal Jupiter is conjunct Walter’s natal Moon @ 15° Leo (in Walsch’s 12th House). Hmm, again. And Walsch’s natal Sun is conjunct Walter’s natal Venus @ 16° Virgo. Walter’s ‘fatal’ Uranus is conjunct Walsch’s natal Neptune @ 1° Leo, while Walter’s ‘fatal’ Saturn is within 2° of Walsch’s Leo Ascendant. If these two aren’t the same individual in two different personas, then I’ll eat my imaginary hat.

When you look at Walsch’s birth chart, the Moon and Jupiter inconjuncts have expanded to include other connections. Maybe those “Conversations with God” are a continuation of Walter’s communication with the Divine. Maybe, they’re not.
