The “Least Successful” British Prime Minister in History

Anthony Eden (Jun 12, 1897 – Jan 14, 1977)

The title might seem a little cruel but Eden stood on the threshold of a new world situation, but decided to use World War II tactics to defeat his enemy, Nasser, over his seizing of the Suez Canal. It didn’t work, and Russia got a toehold into the Middle East, and the Western oil companies were held to ransom (nothing new there).

Again, this birth chart was already in my Kepler 7.0 computer program, so I have left the birth time as originally set. That Mars/Ascendant conjunction could explain Eden’s belligerence when it came to his reaction to Nasser.

But, the Moon/Pluto inconjunct may tell the hidden (background) story.

Moon Inconjunct Pluto

This aspect means that your emotions are very intense and not always easy to deal with. Often your feelings make you want to do or say something without knowing why. Also you may have very intense moods in which you withdraw from those around you into a world of your own. This should not be a very serious problem unless you have been brought up to have all sorts of fears and worries. In that case your actions will be driven by your fears, and you may behave quite strangely. If you do not feel accepted and emotionally supported at home, you may constantly feel guilty for what you think you have done to others, or jealous that people aren’t paying enough attention to you, or generally possessive of those around you.

You should talk about your feelings to someone you really trust, for otherwise the pressure of your emotions will build up too much. You must be made to realize that at some time everyone has those dark hidden thoughts that you think are so horrible. You are not alone, and you must learn not to blow these ideas up to be more important than they are.

You probably enjoy exploring the mysterious and probing hidden secrets. Even while you are young, you will understand human nature better than most people, but to use this ability positively, you must b reasonably calm about your feelings.

[And, just to see how this could play out in the past, this aspect could be his use of Benzdrine.]

A Man Destined for Greatness

Winston Churchill (Nov 30, 1874 – Jan 24, 1965)

Most people think this man saved the United Kingdom from being overrun by Nazis during World War II. But as always, he didn’t do it alone. His words did.

The timing of his birth is usually set @ 1:30 am, but my Kepler 7.0 computer program has it set @ 1:39 am, so I’m going to leave it there. What that means is the Ascendant moves from the last degrees of Virgo to the first degrees of Libra. Interesting.

Yes, and there’s a Yod (Finger of God) pointing at Pluto. I wonder what that means for Churchill?

Venus Inconjunct Pluto

With this aspect you must learn a great deal about the kinds of friends you want and the kinds of experiences you will have through other people. Even while you are still young, you may meet persons who are quite difficult to get along with, but who seem to be impossible to get away from, even when you want to. You may be fascinated by such persons, or circumstances may force you to stay with them. These people do have a definite role to play in your life, but it may not always be a pleasant one. They will teach you something about life or about yourself.

However, you don’t have to put up with difficult or unpleasant relationships, because if you think about it, you will realize that you are drawn to these people in order to fulfill your own hidden emotional needs. Think about what you really want from others so that you can find it in a better relationship. And if you encounter people who won’t allow you any freedom, which can happen with this aspect, then avoid them.

This aspect may also mean that you are very possessive and demanding of your loved ones. You may not want to accept the fact that your friends can love other people besides yourself. Let your friends be themselves freely when they are with you, and try not to be too demanding of their time. Love for friends and relatives should be given freely, not used as a way to control them. If you do that, you will lose their love.

[Stalin comes to mind.]

Jupiter Inconjunct Pluto

You have a great deal of creative power, and the major challenge of your life will be learning how to handle it. First of all, you must realize that you will get the most out of life if you direct your energies toward helping the people around and those you love. You will want to change many conditions in the world, which is fine as long as your reasons are not purely selfish ones.

If you use the energies of this aspect selfishly, you will have serious conflicts with authorities, persons in power and adults in general. You may try to make changes before you have learned how to do so creatively, without provoking such resistance that your efforts are blocked. To be effective, you must have the necessary skills.

You may have a natural talent for dominating others, but don’t fall in love with this talent and be motivated by it. You can be effective at influencing people only if you use your power to help others and yourself achieve desirable goals together. You must be an agent for betterment at all times, and even so you must listen to others’ ideas about betterment to be sure you aren’t just seeking power in a more roundabout manner.

Even at best you will get a certain amount of resistance from others, because they will feel your energy and be afraid of your motives. Unless you show them that your motives are good and that you can be reasoned with, you will run into opponents who are more powerful than you, who will stop you and make your efforts futile.

Queen for (Many) a Day

Queen Elizabeth II (Apr 21, 1926)

Now, I’m not going to be quite so cheeky this time: I have great respect for our Queen. She has been on the Throne for almost all my life. And the insights I’m getting from The Crown are helping me to see the woman that she is, more clearly.

There are two inconjuncts in Her Majesty’s birth chart. That makes sense when viewed as Divine energies made manifest. Shall we look together?

Moon Inconjunct Venus

You need to be loved, even more than most people, particularly by your mother or another woman who takes the place of your mother. This need for love will be the force behind many of your actions. If you don’t find the love you are looking for, you will develop an insecure hunger for love from everyone you meet. However, you may express this in very strange ways, such as a desire for food, especially sweets, which unconsciously represent love to you.

There is also the danger that if you spend so much time and effort trying to get what you need, you will not be able to give love to others. Thus this aspect can mean that you indulge yourself and expect others to do everything for you. Of course, if people think that you are looking at things this way, they will not be inclined to help you. That will drive you to seek love even more and make the pattern even stronger.

On the other hand, if you are given all of the love you need while you are young, that is, if you are loved totally for yourself as you are, you will develop confidence in that love. Then you will be able to love others, and the more love you give to others, the more you will get in return. However, there is a catch. You cannot give love solely because you expect to get it back, for people sense this and are put off by it.

Neptune Inconjunct Ascendant

This aspect can be a sign that you feel you must give way to others in order to get along with them. This can take two forms, both of which will be difficult to handle while you are young. The less positive form is simply yielding to all outside pressure and always giving in to others’ desires. This will produce unconscious feelings of resentment that you can’t express, but that make your relationships with others rather difficult. And as you get older, if you do not learn to stand up for your rights, this problem will get worse, because you express your unconscious resentment as a martyred attitude, which makes it impossible for others to appreciate or use anything they get from you. Thus the results of your sacrifice are totally negative, because you are not happy with giving and they are not happy with receiving.

But the other, more positive, way of dealing with this energy is by giving freely before others try to take it from you. In order to do this, you have to feel good about yourself and confident that you will always have enough for yourself and others. One side of you likes to help and take care of people and will not feel taken [advantage of] by those whom you give to. In the highest expression of this aspect, what you gain for yourself will not mean as much as what you gain for others, which is the effect you should work for.

On another level entirely, you should be very careful of your health because you are unusually sensitive to certain elements in your environment. You may not be able to handle certain foods or drugs — even prescribed drugs should be handled with care — and you should avoid letting your body become weak.

King for the Common Man

George VI (Dec 14, 1895 – Feb 6, 1952)

This is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but aren’t the royals just like everybody else? They are born, they live and they die. End of story.

It also means that royals have birth charts, like this one for Albert Fredrick Arthur George Windsor, which means that astrologers can peek behind the royal curtains.

Saturn Inconjunct Neptune

This aspect is strongest when either of these planets is also conjunct or opposition to the Ascendant or Midheaven. It can have a variety of effects, one of which may be difficulty in relating fantasy and imagination, on one hand, to reality, duty, obligation and work, on the other. Usually the reality, duty and work aspects of the combination is dominant, at least at first. Your imaginative side tends to be transformed into nervousness, fear and irrational anxieties. The most negative manifestation of this aspect is a feeling that you have to keep a tight lid on yourself and that if you look inside yourself too closely, you will find only emptiness and disintegration. It is difficult for you to realize that this is not the truth about your inner self.

IF you do not learn to confront your inner fears now, they may surface as chronic physical ailments, although that is not likely to be apparent early in life. If you can learn to release your creativity, you can avoid negative physical effects.

On a more everyday level, this aspect can signify that even as a young child you did not indulge yourself very much, preferring simple food and unpretentious surroundings. You feel that anything more elaborate would be wasteful and wrong. This attitude is likely to be even stronger when you are an adult, especially if your parents now instill in you a very puritanical attitude toward material enjoyment. Another danger of this kind of teaching by your parents is that it can lead to feelings of guilt and inner unworthiness, which could really make it difficult for you to succeed in life.

The Proof is in the Royal Pudding

The stammer that George VI suffered since his early childhood never went away, and yet he could bypass it with anger or song. He kept a lid on it most of his life, but being King didn’t make it very easy for him, especially when it came to public speaking. Suffice it to say that, in spite of his chronic physical ailment, George VI was a man of the people, and his legacy lives on in the life of his daughter, Elizabeth II.

It All Depends on Your Perspective

The Parallax View (1974)

When posting a photo on Facebook of a small bug on my window pane, today, I used the terms perspective and perception, relating the bug’s point-of-view to our limited understanding of what goes on in the world around us. It’s not the bug’s fault that it cannot comprehend other realities, any more than it’s ours. Then I was reminded of this film, starring Warren Beatty.

We are brainwashed in so many subtle ways that we cannot distinguish fact from fiction. This film speaks to that paranoia.

Is it any wonder that we, the older generation, are considered Conspiracy Theorists because we’ve seen this bullshit time and time again, and we’re trying to wake the younger ones up to this (un)reality?

What the Heck is Pluto Going to Be Doing to Me?

I am mindful, at all times, that the planets are going about their various movements, without them being remotely interested in me personally. And that is as it should be.

As an astrologer, it is up to me to map those movements and look for ‘interesting’ alignments (as in, “May you live in interesting times”).

Such is the effect of Pluto transiting Capricorn at the moment. Looking back on a recent post, I noticed that Pluto was ‘close’ to my ‘natal’ Mercury. Oh-oh!

By itself, this transit would have been stressful anyway, to say the least, but then I noticed the Yod being accentuated in the combined charts of this future date (June 26th 2020, early in the morning). It’s pointing at my ‘natal’ Venus in Aquarius and the inconjuncts involve the transiting Sun and Moon. At the same time, transiting Uranus is inconjunct my ‘natal’ Mars and transiting Saturn is inconjunct my ‘natal’ Uranus: is there going to be an accident of some sort?

But there’s more.

The second time (on January 1st 2021) that Pluto transits my ‘natal’ Mercury (this time directly, not in retrograde), there is a Yod pointing at the transiting Neptune (in Pisces), and the inconjuncts are my ‘natal’ Neptune and Pluto. That sounds like a mental health warning sign, not necessarily for me, but for someone close to me. I am mindful, as well, that the timing of the transit chart II has the Ascendant conjunct my ‘natal’ Neptune, doubling the effect. On second thoughts, this ‘warning’ is meant just for me.

Maybe I should reach out to a couple of astrologer friends, and get them to interpret what will be going on. Anyone interested in sharing what they see?

In the Search for Fame and Fortune

Three reality TV shows featuring singing contestants concluded their latest seasons during the same week. The finalists were stacked in favour of the boys (at a rate of four-to-one) in each show. Two of the shows ended up with the girls winning.

…In This Time of COVID-19

Each show usually relies upon the audience for voting and enthusiasm, so when two of them had to be socially responsible and broadcast from the contestants’ homes, history was made. Only The Masked Singer got to play out in front of their previously recorded ‘live’ audience. I’m not sure if the lockdown innovations worked, but it certainly changed the shows’ dynamic. These shows may never seem the same again.
