Star: 6 – The Sun: The Local Star (part 2)

Some people have a problem with the fact that Jesus seemed to have a ‘fun’ side to his personality. Perhaps utilizing his Chinese Astology sign will help us to understand this.

Push-Me-Pull-You

Let us now discuss the fact that Jesus was born in the Chinese year of the Goat. According to Suzanne White in The New Astrology, the combined influence of Capricorn and the Goat on an individual gives a “push-me-pull-you” effect which causes a lot of internal anguish, because the Goat is so sensitive and Capricorn is ambitious.

I hesitate to say that this person is a born leader. Yet, despite all the whimsy and the flimsy, this character is a veritable monument of magnetism. Properly applied, the blend of wise Capricorn and sensitive Goat is unbeatable. There’s something about the very disparity of characters involved that creates a synergy capable of uncanny attraction. The inventiveness of Goat can best be put to material use by the steady Capricorn. If the combination works, that is if Goat is controlled most of the time by Capricorn, the charge is electric, to say the least.

Capricorn-Goat

Capricorn Goat

Two separate issues about Jesus are resolved by understanding the conflict between the oriental Goat nature and the occidental Capricorn personality:

What’s most delectable about this person is that although he is an almost religiously strict Capricorn, he knows better than all other Capricorns how to let loose. In his off-duty moments, you would guess him to be a wild-eyed Taurus/Dragon or at least a murky Scorpio. He loves to dance and sing and generally carry on. Capricorn/Goats have huge reserves of charisma.

Now the tax collectors and “sinners” were all gathering around to hear him. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there is more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” (Luke 15:1-7)

The Dancing Savior

Jesus Dancing

An alternative source about the other side of Jesus’ nature can be found in Stephan A. Hoeller’s Jung and the Lost Gospels, Chapter 7 “The Dancing Savior”:

All of the {bewildering number of characterizations of Jesus today} demanding our attention are based on what until recently constituted the only evidence concerning this mysterious figure, namely the New Testament. And the New Testament evidence itself is confusing and contradictory. Some of the canonical Gospels portray Jesus as quite human, even sensuous: “The son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘behold a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners’” (Matt. 11:19). His association with women is represented as causing a scandal: “And they marveled that he was talking with a woman” (John 4:27). “There were also women looking on from afar…and also many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem” (Mark 15:40).

This contradiction, the author explained, could be best understood if the idea of the Gnostic Christ is accepted as the basis of Jesus’ behaviour: The task of the messianic messenger was to help human beings discover who they truly are, and to assist them in overcoming the inimical cosmic powers and rejoin the fullness of the true light. “Salvation” thus became synonymous with “liberation,” and the way to this state was envisioned not as consisting of faith but of interior liberating experience facilitated by the teachings of the Liberator and by the sacramental mysteries he entrusted to his followers.

The Five Initiations

imagesOSAES4L5

Mystery Religions

So, liberation from the earth required a Sun in Capricorn individual to demonstrate, by example and teaching, the five initiations. According to Errol Weiner, from Transpersonal Astrology:

A human being has to undergo five major initiations to achieve Mastery over nature. This was the deeper significance of the life and teachings of Jesus, for the birth, baptism, transfiguration, crucifixion and resurrection represented these five initiations.

From Jung and the Lost Gospels: It is perhaps no exaggeration to say The Gospel of Philip is primarily a manual of Gnostic sacramental theology, in other words, an account of the Gnostic mysteries. The fountain of these mysteries, according to this gospel, is Jesus himself:

The Lord worked all things as a mystery; a baptism and an anointing and a eucharist and a redeeming, and a bride-chamber. (68)

I believe that the above listing of the five mysteries in a more accurate rendition of the initiations which Jesus’ chart represents as the points of the pentagram:

1) baptism = primordial water (birth) = Moon/Cancer;
2) anointing = spiritual fire (baptism) = Mars/Aquarius;
3) eucharist = transforming earth (transfiguration) = Pluto/Virgo;
4) redeeming = sacrificial fire (crucifixion) = North Node/Aries;
5) bride-chamber = revivifying water (resurrection) = Venus/Scorpio.

Five-Pointed Star

I intend to utilize the five-pointed star on Jesus’ birth chart to show the actual path of the spiritual initiate as a human being. But in order to do so, may I remind you that the “normal” method of drawing out a five-pointed star involves a series of lines beginning at the top, connecting to the right “leg”, then the left “hand”, then over to the right “hand”, back down to the left “leg”, and then returning to the top position? This will prove to be significant later when we discuss Venus.

Once a person receives his energy from the Sun, it must be used. That is where Mars comes into the picture, the subject of our next chapter.

Star: 6 – The Sun: The Local Star

In astronomical terms, our sun is considered a local star, in the same way that others are distant stars. In terms of vibrational energy from the Universe, everything that comes to us is focused through the sun and filtered through the planets.

A Prophet Without Honor?

Because we think of this star as only our sun, we forget that it is part of a larger system of stars known as the Milky Way. And yet, our parochial view is proper in that our solar system is insignificant compared to the majesty of the visible Universe. But the visitation of God’s messengers to the shepherds proclaiming Jesus’ birth 2,000 years ago is sufficient proof that we are important enough to have a Saviour sent to us for our (eventual) salvation.

Jesus left there and went to his home town, accompanied by his disciples. When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.

“Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given him, that he even does miracles? Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son, and the brother of James, Joses, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.

Jesus said to them, “Only in his home town, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor.” (Mark 6:1-4)

Jesus is a Capricorn

Keep Calm

Jesus was born when the Sun was in Capricorn which is a Cardinal Earth sign. If ever there was to be a human to lead us to our destiny, he would have to prove, first of all, that he was from the earth and not just a spiritual being who deigned to “visit” us.

According to Nicholas deVore in his Encyclopedia of Astrology, the symbolic interpretation of Capricorn is: A goat with a fish’s tail, signifying extremes of height and depth; changes wrought by time; union of the Christian and Jewish dispensations. The sign of Initiation, of Cosmic Order and Justice, wherein the Individuality is developed, and humanity fulfills its obligations to others.

Second Decan (11-20 degrees): Martyrdom; dauntless, again and again it comes back for more; by indefatigable effort, scaling heights of success.

According to Jan Spiller and Karen McCoy in their excellent book Spiritual Astrology:

Sun In Capricorn individuals feel they have the right to authority, to govern and control others in terms of establishing order; to be respected for their achievements and position.

The Disciples as Zodiac Signs

unnamed

12 Signs

In “calling” his disciples to him, Jesus demonstrated that he was an able organizer and administrator, very Capricornian traits. But, in doing so, I think he showed that there was something symbolic going on as well. I believe he was delegating his authority along the lines of the astrological signs.

Aries: Peter, the fiery, impulsive, changeable, pioneering leader.
Taurus: Simon Zelotes, the dogmatic, determined zealot.
Gemini: James “the lesser”, slow to accept the authenticity of the Messiah, but became the eloquent preacher of the church in Jerusalem.
Cancer: Andrew, the sympathetic home body.
Leo: John, the most beloved apostle.
Virgo: Philip, always precise, calculating, inquiring, and practical.
Libra: Bartholomew-Nathaniel, the innocently pure one “in whom there is no guile.”
Scorpio: Thomas, the doubting skeptic, yet bold and courageous.
Sagittarius: James, the great teacher, who with Peter and John became the spiritual leaders of the early church.
Capricorn: Matthew, the tax gatherer, the politician, the one in authority in the governing seat in Rome.
Aquarius: Thaddeus-Jude, who sought to better the living and working conditions of the masses; and who interrogated Jesus at the Last Supper as to how he would manifest himself.
Pisces: Judas Iscariot, who when he succumbed to temptation suffered pangs of remorse.

Clement charmingly called the twelve Apostles the Twelve Months of Christ, who himself was the Year of our Lord.

Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his throne in heavenly glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.” (Matthew 19:28-30)

The Son in Capricorn

sun_in_capricorn

Sun in Capricorn

Jesus humbled himself by becoming human, a carpenter’s son, to demonstrate to the common people that they too could aspire to the kingdom of God. This demonstration of the rewards of humbling one’s self reminds me of the way Jesus settled an argument among the disciples as to which of them would be the greatest:

Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him. Then he said to them,“Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For he who is least among you all — he is the greatest.” (Luke 9:47-48)

The fact that Jesus “humbled” his spiritual Self in the “earthly” sign of Capricorn, which is ruled by Saturn, the most restricting of all the planets, is confirmed by the author of Transpersonal Astrologer, Errol Weiner:

If one understands that Capricorn is the doorway into the higher kingdom of the soul or Christ self, and that this entrance symbolizes the birth of Christ-consciousness in and through the personality, then one can understand that Christ Mass (or Soul Mass) is the time when individuals, groups, families, nations and humanity overall should be celebrating the reality and birth (manifestation) of love, light, joy, purpose, community, sharing and goodwill. It is an inner celebration of Christ-consciousness and not the celebration of the birth of the physical form of Jesus. The Christmas tree itself is the symbol of ‘the tree of consciousness’. This tree has seven lights (the seven chakras) and at the top of this tree is a five-pointed star or angel, both symbols of the higher Christ self. This self is actually referred to in the ancient wisdom teachings as ‘the Angel of the Shining Presence’.

There’s that five-pointed star again. However, I disagree with the author in that I don’t see it as symbolic of the higher Christ self, unless one means that in the sense of the perfected Wo/Man. He does however make an interesting case for Capricorn’s purpose which is to act as a ‘doorway into spirit’:

The entire winter cycle of Capricorn to Pisces is an inward cycle of personality withdrawal and spiritual conception. It can therefore be a time of personal negativity and depression, for the soul is at its ascension (so to speak) and the lower self at its descension. The winter cycle is therefore the most spiritual time of the year for it is the quarterly cycle in which we are attaining the highest degree of individual fulfillment (Capricorn), and in which we are also sharing what we have attained and received (Aquarius and Pisces). The Capricorn cycle is the time of the year when the mental seeds of Aries (Spring) have reached their highest degree of spiritual flowering. Physical and spiritual labor both take nine months, with birth occurring in the tenth month (Capricorn).

Star: 5 – Uranus: The Enigmatic Star (part 2)

Something is buried in the landscape around Rennes-le-Château in the South of France. But what? Treasure? A tomb? The Holy Grail? “It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.” (Winston Churchill)

Stars on the ground

David Wood’s vision of the union of a six-pointed star with a five-pointed star as a seven-pointed star (6+5=11) at Rennes-le-Château in the Languedoc region of the South of France is discussed at length in Genisis:

The next step was to apply this geometry to the ground in the hope that it would expose the identity of the controlling features. This it did in a most convincing manner. I plotted the regular equiangular triangle and found that the north-easterly arm went through the Pierre Dressée and then directly into the summit of the mountain of Montredon which had been the confirmatory point fixing the north wall of the Temple. The other arm was equally impressive; it passed through the church of Luc-sur-Aude to the summit of Pech de Luc, forming the perfect 60° triangle. Once again I was alerted to the occult significance of the names. Luc could be Lucifer — light; and Aud in occult teaching is the union of the Ob (Hebrew) and the Od (Hebrew). These are the entwined serpents of Astral Light and signified by the Caduceus. I knew another great secret was nearby. First I needed to find the controlling circle.

I had noticed previously that the Château de Blanchefort was midway between the apex and the intersection of the legs of the pentagram. Taking Blanchefort as center, I described a circle and the result was surprising. Travelling clockwise it passes through the survey beacon on the summit of Le Laplégadou, to the intersection of the pentagonal legs, to Rennes-le-Château, to the church of Luc-sur-Aude and back to the pentagonal apex. The triangle it had contained was a regular 60° one, but it conformed to my interpretation of the star union, the one which was condensed. Then I noticed something which was most strange. The circle had ‘cut off’ the right hand of the pentagonal arm. I recalled the words of Jesus in Matthew V, verse 30. ‘If thy right hand offend thee, cut it off’ and the Peste d’Azoth by Poussin had confirmed it. I drew a new line from the apex of the pentagram to the severed position and could hardly believe what I saw. It now passed precisely through the female head rock of Toustounes. This had to be confirmation of the interpretation. I then noticed that the innocuous Château Blanchefort adopted a totally different character when seen as the guardian force at the center of the hexagram; from here it was the beast, the demon guardian of the first coded cipher…

The Speed of Light?

The Pentagram and the Meridian

If ever I was sure of anything it was now. This point was on a line of features which were staggering: the tiny cemetery of Coustaussa, the Château Serres, the Poussin Tomb, the Pierre Dressée and the famous Château d’Arques again. There was also a geometric intersection; the line passed through the intersection of the Paris meridian and the side of the triangle which cuts off the right hand.

And what of the position itself? The angle at Rennes-le-Château between it and the pentagonal arm was 28° the number of Nephtys with whom we have identified the church. Set was also demonstrated, for the angle formed by the intersection of the axes was 56°. Even the number of Thoth or maybe the beast was evident; it was the angle generated by the intersection of the sides of two triangles of the hexagram, 66°. Here are miracles enough for anyone, but there are more. The line which joins this new secret location to the position of the seed is exactly parallel to the Paris meridian. Then it struck me that both of the unbelievable lines of features which had led to the secret locations had originated at the Château d’Arques. I measured the angle between these two lines. It was 36°! At the new location I checked the angle from the seed to Château d’Arques which had passed through the tomb of Poussin, it was 99° and you will recall there were 99 stones in the completion of the temple and that was the distance from the ground to the top of the tomb in inches after we had completed the construction. But the tomb had shown us something else, the speed of light. I measured the distance from Château d’Arques to the new location. It was the speed of light in inches!

Echoes of the Priory of SION?

the-magdalen-tower

The Magdalen Tower

My mind reeled at what was implied. I found the seed in the womb of the circle of light and now I had found the center of light. The seed in the womb of Isis and the means by which to activate it — the harmonic of Set — the Typhon — Satan.

Was this staggering secret of the Astral Light of the alchemists with the serpent (the Ob) lying at nearby Peyrolles, the massive Serpent Rouge? Could now I have found the final secret? Could there be an harmonic of light which will unite the super conscious mind to the conscious? A gateway to the infinite wisdom of the gods who created us in their image…

The lesson of the labyrinth is now clear. There are parts of entity which linear science will never see, no matter how far the tangents are reflected. But to see beyond the veil, to break through the circle of the abyss is within our reach.

If these are the secrets of Rennes-le-Château! What is buried there?

Disruption of services

Temple of Solomon

Later we shall see if what is buried there is actually just the symbol of the creation of Intelligent Life, as a combination of the spiritual and the animal, a sort of balancing/harmonizing of their energies, or a physical version of the fabled Temple of Solomon.

Or is there something else: some enigmatic relic? In Jesus’ birth chart, Uranus is located at 3° Pisces in the 5th House — is this a reflection of the 503 which showed up in those calculations of the original Greek phases? On the astrological circle, Uranus is situated at degree 333— surely this means Jesus had spiritual awareness of death and rebirth.

According to the authors of Spiritual Astrology: Those born in the generation having Uranus in Pisces have the ability to receive intuitively from the planetary mind new pinnacles of understanding that have the effect of dissolving all previous knowledge. The way will be cleared for change and revolution, to make way for renewed ideals for humanity. Disruption occurs by holding on to old belief systems and old perceptions of reality.

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me, Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” (John 8:42-47)

Baptism of Fire

imagesXTST1OGD

Pentecost

As I mentioned earlier, Uranus, according to the author of Transpersonal Astrology, is the inner ruler of Libra…Uranus rules Aquarius and thus the future and its unfoldment in the present. Amazingly, we now have a clear link between Uranus (spiritual energy) in Pisces (water sign), Jesus’ Libra Ascendant (balance scales) and Mars (fire element) in Aquarius (water-carrier/air sign).

The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Christ. John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” (Luke 3:15-17)

In Physicians of the Soul, Robert M. May discusses the issue of the different baptisms spoken of by John the Baptist in reference to Jesus: What is the difference between these two “baptisms,” the one “of water” and the one “of fire”? On the symbolic level, what is “water”? It is the Unconscious. To be baptized with water is to return to the Unconscious Depths, to the “maternal Womb,” for the purpose of being reborn. But the “water” alone is not sufficient. What is needed is the “fire” of the Spirit. It is found only after one has made the regression back to the Maternal Depths. It was of this “fire” that Jesus spoke with the learned Pharisee Nicodemus, when he said, “You must be born anew.” It was this “fire” which came upon the disciples on the Day of Pentecost as “cloven tongues like as of fire.” This is the light of enlightenment.

Nicodemus came to Jesus at night

imagesIH9DR329

Nicodemus

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, unless a man is born again {from above}, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

“But,” said Nicodemus, “how can a man be born when he is old? Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!”

Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You may hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:1-8)

Notice that Nicodemus came to Jesus at night, under cover of darkness. He is re-enacting the emergence of the soul from ignorance (darkness) into knowledge (light), which is the domain of Uranus.

According to the author of Jung and the Lost Gospels: Were the Gnostics radical dualists as some have inferred? Is it true that they divided all being into two categories, beneficent light and evil darkness, and envisioned the purpose of the true life to be simply the liberation of the light from the darkness? No, say The Gospel of Philip: The light and the darkness, life and death, the right and the left, are twin siblings of each other. It is impossible to separate them from each other. Thus the good are not truly good, nor the evil evil, nor is life life, nor is death death. Thus each one of these will be resolved into its origin as it was in the beginning. But those who have risen above the world, these are the ones who are indissoluble and eternal. (10)

The symbol of earth, the balance of positive and negative energies, is emblematic of electricity, which is ruled by Uranus. But all our energy comes to us via the Sun, the subject of our next chapter.

Star: 5 – Uranus: The Enigmatic Star

Whenever there is an enigma, alternate methods must be utilized to ‘understand’ what is going on. In Jesus’ case, astrology seems to have been the basis of his understanding of life and other people.

The Temple Visit…

Every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the feast, according to the custom. After the feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. Thinking he was in their company, they travelled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him: “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”

“Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know that I had to be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he meant.

Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. (Luke 2:41-52)

…at twelve years of age

imagesN0J06DHS

At twelve years of age

There’s that term, ‘understanding’, which will be important for our journey through Jesus’ life. Because his age (12) is mentioned, you can be sure that it is a significant clue: 12 being the number of inches in a foot, for example, or the number of astrological signs.

From The Star of Bethlehem Mystery: In ancient Babylon and Israel, however, there was a strong belief in the power and usefulness of astrology, and even Jesus was regarded as having considerable knowledge of the subject. The report of the twelve-year-old Jesus ‘sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them and asking them questions’ when the holy family had made their annual trip to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover is told succinctly in Luke’s Gospel, but it is greatly elaborated in the Arabic Gospel of the Savior’s Infancy. In this the young Jesus sits in the temple ‘among the teachers and elders and learned men of the sons of Israel, to whom he put various questions upon the sciences and gave answers in his turn’ (verse 50). Verse 51 continues: ‘And a philosopher who was there present, a skillful astronomer, asked the Lord Jesus whether he had studied astronomy. And the Lord Jesus answered him and explained the number of the spheres, and of the heavenly bodies, their natures and operations; their oppositions, their aspects, triangular, square and sextile; their course, direct and retrograde; the twenty-fourths and sixtieths of twenty-fourths; and other things beyond the reach of reason.’

Annual Journey of the Sun

solstice

Solstice Moon

Initially I was confused by the reference to the ‘twenty-fourths’ and the ‘sixtieths of twenty-fourths’, thinking they had something to do with the Lunar Months, or the Arabian Pars, and then it dawned on me, literally: Jesus was speaking of the division of the day into 24 hours and each hour into 60 minutes! He did, therefore, have the ‘understanding’ of the significance of 12.

From Genisis: The 360 day voyage of Earth around the sun must determine the degrees of the circle. Whether Earth ever performed such an orbit is irrelevant. The actual orbit was numerically close enough to equate with that which the symbolic geometry demanded. The actual relationship between the diameter of the circle and its circumference posed the same problem, and it is for this reason that the symbolic value of π being 3 was chosen, and demonstrated in the Bible. But what of the rotation of the planet itself? It was essential that this cyclic motion be divided into units, the number of which would form a bridge between the progression of numbers which were the invariables of geometry and celestial cycles. It was the only area of free choice available and, for those who have the ‘understanding’, it could only be 24, with sub-divisions of 60. Following the most elementary use of 24 certain revelations occur; the divisions of the circle of 360 by this number produces the manner in which the circle of churches at Rennes is divided (360 divided by 24 = 15). The division produces the 15 of Osiris…

That number 15 is his number before he was killed by his brother Set who scattered his parts to the four winds. Isis found 14 of them, and put him back together again. Unfortunately, the missing bit was his phallus.

SION

imagesHEMZNKCR

SION

This is what H.P. Blavatsky wrote about Osiris in her Theosophical Glossary: The greatest God of Egypt, the Son of Seb (Saturn), celestial fire, and of Neith, primordial matter and infinite space. This shows him as the self-existent and self-created god, the first manifesting deity (our third Logos), identified with Ahura Mazda and other “First Causes”. For as Ahura Mazda is one with, or the synthesis of, the Amshaspends, so Osiris, the collective unit, when differentiated and personified, becomes Typhon, his brother, Isis and Nephtys his sisters, Horus his son and his other aspects. He was born at Mount Sinai, the Nyssa of the O.T. (See Exodus xvii, 15), and buried at Abydos, after being killed by Typhon at the early age of twenty-eight, according to the allegory…

Of the many supreme gods, this Egyptian conception is the most suggestive and the grandest, as it embraces the whole range of physical and metaphysical thought. As a solar deity he had twelve minor gods under him — the twelve signs of the Zodiac. Though his name is the “Ineffable”: his forty-two attributes bore each one of his names, and his seven dual aspects completed the forty-nine, or 7 x 7; the former symbolized by the fourteen members of his body, or twice seven. Thus the god is blended in man, and the man is deified into a god.

Den of Thieves

temple_

Den of Thieves

According to the Encyclopedia of Astrology: Uranus is deemed a higher octave of Mercury. Often fails to know his own mind, but is moved by providential circumstances; often a fatalist who considers his destiny beyond his control.

Naturally inclined to be variable, spasmodic, impulsive, prophetic, and heroic, under restriction — even that of an inferiority complex — it becomes eccentric, refractory, bohemian, fanatical, anarchistic, and given to hurling sarcastic invectives at anybody or anything on any pretext and without provocation.

Uranus is eminently the planet of science and invention, particularly aviation, electricity, and astrology.

Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money-changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “’My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it a ‘den of robbers.’” (Matthew 21:12-13)

This reminds me of Jesus’ phrase ‘the abomination that causes desolation’ of Matthew 24:15 which in Greek is το βδελυγμα τηζ ερημωσεωζ 370+485+508+2158=3521 (503 x 7) (value 2). This is the second time we have seen the value 503, the other time as it related to ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, I am the Beginning and the End’ of Revelation. Last time it was multiplied by 8 and signified completion (10) and unity (1); this time it is multiplied by 7 which signifies division (11) and creation (2). All this seems to have been confirmed by David Wood’s vision of the union of a six-pointed star with a five-pointed star as a seven-pointed star (6+5=11) at Rennes-le-Château in the Languedoc region of the South of France.

Star: 4 – The Ascendant: The Star of the Magi (part 2)

Jesus in Revelation said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.” What could he be meaning when he says that? Was he Adam in the beginning? Perhaps.

The Desired Son

In a book called Many Happy Returns: the Lives of Edgar Cayce, the author, W.H. Church, postulates a theory upon the “Life Readings” of America’s ‘Sleeping Prophet’ that Adam (Jesus’ first physical life) arrived in Eden during the Age of Virgo, implying that the procession of the Astrological Ages will culminate in the Age of Libra.

In the sign of Virgo, Bullinger {in his obscure book, The Witness of Stars} shows that the name of this sign in Hebrew is Bethulah, which means “a virgin,” and in the Arabic, “a branch.” This introductory theme is skilfully developed with numerous biblical quotations, moving on to celestial facts. For instance, the first constellation in Virgo is Comah, meaning “the desired,” or “the longed for.” The more ancient zodiacs, Bullinger tells us, pictured this constellation as a woman with a child in her arms… In fact, in more precise symbolic terms, we learn that the Egyptian name for the constellation of Comah was Shes-nu, which translates “desired son.” Next, in the constellation of Boötes {the Shepherd} (we are still in the sign of Virgo), golden Arcturus is interpreted as meaning “He cometh,” alluding to the Christ… Finally, then: If Cayce foresaw the Age of Libra (circa A.D. 10,641 to 12,800) as our ultimate destination, does this mean that Adamic man will reach his final fulfillment and spiritual regeneration in that age of judgment?

I am Alpha and Omega

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.” (Revelation 21:5-6a)

In Greek, that last statement is written εγω το αλφα και το ω, η αρχη και το τελοζ. The value of the letters is 78+370+632+31+370+800=2371 & 8+709+31+370+535=1653 with a grand total of 4024 (503 x 8) {total value 10}. The Greek letters ΙΑΩ (IAO) total 811 (value 10).

Q: When did Jesus become aware that he would be the Savior of the world?
A: When he fell in Eden.

The End?

At the End

In Jung and the Lost Gospels, Stephan A. Hoeller quotes from the Gospel of Thomas: The disciples said to Jesus: Tell us how our end will be? Jesus said:Have you found the beginning so that you ask about the end? For where the beginning is, there will be the end also. Blessed is he who shall stand at the beginning and he shall comprehend the end and he shall not undergo death. (18)

The meaning of death presents one of the great haunting questions of human life. Jesus tells us here that death, the end, ought to be viewed not as an isolated phenomenon but as part of a process.

If they say to you: “From where are your origins?” say to them, “We have come from the Light, where the Light has begun through itself”… If they say to you: “Who are you?” say: “We are his children and we are the chosen of the Living Father.” If they ask you: “What is the sign of your Father in you?” say to them: “It is a movement and a quiet.” (50)

This is a most important saying inasmuch as it deals with the definition of the identity of the Gnostic disciple. The Gnostic knows that he originates in the fullness, where the supreme light of primordial divinity dwells. The elect are those who know themselves as emanations of the supreme light. “Movement” stands for the principle of dynamic change as evidenced in becoming, realizing, living; whereas “quiet” may be taken to signify the pleromic state of equipoise. Becoming and being, out-breathing and inbreathing when balanced and consciously realized constitute the hall mark of true Gnosis within the individual.

Isis

imagesCUGIVO5Y

Isis

To me, this refers to the Aries-Libra axis of the horoscope, Aries being dynamically active, and Libra being quietly balanced. Their respective rulers, Mars and Venus, when combined represent all of humanity, male and female. If the “number” of Mars is 4 and Venus is 5, then the two values combine to make 9, the number of “pregnancy and death”, in other words, dynamic “movement” and equipoise “quiet”. The number 9 is also considered the mystic’s number, as evidenced by the ninth card of the TAROT, the hermit. In addition, 9 x 9 = 81 gives the reflection of 18, Isis’ active principle.

According to David Wood in Genisis, 81 is necessary for proper “understanding”: The reflection of the active principle of Isis — a number which established the law and order of the origin of numbers. It acts upon the cardinal points of the circular compass representing space to produce the ‘building blocks’ of the language of the gods.

90 divided by 81 = 1.111
180 divided by 81 = 2.222
270 divided by 81 = 3.333
360 divided by 81 = 4.444
450 divided by 81 = 5.555
540 divided by 81 = 6.666
530 divided by 81 = 7.777
720 divided by 81 = 8.888

The significance of this to the people who devised it is obvious, particularly of the last expression. The system will not produce 9, which signifies death. The reciprocal of 81 is 123456790, — 8 is missing, for the reflection of Isis cannot reflect her body.

In Isis Unveiled, H.P. Blavatsky wrote: The Egyptian hierophant was given a square head-dress, which he had to wear always, and a square, without which he could never go abroad. The perfect Tau formed of the perpendicular (descending male ray, or spirit), a horizontal line (or matter, female ray), and the mundane circle was an attribute of Isis, and, it is but at his death that the Egyptian cross was laid on the breast of his mummy.

A “Movement” and a “Quiet”

Earth Symbol

A “movement” (|) and a “quiet” (—), in a circle, combine to make the symbol of Earth, the tenth position on the Tree of Life of the Kabbalah; the 1 and 0 of the binary number system which we use to signal “on” and “off” in electricity {and computer programming}. All this proves that when you mix “masculine” Spirit (positive) into “feminine” Matter (negative) you get a positive result in this three-dimensional world: Intelligent Life. So Jesus’ Ascendant, being Libra, implies just that. But his life is still an enigma, the subject of our next chapter.

Star: 4 – The Ascendant: The Star of the Magi

The Star may have been a conjunction between two planets. Jupiter and Saturn are symbolic of Church and State, When they come together, the Priest-King is born.

Selfhood

As a concept, a person’s birth chart represents the soul’s blueprint for the building of that life in the three dimensional reality of earth. The Ascendant is therefore symbolic of the individual, the goal of the personality; or as the Encyclopedia of Astrology puts it. Representing Selfhood, its primary significance is Action: Destiny in the making.

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We have seen his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” (Matthew 2:1)

The phrase “seen…when it rose,” an alternative to the more usual translation of “saw…in the east,” is given in the footnotes of the New International Version. It seems to me this signifies two different but connected ideas: one, that the physical image of a Star had appeared on the horizon prior to their visit; and, two, that the Magi were astrologers who had drawn up his birth chart based upon the timing of that Star’s appearance.

Jupiter and Saturn

images

Jupiter Saturn conjunction

In his book, The Star of Bethlehem Mystery, David Hughes used the investigator’s process of elimination to narrow down the margin of error inherent in searching for the historical timing of an event from the past:

From our historical investigation of the time of the birth of Christ we can conclude that the second appearance of the star, which led the Magi from Jerusalem to the newborn baby Jesus at Bethlehem, occurred in 7 BC. If we consider all the possible errors inherent in this calculation we must extend the possible birth period to one between early 8 BC and late 6 BC…

One suggestion is that the star of Bethlehem was a triple conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter. These two planets, which are members of the Sun’s solar system just as our planet Earth is, occasionally appear to come together in the sky. This is a slow process: they approach each other. Usually stay together for a time and then separate. When they are together they are said to be in conjunction. On more rare occasions Saturn and Jupiter come together not once but three times, in about a year, to make a ‘triple conjunction’. One of these occurred in 7 BC, between May and December, which is exactly the time when we think Jesus was born.

Furthermore, as the year passes, the planets rise earlier and earlier in the morning and spend longer and longer in the sky until by mid-September they rise in the east as the Sun sets and then they stay in the dark sky all night, setting in the west at dawn. After September the planets are not seen to rise, for they do this in the afternoon when they are invisible on account of the daylight. They also set earlier and earlier until eventually, by March 6 BC, they set at dusk and again can hardly be seen… The 27 May 7 BC conjunction has a separation of 0.98 degrees. The planets then part, reaching a maximum separation of 2.9 degrees by about 28 July. The second conjunction occurs on 6 October and the third on 1 December, and between these two the planets only separate slightly. These conjunctions have a separation of about 0.98 and 1.05 degrees respectively and the maximum separation of the planets between these two occurs about the end of October and is only about 1.2 degrees. There is a distinct possibility that the Magi and any other astronomer of those times would simply not notice this slight parting and would conclude that there was just one conjunction during October and November, followed by a speedy separation of the planets.

In the chart I have erected, Jupiter and Saturn are still about 2° apart, but soon after they separated further and to the casual observer the “Star” would have seemed to disappear.

Libra is the balance…

images

Virgo symbol

Returning to the concept of the Ascendant’s role, there is contained in the birth chart information which, correctly interpreted, can assist the individual to return to a state of equilibrium. This I believe is the kingdom of God: perfect balance, combining the qualities of goodness and evil, while existing simultaneously in heaven and Hell.

Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God does not come visibly, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21)

The Ascendant of Jesus’ birth chart is Libra, the Balance Scales, used to weigh the souls of the dead to see if they have lived perfect lives.

“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48)

…between Virgo and Scorpio

untitled

Scorpio symbol

Errol Weiner, in his book Transpersonal Astrology –– Finding the Soul’s Purpose, states that: Libra is the sign of rest for it exists in between the two conflicting signs of Virgo and Scorpio. Bringing spirit/higher consciousness into matter (Virgo) and transforming and raising up matter into spirit (Scorpio) are both labors of struggle, conflict and pain. The 4th Ray has strong rulership in Virgo and Scorpio. In between these two signs sits Libra, for its energy is that of balance itself. This does not mean that Librans (Rising or Sun) are always in a state of peace and harmony, but that these qualitative energies are available to Librans…

Venus and the 5th Ray are the outer rulers {Uranus and the 7th Ray are the inner rulers.} It is interesting to note the difference between Libra Rising and Sun Libra. Libra Rising people (when awakened) are highly intuitive and revolutionary in their thinking and activities (Uranus), whereas Libra Sun people are very logical and pragmatic, and desire traditional security in their relationships (Venus and the 5th Ray of the concrete mind)… Astrologers must therefore look to the placement of Uranus in the chart in interpreting the inner significance of Libra and the 7th house.

We will be doing just that in the next chapter, but first let us discuss this Virgo/Scorpio connection. Originally, these two signs were joined together as one, when there used to be only ten (10) signs in the Zodiac. When we look at a larger view of each of their respective glyphs, it is visible how they joined together…

Star: 3 – The Moon: The Death Star (part 2)

Jesus was born to his destiny: to be King. Unfortunately, no one understood that his kingdom was not of this world, as we know it. The Kingdom of Heaven was “within”.

The Shepherd King

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. (Luke 2:8-19)

The Moon is also symbolic of how the individual views his own mother. In Jesus’ case, he would have seen his mother as very nurturing and maternal because his natal Moon is in Cancer, the sign it rules. The symbol of Cancer may be representative of the joining together of a male and female spermatozoa. And as his Moon resides in the Tenth House, his career was mapped out for him in advance, by his mother. As she was of the lineage of David, he was to be a new Shepherd King.

Overcoming family dependency

Shepherds in the field abiding

The Encyclopedia of Astrology states that: From this arc {tenth house} one traces the native’s business or professional life and affairs, his honor, preferment, fame, credit, reputation, career, and position in society; hence his standing before the world. From this arc inferences may be drawn concerning his relations with those who are more or less in authority over him … ordinarily his mother in that here racial consciousness and what may be termed the “national soul,” becomes an entity.

Also, because Jesus’ Moon is in Cancer, he can be seen as having come from the Primordial Water of life, with definite links to the past. In Spiritual Astrology, the authors have stated that the Moon in Cancer person, working dynamically, needs to sacrifice emotional demands. This is because of past lives:

Past lives spent in situations of enforced dependency on family members have resulted in a basic insecurity and fear of needing to be taken care of by others. You fear needing someone else’s sympathy to survive. There are active subconscious past life memories of having sustained a physical injury or handicap that prevented you from being able to take care of yourself…; or you fear becoming too old to take care of yourself or having to rely on family members to do things for you.

Such memories lend urgency to your need for an emotional “parent” figure to rely on for protection and care. Thus, family is extremely important in this incarnation and is subconsciously related to basic survival. This insecurity results in unhealthy patterns of manipulation through dependencies, clinging, and controlling family members by being overprotective.

The lesson here is to enjoy the nourishment of intimacy and empathy without accompanying debilitating bondage. To do this you must learn to rely on authority within yourself. Past tendencies to cling need to be redirected to “clinging” to goals and ideals that are larger than your personal life. Then the sense of dependency will shift to depending on yourself to hold true to your goals and ideals.

Since you are learning that there is a “higher authority” you can depend on to take care of your needs, you are able to release family members from these debilitating dependencies. In this way you open yourself to experiencing true intimacy and loving closeness because the clinging attachment has been replaced by an atmosphere of freedom, support, and confidence in your family member’s ability to achieve great heights and to take care of themselves.

Jesus’ comments about family

images

They are family

As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.”

Jesus replied, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

He said to another man, “Follow me.”

But the man replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”

Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”

Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.”

Jesus replied, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:57-62)

The authors of Spiritual Astrology also decided that a Moon in the 10th House individual needs to know that: Emotional security can be gained by involving yourself in public activity that will bring personal recognition and a position of authority, and by acquiring positions of authority where you can organize others.

“Anyone who loves his father or mother than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” (Matthew 10:37-39)

The Gospel of Thomas sayings

index

Gospel of Thomas

Here Jesus is specifically saying that if someone dies for his sake, it shall not mean death, but life eternal. This seems to be contrary to our normal thinking which makes us hang on for dear life no matter what. The matter may become clearer if we examine a number of secret sayings of Jesus as quoted in Jung and the Lost Gospels, in particular these ones from The Gospel of Thomas:

I took my position in the midst of the cosmos and in the flesh I did appear to them; I found them all drunk, I found none among them thirsty. And my soul was afflicted for the children of men, because they are blind in their hearts and do not perceive that empty they have come into the world and that empty they seek to exit from the world again. But now they are all drunk. When they have shaken off their wine, then will they turn around. (28)

If those who lead you say to you: “Behold the kingdom is in heaven,” the birds of heaven will enter therein before you. If they tell you: “It is in the sea,” then the fish will enter before you. However, the kingdom is within you and it is also outside of you. If you know yourselves, then you will be known and you will know that you are the children of the living father. But if you have no knowledge of yourselves, then you are in poverty and you are poverty. (3)

If the flesh has come to be because of the spirit, it is a wonder, but if the spirit has come to be because of the body, that is a wonder of wonders. But I wonder how such a great wealth has come to dwell in this poverty. (29)

He who knows the all but fails to have self-knowledge lacks everything. (67)

If you bring forth what you have within you, that which you have will redeem you. If you do not have it within yourselves, that which you do not have will kill you. (70)

Again, I am reminded of the fact that the horoscope is the plan of each individual’s “kingdom of heaven”, and ignoring what is “written in the stars” there could be disastrous: because ignorance, in this instance, is not bliss. To live outside of your own understanding is like being separated from your ‘higher self’ — a kind of living hell. There is a purpose to life: to me every day represents an opportunity to integrate my little “I” self with my higher self, a chance to regain the state of being we call ‘Paradise’. Because the Moon represents the Unconscious, it is our lifeline to the past. And because the Birth of an individual (the first Initiation, esoterically Baptism), viewed from the ‘other side’ of life, is actually the death of the spirit, I have used the same term in the title of this chapter about the Moon.

Star: 3 – The Moon: The Death Star

The physical birth of an individual, viewed from the ‘other side’ of life, is actually the death of the spirit. That is why this chapter is called “The Moon: The Death Star”.

The First Initiation

The Moon is symbolic of the first initiation, Birth, and traditionally, the Archangel Gabriel is connected with the Moon. According to A.T. Mann’s Life*Time Astrology scale, the Annunciation would have taken place about six-and-a-half months before Jesus’ birth.

In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her,“Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.” (Luke 1:26-33)

But when was Jesus born? There are many theories. John Chrysostom (345-407 AD, as reported in The Star of Bethlehem Mystery, was the first to inaugurate Christmas as the 25th of December in 386 AD:

Chrysostom assumes that John the Baptist was conceived in September and he counts six months forward to arrive at April as the month of the conception of Jesus. From here he counts nine months to December, the birth month of Jesus. This of course assumes that Jesus was a nine months baby, but this is not certain. The early writer Epiphanius, for example, was convinced that Jesus was only in the womb for seven months. The Egyptians held the same view, Jesus being in this respect similar to Osiris, who was also said to have been born seven months after conception.

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken for the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in strips of cloth and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. (Luke 2:1-7)

When was Jesus born?

The Nativity

According to Edgar Cayce in his Story of Jesus, the details of his birth can be read in the Akashic records:

Yes, we have the information that has been indicated respecting some of the events surrounding the birth of Jesus, the son of Mary, in Bethlehem of Judea.

The arrival was in the evening — not as counted from the Roman time, nor that declared to Moses by God when the Second Passover was to be kept, nor that same time which was in common usage even in that land, but what would NOW represent January sixth.

In the evening then, or at twilight, Joseph approached the Inn, that was filled with those who had journeyed there on their way to be polled for the tax as imposed by the Romans upon the people of the land. For, those had been sent out who were to judge the abilities of the varied groups to be taxed. And each individual was required by the Roman law to be polled in the city of his birth.

Then there was the answer by the Innkeeper, “No room in the inn”, especially for such an occasion. Laughter and jeers followed, at the sight of the elderly man with the beautiful girl, his wife, heavy with child.

Necessity demanded that some place be sought — quickly. Then it was found, under the hill, in the stable — above which the shepherds were gathering their flocks into the fold…

Just as the midnight hour came, there was the birth of the Master. (5749-15)

Why the 6th of January, 6 BC? Actually, the answer is quite simple with respect to the date: according to tradition, Jesus was born at midnight of the 25th of December, which means that we still celebrate Christmas at about the right time, date-wise, but when the British calendar was converted from the Julian to the Gregorian, 11 days were suppressed in 1752. It is probably this fact that accounts for our continuing to refer to the 12 days of Christmas. The Greek Orthodox Church still uses the Julian calendar and Christmas is celebrated by countries under its sway as the 6th of January.

The year is not as simple: evidently, the Star of Bethlehem must have been a conjunction of two visible planets, Jupiter and Saturn. The only year around that time in which this conjunction took place three times was 7 BC. Originally, I had a theory that the “Star” appeared after the conception at the Vernal Equinox (21st March) and carried on until a short time after Jesus’ birth, effectively the nine months of his gestation period to 25th December, but reading David Hughes’ book, The Star of Bethlehem Mystery, has made me realise that the first appearance of the “Star” was on the 27th of May, and that it stayed visible for seven months, Jesus’ actual gestation period.

Proof

Trinity College Library Dublin

In addition, the “proof” of the correctness of the date (originally, 25-12-7 BC) can be shown through the use of Numerology: the digits of the date add up to the number 17 (2+5=7, 1+2=3, 7 alone; 7+3+7=17) which, according to Linda Goodman’s Star Signs, represents the Star of the Magi. When these two digits are added together, the result is 8, the number of the Christ, seen as a man (head, feet, and two arms) on an equal-armed cross. And the figure 8, turned on its side, is a symbol for infinity.

Furthermore, 8 has always been associated with the Egyptian Goddess, Isis. According to David Wood, in his excellent book, Genisis: The First Book of Revelations, 8 is: the number of the body of the supreme goddess Isis, daughter of the spirit-entity Nut, but born of flesh. Symbolized by the entwined serpents forming the double womb of infinity. The spiral lemniscate.

The legends of this deity indicate that she is the most perfect of all creatures of animal flesh. Every ancient culture recognized and revered her under one name or the other. She sustains life, and her number is also the atomic number of the element oxygen, an essential of any life process. When oxygen unites with hydrogen, water is formed, giving us 18, the number of her active principle. The goddess of a thousand names, the most abundant, as Oxygen is the most abundant element on earth.

Her star is eight-pointed and is identical to the star of the beast, but it is rotated to bring single points to North, South, East and West, a movement of 22.5°. This figure conceals many secrets, including the enigmatic 17… The star is seen to contain 17 enclosures.

The five-pointed star

FiveElementsCycleBalanceImbalance

Pentagram

However, the image which appears almost subliminally within Jesus’ birth chart is a five-pointed star. David Wood goes on to discuss this very powerful symbol which he discovered in the landscape near Rennes-le-Château:

The reader will recall that the complete pentagram, by Christian standards, is a symbol of evil, whereas to Gnostics it represented not only purity but supreme power. As a body with only five appendages it is female, as are all things associated with this number. The Hebrew number 5 (Hé) is symbolized by the womb. It would be difficult to give any logical reason why Christianity went to such lengths to degrade the female image while at the same time showing reverence for the mythical Virgin Mother, but most students would readily agree that she was the Christianized version of Isis. It seems that the authors of this story placed themselves in a very awkward position of having to produce a human body for Jesus without admitting to a human sperm having been used to fertilize a virgin in the first place.

Once we accept the possibility of any form of ‘seed’ being used, we automatically accept the presence of a father and to cast the Creator in this role would be ridiculous. IT would require no auxiliary equipment to create anything IT chose. To suggest that the Creator would need the womb of a woman to bring forth a birth, places a limitation on its powers, which reduces IT to the level of a gynaecologist performing an artificial insemination. Considering the abundance of religious connections, I wondered if the birth of Jesus was in any way connected to the diagram of Rennes and those things which we have examined previously. I also reasoned that the contents of the Ark of the Covenant probably held the key to the secrets which I sought.

We shall be returning to this theme many times before we finish, but now we must concentrate on the Moon. In Jesus’ birth chart the Moon is located at 16° (8 x 2) in Cancer. According to the Dictionary of Astrology:

In a chart, the Moon represents the imaginative, reflective side of the native, and is justifiably linked with the subconscious element in the modern image of man. It is an index of the receptive, withdrawn, secluded part of the person. When the Moon is emphasized in a chart, it is usually an indication of a highly sensitive, impressionable and changeable nature, often linked with a personality associated with the past, or with childhood.

Yo! Brother…

Yo!

Deaf sign for “I love you”

What do יהוה and ΙΑΩ have in common? The sound that you make when you say them. Who says they’re not connected?

יהוה

My ear has always been attuned to puns. I hear them everywhere. Why this should be, I have no idea, but it has served me well, especially when pondering spiritual truths.

If there is one thing that I have come to realize it’s that we people, who rely on English to do our thinking with, are missing out on a great deal of knowledge. Sometimes, you have to turn to original languages to really hear what’s going on.

Take for example, the Hebrew word for God, JHWH. There is a restriction placed on ever speaking that name aloud, so they substitute the name Adonai (LORD) when reading a passage that contains JHWH. Even in writing about the deity, they use G*d. Why, I used to wonder, why did they have that rule? Is it just that they didn’t want the name profaned? Or is it something else?

I remember reading something in one of the Edgar Cayce books, which I haven’t yet relocated, which explained that the way to align your mind in a transcendental way was to breathe the English vowels A, E, I, O, U in a long drawn-out way. Something like,
‘aaaaaaaaaaaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu’
(You need good breathing technique to accomplish this, but practice makes perfect.)

Cryptic Code

I think that was my first clue to the mystery of JHWH’s name.

Cryptic Code

Symbolic words conceal from prying eyes
Yesterday’s truth wrapped up in parable:
Meanings which help to spiritualize
Beginners, to make life more bearable.
Of course, the intent may be to mislead,
Like in the case of the word ‘atonement’:
Insiders see clues outsiders misread;
Could be a tone meant and/or at-one-ment.

Consider, now, Jehovah’s Hebrew name,
Initialled: can you hear His Holy Breath?
Maybe the Greek equivalent’s the same:
Becomes, in fact, the birth of Life and Death
As “I am the Alpha and Omega”.
Listen to His Voice, It speaks: ΙΑΩ.

Sonnet II

ΙΑΩ

I am the Alpha and Omega

ΙΑΩ: there was something about those Greek letters that I instinctively knew to be more than just something attributed to Jesus in Revelation. Then I tried speaking them. The hair on the back of my neck stood up. I felt a tingling feeling through my skin. It was an ‘a-ha’ moment, for sure.

Have you ever heard someone doing overtone chanting? The harmonics involved are quite spectacular. But the effect on the singer (and the listener) is one of a meditative state. There are no words, just sound, so there are no consonants, only vowels. Do you see what I’m getting at?

My pun about atonement being either ‘at-one-ment’ or ‘a tone meant’, shows that even in words we use to describe experiences spiritually, the true meaning may be something we haven’t even guessed at.

A good example of that was shown in the book “Holy Blood, Holy Grail” by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln. Of this, Wikipedia says:

According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, after the cycle of Grail romances was well established, late medieval writers came up with a false etymology for sangréal, an alternative name for “Holy Grail.” In Old French, san graal or san gréal means “Holy Grail” and sang réal means “royal blood”; later writers played on this pun. Since then, “Sang real” is sometimes employed to lend a medievalising air in referring to the Holy Grail. This connection with royal blood bore fruit in a modern bestseller linking many historical conspiracy theories.

Dan Brown struck literary gold when he fictionalized this same connection in the “The Da Vinci Code”. I have always liked the idea that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and had children, that they moved to the South of France and established a Royal Bloodline there.

But I digress. So, what does this all mean? In my opinion, we have, at best, only a small inkling of what the larger truth is. But until we are ready to seek out that truth, we have to be content with the fairy stories that we were told in church and Sunday school.

Star: 2 – Mercury: The Winged Star (part 3)

Can deceased relatives act as “guardian angels”? In “Let it Be”, Paul McCartney thinks so: ‘When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me…’

We cannot tie the position of Mars (age nine years) with a major event in Jesus’ life, but we can speculate that it was an instruction, or realization he received directly from his “higher self”, relating to his “mission” with the understanding of his eventual “sacrificial” death.*

From Jung and the Lost Gospels: Tradition is always rooted in experience. Behind every structure woven of theology, philosophy, and revealed ethics there lies a fundamental bedrock of transcendental experience. Moses climbs Mt. Sinai and by experiencing the reality of Jehovah receives the tablets of the Law. The Buddha achieves enlightenment under the sacred Bodhi tree and then goes forth to proclaim the Dharma. Muhammad discourses with the angel Gabriel in a cave before beginning his prophetic mission. Yet it is undeniable that the mainstream religious traditions, inasmuch as the former tend to enshrine the results of revelatory experience in belief and commandment, and the latter strenuously resists the metamorphosis of experience into theology and moral preachment. The Gnostic tradition descended from the Essene and continuing within the Christian dispensation has always resisted the turning of experience into a theological-ethical construct and opted for a different course instead.

The Mythologization of Self-Experience

Gnosis als Weltreligion

As noted earlier, the Gnostics engaged regularly in what G. Quispel called “the mythologization of Self-experience.” The same author explains this procedure in greater detail in the following manner:

In my Gnosis als Weltreligion (1951), I suggested that Gnosticism expressed a specific religious experience which was frequently turned into myth. An example is the story when <a class="external" style="color:#002fb5;text-decoration:underline;padding-right:13px;background:url('http://static.wikinut.com/images/site/external.png') 100% 50% no-repeat;" title="Mani” href=”https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mani_(prophet)” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Mani, the founder of the Manichaean religion was twelve years old, God sent an angel to him to inspire him. When he was twenty-four the angel came to him again and said, “The time has now come to make your public appearance and to proclaim your own doctrine.” The name of the angel means “twin” and he is the twin-brother or “divine self” of Mani.

The Manichaean myth expresses the encounter between the I, the ego, and the divine self. In the system of <a class="external" style="color:#002fb5;text-decoration:underline;padding-right:13px;background:url('http://static.wikinut.com/images/site/external.png') 100% 50% no-repeat;" title="Valentinus” href=”https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valentinus_(Gnostic)” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Valentinus we find the similar concept of the guardian angel who accompanies a man throughout his life, who reveals the gnosis to him and is not allowed to enter eternal bliss without him.

Did Jesus study in India?

Jesus Lived in India

The position of Uranus is Life*Timed to his coming of age at twelve and the annual family visit to the temple in Jerusalem, at which time he conversed with the teachers about astrology.

From Edgar Cayce’s Story of Jesus again: And Josie was among those who went with Mary and Joseph when they went to the city, or to Jerusalem, at the time of the age of twelve. It was thought by Joseph and Mary that it was in the care of Josie that He had stayed, when He was missed, in those periods when there was the returning to find Him in the temple. (1010)

The significance of the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction is hidden by whatever may have happened to him when he was seventeen. Several writers have speculated that Jesus went to Persia, Egypt and India to study spiritual truths, and I believe this completely consistent with the energy connected with these planets.

And yet again from Edgar Cayce’s Story of Jesus: Hence much of the early education, the early activities, were those prompted or directed by that leader in that particular experience, but were administered by — or in the closer associations by — Josie. Though from the idea of the Brotherhood the activities of the entity were no longer necessitated, the entity Josie preferred to remain — and did remain until those periods when there was the sending or the administering of the teachings to the young Master, first in Persia and later in India, and then in Egypt again — where there were the completions. (1010)

Final “guardian angel” action

Number

Angelic Numerology

The final “guardian angel” action concerns his crucifixion and the preparations for his death which occurred when he was thirty-six, as seen by the position of the North Node, according to A.T. Mann’s Life*Time Astrology scale.

From Edgar Cayce’s Story of Jesus once more: Josie was with Mary throughout those activities. And is it any wonder that when there were those preparations of the body for burial that Josie was the one who brought the spices, the ointments, that were to consecrate the preparations of this body for whom it had cared through those early periods of its experience in the earth? (1010)

If viewed from the position of Jesus’ “angelic” messages, its internal symbolism is being presented to us in a very graphic manner: the Annunciation happens 6½ months before his birth, therefore the bearer must have an origin between he Sun (6) and the Typhon-Set (7) – we will discuss this later; the first dream by Joseph occurred 2 months before Jesus’ birth, symbolizing division/dual creation; the warning to the Magi was when Jesus was 8 months old, representing Isis; the warning dream to Joseph to flee to Egypt was when Jesus was 1 year old, demonstrating the power of Herod (and his ultimate destruction), the rod/phallus; the dream telling Joseph that Herod was dead, occurred when Jesus was 3, referring to the Moon and love (the Holy Family were three); the next dream warning Joseph to go to Nazareth occurred when Jesus was 5, signifying feminine power; the understanding Jesus received when he was 9 indicates the symbolic number of birth and death; the visit to the Temple in Jerusalem at 12, demonstrates his “understanding” of astrology; the unknown event at 17 could signify a special “rebirth” in Egypt; and the culmination of his life at 36 corresponds to the combining of the values of 12 and 3, 4 and 9, 2 and 18. this last one being the number of inches in a cubit…In other words, we are being given numerical hints all through his life, as calculated with a base 10.

But that is not all there is to it: even the degrees of his birth Ascendant, Midheaven and natal planets tell a similar story. The fact that both the Ascendant and Midheaven are at 5° brings a pointer to the feminine power contained in his birth chart as a five-pointed star. I will note several times through this book that the ‘death point’ position of Mars at 17° leads us back to the significance of the pentagram, but more on that later.

Parable of the Sower

Qabalistic Tree of Life

Mercury, like the Sun in Jesus’ birth chart, is in the “earthy” sign of Capricorn. If his life’s purpose is to manifest the Word by becoming ‘flesh and dwelling among us,’ then the medium is the message. From Spiritual Astrology: When you focus on the informational needs of others, you can effortlessly share ideas relevant to the situation. When your motive in giving information is to support others, you automatically communicate true knowledge and eliminate pretense.

That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop, a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. He who has ears, let him hear.” (Matthew 13:1-9)

He has disguised a hidden message in this story, but you need to look at the cabalistic “Tree of Life” to see what he means: 100 relates to 10 x 10, the perfection of animal reproduction — signified by the rigid {1} and tail-swallowing {0} snakes; 60 relates to 6 x 10, the reflection of the Creator by the Sun; 30 relates to 3 x 10, demonstrating that it originates in the Holy Trinity. I think he was trying to tell us that there are three specific types of “good” seeds which will yield a spiritual harvest.

According to the author of Jung and the Lost Gospels: The three cosmic regions…have their corresponding portions within the nature of the children of men. Within every human there is the material part (hyle), derived from the kingdom of Pan and carrying the instincts and urges of material life with its intentionality of survival and physical continuity by way of offspring. There is also a portion embodying mind and emotion referred to often as soul (psyche). This portion is derived from the realm of the Demiurge, and thus contains more than one dangerous feature. While it is the seat of ethical awareness and calculating reason, it is also susceptible to the influences and blandishments of the rulers with their obsessive commandments, fanatical ideologies, pride, and arrogance of soul. Third is the human spirit (pneuma), which belongs to the fullness, although it is the gift of Sophia. In most humans this spiritual spark smoulders and dreams, unconsciously awaiting the breath of the emissaries of the fullness to be fanned into effective action. This spirit is Sophia, and through and beyond her, it is of the identical essence of the supreme King and Queen, Depth and Silence themselves.

Depth and Silence: our Heavenly Father and the Great Mother, symbolized by the Sun and the Moon in our solar system. Depth and Silence: the idea and the creation; the concept and the conception. Depth and Silence: Life and Death, the subject of our next chapter.
