It is the Use of Mirrors that Shows Her True Beauty

Bridgerton (Season Three)

This season has been a long time coming. They say patience is a virtue, but the fear of being single your whole life calls for desperate measures during desperate times.

Taking the spotlight this season will be Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and her longtime crush and good friend Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). Things didn’t end well for the two last season after Penelope heard Colin tell his friends that he would never court her. To top it off, Penelope had a falling out with her best friend Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), after the former realized Penelope was the town gossip, Lady Whistledown.

USA Today

Every time Penelope looks in the mirror, she gets more and more radiant. Since this is only the first half of season 3, so far, the fairy tale elements have only partially been shown. The belief in one’s own worth cannot be underestimated, especially as it is reflected in someone else’s eyes. Penelope and Colin have been friends since childhood, but time has changed them, and their attraction has become stronger. In the 4th episode, the carriage ride home at the end gets very heated, and, in my opinion, very real.

I won’t say any more for the moment, but the preview for part 2 does hint at a Cinderella moment for Penelope. Obviously, her secret life as the Mayfair gossip, Lady Whistledown, is about to come out.

(And, to show you how my consciousness works, I’ve heard the Lady’s name as Thistledown, which sounds far more evocative that was originally intended, I’m sure.)

Thistledown are gossamer ‘will of the wisps’ that float everywhere on the wind: a bit like gossip…

Mixed Message: Saviour, Hero or Both?

It must have been the Carl Jung video where he was discussing whether the German people thought of Hitler as their “Father” that caught my eye. Jung stated that it was more complicated than that: he said that actually Hitler was seen by them as their Saviour. Oh-ho, thinks I, that’s food for thought.

Without naming names, someone in the recent court systems in the US has compared himself to Jesus. He sees the the legal processes as a kind of crucifixion (cruci-fiction) that is making him a martyr. In my opinion, he’s not even close. Especially, as Jesus spoke barely a word during his trial before Pontius Pilate. He certainly didn’t meet with the press before, at recess, and after the court day, to get his point of view across. No, this is a pseudo-saviour at best. Perhaps he’s really suffering from a Hero syndrome.

It’s the intention that defines what the world is dealing with here. Hence, the trading cards…

Is He the Right Lawyer for Mr. Trump?

Todd Blanche (August 6, 1974)

For the most part the defense of Donald Trump has been a haphazard affair. In fact, there were points in the cross-examination of Michael Cohen when (especially at the start) Blanche made it about himself.

This chart is totally randomized. And yet there are two inconjuncts, and one is not dependent on a correct birth time. (I think it says a lot that Blanche has jettisoned all other clients to represent Trump.)

Sun Inconjunct Jupiter (definitely)

This aspect has possibilities for positive and helpful energy. You may be a very optimistic person who helps people in need at the critical moment. If so, others will help you when you need it. If you can control yourself and keep from going overboard, you will find that you can be quite lucky. But don’t assume that lock will always carry you through. Work as hard as you can to get what you want and act fairly and honestly with others; then the luck will be there.

Planets in Youth (page 83) by Robert Hand (1977)

Moon Inconjunct Uranus (unlikely)

With this aspect you must learn to control sudden outbursts of emotion that occur at difficult times when you least expect it. Also your present home life may not be a stable situation in which you can grow up emotionally secure and confident. A particular incident when you were very young may have given you the feeling that you can’t count of anything or anyone for support. Later in life, you may try very hard to get away from anything that reminds you of your earlier childhood, even if your childhood has not been difficult. You just feel that you have to get away and go somewhere else.

Planets in Youth (page 130) by Robert Hand (1977)

I cannot confirm or deny that either of these aspects are in operation, but the impression given in Donald Trump’s election interference case in Manhattan is that both may be underneath the surface of Blanche’s demeanor.

The Big “Lie” (October 24, 2016)

I’ve always thought that a cross-examination is well named. To zero in on one event in the whole parade of evidence that Michael Cohen provided seems a bit much, But I guess you’d call it grasping at straws.

That Neptune conjunct the South Node is interesting, while Mars being conjunct Pluto speaks to the urgency of the motives to ‘fix’ this thing the Trump campaign was facing. Note that both Mars and Neptune are part of inconjuncts involving Jupiter and the Ascendant respectively. That’s the crime.

The fact that Michael Cohen’s recollection is somewhat sketchy about the 14-year-old’s nuisance calls is forgivable. But Todd Blanche is trying to undermine Cohen’s whole testimony with one big “lie”.

The three charts together shows something unexpected: that “lie” has an Ascendant that is flanked by Blanche’s South Node and Trump’s North Node. These two were connected in a past life!

The other ‘dramatic’ link involves the event’s Moon, Blanche’s Midheaven and Trump’s Mars. Hmm.

Timing is everything.

Maybe Their Relationship is Contained in Their Marriage

Donald and Melania’s Wedding (January 22, 2005)

I’m approaching this relationship from a different perspective, having already shown previously that they are ill-suited to each other. She has been accused of being a gold-digger, he of just wanting eye candy on his arm. Their age difference is significant, too. And they had a prenuptial agreement which has been amended since Trump’s legal issues have become front-and-centre, on the world’s stage.

This timing is randomized for the day of their wedding. And yet, there is a Yod pointing at Pluto, formed by inconjuncts to Saturn and the Ascendant. That tells the tale, right there.

Now let’s put the three charts together.

The connections look more meaningful: in my eyes, Melania benefits the most from the marriage, but Donald got something out of it, too. We’ll just have to wait and see if it survives his legal problems.

Will Melania say ‘bye, bye, bye’? And, if not, I ask, “Why? Why? Why?”

Imagine Being Famous for Being a Miser

John Elwes MP (April 7, 1714 – November 26, 1789)

Imagination is a wonderful thing. But sometimes it can lead to paranoia about your money and then life turns miserable. Did you ever think about where the word ‘miserable’ comes from? Penny-pinching in the 18th century wasn’t much fun. Such was the life of John Elwes, MP for Berkshire, UK.

After his parliamentary career ended, Elwes devoted his full energies to being a miser as he moved about among his many properties. At his neglected estates he continued to forbid repairs, joined his tenants in postharvest gleaning, and sat with his servants in the kitchen to save the cost of a fire elsewhere. Even on the coldest day of winter he was known to sit fireless at his meals, saying that eating was “exercise enough” to keep him warm. If a stableboy put out hay for a visitor’s horse, Elwes would sneak out and remove it. In his last years, he had no fixed abode and frequently shifted his residence between his unrented London properties in the neighbourhood of Marylebone, seeking out the ones that were temporarily unoccupied. A couple of beds, a couple of chairs, a table, and an “old woman” (housekeeper) were said to be all his furnishings. This same housekeeper was known to frequently catch colds because there were never any fires and often no glass in the windows.

This practice nearly cost Elwes his life when he fell desperately ill in one of these houses and no one could find him. Only by chance was he rescued. His nephew, Colonel Timms, who wanted to see him, inquired in vain at Elwes’s bankers and at other places. A pot boy recollected having seen an “old beggar” go into a stable at one of Elwes’s uninhabited houses in Great Marlborough Street and lock the door behind him. Timms knocked at the door, but when no one answered, sent for a blacksmith and had the lock forced. According to Edward Walford in Volume 4 of his Old and New London (1878):

“In the lower part (of the house) all was shut and silent, but on ascending the stairs they heard the moans of a person seemingly in distress. They went to the chamber, and there on an old pallet bed they found Mr. Elwes, apparently in the agonies of death. For some time he seemed quite insensible.”

He remained in this condition until some “cordials” could be administered by a neighbouring apothecary. After he had sufficiently recovered, Elwes stated that he believed he had been ill for “two or three days” and that there was an “old woman” in the house, but that for some reason or other, she had “not been near him”; that she had “been ill herself”, but that he supposed she must have “recovered” and “gone away”. Upon searching the premises, however, Timms and the apothecary found the woman stretched lifeless on the floor, having apparently been dead for two days.

Towards the end of his life, Elwes grew feverish and restless, hoarding small quantities of money in different places, continually visiting all the places of deposit to see that they were safe. He began suffering from delusion, fearing that he would die in poverty. In the night, he was heard struggling with imaginary robbers, crying: “I will keep my money! I will! Don’t rob me! Oh, don’t!” When asked who was there, Elwes would reply: “Sir, I beg your pardon, my name is Elwes, I have been unfortunate enough to be robbed in this house, which I believe is mine, of all the money I have in the world of five guineas and a half, and half a crown.” The family doctor was sent for, and, looking at the dying miser, was heard to remark: “That man, with his original strength of constitution, and lifelong habits of temperance, might have lived twenty years longer, but for his continual anxiety about money.” Even his barrister, who drew up his £800,000 will, was forced to undertake his writings in the firelight by the dying man’s bedside in order to save the cost of a candle.

Elwes was known to sleep in the same worn garments he wore during the day. He was discovered one morning between the sheets with his tattered shoes on his feet, an old torn hat on his head, and a stick in his hand. It was in this condition he died on 26 November 1789. His burial took place in Stoke-by-Clare. After having lived on only £50 a year, Elwes left £500,000 (approximately £81,000,000 as of 2021) to his two illegitimate, George and John (whom he loved but would not educate, believing that “putting things into people’s heads is the sure way to take money out of their pockets”), and the rest to his nephew.

Wikipedia

If that sounds like the plot of Scrooge’s visitation by three ghosts (as warned by Marley), it may be that Charles Dickens had John Elwes in mind when he wrote “A Christmas Carol”.

John Elwes Birth Chart

The timing is randomized. Other astrology sites have the birth date as stated, but since this is before 1753, it must be Old Style, which means that 11 days are added to equivalate the date to New Style.

There are two loaded houses in his chart: the 11th House (of Associations) and 3rd (of Short Journeys). Obviously a different timing would change them into different houses, but I think I’ll leave well enough alone. The Moon in his Gemini 12th House (of the Unconscious) could be significant to his delusions. And the Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Virgo may be where the penny-pinching comes from. Who knows?

My curiosity was piqued by the idea that Elwes may have telegraphed his reality to Dickens, somehow.

Was Charles Dickens the reincarnation of John Elwes? It looks like it. What do you think?

The End of a Decade-Long Bromance

False Business Records? (May 14, 2024)

I was inspired to write this post, following yesterday’s testimony by Michael Cohen in Donald Trump’s election interference case. Some have likened it to a divorce proceeding. And with the animosity on display, I would tend to agree with that characterization. (Literally, they haven’t seen each other in six or seven years and Michael’s grievance is that he was hung out to dry by the man he protected, when Donald could have saved him as President of the United States.) The chart is for the exact moment Michael was asked if the invoice he was shown was a false business record: he answered, “Yes.”

Note that there are no inconjuncts. That means that what you see is what you get. There are no hidden agendas. Pluto in opposition to the Ascendant lets us see that this is the big revelation. So how did this come about? If you look at Trump and Cohen together, astrologically, their relationship is obvious.

Five aspects stand out: Cohen’s Jupiter is flanked by Trump’s Venus/Saturn conjunction; Cohen’s Venus is conjunct Trump’s Pluto; and three inconjuncts define their dynamic together, Trump’s Uranus is connected to Cohen’s Neptune, Trump’s Mars is connected to Cohen’s Saturn, and Trump’s Mercury is connected to Cohen’s Ascendant. This relationship is definitely a Master/Servant one. But for Cohen to serve his master properly, he had to love him. And one of the last messages Cohen got (via Trump’s support system) was that he was loved, too. Yeah, right…

The three charts together give us an overview of the moment that Michael sank Donald: the event Ascendant is conjunct Michael’s Jupiter and Donald’s Venus and Saturn. That says it all, does it not?

Hmm.

Every Would-Be Emperor Meets His Waterloo Eventually

Lake Tahoe, Nevada (July 13, 2006)

This one thought kept me awake for most of the night: was the meeting of Donald Trump and Stormy Daniels written in the stars? I decided to research the timings, according to stories from other peoples’ perspectives, to arrive at a consensus of when the encounter between them actually took place.

I know it’s a cheek, but I set the ‘event’ where they met at the golf tournament, randomized the time and then flipped it from AM to PM. This chart is what I got. Moon on the Ascendant? Absolutely. Venus opposition to Pluto? Absolutely. Saturn inconjunct Uranus? Absolutely What more could you want?.

In some ways, this event has more to do with Stormy Daniels than with Donald Trump. But there are some very strong connections that tie these two individuals with this incident. They imply a past life connection. The event Part of Fortune is conjunct Stormy’s Pluto and Donald’s Jupiter. The event Pluto is conjunct Stormy’s Neptune/Ascendant conjunction and Donald’s Moon/South Node conjunction. The event Neptune is conjunct Stormy’s Venus and Donald’s Part of Fortune. And the event Mercury is conjunct Stormy’s Jupiter and Donald’s Venus. Is that enough proof for you?

His Idea of Archetypes was Discovered during an NDE

Carl Gustav Jung (July 26, 1875 – June 6, 1961)

I’m coming to this story, very late in the game. Perhaps the easiest way to help you understand about the man is to share this YouTube video about his 1944 near death experience. Part of the early description reminds me of Cash Peters‘ transition pictures for the man, the proverbial ‘cave’ entrance.

On 11 February 1944, the 68-year-old Carl Gustav Jung – then the world’s most renowned living psychologist – slipped on some ice and broke his fibula. Ten days later, in hospital, he suffered a myocardial infarction caused by embolisms from his immobilised leg. Treated with oxygen and camphor, he lost consciousness and had what seems to have been a near-death and out-of-the-body experience – or, depending on your perspective, delirium. He found himself floating 1,000 miles above the Earth. Seas and continents shimmered in blue light and Jung could make out the Arabian desert and snow-tipped Himalayas. He felt he was about to leave orbit, but then, turning to the south, a huge black monolith came into view. It was a kind of temple, and at the entrance Jung saw a Hindu sitting in a lotus position. Within, innumerable candles flickered, and he felt that the “whole phantasmagoria of earthly existence” was being stripped away. It wasn’t pleasant, and what remained was an “essential Jung”, the core of his experiences.

He knew that inside the temple the mystery of his existence, of his purpose in life, would be answered. He was about to cross the threshold when he saw, rising up from Europe far below, the image of his doctor in the archetypal form of the King of Kos, the island site of the temple of Asclepius, Greek god of medicine. He told Jung that his departure was premature; many were demanding his return and he, the King, was there to ferry him back. When Jung heard this, he was immensely disappointed, and almost immediately the vision ended. He experienced the reluctance to live that many who have been ‘brought back’ encounter, but what troubled him most was seeing his doctor in his archetypal form. He knew this meant that the physician had sacrificed his own life to save Jung’s. On 4 April 1944 – a date numerologists can delight in – Jung sat up in bed for the first time since his heart attack. On the same day, his doctor came down with septicæmia and took to his bed. He never left it, and died a few days later.

whitecrowbooks.com

Perhaps, it would be better to look at his birth chart, for which the actual timing is not known, but rectified between 7:24 – 7:32 pm local Swiss time.

My initial thought is how his NDE would have happened @ age 49, but there are absolutely no planets there. So, we must take these charts with a large pinch of salt.

As it stands, this birth chart has three inconjuncts, two of which form a Yod, finger of God.

Mars Inconjunct Pluto (definitely)

At certain times in your life, when there are great changes taking place within you and in your environment, you will have to work very hard to make your affairs turn out right. There is nothing to be done at those times except do the work that must be done. Fortunately you have plenty of energy and enough endurance to pull through anything that you will encounter in life. You are basically tough and persistent. These changes are an integral part of your growth, and even if everything seems to go wrong they are necessary to your full development.

Planets in Youth (page 240) by Robert Hand (1977)

Jupiter Inconjunct Pluto (definitely)

You have a great deal of creative power, and the major challenger of your life will be learning how to handle it. First of all, you must realize that you will get the most out of life if you direct your energies toward helping the people around you and those you love. You will want to change many conditions in the world, which is fine as long as your reasons are not purely selfish ones.

If you use the energies of this aspect selfishly, you will have serious conflicts with authorities, persons in power and adults in general. You may try to make changes before you have learned how to do so creatively, without provoking such resistance that your efforts are blocked. To be effective, you must have the necessary skills.

Planets in Youth (page 272) by Robert Hand (1977)

Neptune Inconjunct Midheaven (probably not)

You are very impressionable, in that you pick up the energies around you very quickly. Therefore it is very important that you are surrounded by wholesome influences in your early years, because negative influences will weaken your self-esteem and make it much more difficult to accomplish anything when you are older. On the other hand, your impressionableness may give rise to some psychic ability, or at least a very sharp intuition when you are older.

Planets in Youth (page 342) by Robert Hand (1977)

Hmm.

So much of this NDE chart is speculative, the time and the place, for example. But the fact that Neptune is on the Descendant seems fortuitous. It is inconjunct to the transiting Sun, while a Yod is pointing at the transiting Moon, formed by inconjuncts to Jupiter and Saturn. This has all the hallmarks of a spiritual event. But when it is compared to Jung’s birth chart, another insight occurs.

The NDE South Node is conjunct Jung’s Ascendant (and conversely, the NDE North Node is on Jung’s Descendant, conjunct his natal Sun). This looks like one of Jung’s exit points. Otherwise, how can one explain it?

So, Are NDE’s Archetypal Events?

I’ve watched a lot of videos which narrate different people’s NDE’s. None are exactly the same as the next person’s. In fact, I’ve become aware that they are as individual as the people themselves. Most see some form of tunnel with a bright light at the end. Some are aware of others on their journey. And others are met by friends and family members who have preceded them. Whatever the religious upbringing, a spiritual figure speaks with them, and ‘discusses’ their concerns and questions. If you have fears of the future, these sometimes play out so that the fear hopefully subsides. But even images and experiences of hell occur. It all depends on the person needing them. (This was borne out by my friend, Chuck’s NDE.)

Ahh, that makes sense.

What will you see?

Was It Prescience or Propaganda?

Captain America: Civil War (2014)

I caught the second half of this movie on television, Saturday night. I suppose it provided a sensation for the viewing public, along the lines of Superman and Batman fighting each other in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016).

I joined the fray just before the airport battle scene. It doesn’t affect me, since I know superheroes don’t suffer the way ordinary people do. But for some people, this may get the juices flowing, and they may want to join the fight between ‘good and evil’. As usual, the lines between these two groups blur somewhat. Even the Black Widow was ambivalent. Still, the effect is one of setting up an energy for what happened on January 6, 2021.

.

.

This last quote has a grammatical error: the third word should be ‘toppled’. But the sentiment expressed by the villain (with a slight German accent, by the way) is false. The English had a civil war (1642-1651) and so did the United States (1861-1865). Both times, those countries rose again. Even Rome had civil wars, and it rose again. No, the truth is that complacency is the true killer of empires.

Yes, sometimes one must stand and fight for one’s beliefs.

Hmm.
