Airship Disaster: The Hindenburg on Fire

th

Led Zeppelin Album Cover

Most of us alive today have only a passing interest in this disaster. Culturally, it is seared into our memories as the image on this Led Zeppelin album cover. But the accident which happened on this day in 1937 put an end to airships being used for passenger travel.

As an Astrologer, I’m often curious to see what was happening in the heavens when events occur. I won’t bore you with the details, but if you’re curious, too, here’s the chart:

So, it appears that Uranus was the trigger.

Only Game I Saw at Maple Leaf Gardens

61QYbt2kD2L._SX679_

Toronto Toros vs. Indianapolis Racers

In all the years that I watched hockey on television, I only saw one game live in Toronto. I treated myself to a game on my 25th birthday. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the Toronto Maple Leafs playing, but the ‘alternative’ hockey team, the Toronto Toros, playing in the World Hockey Association, an upstart league that only lasted through the 1970’s.

It was my one and only time to see Frank Mahovlich play live. Toronto won the game 7-5.

Astrological Portrait of an Artist

leonardo_portrait

Leonardo da Vinci

This is the man on whom everyone in the present has ‘blamed’ for a heretical concept from the distant past. It would be foolish to tackle this misunderstanding without understanding the man first. As usual, I will rely upon astrology for clues.

DaVinciLeonardoWREJC1

Surprise, surprise! A Finger of God: the Moon (conjunct Jupiter) inconjunct with both Neptune and Pluto. As always, this implies that Leonardo was placed on this earth to reveal a ‘truth’.

Moon Conjunct Jupiter

This aspect is very easy to live with. You are probably well liked, because your optimistic attitude warms people up. You can even make others feel good when they are depressed. And when you are depressed, you don’t spread it around. Even in your worst mood you can look at the situation with humor and laugh at yourself, which eases your depression and makes the people around you feel good.

Moon Inconjunct Neptune

People with this aspect often hide their real feelings and make sacrifices for others that they do not really want to make. Then they resent the person who asked for the sacrifice. You must learn to tell people how you really feel; if you do not, you have only yourself to blame for what happens. You must learn to accept that you are responsible for your own life. Do not act as if you are the victim of strong forces that you can’t control, because you can control them.

Moon Inconjunct Pluto

You should talk about your feelings to someone you really trust, for otherwise the pressure of your emotions will build up too much. You must be made to realize that at some time everyone has those dark hidden thoughts that you think are so horrible. You are not alone, and you must learn not to blow these ideas up to be more important than they are.

You probably enjoy exploring the mysterious and probing hidden secrets. Even while you are young, you will understand human nature better than most people, but to use this ability positively, you must be reasonably calm about your feelings.

Jupiter Inconjunct Neptune

By itself, this aspect does not guarantee that you will have such problems [with gambling or taking excessive risks], but if it is reinforced by other, similar aspects in your chart, you should be careful of a tendency toward escapism. It is always easier to create an ideal reality within your mind than in the world, but the world is where you must work. Escapism can include using drugs or alcohol or following strange and delusive religious beliefs.

Your idealism can be the source of much creative imagination, leading to profound insights and realizations, but only if you remain connected with the actual day-to-day universe in which the rest of the human race lives.

Jupiter Inconjunct Pluto (implied)

You have a great deal of creative power, and the major challenge of your life will be learning how to handle it. Even at best you will get a certain amount of resistance from others, because they will feel your energy and be afraid of your motives. Unless you show them that your motives are good and that you can be reasoned with, you will run into opponents who are more powerful than you, who will stop you and make your efforts futile.

The Man

“Leonardo recorded only two childhood incidents. One, which he regarded as an omen, was when a kite dropped from the sky and hovered over his cradle, its tail feathers brushing his face. The second occurred while he was exploring in the mountains: he discovered a cave and was both terrified that some great monster might lurk there and driven by curiosity to find out what was inside.” (Wikipedia)

The dynamic that is related to the Finger(s) of God seems to be echoed in the first incident. His second incident shows that the unknown caused him a great deal of fear, and curiosity.

His legal ‘brush’ with homosexuality at age 24 (and earlier – see Venus in Taurus in the Sixth House below) may have made him vulnerable to blackmail later in his career. That is how people have explained his hiding in plain sight spiritual secrets concerning Jesus and Mary Magdalene in the Last Supper mural. Because Leonardo was a believer in John the Baptist being the true Messiah, he would have been a heretic to the Roman Church.

Conclusion

leonardo-writing

A man who ‘hides’ his knowledge in the simple way of writing backwards is not someone who can be easily deciphered by history. Only when we place a mirror in front of his work can we finally ‘see’ what he knew.

Spiritually, he was a mirror image of Gnostic traditions. In the present day and age, we are ready to accept what he believed to be true. But still there are those who object…

Post Script (about his love interests)

Venus in Taurus

You are a very warm person who forms lasting attachments to others. Your affections don’t change easily, and even if you lose respect for a friend, you will continue to like that person in spite of his or her faults. The only problem is that you want the friend you are with to pay attention to you alone and not be with anyone else at the same time. You will have to learn to be less possessive.

Venus in the Sixth House

You like to do favors for those you love. You feel that love is a kind of service, and the more you can do for someone you like, the better you feel about it. However, you may not find it so easy to accept favors from your loved one in return, because you are more comfortable in the role of giver. This placement can mean that as you get older you will choose a career in an area ruled by Venus, such as entertainment, arts or crafts, counseling, or work involving beauty or recreation. You are likely to be creative, and your work should give you some outlet for your creativity.

Venus Trine Neptune

You very much need to express yourself creatively. You have many beautiful ideas, which you would like to convert into something real. However, in order to do this you must master some artistic craft.

Your relationship with others will be warm and compassionate, but you may not express your love very physically. You idealize love and friendship, but [when] it comes with the opposite sex, this idealism will influence the kind of partner you seek.

This aspect has a spiritual side as well, which will develop as you get older. You have an unusual ability to understand the Christian ideal of universal love, even when you cannot actually express it in your behavior. But don’t punish yourself if you cannot live up to it, for an ideal is only a goal to be worked toward.

Venus Trine Midheaven

This aspect means that you love working with and owning beautiful things, so that later you may have a career in art, crafts, decorating or another field involving beauty. But it also means that you have a harmonious nature, that you like to have a good time with others. You are not especially aggressive, preferring to give in or smooth over a possible dispute rather than fight. This is not because you lack self-confidence, but because you hate conflict. You are very warmhearted and friendly, and you want your relationships to be smooth.

Something to Pass the Time of Day

0001194530

Time Passages

Al Stewart followed up his smash hit Year of the Cat with this time traveling song.

Here are the lyrics:

It was late in December, the sky turned to snow
All round the day was going down slow
Night like a river beginning to flow
I felt the beat of my mind go
Drifting into time passages
Years go falling in the fading light
Time passages
Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight
.
Well I’m not the kind to live in the past
The years run too short and the days too fast
The things you lean on are the things that don’t last
Well it’s just now and then my line gets cast into these
Time passages
There’s something back here that you left behind
Oh time passages
Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight
.
Hear the echoes and feel yourself starting to turn
Don’t know why you should feel
That there’s something to learn
It’s just a game that you play
.
Well the picture is changing
Now you’re part of a crowd
They’re laughing at something
And the music’s loud
A girl comes towards you
You once used to know
You reach out your hand
But you’re all alone, in those
Time passages
I know you’re in there, you’re just out of sight
Time passages
Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight
.

An Open Book Inspires a Name of a Song

0001973899

Year of the Cat

Al Stewart tells the story about how Year of the Cat came to be named.

So, Vietnamese Astrology, eh?

Here are the lyrics.

On a morning from a Bogart movie
In a country where they turn back time
You go strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre
Contemplating a crime
She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running
Like a watercolor in the rain
Don’t bother asking for explanations
She’ll just tell you that she came
In the year of the cat
.
She doesn’t give you time for questions
As she locks up your arm in hers
And you follow ’till your sense of which direction
Completely disappears
By the blue tiled walls near the market stalls
There’s a hidden door she leads you to
These days, she says, I feel my life
Just like a river running through
The year of the cat
.
While she looks at you so cooly
And her eyes shine like the moon in the sea
She comes in incense and patchouli
So you take her, to find what’s waiting inside
The year of the cat
.
Well morning comes and you’re still with her
And the bus and the tourists are gone
And you’ve thrown away your choice you’ve lost your ticket
So you have to stay on
But the drum-beat strains of the night remain
In the rhythm of the new-born day
You know sometime you’re bound to leave her
But for now you’re going to stay
In the year of the cat
.
Year of the cat

“Personal Insult?” You Better Believe It

Germany Obama

Barack Hussein Obama

Reports are coming out about Obama’s disappointment about the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. The headlines are saying that he felt it was a personal insult.

He thought he had come through the eight years of his presidency without any scandal, but he obviously hadn’t paid any attention to the pejorative word that Republicans had attached to him: his middle name “Hussein”. Not very subtle racism, is it?

During Obama’s second term, social networks were full of criticism about Hussein, and if you dared to speak out against it, your comments were deleted, citing the reason of being from a bleeding heart liberal. I soon learned to just let it go, but the pervasiveness of the ‘hate’ showed me the groundswell of feeling against the Democrats, and the extra burden of their putting forward a female candidate was a step too far for the country.

Now, his successor, Trump, is trying to blame Obama for his own troubles: the Russia investigation. No doubt this card will be played for the next 18 months until the 2020 presidential election. It will be Trump’s way of keeping his voters on his side.

You’ll see…

A Feminist Before It Was Fashionable

226f8283cbbd5a48c161f2bbcafe3615--funny-history-history-memes

Anne Boleyn

On this day in history in 1536, Anne Boleyn was arrested for high treason, and confined to the Tower of London. The trumped-up charge of adultery was just an excuse to get her out of the way, so that Henry VIII could marry Jane Seymour instead. In the end, she was found guilty and was beheaded on May 19th, 1536. Her main claim to fame is being the mother of Elizabeth I, the first feminist in English royal history.

(The ‘Force’ is strong in this one.)

BoleynAnneWREJC1A

There are a lot of ‘problems’ with anything to do with Anne Boleyn’s birth date. First of all, there is speculation that she was actually born in 1507, but that’s problematic in that she would have been sent out into the world at too young an age when she was ‘maid of honour’ to Queen Claude of France. Also, the Boleyns had children every year from the time of their marriage in 1499. Only two of Anne’s four siblings survived. I’ve opted for the year 1501. The date is unknown, but several astrologers have suggested May 5th (which equates to May 15th in the present time). They also decided upon 11:30 am as the time of her birth, I suspect to make the Sun at its zenith. I allowed my Kepler 7.0 program to use the time I posted the chart today, allowing for some synchronicity…

Always, I expect to see some inconjuncts, but the Finger of God pointing at her Ascendant (from the Mars/Neptune sextile) surprised even me. This marks the destiny of a woman who would be Queen since her rising sign is Leo. (Remember, this is ALL speculative.)

Mars Inconjunct Ascendant

The difficulty with this aspect is to find a balance between getting what you want in life and getting along with others. More than most people, you will have to learn the necessity of compromising to get along with people, especially because you often seem more aggressive than you are[…] You do not actually have to compromise any more than anyone else, but you are more reluctant to do so.

Neptune Inconjunct Ascendant

This aspect can be a sign that you must give way to others in order to get along with them. This can take two forms, both of which will be difficult to handle while you are young. The less positive form is simply yielding to all outside pressure and always giving in to others’ desires. This will produce unconscious feelings of resentment that you can’t express, but that make your relationships with others rather difficult.

But the other, more positive, way of dealing with this energy is by giving freely before others try to take it from you.

But there are two other, just as important, inconjuncts relating to her love life and her relationship with her mother.

Sun Inconjunct Moon

But a much more difficult problem arises if you decide that one of these personalities is good and the other bad, so that you try to repress and hold down any behavior from the ‘bad’ side. Unfortunately, that only makes it more difficult to handle that side, so that you have intense urges to do things that you think you should not do. You begin to act in ways that betray the image of yourself that you are trying to build up.

The only solution is to accept both sides of your personality, for they are both you, and it is important to express them both. It is only your attitude of rejection that makes one side good and the other side bad.

Venus Inconjunct Pluto

You don’t have to put up with difficult or unpleasant relationships, because if you think about it, you will realize that you are drawn to these people in order to fulfill your own hidden emotional needs.

This aspect may also mean that you are very possessive and demanding of your loved ones. You may not want to accept the fact that your friends can love other people besides yourself. Let your friends be themselves freely when they are with you, and try not to be too demanding of their time. Love for friends and relatives should be given freely, not used as a way to control them. If you do that, you will lose their love.

Conclusion

Whether ‘real’ or not, I think this gives us a peek inside a royal marriage, especially how it all went ‘south’ so quickly. Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour were second cousins. How’s that for keeping it in the family?

Illuminati: Hidden in Plain Sight

8bac57048d19e2df9d2761a3f814073b0e2ed92a3d2ed93dcbb4c4291bc6b9de

The Owl of Minerva

It turns out that the Bavarian Illuminati group was created this day in 1776. The image, shown above, was adopted as its symbol. (And in case you’ve never noticed, the word knowledge has an owl built into it.)

Just for fun, I have erected a chart for the event, but I am well aware that I have no idea of the time, so I used the time that was on the chart as I created it.

IlluminatiBavarianWREJC1

As luck would have it, one inconjunct was visible at that particular time, so I think this is spirit driven.

Pluto Inconjunct Ascendant

Choose your friends with great care and try to find people who have a healthy outlook on life and who seem reasonably well balanced. People who are driven to extreme behavior or who act compulsively, as if they could not plan anything in advance, are not very good for you. They will get you into difficult situations that you do not need.

With your friends, you must learn to give in at least as often as you get your way. Don’t let either you or your friend become dominant. Winning, losing and compromising in equal measure are all part of getting along, which you may find hard.

The Masons

Evidently, the same energy that spurred the creation of the Illuminati was also at work in the creation of the United States of America. Freemasonry is behind a great deal of the structure of the USA.

Do you want proof?

That’s what I mean by hidden in plain sight.

Metamorphosis: It’s Only Natural!

header_sketch4

Nature’s Ultimate Transformer

Why does it take so long before the penny drops? When I first wrote about Caroline Myss’ Entering the Castle, I decided to title my blog “The Crystal Maze?” I thought I was just being clever, referring to a UK game show of that name. But, as always, there was more to this reference than I thought at the time.

We were watching the PBS series “American Spring Live” last night and I was struck by one particular image: a chrysalis. Then, the mental lightning bolt…

3_1

Up until now, I, along with just about everyone else, has assumed that the life cycle of the Monarch Butterfly was a metaphor for life after death: reincarnation, if you will.

It never occurred to me to see it in terms of the mystical life cycle of a human being. That was a leap too far. And yet, when discussing Myss’ book, I made that leap without knowing it.

df4506aac997c32a7ed913daede45563

At some point in its caterpillar life, it decides to withdraw from the world and builds a chrysalis around itself. In other words, it enters its castle. According to last night’s PBS show, the caterpillar turns to liquid in this state, then grows into the butterfly we know and love. And for what purpose? To seed new life for yet another generation.

Have you found your way into and out of the Crystal Maze yet?
