Queen: Be, Here, Now

ADAM LAMBERT, JEREMIAH LLOYD HARMON

Adam Lambert on American Idol

On Sunday night, Adam Lambert returned to Idol to mentor the top eight contestants for Queen week. The picture shown above is the moment when he was helping Jeremiah with his version of “Who Wants To Live Forever?” In the live show, this song turned into the most impressive performance of the night.

But what I didn’t know was that Adam had truly connected with that song at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2016, the day after the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida.

The Siege of Orleans: Jeanne d’Arc

Albert_Lynch_-_Jeanne_d'Arc

The Maid of Orléans

On this day in history in 1429, Joan of Arc (as she is known in English) arrived at Orléans with her French soldiers and helped to lift the siege that the English had laid during the 100 Years War.

Was she for real?

Her (Rectified) Birth Chart

D'ArcJeanneWREJC1

There are two charts of her birth doing the rounds. The first one is dated January 6, 1413 @ 5 pm and the second dated January 6, 1410 @ 4:30 pm. And yet another one has the correct birth date of January 6, 1412 and the persistent time of 5 pm. (January 6th in the Gregorian calendar equates to January 15th.)

But these charts miss a biographical detail that the Maid herself gave in her own defence:

I was in my thirteenth year when I heard a voice from God to help me govern my conduct. And the first time I was very much afraid.

Using that little tidbit, I rectified her chart to a time of 7:25 am. The result showed, you guessed it, a Finger of God pointing at Pluto. (Bingo!)

Pluto in the Fifth House

You do not play like other young people, because you take any game very seriously, as if it were not really a game at all. You like to play for very high stakes, and whether you win or lose, it is the experience of putting everything on the line that appeals to you. At this point in your life, however, you may not recognize this, and you may wonder why playing with others and winning always seems so important.

I can imagine that the English couldn’t grasp why she should be leading the men into battle, so they brought the accusation of her being a witch to try her in a legal setting.

But there was another inconjunct in her chart which might explain this action to us.

Mars Inconjunct Uranus

Nevertheless, you need to find some outlet for your energy. It would not be good for you to hold it back totally, because if you do, you may be accident prone. Physical activity is a good way to use this potentially disruptive energy.

Like going into battle?!

Conclusion

43

How a young girl of less than 20 years could possibly lead an army of soldiers against a superior force is not something we can grasp easily. But Joan believed that God was on her side, and that was enough for her.

Would we were as sure, today…

Fukushima: Eight Years On

From the Files - Japan Earthquake: Five years on

Nuclear Waste

There’s a lot of talk these days about climate change and sea pollution, but we tend to forget that a lot of our present problems may have been triggered by this event, eight years ago.

Nuclear power was supposed to be the saviour of humanity from itself. If we could harness the power of nuclear reactions, we would no longer have to be reliant on fossil fuels, with their carbon footprints.

But playing with Divine Energy is a risky business. Ask any scientist.

Accidents Do Happen

Of course, they do. And sometimes human error is involved. But sometimes, the Cosmos sticks its oar in the water. Take Chernobyl, for example. The Universe aligned the planets and stars at just the right time to cause an accident. But that doesn’t prove anything to most people. Where are the facts? they ask. Here’s Wikipedia’s version of events.

Because the tsunami which triggered the accident was caused by the Tôhoku earthquake, this is truly an Act of God.

Earthquake Chart

EarthquakeTohokuWREJC1

There were two inconjuncts evident on the day, but only one was constant for all of that day and several days following:

Mars Inconjunct Saturn

This can be a difficult aspect because it signifies a conflict between your sense of responsibility and your desire to fulfill your own needs and do what you want. This leads to a struggle within you that may keep you from acting decisively. Instead of deciding what you will do, you feel caught between these two forces, wondering whether you have the right to do what you want. You may feel that others are trying to frustrate you, but it is only your own indecisiveness that is causing the trouble. Sometimes this conflict makes you very irritable and resentful about nothing in particular. Then, when someone happens to act in a way that is obviously annoying, you focus all your built-up anger on that person.

The obvious trigger is the following inconjunct, which held sway for almost 20 minutes:

Sun Inconjunct Ascendant

You may find that no matter how hard you try to show others who you really are, they misunderstand you somehow. This is because the angular relationship between your rising sign and Sun sign indicates that your internal energies are quite different from the energies that you show to the world. You are not intentionally dishonest with the world, you simply present a confusing complex of energies.

Conclusion

As always, we want to blame someone, anyone for our mistakes. But, as has been pointed out previously, we cannot seem to understand that we, ourselves, are involved, and mostly to blame.

The ‘official’ word is that only one person has died from exposure to the nuclear radiation at the reactor. But no one wants to admit that the waters are contaminated, the fish stocks are poisoned and the people living along the Pacific Ocean are dying more frequently than previously believed.

And, now, we’re going to send the best athletes of the world to compete in the summer Olympics in Tokyo next year. What a nuclear waste!

When Did We Last Do This?

kevin-roodhorst-0c1afc61726463-5a784c7c3d931

Lost Memory

My daughters are going to be traveling together for the first time since their teens. They are going to the Netherlands to visit their mother next month. Individually, they told me about it, while reminiscing about the last time.

As a trained hypnotherapist, I am fascinated when peoples’ memories are faulty. I was going to write ‘wrong’ but that’s a judgement call. The Mandela Effect seems to come into play, as it must have with my girls. My concern is the ages they thought they were when they last traveled together to Canada from the UK: they suggested 11 and 15. Since that journey took place in the spring of 1993, they have understated their ages by two years!

I would suggest, for the record, that the elder sibling is the one who got it ‘wrong’: she has demonstrated this underestimation of time previously, due to a great many factors, most of which I will not list here. But the loss of time, in general, may be due to her having an experience of sighting a UFO.

Her younger sister, who ordinarily gets things ‘right’, may have just gone along with her, to avoid conflict. But, then, I would have expected her to correct the time dilation when speaking to me. That she didn’t is what surprises me.

But I have to remember that other people don’t have the same capacity to recall exact dates and times years later. And this past event is now over 25 years ago!

As part of a writing challenge, my younger daughter recently wrote a series of poems. One of those poems was about lost memories…

Tracking Down a TV Jingle

bondi-vet

Bondi Vet

This is a long-time running reality TV show from Australia. We get a double-dose of it every weekday on the CBC in the late afternoon. The opening song is infectious:

“You make my world a better place: I can depend on you…”

What I was hoping to do was locate the original song and add it to my iTunes collection.

It turns out that it was a jingle written especially for the opening of the show. So, no luck.

Hidden Code: Put Inside a Computer

russian-hacker-putin

Putin’s Idea

Since I don’t really know what’s going on in the world of cyber spying, I have to rely upon my dream prompts. This one has come up more than once, including last night. But the twist is that no matter what anyone tries to do with their computer programs, at the root of all their codes are Russian words which hide subprograms designed to circumvent censorship. But what does that really mean?

In my dream, someone was trying to record a ‘new’ charity record, along the lines of Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas. It wasn’t going well, especially as they were capturing the separate parts digitally on their computer. Something kept going wrong, but no one knew what, exactly.

Because of previous dreams, I recognized that Putin had ‘put in’ some of these Russian codes, so that the sentiment of the song was being distorted. This is not dissimilar to what happens when the media try to blame everything on him. Even recently, one of the Canadian press establishments was suggesting that the Liberals will blame Russian hacking when/if they lose their majority in parliament. It couldn’t possibly be that they screwed things up themselves.

There was a short series in the UK called The Secret Agent which aired recently on PBS. A double agent working for the British in the late 1890’s was persuaded by the Russian Ambassador to detonate a bomb at the Greenwich Observatory. It didn’t go as planned, as these things often don’t, because the idea was to then blame the bombing on a group of militant workers who were striking for better working conditions. Sound familiar?

In fact, the Russians (and then the Soviets and now the Russians again) are blamed whenever anything goes wrong in peacetime. John le Carré has made a writing career documenting the West’s obsession with Russia.

I think we tend to forget that Vladimir Putin used to be an intelligence officer in the KGB before becoming President. I’m sure old habits die hard.
