The Erotic Poetry of Catullus

When we studied Latin in High School, it seemed boring. After all, didn’t they call it a “dead” language? Then they introduced us to the poetry of Catullus. Our senses perked up instantly. A dead language? His work came alive for us.

Catullus

Catullus

According to Wikipedia: Gaius Valerius Catullus (/kəˈtʌləs/; c. 84 – 54 BC) was a Latin poet of the late Roman Republic who wrote in the neoteric style of poetry. His surviving works are still read widely, and continue to influence poetry and other forms of art.

Catullus’ poems were widely appreciated by other poets. He greatly influenced poets such as Ovid, Horace, and Virgil. After his rediscovery in the late Middle Ages, Catullus again found admirers. His explicit writing style has shocked many readers. Indeed, Catullus was never considered one of the canonical school authors, although his body of work is still frequently read from secondary school to graduate programs across the world.

As part of an assembly for the rest of the school, I translated two of Catullus’ poems and presented my poetic renderings for the students. I have reproduced them here.

Gleaning

Carmen XLVII

Mellitos oculis tuos, Iuventi,
siquis me sinat usque basiare,
usque as milia basiem trecenta,
nec mi umquam videar satur futurus,
non di densior aridis aristis
sit nostrae seges osculationis.

The Gleaning in Your Eyes

If I could kiss you all the way
From your sweet eyes to your bosom
With three hundred thousand kisses
I’d be forever moistening
Some thick dry plough so as to reap
Each new harvest of our kisses.

Desire

Carmen CVII

Desire

If something, for which I’d had desire so deep
For more than half of time’s eternity,

Came unexpectedly, I’d surely keep
A welcome mat to rest my grateful knee.
Then this thing has more value than lost gold,

Cause you, my dear, have restored my desire
As a nice surprise, by letting me hold
Nothing but your own, brightest known, White Fire.

So restored is my zest for life and love,
Oh darling, that I dare anyone who

Can, to state, whether, on earth or above,
A man exists who is happier to
Name his heart’s true desire than me alone:

In my life, who else but you could have known?

Raelism: the raelity

While researching for my next ebook, “Other Points in Time”, I decided to revisit the start of Raelism, which occurred on the morning of December 13, 1973.

Raelian_symbols.svg

What is Raelism?

RaelismStartofWREJC1

The Start of Raelism

“Raëlism, also known as Raelianism or the Raëlian movement, is a UFO religion that was founded in 1974 by Claude Vorilhon, now known as Raël. It is numerically the world’s largest UFO religion. An adherent of Raëlism is a Raëlian.” (Wikipedia)

That is rather succinct, but it is a good starting place. Here’s a link to their site:http://www.rael.org/

My Interest in Raelism

In the late 1970’s I came across a book by Rael (Claude Varilhon) which outlined his encounter with an alien named Yahweh and what was explained to him. The part that caught my attention was the concept that: ‘In Raëlian cosmology, our observable universe is an “atom” of a much larger level of matter (and possibly organism) and subatomic particles in our bodies also possess universes like our own, but on a much smaller scale. This pattern, atom within universe within atom, is believed to be infinitely repetitive, from the infinitely small, to the infinitely large.’

Yes, that caught my attention, since I felt that “God” was a being that made up our space and we were living in and through that being. Even the ‘big bang’ was some form of conception, if you can conceive of such a thing (as director Luc Besson did visually in his film Lucy, starring Scarlett Johansson). It has been my touchstone ever since, although I have long stopped being an active adherent. My reason? They claim to be atheistic, not believing in “God” and I have a wee problem with that. They are actually splitting hairs, because the Elohim (also known as ‘gods’ in the Old Testament) were our creators, and they believe in them. The sticking point is that the Raelians don’t believe in One God, and that’s where I think they’ve missed the point. They can imagine the cosmology, as stated above, but not connect that with “For in him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28).

The Exact Time?

Needless to say, the chart was always going to be interesting, but the one detail that was sketchy was the time of the encounter. Rael says that instead of driving to work, he kept going, as if led to do so, until he found himself in a remote place. That implies sometime that morning after 9 am local time. When I first erected this chart, I saw the beginnings of an interesting aspect or two, and then just kept moving the time forward until it locked into place at 11:11 am. Was this the original 11:11 gate (as discussed in At This Point in Time)? That’s intriguing. This point in time may not be the exact first moment of their encounter, but it could relate to the moment when the game changed for Rael.

The Conclusion

So, as I see it, the problem can be summed up in very few words: Yahweh is part of those that come from the sky, effectively our fathers. This encounter must have created an inner conflict of self-will versus obedience to a higher being. As we have seen, Claude Varilhon (after a few months of such inner turmoil that he developed ulcers) decided to knuckle down to his father’s will, changed his name to Rael, and began to share the knowledge with the world. http://raelian.com/en/jean_sendy.php

David Icke: The Perception Deception (or…It’s ALL bollocks – yes, All of it)

I’ve known about David Icke’s campaign to wake up the world since his infamous Terry Wogan interview in the early 1990’s. The things he says would be the subject of defamation lawsuits if anyone else had said them, but because the public’s perception of him is that he’s a ‘nutter’, no one seems to bother…

Is David Icke a ‘Nutter’?

Well, he’s not a ‘nutter’, folks, but “there are none so blind as they who will not see.” This latest book is a review of everything he’s been telling the world for almost 25 years. It’s hard reading at times because it means having to revisit every presumption you’ve ever had, (or more accurately) you’ve ever been taught. But if even the smallest change can be made to your point of view, the whole facade can be seen for the house of cards it is.

The Perception Deception

In the Beginning was the Demiurge?

Everything that David Icke writes about in his book stems from this one idea. But what is the Demiurge?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demiurge

According to Greek tradition, he is the creator of the universe, but he is not God. That concept became a central concept of Gnostic thought at the start of Christianity, and has been a recurring theme throughout history with those that think ‘outside the box’.

By the time of the Crusades in the 13th century, the idea was considered a heresy, by the Roman Catholic Church, which had to be stamped out. As a consequence, believers in this concept, like the Cathars in the South of France, were massacred.

cherubim-blake

But is the Demiurge Equivalent to the Devil?

There is a school of Gnostic thought that says that everything in this world is evil. Only the ‘Other Side’ (death) is good. In our religious education we are taught that Good = God and Evil = Devil. (This is where David reminds us that ‘evil’ is ‘live’ reversed.) In order for us to get on in this world, we have to learn to cope with that evil. (“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof” Matthew 6:34; in other words, “Don’t sweat the small stuff”.)

The original concepts of Good and Evil personified come from Zoroastrianism, a Persian religion.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoroastrianism This perhaps explains why the Iranians see the United States of America as “The Great Satan”. But Americans would disagree. It all depends on your point of view (PoV).

But we still have difficulty figuring out who the good and bad guys are when almost everything we are taught is an inversion of the Truth. That’s where David’s book is useful.

A Spiritual Perspective

David’s journey to discover the Truth starts at the beginning of the 1990’s.

“I began to notice what you might call a ‘presence’ around me in early 1989. Whenever I was in a room alone it was like I wasn’t alone. This became more powerful over many months and one night in 1990 the presence was so tangible in a London hotel room that I said out loud: ‘If there is anybody here, will you please contact me because you are driving me up the wall!’ A matter of days later I was with my son, Gareth , at a newspaper and book shop near our home. Gaz is a brilliant singer-songwriter now, but he was only a little boy then. I was talking to someone outside the shop while Gaz was inside looking at railway books and I eventually went in to say that it was time to go. But as I stood in the doorway, my feet became stuck to the ground as if magnets were pulling them to the floor. I was standing there bewildered when I heard a ‘voice’, or very strong thought, pass through my mind. It said: ‘Go and look at the books on the far side.’ The pressure I felt on the soles of my feet subsided and I walked in a daze towards the book section. I immediately spotted a book in among the romantic novels, because it looked so different to all the rest. The book was called Mind to Mind written by a lady called Betty Shine.” Icke, David (2013-11-22). The Perception Deception – Part One (Kindle Locations 116-124). David Icke Books Limited. Kindle Edition.

David went to visit Betty and she had a series of messages for him:
“• He is a healer who is here to heal the Earth and he will be world famous. • He is still a child, spiritually, but he will be given the spiritual riches. • Sometimes he will say things and wonder where they came from. They will be our words. • Knowledge will be put into his mind and at other times he will be led to knowledge. • He was chosen as a youngster for his courage. He has been tested and has passed all the tests. • He was led into football to learn discipline, but when that was learned it was time to move on. He also had to learn how to cope with disappointment, experience all the emotions, and how to get up and get on with it. The spiritual way is tough and no one makes it easy. • He will always have what he needs , but no more.

“I saw Betty Shine a week later and the same thing happened. These messages included: • One man cannot change the world, but one man can communicate the message that will change the world. • Don’t try to do it all alone. Go hand in hand with others, so you can pick each other up as you fall. • He will write five books in three years. • Politics is not for him. He is too spiritual. Politics is anti-spiritual and will make him very unhappy. • He will leave politics. He doesn’t have to do anything. It will happen gradually over a year. • There will be a different kind of flying machine, very different from the aircraft of today. • Time will have no meaning. Where you want to be, you will be.” Icke, David (2013-11-22). The Perception Deception – Part One (Kindle Locations 144-162). David Icke Books Limited. Kindle Edition.

The “Event” in Peru

In early 1991, David felt an urge to visit Peru. “It” happened at Sillustani, near the city of Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca. In his book he describes what happened as an echo of the incident at the book shop, where his feet were stuck to the floor like magnets and his arms stretched out in a 45 degree angle.

“I made no conscious decision to do this – it just happened. I clearly heard a voice in my mind at this point saying: ‘It will be over when you feel the rain.’ This seemed crazy because there was not a cloud in the sky in any direction. The energy passing through me became ever more powerful until my whole body was shaking. Time meant nothing anymore. It didn’t exist (which it doesn’t in truth, as I shall explain). I returned to my conscious mind every now and again, but mostly I was ‘out there’ while all this was going on. I saw a light grey mist over the distant mountains during one of these conscious mind moments . The mist became progressively darker very quickly and I could see that it was now raining heavily. I watched the storm come towards me in a straight-line ‘front’ until the clouds covered the Sun and a wall of stair-rod rain came across the hill and struck me with such power that I was instantly drenched. As the rain hit me, the energy that had been passing through me for maybe an hour immediately stopped. My arms had been in the air all this time and I felt nothing, but now my shoulders were very painful and my legs so weak that for few minutes I struggled to stand. Energy was still pouring from my hands and feet. My feet were like that for the next 24 hours. I had no idea what had just happened and it was only years later that I understood the process. The energy passing through me was establishing an electromagnetic connection through which information could be communicated. I was being ‘locked-in’ to ‘Mission Control’ in some other dimension or dimensions of reality, and something known as the ‘kundalini’ was also being activated. This is an energy located in the lower spinal area which, when activated, shoots up the central nervous system and out through the top of the head to connect you with other levels of reality.” Icke, David (2013-11-22). The Perception Deception – Part One (Kindle Locations 191-204). David Icke Books Limited. Kindle Edition.

Archons, Archons Everywhere

When he began his ‘journey of discovery’, he was led to view the world in an entirely different light. This meant that he began to see evil everywhere, because it is an aspect of limitation (as experienced by our five senses) in the three dimensions (height, length and breadth). Once a person’s perspective steps outside of the body (as in meditation and hypnosis), the view is entirely different: timeless and infinite.

“Let us explore some of these ‘mysteries’ that mainstream ‘science’ finds so bewildering and will continue to do so while it stagnates and slumbers in its cul-de-sac of dogma and rigidity. Funny, when you come from the perspective that I am detailing here they no longer appear to be mysterious at all, let alone bewildering. I have mentioned one, already; how can atoms that aren’t solid be the building blocks of a solid world? Well, clearly they can’t be and they don’t have to be because the world isn’t solid. They are simply part of the process in which waveform information is decoded into electrical, digital and holographic states. Another apparent mystery: why have scientists discovered that something can take a waveform and a particle form at the same time? Well, look at holograms and the question answers itself. The apparently three-dimensional holographic projection of an object is just that – a projection. It only exists because the laser is reading waveform information encoded in the interference pattern on the photographic film or plate.” Icke, David (2013-11-22). The Perception Deception – Part One (Kindle Locations 872-880). David Icke Books Limited. Kindle Edition.

Once you begin to ‘see’ from the ‘Other’ perspective, you wake up to the fact that it’s “All Bollocks” as David so often states in this book.

Liz and Chuck

Lizard Energy

A relative of mine claims to have had a close encounter of the first kind (CE1) with a UFO (which means that she saw one in the sky above her home). After that sequence, she had a voice speak to her through the bathroom tiles when she took a bath. One of the strange things she was told was that the Queen wasn’t alive. Well, that got her attention, didn’t it? David Icke says something similar, but in a different way: he says the Royal Family are hybrid Lizard/Humans, meaning that their bloodlines are energetically changed to a different frequency. This, for all intents and purposes, explains that they are ‘dead’ emotionally to this world, and have no empathy for the ordinary people (their subjects). (Maybe that is why Diana had such a hard time with life in the Family Business.)

However, David sees ‘proof’ of this alien lifeform in the attitudes and actions of those in government and their agencies. “Satanism is not driven and directed by the small fry who (mis) perform rituals in their front room with candles and inverted pentagrams. These people do exist and their energy field will be possessed by the comparatively small -fry malevolence that they invoke. But real Satanism which dictates world events is the fiefdom of the rich and famous – royalty, aristocracy, politicians, bankers, leading business people, media owners, executives and ‘stars’ in the entertainment industry, lawyers, doctors and others perceived as the very upright pillars of society. They are the El-lite who knowingly serve and worship the Demiurge-Archons.” Icke, David (2013-11-22). The Perception Deception – Part One (Kindle Locations 5713-5717). David Icke Books Limited. Kindle Edition.

He tackles their ‘evil’ by highlighting the paedophiles who have been in government for years. This is where most people have tuned out of his ideas, but his relentless pursuit of the Truth has brought information to light which has finally shown he was correct all along, especially with politicians in the United Kingdom.

The Matrix

David makes great use of the concepts, quotations and imagery from The Matrix. But he also quotes from Carlos Castaneda’s final book The Active Side of Infinity. His reason for doing so is that Don Juan Matus explains that there is a hidden force known as the ‘Flyers’ who covertly control human society. David equates them to the Machine species in the Matrix, who require human energy to run the world. He then goes on to say:

“So much comes from this with regard to what I have been saying and writing all these years: ‘Human beings are its prisoners’ – ‘You are a slave, Neo, born into bondage, born into a prison you cannot see, taste or touch – a prison for your mind’. ‘They took us over because we are food to them, and they squeeze us mercilessly because we are their sustenance’ – They feed off our low-vibrational emotional energy which they induce through the biological software programs they implanted within ‘junk’ DNA. ‘Think for a moment, and tell me how you would explain the contradictions between the intelligence of man the engineer and the stupidity of his systems of belief, or the stupidity of his contradictory behaviour’ – Humans are programmed and manipulated to be just intelligent enough to serve as slaves, but not intelligent enough to see that this is what they are. ‘Sorcerers believe that the predators have given us our systems of beliefs, our ideas of good and evil; our social mores’ – This is exactly what they have done through the perception and emotional programs, the creation of religions covertly worshipping them as ‘God’, and through the structure of human society. ‘They are the ones who set up our dreams of success or failure’ – ditto. ‘It is the predator who makes us complacent, routinary and egomaniacal’ – ditto. ‘They gave us their mind’ – I have explained in this chapter how they have done that and I will expand on the theme as we go along. ‘The predators’ mind is baroque, contradictory, morose, filled with the fear of being discovered any minute now’ – Humans in their true heart-centred Awareness are far more powerful than the Archons and when we remember this fact we can delete their energy source (‘ food source’) and crash their Control System. They know that and this is why they have to maintain the human Body-Mind in a state of disconnected amnesia and a fake self-identity of name, job, family, life-story and little me.” Icke, David (2013-11-22). The Perception Deception – Part One (Kindle Locations 3366-3380). David Icke Books Limited. Kindle Edition.

Could these beings actually exist and is that why we are in the predicament we are today?

Newspeak

Newspeak

The term ‘Newspeak’ comes from the novel 1984 by George Orwell. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newspeak As one would expect, anyone using Newspeak is trying to give a false impression of what they mean. David cites quite a few instances in his book where Newspeak is employed by governments to hide their true purpose: Child Protection Agency (to separate children from their parents); World Health Organization (to direct drug spending to Big Pharma away from holistic methods of healing); Political Correctness (to control any alternative thinking). The list goes on and on. When you hear a newscaster put a particular spin on something in a newscast, think Newspeak and you’ll probably get the real message.

Conclusion

Does David have a solution to the mess we’re in? Of course he does, but it’s not what you might expect.

“People might expect me to set out a whole plan and manifesto here for bringing down the Archontic system, but I don’t need to. The answers are simple and they lie in the heart. Effective action will follow – and only follow – once we have freed ourselves from the perception deception. This requires the open-minded pursuit of knowledge and the end of close -minded ignorance and the arrogance that protects belief from re-appraisal; it means lifting the eyes from the twigs to see the forest; questioning the ‘ known’ and exploring the ‘unknown’; remembering that we are Infinite Awareness and not little me; moving our attention and point of interaction from belly emotions to the heart; loving, respecting and supporting each other; and doing unto others as we would have done unto us.” Icke, David (2014-02-27). The Perception Deception – Part Two (Kindle Locations 11169-11175). David Icke Books Limited. Kindle Edition.

So, thank you, David, for being the ‘voice of one crying in the wilderness’. I, for one, appreciate the fact that you haven’t given up the fight for a more perfect world. If we choose to stay asleep, we can’t say we hadn’t been warned.

Uri Geller: Master of Deception?

Uri

Let’s face it, Uri Geller is an enigma. What do we really know about him, other than what he wants us to know? Nothing. There’s been a lot of speculation: let’s use the power of Astrology to review his life so far.

The Incident

GellerUriWREJC1
Uri Geller Birth Chart

According to Uri’s own account, he was contacted by the occupant of a UFO in December 1949, when he was three years of age. Here’s how Andrija Puharich relates the tale in his book URI: A Journal of the Mystery of Uri Geller:

‘Uri awoke from what seemed like a long, long sleep, and he knew by his stomach clock, and by the shadows, that he had missed his noonday meal. He decided to take a trip around this vast scented forest before going home. As he reached the south side of the pool, with the sun at his back, he looked up at the clear sky over the pool. Slowly settling down from the sky was a huge, silent, bowl-shaped object. He stared in fascination: What kind of airplane was this? All the planes his father had shown him were wonderfully noisy things with bird-like wings. This one was as quiet as his garden. It looked like the bottom of his mother’s huge aluminum bowl, which she used to wash vegetables. It gave him a feeling of peace and beauty and of strength like when he was with his father.

‘Suddenly between himself and the bowl in the sky there was the shadow of a huge figure like the shadow of a man with a long cape, because there were no arms or legs to be seen. As he stared at this figure, a blinding ray of light came from its head and struck Uri so forcibly that he fell over backward and into a deep sleep.’ (Page 3)

He awake some time later to the setting sun, and looked for the bowl but didn’t see it again.

The ‘Trick’ Watch

In June 1953, at 10:30 am one hot Tel Aviv day, Uri was bored with the Hebrew classroom. He wished it to be 12 noon so he could have lunch and get outside to play. For a second, he thought about the metal bowl in the sky. When he looked at his watch, and it read 12 o’clock. That night he gave the watch to his mother to get it fixed. A week later he got it back. We pick up the story from Puharich’s book.

‘It was another hot, steamy day. He wished school was over. He looked at the wall clock. It read only 10:30 A.M. He looked at his wristwatch. It said 12 noon. He was angry. He thought, “Stupid watch — work right!” He looked at the watch again. It was 11:30 A.M. He looked around to see if any of his classmates were watching him. No one paid any attention. Then he closed his eyes — wished hard that it would be 12 noon and that class would be over! He peeked at his wristwatch and it said 12 noon. He felt his heart leap! But when he looked at the wall clock, it was 10:31 A.M., and his heart sank. He couldn’t get out of this classroom. He looked back at his wristwatch, which now read the same as the wall clock, 10:31. Now he was getting angry.’ (Page 5)

He got his friend Mordechai to hold the watch while he concentrated on the end of the school day. Mordechai confirmed that the hands were at 12 noon, although the wall clock was still about 10:30. Later, when Uri showed some other children what his watch could do, they asked him how the trick worked. When he said it wasn’t a trick, they jeered at him. He stopped showing them what the watch could do after that.

Spying for Israel in Cyprus

One day, after he and his mother moved to Cyprus (his parents had separated due to his father’s involvement as an Israeli soldier), Uri overheard a conversation between a resident at his step-father’s hotel and some other men,who were obviously spies. He subsequently approached the man, and they became friends. When Uri confronted him about his extracurricular activities, the man offered to let Uri work for him, as a courier, to keep him quiet about it. We pick up Puharich’s retelling of the tale.

‘Thus it was that Uri became a courier for an Israeli spy ring on Cyprus when he was sixteen years old. About a year later, after he had seen Joav come and go from the island many times, he was complimented by Joav for doing a good job. One of the things that Uri had to do was to deliver the letters he picked up to the Israeli consulate when Joav was not on the island.’ (Pages 17-18)

However, that year, Uri’s stepfather died of a heart attack, and his mother, after trying to make a go of the small hotel for a couple of years, had to sell it for a sacrifice price. She and Uri moved back to Tel Aviv just before his eighteenth birthday. He then joined the Israeli armed forces as a paratrooper.

His Birth Chart tells the same tale

GellerUri(2)WREJC2
Uri Geller Birth Chart 2

If you are wondering why I would spend so much time outlining these three incidents from his formative years, please understand that the birth chart shows a similar time line. But because I cannot know for sure what time Uri Geller was born, I have relied upon information that others have ‘divined’ (for want of a better term).

I suspect that the choice of the timing of this birth was taken in order to have Chiron (‘the wounded healer’) be conjunct his Ascendant in Scorpio. The reason may have been to highlight the secretive side of his nature. I think that it is wrong. By moving the time of his birth to 6:25 pm, the positions of the planets then support the story of his life.

Mars as the Key

When Uri joined the Israeli armed forces, he saw battle during the Six Day War in 1967. What works for me is the placement of Mars as the final one in a series of planets. It is the planet that signifies ‘the soldier’ and also ‘accidents’. Whenever I want to rectify a chart (meaning, get the time right for the person’s birth), I focus on where Mars would be placed if the person came close to dying in his life. This second chart is more accurate as it places his age at about 21 years for the Mars incident.

Neptune as the Fairy Godmother

Now that we have Mars tied down, the planet Neptune appears in Uri’s chart at age three. This is the time when the UFO encounter took place. When the beam hit him, it was like having a magic wand waved over him and his life would never be the same. Neptune is the planet of illusion, and it seems to be activated at this early stage in Uri’s life. There has been a lot written about whether he is really psychic or just a great mentalist. It would seem that James Randi has bet a lot of money on the fact that Uri is a fake when it comes to any ‘real’ ability.

According to Randi, ‘Psychics, those who claim to be able to read minds, to move objects at a distance by “mind power,” and to do other “supernatural” things, seem to be more than just gifted people. They also have a very special set of rules by which they operate, and by which they insist on being judged. The “negative success” business is just one special rule. It means that when you win, you win; and when you lose, you win…Psychics cannot function when nonbelievers are present, either. Even the presence of a skeptic dooms their experiments to failure, and causes them great distress.’ Randi, James (2011-08-28). The Truth About Uri Geller (Kindle Locations 237-241). James Randi Educational Foundation. Kindle Edition.

We also have a clue about his reasons for being this way: the ‘trick’ watch incident.

Jupiter/Venus Conjunction as Motivation

When Uri was about six-and-a-half, he started moving the hands of his watch by just using his ‘mind’. The Jupiter/Venus conjunction fits in with that timing. The following is a quote from Robert Hand’s Planets in Youth: ‘This is an extremely positive aspect in most ways. It indicates that you are warm, generous and affectionate, and you enjoy receiving affection from others as well. You are faithful to your friends and loved ones, for you understand that liking people gives you a responsibility to do what is right by them. You don’t think of this as a burden, but as part of being with people, which you enjoy. You are very social and enjoy parties and good times. Being with others, either singly or in groups, brings out the best in you. You seem to inspire other people and raise their spirits.’ (Page 194)

I think that sharing his ‘trick’ watch experience with others made him leery of being considered a fake and a fraud, For this reason, he started bending spoons ‘with his mind’ to win peoples’ admiration and acclaim. But according to Randi, Uri is nothing more than a very good conjurer. This could be true, because the placement of Venus and Jupiter (and the Moon) is in the secretive sign of Scorpio.

He does not want to be made fun of any more, so even if he were perpetrating a fraud with the spoon, he would never admit to it.

Pluto as the Energizer

There is a need to shine, as we have already seen, but the way Uri shines has a decidedly disquieting energy attached to it. Pluto (conjunct to Saturn) is in the first house (the ‘Personality’) in the sign of Leo, which represents the ‘Entertainer’. I suspect the whole world is Uri’s stage and the more controversial he is, the better he likes it. Pluto is akin to having a deep psychological itch that needs scratching. If he wasn’t successful as an entertainer, he would have considered himself a failure. He needn’t have worried.

Sun as a Career

Finally, by having Mars where it is now, I can then see where the Sun is (and in this case, it’s between 16 and 18 years of age). That means that the adventure Uri had in Cyprus as a budding spy looks like the start of his ‘real’ career.

Uranus the Lightbringer

The position of Uranus at the cusp of the twelfth house in the sign of Gemini may be pivotal to the fullest understanding of what the enigma of Uri Geller’s life is. His purpose is to bring a higher electrical energy into this world. It is true that his effect on people in the 1970’s was electrifying. Did you know that ‘Uri’ means ‘light’? Doesn’t that tell you everything?

My Satanic Struggle

In 1978, I wrote a screenplay based upon a poem I had written in the mid-70’s. The story was set in the future, but the roots were definitely in the past. Here is the epic poem in its entirety. You decide whether my predictions have come true or not.

Canto I

The year was nineteen hundred and eighty-four
When the authorities declared all-out war
On the new believers of that Christian view
Who are in the minority, very few

That steadfastly cling to newly learned words,
As their brothers are removed like wounded birds.
These are the same ones who scorned when Jesus died;
They said that his disciples must have lied,

When their glad Easter tidings they were told
About his quick escape from death’s icy hold.
Why they waged this war is now the question here:
Maybe they felt that God’s promise brings great fear

To those now in control of this planet’s sphere;
Yet mere words are all I have to make this clear.

Canto II

My name is Thomas Benjamin, or I think
It must have been before I began to sink
Into that cold otherworldly realm of sin,
From whence no one comes out once he has gone in.

Some time ago, I was a good minister,
A preacher of holy words, not sinister;
My heart and mind were truthful in servitude,
And I spent many a lengthy interlude

Fighting sin within the unbelievers’ souls
As if I kept them from the eternal coals.
I do not know if God knew of my good deeds,
But hopefully my words planted fertile seeds

To keep more faint hearts away from Satan’s weeds
And try a satisfy their spiritual needs.

Canto III

What happened then? You’ll ask me that, I’m sure;
I have wondered if I were much too impure
To enter into the gates of His kingdom:
Perhaps that’s why I stayed after Christ had come

To take all the others in that one moment;
He left me alone in my sin when he went.
Why was I so ill-prepared for His return?
That is something you have yet about to learn.

The religious sects would say I’m mad,
But there have been times that I was truly glad
That I was left behind to release the locks,
For others to escape from the Devil’s box;

Removing our earthly stumbling blocks;
Fostering harmony between doves and hawks.

Canto IV

I think it all began in sixty-nine,
When my shallow life slipped down a steep decline;
My world, as I had known it, flew apart,
As my wife left me, flattened, broken in heart.

She took my three girls, my bundles of great joy,
Leaving me behind her one and only boy.
Our marriage had been one of conflict and hate,
And my attempt to change had just come too late.

Was I to comprehend her bitter feelings
About my omnipresent social dealings
With the Devil, and the cold substantial fears,
Created by his lies throughout our ten years,

Which caused her many sad and bitter tears
To fall from the frightened eyes of deafened ears?

Canto V

Still, God must have had some good ultra-purpose
To allow worldly care to separate us.
He knows, not I, what the reason was, or why
An evil schism left our joint life to die.

I have tried to analyse the covert cause,
But decided, as one of God’s many laws
He decrees from His golden throne, far above,
That a sad marriage must end without love.

In retrospect, our new lives were spent better
Apart, as if, since the time that I’d met her,
We’d remained in a cold conjugal fetter,
Punished like some poor delinquent debtor.

Canto VI

And yet, the conflict rage on, within my mind,
Trying to justify such actions, so unkind,
That my heart was subdivided into pain
Caused by sharp remarks now fighting in my brain.

My preoccupation became so intense
That my perception lost all logical sense,
Until all my superiors thought it best
I left the ministry for some other quest.

At first, I balked with hard feelings, quite intense,
But three lonely years of personal penance
Softened my old approach to the painful past,
And opened up my sad soul to things aghast

Which, once hidden, were uncovered at long last,
To cause my childish spirit to grow up fast.

Canto VII

I had not, however, reached rock bottom, yet;
For, when I felt I had paid my moral debt,
I moved out here to try to patch things up,
But got more that I bargained for in my cup.

As I tried hard my estranged wife to see,
I received, instead, a fast divorce decree.
My world was completely shattered into bits,
And into periods of depressive fits

I fell, so hard that it took a lengthy term
Before I’d attempt to stand on ground more firm.
Meanwhile I wallowed in my own self-pity,
And wandered, lost, around this huge, dark city;

My flaccid tongue was never bright and witty;
My mind could not compose a sermon, pretty.

Canto VIII

God must have known for I feel that I did not.
It seemed my life was either ice cold or hot.
And, like a man with a fever, I tossed and turned
Between what my vast experience had learned,

And what I’d always been taught in school, instead,
Until my soft heart over-ruled my hard head.
Living alone, I tried out many churches,
Before finding the answer to my searches

In a large charismatic congregation,
Where people, born of ev’ry tribe and nation,
Join together to worship our Lord’s strength, great
Enough to heal the spirit from corrupt hate,

To cause anxieties to calmly abate,
Increasing one’s patience to watch, sit and wait.

Canto IX

It was there that I learned of the healing gifts,
And the powerful spiritual uplifts
Which were used to comfort me in times of fear,
As I would cause my mind to be quite clear,

To be much better prepared for Christ’s return,
When more about His presence I would learn.
The more knowledge that I gained, the more I sought
To answer Satan’s sin, which long I had fought,

During many years since past, when I was young
And God’s holy breath was still within my lung.
I must have bitten off more than I could chew,
For the Devil, in a battle, did renew

His tempting evil sins on God’s chosen few,
Until at last he probably won me, too.

Canto X

Jacob and the Angel

It has been said that you become what you eat,
And, if one insists on gnawing on bad meat,
Then the consequences of a bad stomach ache
Must be borne for corruption’s disgusting sake.

Thus was it also with me, in this regard:
I tried to attack the evil which is hard,
Because the Devil’s strength is so dominant,
He does not quit, nor will he ever relent

From trying to destroy any person’s creed
With God, so that, once his sin has taken seed,
It quickly grows to encompass ev’rything
Good and bad, which each of us must humbly bring

To the altar, exclusively for our King,
From Whom the rejections could easily spring.

Canto XI

God hates the sight of evil so very much
That He even refused His own Son to touch,
When crucified for us, He bore ev’ry sin,
So that over Death’s realm he might ever win.

Maybe constant contact with that evil one
Could have caused my upright soul to come undone,
To slip from God’s great esteem and loving grace,
So that He could never stand to see my face

Before His excellent and heavenly throne,
Where my many misdemeanours would be shown.
Somewhere along the way I had gone astray,
And, ‘though I hoped that I would find the proper way,

I never thought that on Christ’s returning day
I would remain while others went away.

Canto XII

But that day finally arrived in ‘eighty-two,
And, before any one of us really knew
What was coming to pass, Jesus did return,
Before a twinkling of an eye could discern

That this indeed was the only living Christ,
And all the Christians were taken in the heist.
He told us He’s return like a night-time thief,
And to those who had been patient came relief,

As their cares were finally laid to rest,
Because they knew they’d passed the fidelity test.
At first I thought that there had been a mistake,
Or that maybe He had only been a fake;

But it didn’t take me long to re-awake
To the fact that I was one He did forsake.

Canto XIII

I don’t think that there has ever been a time
When I had known guilt for committing a crime,
But, somehow, as I felt completely alone,
The hard depression caused my spirit to moan

Long and low, with a sad burdening of pain;
How could my friends all leave and I yet remain?
Was it anything that I had said or done,
Or just, while under stress, I’d chosen to run?

Maybe I should have kept fighting those times, so hard;
Instead I just gave up and let down my guard,
Preferring to take the much easier route.
Satan must have found me, his purpose to suit,

Easy to cast under the spell of his flute,
Changing me from a gentleman to a brute.

Canto XIV

I recall one encounter I had with him,
When he caused my brilliant memories to dim;
Because he is the only Prince of Darkness,
He can cloud up the mind to reason far less

Efficiently than within the Truth of Light,
When one’s thinking is done with much more insight.
It was when I first met with his awesome strength
That I realised he’d go to any length

To put under his own restraining control
My life and my limbs and my eternal soul.
I resisted, with my ev’ry mortal power,
Any attempt he used to cause me to cower,

And, minute by long minute, hour by long hour,
We struggled on until my sweet world turned sour.

Canto XV

When I saw that I could lose the whole skirmish,
I sought God’s hand to help me do as I wished;
While not answering to my call right away,
He let me flounder in my mistaken fray,

To teach me an immensely precious lesson:
That I should never try to replace His Son
In doing battle with the Fallen Angel,
Or, single-handedly, opposing his hell,

For which I have neither the strength nor the will;
Nor could I ever aspire to quite fulfil
The dream of being the world’s best exorcist,
But the temptation was too good to resist,

And now I can do nothing but shake my fist
At God, for removing my name from His list.

Canto XVI

Strangely enough, the world seemed to prosper on:
People began to appreciate the dawn.
Outlooks, onward from Christ’s rapture, seemed to change:
We had only one leader in the world,
And now, over our heads, one flag was unfurled.

The rumours of war now began to decrease,
And ev’rywhere was a good feeling of peace.
The famines were gone, as was the parching thirst,
And all felt we had come through the worst

That anyone would ever have to suffer;
But we didn’t know that it would get rougher,
And, to survive, we’d have to be tougher,
Or require God as a solid zone-buffer.

Canto XVII

Our super-specialised space technology
Had replaced a much needed theology,
With computer banks lending out new knowledge
To the leader who, keeping the world on edge,

Waits for prosperity to come to an end.
Money, not used now to borrow or to lend,
Has become an obsolete wall covering,
While, in the darker background, is hovering

The Devil, who, controlling the Antichrist,
Has the world, fragile, so paper-thinly sliced,
That one would think he’s like to have the whole cake
And eat it, too; that he’s only out to take

All that he can get for his very own sake,
While avoiding the eternal Fiery Lake.

Canto XVIII

Most of the ones who remained behind on Earth
Could no longer rear children or give them birth,
Because their attitudes had become selfish,
Now that they almost got their every wish,

Whether the desire was good for them or not,
Because the more that they got, the more they sought.
For three years this state of Community stood,
Until, finally, some of us understood

That the Devil was its central universe,
And for us nothing could forewarn us worse
Than to be awakened to a rude shock wave
That something must be done to quickly save

Those long-lost souls who’d each become a slave
On a road which sinful lives now blindly pave.

To Everything There is a Season

When we were young, we thought that we’d work forever, or at least as long as our health held out. But then there comes a time to lay the burden of work down. For me, the time is now.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

You probably know this scripture as the basis for Pete Seeger’s song “Turn Turn Turn”. In fact, you may only know his words, and not the original, so let’s start with the biblical quotation.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
A time of war, and a time of peace.

I feel that these words are a proof of sorts that Astrology is real, and that the timing of events can be predicted, and thereby accepted as they occur.

Solar Eclipse 2015

On Friday of this past week, the world woke up to a solar eclipse. Not every part of the world could see it in its entirety, but most people in Europe were able to catch glimpses of it through the clouds. In fact, I found this moody photo on Facebook.

Most of the time, eclipses happen (at least twice a year) without much attention paid to them, but this one was different for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, it was a ‘supermoon’.“A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth. The technical name is the perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system. The term “supermoon” is not astronomical, but originated in modern astrology.” (Wikipedia)

Secondly, it came on the Spring Equinox, the first day of the astrological new year. “An equinox occurs twice a year, around 20 March and 22 September. The word itself has several related definitions. The oldest meaning is the day when daytime and night are of approximately equal duration. The word equinox comes from this definition, derived from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night).” (Wikipedia)

If anything, this bodes well for the world, because it implies a new beginning.

My Retirement

When I erected the chart for the Solar Eclipse 2015, I was surprised to see that the North Node and South Node of the chart were in the opposite positions of my birth Nodes. That set me to thinking. Is this somehow significant?

You see, Astrology for me is not a hard and fast rule to be applied to my life. Most of the time, I don’t even refer to it, as far as my life is concerned. I let things come and then let them go, without wondering if there is a cosmic counterpart to the event.

Well, I’m here to tell you that there is proof of a season for everything, and it would seem to be the Moon’s Nodes in my chart, as far as my working life is concerned. To see more on these Nodes follow this link: http://astrostyle.com/learn-astrology/north-south-nodes/

The implication is that my work is done, and it is now time to make sense of it all.

The Rest is Easy

We work hard, our whole lives, to achieve ‘success’, but in the end, we are set aside by the working world when we reach the milestone of retirement. It’s time to let the younger generation pick up the load and carry it for awhile.

I wasn’t sure I could afford to retire, thinking that as long as my mental functions were healthy, I could just carry on. But I wasn’t counting on how tired of the process I’d become. In truth, I’ve had enough of being under someone else’s thumb. I just want to lay in the sunshine like our dogs do.

Will it be difficult? No, it will be easy.

Turn! Turn! Turn!

So let’s celebrate by singing along with the Byrds.

What’s in a (baby’s) Name?

When a new child is born, the parents have to decide what to name the baby. It is an important function, because in most cases, that name is the one this person will identify with their whole life.

A Rose by any other name…

When I was 10 years old, my mother gave birth to her second daughter. I was given the task (for some reason) of choosing her middle name. I chose Rose.

Why Rose? My second primary school teacher was Japanese. Her name was Rose Tamaki. I liked her name. So my middle sister (as she turned out to be) got landed with that name, because of me. I wonder if she even knows that.

My mother never asked me to help her name my third sister. Turns out, my mother decided to repeat my first sister’s middle name as my third sister’s first name. Had she run out of ideas? I never did ask.

…would smell as sweet

My son was born in 1972. Being from a generation that worshipped our movie stars as idols, I couldn’t help myself. I took John Derek’s last name (Bo Derek’s husband) and made it my son’s first name. Then I gave him my middle name as his middle name.

Again, why? I wanted his initials to spell out DDT. (I have a weird sense of humour.) However, when his mother remarried, years later, his surname changed, too.

My mother said that giving him the name Derek may have been linked to his Germanic heritage. In those days, I had no idea how much of his ancestry was Germanic.

My daughter…

When it came time to name my daughter (from my second marriage), I thought I would honour two of my sisters. From the oldest one, I took her first name, Anne, and added my second sister’s middle name, Rose, combining them into Rosanna.

Since Rosanna was born in 1980, there may be some who think that she was named for the Gilda Radner character, Rosanna Rosannadanna.

http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/b5BKAaZrqgE?rel=0

And in some ways, they may be right (as my weird sense of humour has already shown), but the truth is slightly different.

…Rosanna…

I first heard the following record in the mid-60’s. It stayed with me ever since.

http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/gCeY9l7Q834?rel=0

Beautiful, eh?

I suspect that this record is the real reason I chose this name for her.

…by Toto

However, in 1982, Toto released this song, and this video, which sealed the deal for me.

http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/qmOLtTGvsbM?rel=0

So Rosanna grew up hearing this as my anthem to her.

Hi, Rosanna. I love you, sweet child of mine.

(And one post script: years later when I found that my maternal grandmother’s name was May, I found the unconscious reason for giving Rosanna this as her middle name.)

A Visitation?

It was the one and only time that I had a spiritual vision. My problem was that I didn’t know what it meant at the time. Years later, I came to understand the message that it brought.

The Event

VisitationSpiritualWREJC1

By 1988, I was living in Lower Earley, Berkshire, a small bedroom town near Reading. It was just after New Year’s, which happened on the Friday that year. Memory says it was about 10:00 pm on the Sunday night. I had gone to bed early to get ready for work the next day. But I wasn’t sleepy.

There was a full moon that night, so I shouldn’t have been surprised at what occurred.

Staring off into the middle distance of the room, I was suddenly aware of a figure standing there, with head raised toward the ceiling in supplication, hands crossed at the wrists in front of its waist. It reminded me of an Native American warrior, for some reason. And the figure was not full sized.

To do a reality check, I shifted by eyes to the left slightly, and the figure shifted with their movement. That meant that the image was somehow inside my head, but projected out in front of me, like the laser recording of Princess Leia in Star Wars.

The image then faded into thin air, and I realized that I’d been holding my breath, while this was occurring. The whole sequence couldn’t have lasted more than a few seconds.

Immediate Thoughts

What should I have done differently to engage the image?

Should I have quoted I Samuel 3:10 “Speak; for thy servant heareth”?

If I hadn’t moved my eyes, would it have stayed longer?

As you can imagine, I had a bit of trouble getting to sleep that night.

The Next Day

I contacted everyone I knew who might have had reason to ‘visit’ me that night. Even Kate, who would normally be the one to try something new, said that it wasn’t her. She’s had no burning issue that couldn’t wait until the next time we met.

My Mom wasn’t aware of anything either, so I really was stumped.

I then put the experience to the back of my mind, in case something should reveal itself subsequently.

Resolution?

In 2007, after my ancestry.ca searches, I finally met up with my cousin Doug in London. We talked a great deal about my Dad, as you’d expect. What struck me was how much my Dad enjoyed his nieces and nephews. Doug remarked that he felt there was a sense a sadness about him, because he’d not had any children of his own.

Later that summer, we had the first Miller Family Reunion. Someone (I suspect it was organized by my cousin Liz) had put together a memento box full of papers and photographs. That was when I first learned that my Dad had died in October 1987. It was also when I saw his ‘banker‘ picture which tied in with the Coral Polge session that I attended on the weekend before he was buried.

But then the last piece of the puzzle fell into place: just over two months after his death, my Dad had come to me to beg forgiveness for not being there when I was growing up.

Conclusion

There will be some of you that will doubt the veracity of this story. If I hadn’t been there, I would have doubted it, too. But sometimes, we have to put aside our doubts and just accept whatever we are given in humbleness and gratitude.

My Dad loved me, after all. He had returned for a very brief moment to let me know that he regretted the choices he made when younger. Knowing now what I learned after the fact, I heartily forgive him.

I think we were both healed by the experience.

A Visitation, too?

When my father came for a visit, he assumed an image of a penitent man in my mind’s eye. My mother chose an entirely different way to attend my daughter’s wedding…

First Things First

Painted Lady Butterfly

This will be controversial to some, but I believe the dead can come back to visit the living for brief moments of time, should there be a good reason to do so. My father came back to show me how sorry he was about not being around when I was growing up. My mother didn’t need to do the same, since she was there for me my whole life, until the day she died.

Over the years, I’d heard that female relatives assume the fragile figure of a butterfly to visit with loved ones and family. If they land on one’s arm, it is the equivalent of a gentle touch.

Mom’s First Visitation

Chris and Tigger

In my case, my Mom chose a different way to return: she appeared as a cat.

One day, in the months after my mother’s death in 2003, I happened to look out our bathroom window of the house we owned on Windsor Road, Torquay. A catwas crossing the flat roof of the extension below. I tried to shoo it away, and it started to move toward the edge of the roof, then it stopped, turned and smiled at me. That was a complete surprise!

Then the cat completed the jump from the roof onto the adjoining stone wall in the back garden, and I never saw it again. My first thought was, “That was my Mom coming to say ‘hi’ to me”. But why as a cat?

I then remembered something my Mom used to say to me about her next life: “If I come back, I want to come back as a cat. They have such pampered lives. I’d like to have a life like that.”

My Daughter’s Wedding Uninvited Guest

Inside the Church

In 2012, my youngest child, Rosanna, married her long-time boyfriend and partner, Ross. The venue was a 13th Century church atop Brentor in Devon.

On the day, which was blustery and cold, the church was packed with invited guests. As the wedding party stood at the front, near the altar, a butterfly appeared at the bottom of the stained glass windows. As the marriage ceremony was proceeding, it settled down, opening and closing its wings. After the ceremony, it seemed to disappear again. But most of the participants saw it before it went.

I had to look through a book on butterflies native to the United Kingdom before I could identify it as a Painted Lady. (That may have been an insider joke from my Mom, because her past as a divorcee meant that some parishioners would have painted her as that, had they known.)

Conclusion

Brentor Church

As my daughter was the very first of Mom’s grandchildren to get married, I suspect she didn’t want to miss it.

But instead of being a fly on the wall, she decided to be a butterfly on the stained glass.

We all still miss you greatly, Mom, but we are also very grateful for your fleeting attendance at my daughter’s wedding. Love you.

Unlock Your Psychic Abilities

Most of us are psychic: knowing who is calling you on the phone before you pick it up physically; having hunches about friends and family; placing bets. But how much do we chalk up to coincidence?

School Locker Combination

Combination Lock

I have always loved numbers. It’s almost as if they speak to me. When I learn a combination, I have an easy time remembering the sequence. Even now, I can remember my school locker combination: 24-55-15.

However, early on in my life, I realized that I could also read other peoples’ minds when it came to numbers. Here’s an example: my sister Elizabeth had just come home from her high school. When I saw that she had a combination lock, I told her that I could unlock it, but with her help. As an experiment, I asked her to picture in her mind the digits of the combination in sequence. As I concentrated on her first number, I could see it, but it was ‘off the scale’. I asked her, “Are you drawing it large?” She said, “Yes.” I told her to picture them a lot smaller. I then starting turning the dial. Without hesitation, I opened it the first time. She said, “How can you do that?” I said, “As soon as you think the number, it appears in my mind.”

Bike Lock Combination

Bike Lock

Years later, when I worked at the North Shore Credit Union In North Vancouver, I had a co-worker named Erika Pobog. One day, we were on our way up Lonsdale Boulevard, and we got to talking about my gift with numbers.

She challenged me to guess what her bike combination was. She said that it was a four digit combination in descending order. My immediate response was, “5-4-3-2”. I thought she was going to faint, when I said that. She confirmed that I got it right. I wasn’t surprised.

Windermere Fire

Windermere House

I have previously written about the first time that I knew I was psychic. It was the evening that I heard “Skippy” Woods calling to his grandmother. I couldn’t hear the words, but something about his excited tone informed me that there was a fire somewhere in the village. Then the siren attached to the fire hall next door went off!

Fire in a small village with only a volunteer firefighting crew is a truly frightening event. In fact, if a fire breaks out, the most likely result will be the total destruction of the building. Take for example the fire that destroyed the Windermere House in 1996:

“The Windermere House is a historic hotel and resort located in Windermere, Ontario in the Muskoka region. It is known as The Lady of the Lakes. It was built in 1870 in Victorian style, originally as a boarding house, and overlooks Lake Rosseau.

“The then-127-year-old Windermere House burned to the ground during the filming of The Long Kiss Goodnight in February 1996. Some suspect that the production equipment lights were to blame for the fire, others say it was a short-circuit, but neither explanation was proven and it remains unsolved to this day. The Windermere House was rebuilt and restored to its original glory in spring 1997.” (Wikipedia)

Having lived next door to the Windermere House during my childhood makes this a very significant event in my life.

Silver Birch to Win

I also write previously about how I chose the winner of the 2007 Grand National. (See How I Chose the Winner of the Grand National in 2007.) The important point I want to make is the need for an unwavering belief that you can do such a thing.

In my mind, I ‘knew’ that the result of the Grand National was already known. What I was trying to achieve was a way to tap into that knowledge. From my training in psychic healing, I have a sensitivity to energy in my hands. In particular, my right forefinger. It almost acts like a laser beam. When the energy from that finger hits resistance, it feels like a jolt of electricity. In this case, it turned out to be a little ‘ping’. I guess that’s the equivalent of the ‘still, small voice.’

Matthew Manning Exercise

Steam Train

I believe it was in 1986 that Matthew Manning came to Winkfield, Berkshire for a seminar (as Matthew was good enough to remind me recently). I attended it with a friend of mine. After his usual preamble about how he came to the attention of the world, and what his intentions were re: healing, he asked us to all take part in a little experiment.

In an envelope, he had placed a picture that he was going to concentrate on. We were to take a piece of paper and a pencil and attempt to draw whatever image came into our heads. (The picture I’ve used as the illustration is not the original one that he had.)

After a few moments, I started to sketch a few lines but I honestly could not make out what it was that I was trying to draw. When the image was then revealed, I was shocked to find that I had managed to get the contour of the land, and the rail tracks, but not much else. Even so, that would be considered a ‘hit’ in psychic terms.

Conclusion

I think the only advice I could give you about being psychic is to practice, practice, practice.

I should also ask you to believe in yourself. Most times our doubts get in the way and prevent us from making progress (in most things in life).

I should also like to point out that anything that I have been able to accomplish in my life is not beyond the abilities of most people.

But you have to try before you can succeed. Baby steps…
