It took slightly more than 30 years to come to fruition. Camilla Shand took the long way round to become Charles’ wife. And it shouldn’t come as a surprise that what took place between them was frowned upon by the Royal Family, but they also turned a blind eye.

I’d noted this chart configuration previously. I suppose the Moon/Venus conjunction at 10 degrees Cancer gives her a special nurturing nature that Charles found appealing. The T-squares formed with Neptune and the Midheaven to these planets would have made it inevitable that she would be someone’s mistress. The trines from the Midheaven to Saturn/Pluto in her Leo 1st House hints at that someone being a royal, especially as that conjunction is square to Jupiter in Scorpio.
Her maternal great-grandmother, Alice Keppel, was a mistress of King Edward VII from 1898 to 1910

I suppose it runs in the family.

Honestly, I can see how this emotional triangle came about. Camilla had already married Andrew Parker Bowles and was out of the running to be Charles’ wife by the time he met Diana. Diana was considered the better royal consort because she was young, virginal, and beautiful. Good breeding stock, one might say.
But Charles was still in love with Camilla, so from the get-go this was going to be tricky.

That T-square setup in Camilla’s birth chart now takes on a very strong echo when combined with Diana and Charles’ wedding chart. And the inconjuncts from Camilla’s Sun and Mercury (in her 12th House) linking to the ‘wedding’ Neptune at 22 degrees Sagittarius (Diana’s Ascendant is within 4 degrees) means that Camilla was party to a deception of a major proportion. The other inconjunct links Camilla’s Uranus in Gemini to the ‘wedding’ Uranus in Scorpio. Camilla may have been in two minds about it, but she couldn’t fight the rising tide of needing to keep her feelings secret.

They say what goes around, comes around again. (The whole idea of astrology is based on this concept). I was originally going to show you Camilla and Charles’ wedding chart on its own, but decided to share how this wedding affected Camilla instead.
There is no doubt that these events are timed by the Universe, and not by humans. Camilla and Charles’ wedding was delayed by one day, due to Charles having to attend Pope John Paul II’s funeral in Rome. Nevertheless, the energies for the day were ‘right’ for their civil wedding.
The ‘wedding’ Ascendant at 17 degrees Cancer is conjunct Saturn, and both are linked to Camilla’s Sun/Mercury/Part of Fortune conjunction. In fact, the ‘wedding’ Part of Fortune is almost exactly conjunct Camilla’s Sun. And notice how Camilla’s Pluto in her 1st House is now opposite the ‘wedding’ Mars/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius. This is the culmination of ‘coming out’ in the public sphere as Charles’ mistress after her divorce in 1995. The royal secret was a secret no more (and, had never been).
The ‘wedding’ Sun/Moon conjunction also involves the Venus/North Node conjunction in Aries. Talk about taking the ram by the horns, eh?
So, not quite the fairy tale ending, but, in this day and age, totally realistic. Thank you Netflix for helping us to understand the people behind the headlines.

“The Crown” shows this man as the reason the Sunday Times had a story about how Queen Elizabeth II felt about her Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. We may never know what actually transpired, but it lit up the tabloid newspapers in July of 1986.
But what about the man at the centre of this ‘scandal’?

I have rectified his birth chart to show the age (48) when Michael Shea, instead of just telling the story to the press, became the story himself. And it is quite telling that he stepped down in 1987, one year later. He wasn’t ‘fired’.
The three Yods (interlinked by the common planet, Jupiter) speak of a man who was destined to have to choose between service to the Crown (Jupiter inconjunct to Moon and Pluto), telling the truth (Pluto inconjunct Jupiter and Ascendant) and obeying his Queen (Moon inconjunct Mercury and Jupiter). And just for extra effect, he has another inconjunct linking Mars and Midheaven. He was never going to be able to do his job without someone getting hurt.
Luckily for him, he also liked to write books, so even after he left Buckingham Palace, he was able to support himself and his family.

They say that you must never look back. But Netflix has brought this event into clear focus again in “The Crown”.
In the show, Charles has flash-backs of the accident and describes how empty and pointless his life and his marriage has been to that point in time. He probably thought he was going to die. That can help you focus on the important things in your life. It obviously did for Diana, too, since she wanted to make a go of their marriage.
Charles just wanted Camilla.

The difficulty with this aspect is to find a balance between getting what you want in life and getting along with others. More than most people, you will have to learn the necessity of compromising to get along with people, especially because you often seem more aggressive than you are. While you are young, the need to compromise may be frustrating, because youth is a time when your own needs seem especially urgent and demanding. At times you may feel that nothing is going your way, that you continually have to give in to others and put your own wishes aside. However, it is not really this bad. You do not actually have to compromise any more than anyone else, but you are more reluctant to do so.
This aspect can be a sign that you feel you must give way to others in order to get along with them. This can take two forms, both of which will be difficult to handle while you are young. The less positive form is simply yielding to all outside pressure and always give in to others’ desires. This will produce unconscious feelings of resentment that you can’t express, but that make your relationships with others rather difficult. And as you get older, if you do not learn to stand yo for your rights, this problem will get worse, because you express your unconscious resentment as a martyred attitude, which makes it impossible for others to appreciate or use anything they get from you. Thus the results of your sacrifice are totally negative, because you are not happy with giving and they are not happy with receiving.
The main problem with this aspect is that you tend to get discouraged. You do not have as much energy as other people, usually not because you are physically weak but because you are too easily discouraged by opposition from persons or circumstances. You are not a very aggressive person. It is not that you are especially shy or reluctant to assert yourself, but you feel sure that in a direct confrontation with someone, you will lose. More than most people, you need abundant support and encouragement from your parents. If they are excessively critical or unsupportive, it will have a very negative effect on you.
The danger is that if this tendency to be discouraged is not checked, you may develop a defeatist attitude toward life. Or what is worse, you may assert yourself in underhanded ways so that no one can see what you are doing and try to stop you.
Do these not seem to be describing Charles? It is almost as if he summoned the avalanche to sweep his old life away. Remember, there are no ‘accidents’.

In the ‘event’ chart, Pluto is just beginning to be in opposition to Venus, in a T-square with Leo Rising. You might recall that Charles’ birth chart has Leo Rising, as well. The other link-ups are visible, too. And it is valuable to remember that Pluto is in Charles’ 1st House in his natal chart. It’s the point of his existence: to change the rules. The avalanche’s Pluto is inconjunct to Charles’ Midheaven, his future career.
Mission accomplished, I would say.

It was totally unexpected: my dream, last night, was ticking along quite beautifully until we turned a corner in a shopping complex and joined a line up to pay for our food purchases. Then it got claustrophobic.
The door to the cashiers was closed to restrict traffic at the tills, and the line up behind us began to get congested. The man behind us was so close that I could feel him breathing down my neck, literally.
Then I realized that we’d forgotten our face masks. That’s when the dream became a nightmare.
As we all have been living this nightmare for eight months now, you’d think we’d be used to it by now. And what my dream showed me was the fact that it still isn’t “normal” by any understanding of that word.
But, to be honest, this is the first time I’ve dreamed about the pandemic, so that’s ‘interesting’.
Social distancing is creating barriers to intimacy. There, I’ve said it, now. (And, just to demonstrate how invidious this pandemic is, I had to take a full minute before I could remember what the word ‘intimacy’ was.)
Like everyone else, I’m feeling coronavirus fatigue.

I lived through half of the Thatcher years in the late 1980’s. This was one polarizing individual. Her downfall was the Community Charge (aka “poll tax”) in 1990.

This time of birth is considered ‘excellent’. If it hadn’t been for Saturn sitting on her Scorpio Rising, I might have tried to rectify her birth chart. That strength (from her father) is what carried her through the dozen years that she was Prime Minister of Britain.
So, there are three inconjuncts, forming a double Yod with Uranus as the focal point:
There is a side of your personality that is very restless and impatient with rules, even when you know they are for your own good. You want very much to go your own way and do your own thing, even when you aren’t entirely sure that it is the right direction for you. So you rebel in subtle ways by having sudden fits of obstinacy and moods of feeling very contrary, especially to your parents or other authority figures.
Sometimes the energy of this aspect comes out in other ways as well. At times sudden upsets may occur in your life that totally alter your plans, so that you have to change course entirely. When this happens, you must learn to yield to the pressure and flow with the change.
Your mind moves quickly from topic to topic, often without pausing long enough for you to understand what you have learned. And if there is a lot of excitement or activity around you, your mind may race so fast to keep up with it all that you work yourself into a state of nervous frenzy. Under these circumstances it is almost impossible for you to concentrate or do any useful mental work.
This aspect might mean that you have nervous problems, such as a tendency to get exhausted or a sensitive disposition that requires a very calm environment in order to prevent further problems.
This aspect indicates a generation that had mixed feelings about its ideals and how to implement them. They often felt confused about their ideals, and when they found that their ideals failed because they were badly formulated, this group became disillusioned. States of consciousness beyond the ordinary are very confusing to them, and they prefer not to get involved with such matters.

Goodness me: the Ascendant of the ‘death’ chart is almost conjunct the 9th House cusp. That is extraordinarily interesting, since it shows that her death was “correctly” timed, almost down to the minute. And the resulting Yods between the two charts show that everything she set out to accomplish had been done, even though it didn’t appear so to anyone else, when she stepped down in 1990.

But mere words were not what the people of Britain wanted…

No, I do not have perfect memory. But I do have this little book to help me recall the timing of specific events. I must have known that 1987 would be a significant year.

When I did my day trip to Edmonton, I had intended to contact my son, Derek, if possible. He and his mom had moved there with his new adopted father. I went into the West Edmonton Mall when I first arrived by bus. At the entrance was a bank of pay phones (remember them?) and three sets of telephone directories. I walked up to the closest one and saw that it was already open, on the very page I wanted! I rang the number but no one was home. (And I don’t remember if there was an answerphone for me to leave a message.) At any rate, the Universe knew I was coming.
Bless.

You might think it a bit of a cheek for this individual to break into Buckingham Palace and visit Queen Elizabeth II first thing in the morning, just to have a ‘chat’. But he’d come to the ‘end of his tether’ and wanted to warn the Queen that her Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, was ruining the country. Perfectly reasonable, right?
Well, it was no laughing matter when it happened on July 9, 1982, and Fagan got locked up in a mental institution for three months for his intrusion (as it was only a civil misdemeanor, and not a criminal offence, in those days). But what made him do it?

I have rectified Fagan’s birth chart to the two details that stand out in his biography: leaving home at 18, due to his father’s violence, and meeting the Queen, at (almost) 34.
The resulting inconjuncts are therefore subject to the accuracy of this rectification.
Your relationships with other people can be very intense. While you are young, they may be quite difficult, because you feel that others will accept you only if you deny yourself in some way. Or you may constantly feel you should put off doing what you want in order t do what you have to do. Usually your ideas about what you have to do come from the people around you. Also, contacts with other people will frequently force you to make serious, major psychological changes. Difficulties in your relationships with friends and family are signs of profound internal changes.
One interesting exchange between Fagan and his Member of Parliament had the MP suggest that if he gets nowhere with his complaint, he should talk to the Queen!
This can be an indication that through experiences with others, you will be forced to undergo many significant changes in your life. At times the crises may be quite unpleasant, but for the most part the results will be very positive, although for some people, they may be less constructive. But you must be very careful about the kind of people you get involved with. Choose your friends with great care and try to find the people who have a healthy outlook on life and who seem reasonably well balanced. People who are driven to extreme behavior or who act compulsively, as if they could not plan anything in advance, are not very good for you. They will get you into difficult situations that you do not need.
Also watch for compulsiveness or extreme behavior yourself. These qualities could be quite hard for others to handle, and people will probably avoid you if you express them freely.

When you compare Fagan’s birth chart with the event chart of his intrusion, it becomes quite clear that the triggering energy was the Moon in Aquarius, opposed to his ‘natal’ Sun/Mercury/Saturn/Pluto stellium in Leo. Note, too, that the 7 am Rising Sign is just before those planets were transited. Other planets also align closely, including the ‘event’ Mars/Saturn conjunct his ‘natal’ Mars. He had to act, he had no choice.
In the Netflix version of his life, Fagan objected to three billion pounds being spent of a phony war (to recapture the Falkland Islands from the Argentinians). After Thatcher’s austerity actions, that seemed one step too far, for him and his fellow suffering Brits.
And Fagan’s final warning to the Queen was that Thatcher was out to get her job.

The ‘event’ Ascendant approaching conjunction with the ‘Queen’s’ Moon in Leo would represent her worst nightmare coming true. Fortunately, Fagan meant Her Majesty absolutely no harm (the ‘event’ Mars/Saturn inconjunct her Venus in Pisces). She was never in peril, but at that moment, she would have been a bit nervous for her safety.
And, in some ways, this was the beginning of a ‘wake up’ call: Sun transit Pluto; and Moon transit Mars/Jupiter. Queen Elizabeth II had been on the throne for 30 years…
