On My Christmas Wish List

Stella Artois (launched for Christmas 1926)

This beer has been around for almost one hundred years. I’ve been drinking it since the mid-1990’s. Of course, the version that I know has slightly less alcoholic content than the Belgium version. And in the UK, it has a terrible reputation for causing violent tendencies, especially in their hooligan young men.

So, is the hype justified? Since Stella Artois was launched in 1926 as a Christmas (star) beer, I figured that I could do a chart dated December 1st at noon, to capture its cosmic energies. There are three inconjuncts, only two of which can be ‘relied upon’ and which form a Yod, pointing at Uranus, bearing in mind that the date and the time are speculative, to the nth degree.

Moon Inconjunct Uranus (perhaps)

With this aspect you must learn to control sudden outbursts of emotion that occur at difficult times when you least expect it. Also your present home life may not be a stable situation in which you can grow up emotionally secure and confident.

Planets in Youth (page 130) by Robert Hand (1977)

Uranus Inconjunct Neptune (for sure)

This aspect indicates a generation that had mixed feelings about its ideals and how to implement them. States of conscious beyond the ordinary are very confusing to them, and they prefer not to get involved with such matters.

Ibid (page 318)

Pluto Inconjunct Midheaven (maybe)

You may have trouble with older people who try to teach you how to effectively take control of your life. To a great extent, your path in life will be shaped by your early confrontations with authority figures.

Ibid (page 357)

I know this sounds weird, but these aspects indicate a reluctance to grow up, and an active refusal to do so. That means that the beer born in this time frame definitely influences the younger drinkers who just want to have fun. I guess that’s why it doesn’t quite have the same effect on me, since I was over 45 when I started drinking it.

Cheers.

A New TV Show with a Promise in Its Name

High Potential (2024)

Quirky, intelligent, fun: and that describes the main character, Morgan.

The show centers on Morgan, a single mother with three kids who is a cleaning lady for the Los Angeles Police Department. She is also a high potential intellectual, with an IQ of 160. After figuring out a case using her unconventional mind, she becomes a consultant for the LAPD’s Major Crimes division.

My suggestion is that you watch a couple of episodes before jumping to any conclusion about it.

In my humble opinion it has High Potential.

A Short Resume of Past Lives as a “Hired Gun”

Rebirth (Circa 10 AD – Present)

While doing research into reincarnation, I came to the strange conclusion that I have lived many times before. Why is that strange? Because some of those lives overlapped and some were living jointly with others. So, to say that reincarnation in astrology is not a hard and fast science is an understatement.

Tiberius Julius Alexander Jr.

I’m starting here because his birth (entirely) unknown is in the Common Era. It is represented by Saturn in my birth chart, so that tells me his life was somehow connected with the Roman Empire. His death is also unknown, so that limits me as far as ‘proving’ this life as one of my past lives. However, a significant event, the Siege of Jerusalem is knowable, so that helped me look at that time period and my present life. As TJA was an Equestrian, his life was the beginning of my knight-errant history.

Count Roland

Being one of Charlemagne’s Paladins seems a bit exulted, but there’s no denying that I was alive during that time period. Paladin: Have Gun – Will Travel as a TV show in my childhood may have been my first clue. Most knights were the equivalent of hired guns. This life is represented by my Libra South Node conjunct Mars.

William Marshal, 1st Earl of Pembroke

This lifetime became known to me earlier this year. It explains my ‘affinity’ with Henry II and my awareness that I was a Templar Knight in that time period, even if only for one day. This is represented in my chart as Neptune. However, the timing is off by about 300 years, so it might also be represented by my natal Moon in Scorpio.

Henry VII

Now we’re getting into the speculative realm of the Tudors. There are no planets that correspond to this time frame, but my experience is broader, and represents how my life today intersects with many members of my family from the past.

Pierre Esprit Radisson

Because this individual is so close to my heart when it comes to a Canadian backstory, I tend to regard him as the ‘real’ me from the past. My Ascendant is represented as his coming of age (also matching his natal Ascendant) in 1652. I also experienced his life in a hypnotic regression in 1982. 330 years is nothing to scoff at. There is further symbolism there.

John Frederick Parker

This life represents a major ‘failing’ from the past. Stepping away during the intermission to have a drink on the night that Abraham Lincoln was shot, while acting as his personal bodyguard, created a major shift in my karma. The key to the timing of 1855 is Venus in Aquarius, which I shared with my astrology partner Kate (hers is Mars in Aquarius.) I have speculated that my son and grandson were connected to Lincoln and his son. That makes the guilt extra powerful.

Richard Sorge (“Ramsay”)

This may be the life of the person I shared with my friend David. (In reality, I may be grasping at straws.) Ramsay’s birth year is symbolized by the position of my natal Sun in Aquarius. The ‘spy’ energy is one that I recognize as applicable to me in the present time, but I cannot be too sure, since my ‘gun-for-hire’ persona didn’t survive even 50 years. But it does bring to an end my work in the field, as it were.

Conclusion

If I were a betting man, and I’m not, I would suggest that I’ve had a lot of lives that has interfered with others. My punishment, now, is the ‘lone wolf’ life that I live now. Hopefully, this is penance for my past. What do you think?

How Four Seasons of a Tree Help Explain Reincarnation

Especially in the Northern Hemisphere, we are blessed by the fact that there are four distinct seasons, visually. Spring: the darling buds of May; Summer, the lazy days of play in the sunshine; Autumn, the leaves turn colour and then die; and Winter, all life goes still again.

Human life is similar. We’re born, live, grow old and die, all within the seasons of our lives. Then we are born again, reincarnated into a new life, after resting for a time in the spiritual realms. The Bible calls it resurrection into a new world. But, in reality, it’s just the same old world seen with new eyes..

Enough said, for now.

And Yet Another Network TV Series Filmed in BC

Murder in a Small Town (2024)

I have to admit, the scenery looked familiar. But it wasn’t until I saw the sign “Molly’s Reach” that I realized this series is filmed in Gibsons, the site of another perennial show, “The Beachcombers”.

The Beachcombers (1972)

I wonder what Bruno Gerussi would think of this.

It Took Me an Extra Day to Track This Idiom Down:

“Out of Whole Cloth”

At 4:30 yesterday morning, I got a saying stuck in my head, that wouldn’t go away. By the time I got up (8:00 am), it had morphed into “whole sailcloth”. That sounds a lot like ‘wholesale cloth’ which is why Google wasn’t much help in tracking it down. (I had originally heard the phrase in the BBC program “Escape to the Country” and it seemed to suggest that it was something ‘wholly new or unexpected’.)

On a YouTube video, aired today of an MSNBC program last night, the phrase was used to explain Trump’s lies. A-ha, says I: that was the reason for my early morning suggestion from spirit. I was intending to use it as the lead into my post from yesterday.

There, mystery solved.

When You Agree to a Debate that Won’t Be Fact-checked

It’s Your Word Against His

The VP debate, one week ago, had a moment when the CBS moderators chose to do what they initially pledged not to do: fact-check either candidate. J.D. Vance took exception when they called him out on the Haitian immigrant lie that they were ‘illegal’. That’s how politicians hope to get away with viewpoints that aren’t entirely truthful. Supposedly, the other candidate is meant to do the fact-checking, instead.

Let’s face it: in the middle of a debate, who has time to constantly argue against the other person’s words? Trump in his debate with Kamala Harris was later accused of lying 30 times!

It’s so insidious: lies have a way of catching the perpetrator out, in the end, but the damage has already been done. Springfield, Ohio, will never be the same again.

Sure they are.

In My Dream, Last Night, I Told My Sisters I Was,,,

Dropping Out of School

It’s a strange thing to occur in a dream, for sure. After all, I graduated high school 55 years ago. But a recurring dream after high school was that I went back to do grade 13 over, in order to improve my marks. It’s a metaphor for lifelong learning, especially of spiritual matters.

So why am I dropping out? Consciously, I am aware that having a spiritual ‘routine’ has become very stale. I need to just let go and let God.

My ‘goody-two-shoes’ attitude no longer works. I just want to be the authentic me. And my dreams are telling me that I need to stop being unreal. Now I’m pushing forward without pretence.

That’s a lesson that has taken me a lifetime to learn.
