When The King Met “Thumper”

Ann-Margret Meets Elvis (July 9, 1963)

Still from “Bambi”

Her nickname was “Thumper” which is a hint at the juvenile relationship between Elvis and Ann-Margret. Their first meeting was on-set, but most sources are vague when it comes to the date and time: early July, 1963. Only one source states the date as July 9th at the recording studio, so that is the date I’m using here, and I’ve set the clock for noon.

This is no ordinary day. There is a double Yod (Finger of God) pointing at Mars in the 12th House. The Moon and Saturn are one side and Jupiter is on the other.

Moon Inconjunct Mars

Your relationship with your mother is especially important. If you and she don’t get along in some important way, you will have similar problems with other women when you get older. If you are a girl, you may prefer the company of boys now and men later. If you are a boy, you may have serious problems getting along with women when you are older. In either case, you are likely to be very aggressive and unpleasant when you are emotionally upset.

Mars Inconjunct Jupiter

With this aspect you probably are quite active, with abundant energy for anything you want to do. But you must learn how to control your energies rather than have them control you. You may be inclined to take excessive risks, to try out things that you are not quite sure you can do. But be careful, because with this aspect the energies of Mars and Jupiter do not work very smoothly together. If you overextend yourself and try to do more than you are physically capable of, you may have an accident. Also you may be clumsy when you take up a new activity until you learn to control your physical body better.

You have a great need for personal freedom also. But while you are young, you may not be very responsible about the way you use your freedom. You may take too many liberties or even interfere with other people’s freedom. Here again the problem is rashness and lack of self-control.

Mars Inconjunct Saturn

This can be a difficult aspect because it signifies a conflict between your sense of responsibility and your desire to fulfill your own needs and do what you want. This leads to a struggle within you that may keep you from acting decisively. Instead of deciding what you will do, you feel caught between these two forces, wondering whether you have the right to do what you want. You may feel that others are trying to frustrate you, but it is only your own indecisiveness that is causing the trouble. Sometimes this conflict makes you very irritable and resentful about nothing in particular. Then, when someone happens to act in a way that is obviously annoying, you focus all your built-up anger on that person.

Moon Conjunct Saturn

This is a very important aspect, and its effects depend heavily on how your parents feel about you. Unless you have a great deal of emotional support from your parents, especially your mother, you will grow up feeling unworthy, doubting your abilities and being unable to live easily with your emotions. Unfortunately, this aspect indicates that you are very sensitive to any coldness from your mother. If you do not have a close rapport with her, or if she is physically absent, as may be the case with this aspect, you should find another person who can take her place in your life.

The Intersection of These Two People and the “Event”

So, is it an accident, or fate? I would suggest fate because of the ‘accidental’ timing of the ‘event’ Ascendant, although that could change as the day wears on. It is conjunct Ann-Margret’s North Node, which we noted previously is also conjunct Ann-Margret’s Neptune and Elvis’ Midheaven. It’s obvious, isn’t it? Elvis needed Ann-Margret, and she needed him.

At any rate, they became ‘twitterpated’.

Elvis’ One and Only True Co-Star

Ann-Margret (April 28, 1941)

Actress Ann-Margret and actor and singer Elvis Presley in the film ‘Viva Las Vegas’, 1964. (Photo by Silver Screen Collection/Getty Images)

They said to each other at the same time, when they were first introduced, “I’ve heard a lot about you.” Then they laughed. A good beginning of their 14 year friendship, and one year relationship. (As a 13 years old during the making of “Viva Las Vegas” I was oblivious…)

The timing of Ann-Margret’s birth was collected from her husband, Roger Smith’s ex-wife, so it should be very accurate. But what an interesting planetary setup. All but two of her natal planets are in that very large 12th House. And the only inconjunct involves the Ascendant and the Midheaven, for which there is no text to describe the relationship. (Ordinarily, the 10th House cusp is within 90° of the Ascendant, but Ann-Margret was born in Sweden, not North America.) What I find curious is the ‘driver’ of the locomotive is Mars, which is why she could stand her ground with the actors of her day, as evidenced by this sequence from the film.

So What Brought Them Together?

I can see a clear handful of connections: the most obvious, to me, is Elvis’ South Node being conjunct to Ann-Margret’s Pluto @ 2° Leo. This relates to a time is history (2818 BC) when Sumer was prominent. Could he have been The King, then, and she was a temptress? Hmm.

Also obvious is the opposition between their two Ascendants. Opposites do attract, you know. Ann-Margret has admitted that before she met Elvis, she recognized herself in him. Mirror image, perhaps?

“We experienced music in the same visceral way. Music ignited a fiery pent-up passion inside Elvis and inside me. It was an odd, embarrassing, funny, inspiring, and wonderful sensation. We looked at each other move and saw virtual mirror images. When Elvis thrust his pelvis, mine slammed forward too. When his shoulder dropped, I was down there with him. When he whirled, I was already on my heel.” (Ann-Margret)

Elvis History Blog

Ann-Margret’s Neptune is conjunct Elvis’ Midheaven in Virgo. Elvis always appeared to be a show business virgin, and his relationship with her went against his own professional standards at the time. And during this time period, he was engaged to Priscilla, another no-no in his books. Colonel Parker persuaded Elvis to marry Priscilla in spite of his misgivings. Having her North Node conjunct his Midheaven didn’t do Ann-Margret’s career any harm, either, did it?

Finally, Elvis’ Uranus is conjunct Ann-Margret’s Mercury @ 28° Aries. He would have been ‘excited’ by the way her mind worked. In other words, she was stimulating on a mental level.

But were they “soul mates”? Who can tell?

Can you?

And Now to Address the Elephant in the Room:

Elvis Presley and Adam Lambert

Ever since Adam Lambert showed up on American Idol, all those years ago, I’ve had this sneaking suspicion that he was Elvis Presley’s reincarnation. The timing of his birth (1982) four-and-a-half years after Elvis’ death in 1977 makes it probable. The look is similar, is it not?

As always, the signs are subjective: if you look for them, they’ll be there. But I have waited until I felt I had this karmic astrology thing under control, at least in my own mind. I will not delineate the aspects for you: if you have an interest in such things, you will make up your own mind, anyway.

Other people would agree…

We Set a Trap for a Rat and Caught…

A Field Mouse

But he wasn’t dead when I went to inspect the rat trap, this morning. His back half was under the snap bar, and he was struggling to get loose. I felt awful for him. To put him out of his misery, I drowned him in a pail of water. Now I’m a murderer!

What makes this worse is the fact that we have befriended a couple of other ‘rodents’: Polly, the black squirrel; and Cheeky, the red squirrel. And we have a couple of chipmunks that we consider cute, too. But the idea of a rat in our garden was disconcerting. He doesn’t ‘belong’ here.

Which brings me to the point of this post: humans don’t ‘belong’ in Heaven, so when someone like Enoch gets promoted to the post of the ‘young’ YHWH, and is given the name Metatron, the angels objected. “This man was born of a woman, and is unclean,” they said. Ah, so…

Hierarchies are everywhere, including a heaven where the denizens are like us ordinary folk. They don’t want ‘outsiders’ fouling their cozy environment: in other words, like all [blankety blank] supremacists. We humans have made the angels into our own image.

Talk About Timing: The Comeback Special

Singer Presents…Elvis (December 3, 1968)

I’ve been watching the two part Netflix show Elvis Presley: The Searcher. Part I: his life before his induction into the Army and, Part II: his life after. There couldn’t be a more stark difference.

By 1968, he was fed up with the movies and wanted to get back to stage shows. Elvis (1968) is the pivotal point when he got back on track, but then went off the rails within 9 years.

There are two inconjuncts, both of them auspicious.

Jupiter Inconjunct Midheaven

This aspect can mean that you have mixed feelings toward adults and persons in authority over you. Although you know that they have your best interests at heart and that they want you to succeed at your own objectives, it often seems as if their demands are keeping you from doing what you want. When you want to go off and have fun, for example, you are told to finish your work first. At times you want to break free of this restricting influence and go off by yourself.

The problem with this aspect is to find a balance between, on the one hand, expressing yourself creatively, perhaps, artistically, and having a good time and, on the other hand, getting ahead in life, learning the ways of the world and finding an acceptable role in society. You know you will have to make sacrifices in order to accomplish anything of value.

Later in life, you will enter a critical period when your need for personal satisfaction and freedom force you to change jobs or even careers. When you have learned more about the world, you will understand how to make changes intelligently, but now you should discipline your Jupiterian drive for freedom and learn what you need to know to take over your own destiny. You should learn as much as possible about any subject or skill that will make you more aware of the larger world. Travel or foreign study would be beneficial, if that is possible. The more you know about how you fit into the larger scheme of life, the easier it will be to make the right decision when you have to change to a more rewarding and personally satisfying course.

Uranus Inconjunct Midheaven

You need to express your thoughts and feelings, but you often upset the people around you with your words. You seem to enjoy creating a stir every time you say something, but this can get you into quite a bit of trouble with parents, teachers and other authority figures. The underlying principle of this aspect is the need to balance your individual self-expression and manner of communicating with your need to learn and grow under the guidance of older people.

When you feel rebellious and unwilling to accept anything you are told, you should be allowed, within reason, to have the experience that will help you understand your elders’ point of view. If you are lucky enough to have parents who let you do this, you will eventually get over your childhood resentment of being told what to do. Although you may not always agree with what they tell you, at least you will consider the merits of their ideas.

On the other hand, if your movements are restricted and you have few opportunities to experience yourself directly, you will become more resentful of authority and finally disregard whatever you are told, regardless of merit. Later in life this attitude could make it extremely hard for you to hold down a job, because you will respond to bosses in the same way that you respond now to your parents and other grown-ups.

Certainly you will discover your own routes to what you want in life. Now you need to be given the confidence and encouragement to look for these routes on your own with total freedom.

Now I want you to see how (and why) Elvis regained his mojo:

Inspired, or what? The ‘event’ Sun is almost exactly conjunct Elvis’ Ascendant @ 12° Sagittarius. The ‘event’ Mars and Elvis’ natal Mars are about 2° conjunct in Libra. And the ‘event’ Venus is conjunct Elvis’ natal Mercury @ 23° Capricorn, which also triggers his natal Sun and Part of Fortune. Finally, the ‘event’ Midheaven is conjunct Elvis’ natal Uranus in the last degrees of Aries. Could chance alone have determined this fortuitous happening? I think not.

For the show’s closer, Binder decided to replace the spoken statement with a song. He instructed Goldenberg and lyricist Walter Earl Brown to write a song that reflected Presley and his beliefs. Brown wrote “If I Can Dream” the same night. Binder sent it to Parker, who still thought the show closer was “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”. After Parker’s negative response to the song, Binder bypassed him, and played the song for Presley. After hearing it three times, Presley was convinced to record it. Seeing Presley’s determination, Parker demanded 100 percent of the publishing rights. Goldenberg removed his name from the publishing sheet, and told Parker that Brown wrote the song. For this number, Presley wore a three-piece white suit designed by Belew. A large sign in red letters that read ELVIS was placed on the black background, while Presley performed the song with a hand-held microphone. After finishing the song, Presley closed the special by saying “Thank you, Good night.”

Are We O-Bligh-ed to Look at These Two?

William Bligh (September 9, 1754 – December 7, 1817)

Courtesy of Wikipedia

Normally, I relish the chance to explore relationships between ‘enemies’ but the relationship between William Bligh and Fletcher Christian is quite nuanced, and therefore difficult to read.

The timing of this chart was already set in my computer program, so I haven’t changed it. Neptune in Leo is in Bligh’s 1st House (of Personality) and it is inconjunct with Uranus in Pisces, on his 9th House cusp. At the same time, Mercury (in Leo, 2nd House of Possessions) is inconjunct the Midheaven in Aries. I suppose that is what gave Bligh his sarcastic nature and biting tongue. At any rate, the combination of these two inconjuncts would cause a rebellion.

Mercury Inconjunct Midheaven

It is very important that you develop your mind and your powers of thought, so that you can use them to attain whatever objectives you set for yourself. However, before you can accomplish this, you may have to solve certain problems. You may feel that there is a tension between your natural spontaneous views and what is taught by your parents and other adults. Even though their teachings seem perfectly reasonable, you want to accept your own ideas as valid if they contradict what you have been taught. Yet you cannot simply suppress your own ways of thinking. If you try, you will create tension and probably create a gap between what you are trying to do and what you say. When you are older you may express this tension by making indiscreet remarks that totally get in the way of your objectives.

Uranus Inconjunct Neptune

This aspect indicates a generation that had mixed feelings about its ideals and how to implement them. They often felt very confused about their ideals and when they found that their ideals failed because they were badly formulated, this group became disillusioned. States of consciousness beyond the ordinary are very confusing to them, and they prefer not to get involved with such matters.

Fletcher Christian (September 25, 1764 – September 20, 1793?)

There is no portrait or drawing extant of Fletcher Christian that was drawn from life. Bligh described Christian as “5 ft. 9 in. high [175 cm]. blackish or very dark complexion. Hair – Blackish or very dark brown. Make – Strong. A star tatowed [sic] on his left breast, and tatowed [sic] on the backside. His knees stand a little out and he may be called a little bow legged. He is subject to violent perspiration, particularly in his hand, so that he soils anything he handles”

Wikipedia

Interesting details there, in that description of Christian by Bligh. Fletcher Christian was ten years younger than William Bligh, but I think Bligh had a soft spot for him, since he made him his right hand man halfway through the voyage. Hmm.

This chart is rectified after I had originally randomized it. I have set Neptune in Leo (in his 7th House of Open Enemies) at ages 24-25 (when the mutiny happened). That then presents us with one inconjunct only.

Jupiter Inconjunct Midheaven

With this aspect, you may discover that in order to grow and get ahead in life, you will have to put aside your own needs and do whatever the situation or other people require. At times you will go through tremendous and possibly painful creative changes in your life, in which everything that you are is replaced by a new order. Your environment may change radically, or you may lose all your old friends and find a whole set of new ones. During these times you will arrive at new understandings and realizations that make it impossible for your life to continue as before. You must always be open to new ideas and be willing to change your outlook on life.

So, how did Bligh know Christian had a star tattoo on his bottom? Just asking…

I’ve never known a better seaman, but as a man, he’s a snake. He doesn’t punish for discipline. He likes to see men crawl. Sometimes, I’d like to push his poison down his own throat.

Something in the Air? The Age of Rebellion

Mutiny on the Bounty (April 28, 1789)

Courtesy of Wikipedia

“Louis the 16th was the King of France in 1789” (Allan Sherman “You Went the Wrong Way, Old King Louis”). The beginning of the French Revolution happened in the same year.

In the early hours of 28 April 1789, Bounty lay about 30 nautical miles (56 km; 35 mi) south of the island of Tofua. After a largely sleepless night, Christian had decided to act. He understood from his discussions with Young and Stewart which crewmen were his most likely supporters and, after approaching Quintal and Isaac Martin, he learned the names of several more. With the help of these men, Christian rapidly gained control of the upper deck; those who questioned his actions were ordered to keep quiet. At about 05:15, Christian went below, dismissed Hallett (who was sleeping on the chest containing the ship’s muskets), and distributed arms to his followers before making for Bligh’s cabin. Three men took hold of the captain and tied his hands, threatening to kill him if he raised the alarm; Bligh “called as loudly as [he] could in hopes of assistance”. The commotion woke Fryer, who saw, from his cabin opposite, the mutineers frogmarching Bligh away. The mutineers ordered Fryer to “lay down again, and hold my tongue or I was a dead man”

Seizure (Wikipedia)

As this is based on an eyewitness account, there is no reason to doubt the timing. And which planet is pivotal here? Neptune on the Descendant. The Cosmic Crosses are many, and the action was doomed from the start. The inconjunct between Saturn and Neptune is significant.

Saturn Inconjunct Neptune

This aspect is strongest when either of these planets is also conjunct or opposition the Ascendant or Midheaven. It can have a variety of effects, one of which may be difficulty in relating fantasy and imagination on one hand, to reality, duty, obligation and work, on the other. Usually the reality, duty and work aspect of the combination is dominant, at least at first. Your imaginative side tends to be transformed into nervousness, fear and irrational anxieties. The most negative manifestation of this aspect is a feeling that you have to keep a tight lid on yourself and that if you look inside too closely, you will find only emptiness and disintegration. It is difficult for you to realize that this is not the truth about your inner self.

The Simple Life?

The South Pacific has an alluring quality about it, especially if you get to spend a fairly lengthy time with the native population there. But most accounts suggest that this rebellious behaviour was due to a couple of lost coconuts. Bligh thought Christian had stolen them. Fletcher Christian became despondent (Neptune) and decided to escape the confines of the ship and William Bligh (Saturn). It was a recipe for disaster.

Tofua, Tonga

This island looks like an ouroboros (serpent swallowing its tail). Hmm.

Good excuse, eh?

Checking This Pilgrim’s Progress: a Wheat or a Tare*?

The Harvest

David Wilcock is back on track, folks. He’s re-focused on the omnipresent Harvest of souls.

Which means, for me, that the world is right again, and we’re on schedule for our Ascension.

They say one picture is worth a thousand words, so I’m letting this image speak for me. I read yesterday, somewhere, that there is a difference between Densities and Dimensions. Now, I’m going to have to find that quote…

We all live in the 3rd dimension, but our experience of life is actually determined by what our state of consciousness is. The higher it is, the closer we get to our original being. But we never ‘arrive’. Like scaling a mountain top, when we get to the summit, we see in the distance more peaks to climb.

It’s the Journey, Not the Destination

The illustration above seems a bit simplistic, at least to me. So I found this next image:

There, I feel much better.

But now back to the main question: am I a wheat or a tare?

If we return to the alien cross-breeding, which has been going on since the Garden of Eden, most of us don’t know which side we’re on, mainly because we aren’t aware of what the differences are. Everybody appears to be human, although some act like ogres, and that is the clue, folks:

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Matthew 7:15-20 NKJV

The Last Judgement

Most people who hear the term, Last Judgement, feel afraid that they’ll not ‘make the cut’. Even ministers and preacher’s kids have niggling doubts before they pass into the next chapter of their story. It’s human to have doubts: we know how we really are, inside, don’t we?

But who is doing the judging?

We are.

There is no one else sitting in judgement of us, no matter what our Good Books say. We have always been our own harshest critics, so why would that end when we die? Would you let yourself pass to a higher density, or would you make yourself come back to do it all over again? When the Earth moves into a higher density, our fates will be sealed anyway.

I rest my case, m’lord.

*a tare = terra…
