You Resolved to do What!?

Cold Turkey

Yes. Well. Right. You have been abusing your body a little of late. Drinking beer, smoking pot and quite a few cigarettes, too. And it’s hard to get outdoors to go for a run in winter. What’s a person to do?

Cold turkey seems a little extreme, but sometimes that’s the only way to stop all this shit from happening to you.

New Year’s Resolution 2018

Most people fail at quitting ‘unwanted’ habits because one thing (having a drink) always goes with another (smoking). People who always have a coffee and a cig at morning break find it hard to ‘unhook’ the actions. So the only way to succeed is to do something new instead. Like taking a short walk, writing a poem or calling a friend.

But please remember, even John Lennon had trouble going Cold Turkey…

Are You Having a Mid-life Crisis?

b97be2ea77d93e708ad6f6f70e3b22b6

‘Is this all there is?’

Continuing on with the mental wellness theme of the last few days, I’m beginning to wonder if ‘stuff’ happens because your soul is trying to break out from the prison you’ve made of your life.

It’s not much fun to go through. Are you even old enough to experience it?

Mid-Love Crisis

I once wrote a cheeky poem about my mid-life crisis, about the time it was starting in my early 40’s. In truth, it was no laughing matter. It ended up splitting my second family home. But the call of the ‘wild’ is too strong to ignore. Here’s the poem, again:

If I could place my inner thought upon this empty page
Would you read something which is not or something which is sage?

I play with words, like toys, for fun to exercise my mind
But when I’m through, and when they’re done, what is it I will find?

Mid-phrase is not the place to stop, to take a halting breath
For should the world then close up shop, would that mean instant death?

I question all about myself up to the verge of tears
Without a secret dwarf or elf to take away my fears.

I read about the way to win perfection in this life
And wonder why I’m mired in sin while overfilled with strife.

Mid-thought can break the train in half and grind it to a halt
But when I choose instead to laugh, will it be all my fault?

I love with all my heart and soul and mind and spirit, too
So if you’re sure about my goal, you know I’ll be with you.

Conclusion

Spirit has a way of bringing you back to where you’re meant to be, even if it means dragging you kicking and screaming all the way. Our emotional and physical ruts are comforting, because we know what to expect. We don’t like surprises.

Well, surprise, surprise! Your Higher Self has different plans for you.

High-Functioning Anxiety

what-is-high-functioning-anxiety-4140198-1e45132a1b314f2ebb163f71313afb9a

What is it?

January is mental wellness month. I often wonder why certain months become associated with specific things. January is easier to reason out why without stating the obvious.

I come from a family of achievers. The genetics are shared through the ranks.

Or, to be clear, “The Force is strong in this one.”

But what happens when one of us appears to go off the rails?

IMG_9212

When I was growing up, I could definitely be characterized as having some form of anxiety.  Anxiety is fear spread thinly.

I was afraid of a great many things, but I carried on regardless, trying to be the best version of myself that I could be. That made me an over-achiever.

But it didn’t stop the internal doubts.

image-asset

So many a sleepless night made me aware of my ‘problems’.

Then I grew up.

But instead of becoming an over-achiever in my life, I settled for a less stressful lifestyle and expectations. I became an introvert. And that’s the way I’ve remained.

But the DNA settled into my children, and they have the same traits and self-doubt. And there’s nothing I can do to relieve their anxiety but tell them I love them unconditionally.

“There’s nobody wanting anything, nobody needing anything: there’s nothing to do,

but relax.”

Just Because You’re Paranoid…

quote-just-because-you-re-paranoid-doesn-t-mean-they-aren-t-out-to-get-you-woody-allen-87-65-26

Doesn’t Mean They Aren’t Out To Get You.

But it also means that it’s all in your mind. Maybe.

I live in a safe Universe. I’ve said that before on a couple of occasions. Nice for me, perhaps not so nice for you. It’s all a matter of opinion and belief systems.

What if you think that your life is at risk because of some unnamed threat from some unknown enemy? What if things that are happening around you make no real sense?

It can be quite unsettling, I would imagine.

What If It’s a ‘Wake-Up’ Call?

As people approach their middle years, their lives are bogged down in daily details of the most trivial of matters. In other words, minutiae. Getting distracted by the smallest of problems can take you away from the bigger picture.

common-minutiae-patterns

Looking to identify whose fingerprints are all over the evidence can sometimes blind you to the person who is standing right in front of you, in plain sight. Open your eyes!

Something needs to change.

Your Spirit Guide may be shouting into your ears, but you’re not listening.

Start with the ‘man in the mirror’ and make that change!

A Conservative Media Outlet

national-post-favicon

National Post

I never noticed it before: there is a definite right-wing bias to the reporting from this media outlet. I never bought nor read anything from them, at least until the last general election, here in Canada.

MSN is the purveyor of news for all Microsoft users. The National Post gets a lot of articles featured there. But the slant is always toward the Conservative point-of-view.

So you can imagine how much noise NP made when Trudeau was caught brown-faced.

But no matter how vociferous the paper was about all the mistakes Trudeau made, the Canadian voters didn’t elect a Conservative government, much to its chagrin. So their fingers were pointed at Scheer for failing to deliver the coup de grace.

Scheer said he was staying on as leader of the Conservative Party of Canada. The National Post had a different agenda. So the negative campaign took off.

Finally, Andrew Scheer gave in. Now the campaign has moved on to his replacement.

In the meantime, there has been a crisis involving Iran’s downing of an airliner. So every time Trudeau spoke on behalf of Canadians everywhere, the National Post criticized him.

Are they the reasonable voice of Canadian Conservatives or are they the megaphone mouthpiece of their owners? I cannot tell you, for sure, but I suspect it’s more of the latter, rather than the former.

So, Canada, don’t be fooled.

Just because there are so many headlines, doesn’t mean it’s true.

Portrait: Artist as a Young Woman

akianefb-1

Meet Akiane Kramarik

As I was looking at YouTube videos yesterday, one was suggested for me. It was about Akiane and her painting called Dharma.

Even as I was watching it, I remembered that her painting, “Prince of Peace”, was featured in the book and the movie Heaven is for Real. She was 8 years old when she painted it.

Prince-of-Peace-hi-res

Well, it turns out that her original painting was stolen from her. And then she felt the need to recreate the image years later.

This longer video is a biography of sorts. “Someone” left a video camera on their doorstep the day Akiane was born.

The Chart

KramarikAkianeWREJC1

That Yod (Finger of God) pointing at her Ascendant @ 26º Gemini says it all: the “Light” and the “Shadow” are evident in everything she does. And having Uranus and Pluto forming the Yod doubles this point.

Uranus Inconjunct Ascendant

The restless energies of this aspect should be given some kind of release, because otherwise they can turn inward to create the kind of rash and compulsive actions that lead to accidents. If you have accidents, it is not because you are unlucky, but because you are not careful at critical times. Learn to avoid any kind of dangerous activity when you are nervous, upset or feel that your energies are scattered.

Pluto Inconjunct Ascendant

This can be an indication that through experiences with others, you will be forced to undergo many significant changes in life. At times the crises may be quite unpleasant, but for the most part the results will be very positive, although for some people, they may be less constructive. But you must be careful about the kind of people you get involved with. Choose your friends with great care and try to find people who have a healthy outlook on life and who seem reasonably well balanced. People who are driven to extreme behavior or who act compulsively, as if they could not plan anything in advance, are not very good for you. They will get you into difficult situations that you do not need.

In the longer video, “something” happened to Akiane at about age 4. She disappeared for a time. And the result became her driving force for getting the Jesus image onto canvas.

But there is one more inconjunct.

Mars Inconjunct Jupiter

It is important for you to realize that you are not unlucky. Accidents or mishaps result from going too far too fast rather than from bad luck. If you slow down and learn new skills carefully and slowly, you will do as well as anyone else, perhaps better. However, this may be difficult for you, because you are somewhat impulsive and quite restless. You find it almost impossible to sit still for very long. You are always eager for change and new experiences, even when you are not ready for them yet. The only way to get over this is through self-discipline.

That’s two specific notes about restlessness and accidents. Hmmm. I pondered the ‘event’ that happened when she was 4. Since the 4 am birth time is based on her mother’s recollection (after all, she was there at Akiane’s birth), I looked for the energy that might be attached to the Life*Timing of it. Turns out, only Chiron @ 7º Virgo (in the 4th House) fits the bill. I turned to bobmarksastrologer.com for help…

Chiron in Virgo: Virgo in our horoscope shows where we can best deal with details, and how we deal with matters of health and general well being. Chiron placed here can produce a person who is excessively critical, obsessed with insignificant details, and cleanliness. Conversely, they may simply give up the struggle and be absolutely horrible when it comes to organizing, doing a decent job, or keeping clean. Hypochondria is also a possibility, but you could also get a person who neglects their own health while giving excellent advise about it to everyone else. Perhaps there was excessive criticism in their childhood.

Chiron in the 4th house: Well, just about everyone had some trouble or other in childhood with their parents. Chiron in the 4th house will just make it a little more noticeable. The home itself would tend to be an issue here. Perhaps one is so busy outside the home that they cannot spend much time there, or their work forces them to travel and be away frequently. The father is more likely to have been chronically ill, away from home, or emotionally unavailable. Perhaps there could be a “don’t feel at home anywhere” attitude. Chiron in the 4th house might work out in other ways as well. This placement could conceivably show a person who can help everyone else with their home, while their own place is a wreck.

I think that Akiane’s disappearance has the markings of a “running away from home”. But it seems to be the time that she ‘met’ Jesus.

Conclusion

Colton Burpo was a very young lad when he almost died. He met Jesus, too, during his NDE. It was only when he saw Akiane’s portrait of Jesus that he was able to explain to his totally amazed parents that he had been to the “Other Side”, in his terms ‘Heaven’.

I suspect that a similar thing happened to Akiane Kramarik, at a similar age. Hence the image. Meeting Jesus would have an impact on anyone’s life, but being a child meant that one could accept it more readily.

And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.“
(Matthew 18:3 NIV)
