What About the Round Table Knights?

Here, in the image of the replica Round Table in Winchester, there are 24 knights (and one King Arthur). Hmm. Is this spiritual progress of some kind?

More Art Imitating Life: Richard Burton/Charlemagne

Camelot (1960/1980)

Richard Burton as Arthur (courtesy of Getty Images)

I once had a psychic flash that Charlemagne was Europe’s King Arthur. That was four-and-a-half years ago. I never went further with it, until just now, while researching Richard Burton’s past lives. This is another example of life imitating art.

Charlemagne (April 2, 747 – January 28, 814)

I know it’s trite to suggest that similar configurations suggest reincarnational connections, but I couldn’t help notice that Charlemagne’s natal Ascendant is conjunct his natal Pluto, just like Richard Burton. This time they are in Libra, demonstrating the need to bring balance and harmony to his kingdom. Hmm.

But when you add Charlemagne’s death into the mix, the connections seem more profound.

Now, can you see the connections? Playing King Arthur must have been a doddle for Burton. He was born to be ruler over us all. Wonders will never cease.

1960

I rest my case.

Legend: She had a Face that Launched a Thousand Ships

Helen of Troy (and Paris)

That’s right, folks: Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were the legendary figures that started the Trojan War. Now, I’m sure that they probably had intermediary lives that were less well known, but the key for me is Richard’s Ascendant being located at (circa) 4800 BC, and both his and Liz’ placements of Pluto bracketing that time frame.

Her beauty inspired artists of all times to represent her, frequently as the personification of ideal human beauty. Images of Helen start appearing in the 7th century BC. In classical Greece, her abduction by Paris—or escape with him—was a popular motif. In medieval illustrations, this event was frequently portrayed as a seduction, whereas in Renaissance paintings it was usually depicted as a “rape” (i. e. abduction) by Paris. Christopher Marlowe‘s lines from his tragedy Doctor Faustus (1604) are frequently cited: “Was this the face that launched a thousand ships / And burnt the topless towers of Ilium?”

But don’t take my word for it. See for yourself.

Talk about art imitating life!

Life Lesson: Don’t Base a Marriage on Sexual Chemistry

Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor

I can only imagine how hard it must have been for these two to live together. Even after their first divorce, they got back together and remarried. Now, that’s what I call determination to succeed in the face of all adversity. Or, just silly.

Richard Burton (November 10, 1925 – August 5, 1984)

Most astrologers agree to this being Richard Burton’s correct birth time. The anchor is probably that damned Pluto conjunct Ascendant in Cancer. There is one inconjunct, not dependent on a correct time.

Uranus Inconjunct Neptune

This aspect indicates a generation that had mixed feelings about its ideals and how to implement them. They often felt very confused about their ideals, and when they found that their ideals failed because they were badly formulated, this group became disillusioned. States of consciousness beyond the ordinary are very confusing to them, and they prefer not to get involved with such matters.

Elizabeth Taylor (February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011)

Originally, Elizabeth Taylor’s chart had been ‘corrected’ by me to match what the author of “Synastry: Understanding Human Relations Through Astrology” decided was her birth time. The fact that it’s only one minute before Richard’s should be a warning sign, because my computer had it being @ 2:15 am, even though a couple of websites had 2:30 am. (But who’s quibbling?) I’m going with my computer’s time. Now there are four inconjuncts instead of one.

Sun Inconjunct Midheaven

While you are young, you will find it difficult to decide what to do with your life. The demands of the world may sometimes be hard to handle, because they don’t seem to take advantage of your natural abilities and instincts. Also, much of your time will be taken up with learning routine skills that do not seem at first to have much connection with reality. But don’t try to rush your life. Even if you can’t see why you should learn a skill, try it out anyway. Later on, its purpose may become clear. Certainly you have a right to be young and happy, but don’t overdo it; the lessons you do not learn well now will create problems when you try to pursue a future course of action.

Moon Inconjunct Venus

You very much need affection from others, and you will go to great lengths to get it. You are a very warm and loving person, and you will be liked by many people. The problem here is that you may attach yourself to people who are not good for you in some way simply because they seem loving. You must learn to stand by yourself, not so much because you will have to later, but because you won’t feel so dependent on others for your own sense of worth.

Moon Inconjunct Uranus

With this aspect you must learn to control sudden outbursts of emotion that occur at difficult times when you least expect it. Also your present home life may not be a stable situation in which you can grow up emotionally secure and confident. A particular incident when you were very young may have given you the feeling that you can’t count on anything or anyone for support. Later in life, you may try very hard to get away from anything that reminds you of your earliest childhood, even if your childhood has not been difficult. You just feel that you have to get away and go somewhere else.

Mercury Inconjunct Midheaven

It is very important that you develop your mind and your powers of thought, so that you can use them to attain whatever objectives you set for yourself. However, before you can accomplish this, you may have to solve certain problems. You may feel that there is a tension between your natural spontaneous views and what is taught by your parents and other adults. Recognize this tension within yourself and try to accept the fact that it exists. At the same time you should look for ways to resolve by learning how to think what you want to think and still accomplish your objectives. Just make sure as you get older that you set your own objectives rather than fulfilling other people’s expectations for you.

(You can see who would be running this show.)

When the relationship is viewed from Richard’s perspective, you can see why he wanted to be with her, and why he could never really live without her. His Sun/Saturn conjunction @ 17° Scorpio is linked to Liz’ Venus/Uranus conjunction @ 17° Aries via a very strong (double) inconjunct. At the same time, her Jupiter @ 15° Leo is inconjunct his Midheaven @ 14° Pisces. His Mercury is within 3° of her Ascendant. Liz’ Moon is conjunct Richard’s Sun/Saturn conjunction, and his Moon is conjunct her Neptune. Both their positions of Pluto bracket his Ascendant @ 15° Cancer. And finally, her Saturn is conjunct his South Node, while her North Node is within 6° of his Uranus. This relationship has reincarnational overtones.

I wonder: who might they have been?

She Wants to Help Us Climb “Up Where We Belong”

Buffy Sainte-Marie (February 20, 1941)

Buffy Sainte-Marie was our first Indigenous artist/activist. She is 82 years young.

I have purposely randomized the timing, as no one knows what time she was born. (Most websites state that they have chosen noon, but the charts seem skewed for 9 or 10 am.) There is one Yod, pointing at Pluto, wouldn’t you know. She cannot help her activism.

Sun Inconjunct Pluto

There will be many changes in your life, and you will be affected by deep psychological forces that may be difficult to understand at times, as well as confusing to the people around you. You approach people with great intensity, and your emotional involvements are seldom casual. Either you like people very much or you dislike them intensely. Possibly your attitudes on other matters will be extreme also. One of the most important lessons that you will have to learn is to be more moderate.

You are very serious for your age, perhaps too much so, for taking everything very seriously can destroy much of the joy in life. Not all encounters are important and require you to put yourself on the line, although you may try to live that way.

Mars Inconjunct Pluto

You have a strong will and always want to have your own way. But very often it seems as if tremendous forces are working to prevent you from getting what you want. If you have this problem, it is because of the way you go about trying to achieve your ends. If you put too much force into your desire for something, you may unknowingly alienate people because your aggressive manner shows that you will let nothing stop you from getting what you want. Even if that isn’t the way you really feel about it, you should recognize that your forcefulness creates this impression.

At certain times in your life, when there are great changes taking place within you and in your environment, you will have to work very hard to make your affairs turn out right. There is nothing to be done at those times except do the work that must be done. Fortunately you have plenty of energy and enough endurance to pull through anything that you will encounter in life. You are basically tough and persistent. These changes are an integral part of your growth, and even if everything seems to go wrong they are necessary to your full development.

And a message for her own people about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls:

And the Residential Schools?

As Shown with the Murdaugh Murders:

There’s No Smoke Without Fire

Image courtesy of Ian Duncan – Fine Art America

The meaning of the saying is that the rumours may be true, or at least partially true.

When you suspect something is suspicious, it’s similar to smelling smoke before you see where the fire is. Your senses aren’t lying to you, but explanations may create even more smoke in order to blind your eyes to the true state of affairs. Donald Trump’s troubles have the same effect: because he calls his legal challenges a ‘witch hunt’ he keeps hoping that his political base will stick with him. And as long as he keeps attacking his opponents, he hopes to keep people from seeing his true motives and character.

But here’s the thing: what if there really is no fire, and the media attacks are a smokescreen? Weird, eh?

And the modern take on the same idea?

Hmm.

She Acted as the Channel of Ra and the Law of One

Carla Rueckert (July 16, 1943 – April 1, 2015)

Ellie Dreams Down Under has tackled the question of veracity of the work for which Carla Rueckert was the trance medium.

“Beware false prophets.”

We get our knickers in a twist when presented with the idea that the Egyptian God Ra is the one and only creator. That kind of puts Yahweh in an awkward light, doesn’t it? But that’s only because we were schooled in the Judeo-Christian belief systems. What if they were flat-out wrong?

I have yet to find how this birth time was discovered. I suspect it was anchored with Pluto transiting the Leo Ascendant @ 6°. There is but one (and yet doubled) Yod, pointing at the Moon. Hmm.

Moon Inconjunct Pluto

This aspect means that your emotions are very intense and not always easy to deal with. Often your feelings make you want to do or say something without knowing why. Also you may have very intense moods in which you withdraw from those around you into a world of your own. This should not be a very serious problems unless you have been brought up to have all sorts of fears and worries. In that case your actions will be driven by your fears, and you may behave quite strangely. If you do not feel accepted and emotionally supported at home, you may constantly feel guilty for what you think you have done to others, or jealous that people aren’t paying enough attention to you, or generally possessive of those people around you.

You probably enjoy exploring the mysterious and probing hidden secrets. Even while you are young, you will understand human nature better than most people, but to use this ability positively, you must be reasonably calm about your feelings.

Moon Inconjunct Ascendant

You tend to put your own emotional needs and wants second to whatever you feel has to be done. In other words, you are likely to be more disciplined emotionally than most people your age. But this is not good if you feel that your emotional needs are not important. Your needs must be fulfilled as much as anyone else’s, particularly because your feelings are really very powerful within yourself.

Is that clear?

Again, I ask: is that clear?

Yet another life well-lived.

She was Deaf and Blind, but Not Dumb

Helen Keller (June 27, 1880 – June 1, 1968)

I was prompted to write about Helen Keller by a calendar note for March 3rd:

On this day in 1887: Anne Sullivan begins teaching 6-year-old Helen Keller

Helen’s birth chart was already on my computer program, The timing may not be exactly correct, but it seems close enough for jazz.

The North Node in a 2nd House Capricorn is tied to her being one year of age. Her life’s purpose may have been caused by the scarlet fever that blinded her @ 19 months. The very next ‘event’ in her life is represented by the Moon in a 4th House Pisces at about 6 years. This is when Annie Sullivan came into her life. That Moon is connected to Mars by an inconjunct. There is also an inconjunct connecting Saturn and the Ascendant.

Moon Inconjunct Mars

Until you learn to handle your feelings, you are likely to get angry easily, have temper tantrums and be touchy about what is yours and what is not. You may feel you have to defend yourself against imagined threats. The problem here is that you are likely to become too emotionally involved with ideas, opinions or even objects without knowing it until someone threatens them. Then you react as if you were being personally threatened or attacked. You have to realize that it is possible to change your opinions and attitudes without damaging your worth as a person.

If you have a good relationship with your mother [or someone who who acts in a motherly way with you], you will develop self-confidence and the ability to stand up for your rights against any obstacle. You will be courageous, and your strength will inspire others to follow where you lead. You will be independent and able to go your own way, even if others do not choose to follow. But this will happen only if you have healthy emotional experiences as a child.

“I am not dumb now…”

Saturn Inconjunct Ascendant

With this aspect you probably have a rather serious attitude toward life and other people. It may be quite difficult for you to simply go out and have a good time. You want to be serious and to spend all your time performing significant tasks. This attitude may have developed because you were discouraged from enjoying yourself when you were younger.

You may find it rather difficult to express yourself to other people. This is another expression of your lack of self-confidence, which will change if you get positive emotional support from the people around you.

The combination of birth and death charts shows that the timing is perfect. This was a life, fully lived.

Amen.

From Girl Next Door to Mother Superior: Then and Now

Sally Field (November 6, 1946)

She was always a cutie-patootie. She started out on TV as Gidget (girl-midget), became the Flying Nun and then, later, Forrest Gump’s mother. Sally Field has picked up two Oscars, one for “Norma Rae” and the other for “Pieces of the Heart”.

This birth time is from a birth certificate, so I think we can rely upon it. There are no inconjuncts, so no hidden agendas. As I have noted previously, having Neptune conjunct (even widely) the Ascendant tends to signify an actress, at least in my experience. I need not delineate the aspects, because Ms. Field’s openness is legendary.

Even when honoured by the Oscars, she gushed…

Isn’t she lovely?
