The “America First” Slogan is Not New:

Ernest Lundeen (August 4, 1878 – August 31, 1940)

Why would I purposely look at the life and death of a ‘minor’ figure in American politics?

Because, my friends, there is nothing new under the sun.

With an unknown birthtime, I allowed this one to be randomized. The Moon conjunct the Ascendant @ the opening degrees of Scorpio may be quite significant, especially as both are inconjunct to Saturn. But at the same time, Jupiter is inconjunct to Uranus.

Moon Inconjunct Saturn (perhaps)

This aspect usually means that your need for emotional security conflicts with your need to live with the world’s demands. Each of us needs to be accepted and loved for what we are, in order to have enough self-confidence to deal with the world. But we also have to learn to live with our own life situations in order to survive. In other words, we have to realize that we can’t have everything we want. With this aspect, these two needs are working against each other. Probably you will satisfy one of them at the expense of the other.

Jupiter Inconjunct Uranus (definitely)

You will always need freedom, but you will also discover that what you do with your life will have meaning only if it means something to others. This is not an artificial rule but a truth that you will discover within yourself. When you do, you may become heavily involved in some social movement that advocates unusual ideas or ways of thinking.

Saturn Inconjunct Ascendant (maybe)

With this aspect you probably have a rather serious attitude toward life and other people. It may be quite difficult for you to simply go out and have a good time. You want to be serious and to spend all your time performing significant tasks.

Here is the YouTube video that spurred my thinking about this individual and this subject matter.

They Say the Plane Crash is an Unsolved Mystery

What a mess, eh? However, the time of the crash is known, so I drew up Lundeen’s ‘fatal’ chart:

There are no hidden agendas, as there are no inconjuncts. It is only when you compare his birth and death charts that a pattern emerges.

As the ‘fatal’ chart is accurate for our purposes, I’m have set it in the centre of this comparison (as opposed to the birth chart, normally). Interactively, Lundeen’s natal Saturn is the point of the Yod featuring his ‘fatal’ Mercury and his ‘fatal’ Midheaven. His ‘fatal’ Mars and Sun are conjunct and within 4° of that ‘fatal’ Mercury. This is an ‘accident’ not an assassination. Proof? The natal Sun/Midheaven conjunction is inconjunct to the ‘fatal’ Ascendant.

Was This a Wartime Secret or Just a Hoax?

The Philadelphia Experiment

The YouTube video of Al Bielek’s discussion of this ‘event’ is attached to yesterday’s post.

Warning! Everything about this ‘event’ chart may be speculative, including the date and definitely the time. But what does it tell us?

There are no inconjuncts for the middle of the day, so the focus may need to be on the opposition between Saturn and the Ascendant (@ 29° Sagittarius 42′).

Saturn Opposition Ascendant

The relationship that is most affected by this placement is marriage. You may be too young to think about that now, but your present close relationships, even friendships with people of your own sex, will teach you much that you should know about getting along. Otherwise, you may build up a wall between yourself and everyone else.

Is that code for the way this experiment unfolded?

According to Al Bielek the 1984 film of the same name was an accurate representation of what happened.

However, to rational scientists and skeptical historians, this could never have taken place. Therefore, the consensus is that it was a hoax. Hmm. The jury is still out, as far as I am concerned.

On a Journey to the “Other Side”

Art Bell (June 17, 1945 – April 13, 2018)

When I saw a YouTube video about Art Bell‘s crossing on Cash Peters‘ site, yesterday, I wondered how I’d never knew about him before. Having never heard “Coast to Coast AM” I was totally unaware of his interest in ‘otherworldly’ topics.

The timing of his birth chart is the same on most astrology sites. That Mars/Neptune inconjunct may be a relevant clue to his personality.

Mars Inconjunct Neptune

With this aspect you must learn to stand up for yourself and demand your rights forthrightly and directly. Often you feel that you don’t have enough energy to assert yourself or that any such effort would be futile. Unfortunately, some people with this aspect learn to work behind the scenes or dishonestly. Others simply give up or take a defeatist attitude toward life.

Sometimes this aspect operates on the physical plane as well. You may have a generally low energy level and feel tired all the time but not able to sleep because of nervousness. You may actually need more sleep than others, and if so, you should try to get it. This aspect may also indicate that you tend to have allergies and infections.

You should get regular exercise to build up your body.

He Died from an Accidental Overdose of ‘Lawfully Prescribed Medication’

This timing is entirely randomized and then adjusted back by 5 hours to make it happen in the middle of the night. This is entirely speculative, on my part. The configuration is similar to his birth chart in that all the energies are limited to one half of the chart. What cannot be taken away is that the Sun is inconjunct to Jupiter on that fateful day.

It is important to discipline your habits and try not to do anything to excess, as you may tend to do. You may gain a great deal of weight, for example, or damage your health in other ways. Laziness and physical softness are very great dangers with this aspect. You may tend to be sloppy in the way you dress and take care of yourself.

Planets in Youth (by Robert Hand)

Anyway, Fox News reported his death this way:

According to an obituary shared by the program, the show became syndicated across the country in 1993 and drew in listeners with its wee-hours chatter about conspiracy theories and aliens, shadow people and spectral energy.

The obituary said that as Bell “begins his journey on the ‘Other Side,’ we take solace in the hope that he is now finding out all of the answers to the mysteries he pursued for so many nights with all of us.”

Amen to that.

Getting a Second Chance at Life

Chants the Kakariki

According to his breeder, this little fellow should not be alive right now. He (almost) hatched, on September 27th, but couldn’t break through his shell completely. His breeder said that she’d been out when he started the task of escaping his confines, and when she finally looked, all internal movement had ceased. So, she opened up his eggshell, and there he was, still alive. She called him ‘Chance’.

That inconjunct between the Moon and Neptune may give us a clue about Chants’ will to live. (I decided to keep his name but change the spelling so that it will mean ‘the songs’ he sings.)

He is still with the breeder for at least five more weeks, as he is being hand-fed, until he signals that it’s time to be weaned off his baby formula. And, by all accounts, he’s going to be a big bird for his species.

This is what he will look like when fully grown.

Now, my reason for sharing this with you all is a question that I’ve had since watching a video yesterday of how Chants reacted with my wife, Susan. To say he was ‘all over her’ would be an understatement. In fact, even the breeder is surprised by how he has taken to Susan. Chants was hatched 9 days before Kaiya passed. And yet, even the way Susan was led to the breeder (one week later) was bizarre, to say the least. Most people would agree that birds, if they have souls, belong to a group soul. Does that group soul know when and how to fill a void for a human when a beloved pet bird dies? That’s my question.

I suspect that something like transmigration of souls is in operation here, but totally unprovable, at least to a rational scientist. But to a ‘true believer’ this is just the Universe’s way of providing for all our needs, especially in our time of grief.

“The Greater Good Trumps All Other Concerns”

The Steele Dossier (First Report – June 20, 2016)

Well, the Steele dossier is back in the news. And what makes this more interesting is that this is a Bill Barr-instigated investigation by John Durham. Talk about biting someone (I wonder who?) in the rear end.

Why I’m looking at this astrologically is the ‘secret’ nature of the contents.

The timing is actually unknown, so I have used 12 noon, Washington time. So, isn’t it interesting that Jupiter is (accidently) conjunct the Ascendant @ 15° Scorpio? Secrets revealed, perhaps. There are two inconjuncts, one absolutely spot-on for the whole day, the other dependent on a correct timing.

Mars Inconjunct Uranus

You have a tendency to be rash and impulsive, which may get in your way. If matters proceed too slowly, you are likely to make a sudden move that upsets the whole situation and forces you to start over again. You must learn to be patient if you want to achieve your objectives.

Sometimes you may make sudden moves that startle people. You may make a decision very quickly and start to act on it immediately, but that is not such a good idea. Make up your mind more slowly, or at least wait until you start to act. If your idea still looks good a couple of days later, it is probably all right to go ahead with it.

Pluto Inconjunct Midheaven

Your parents and teachers should be very straightforward with you, because if you feel that people are not being honest with you, you will not be honest with them. You are quite capable of acting behind peoples’ back if you consider it necessary or if you feel that you never get your own way.

Another problem that can arise if you are not treated properly is that you may withdraw into yourself and become very secretive, as though you have something to hide even when you don’t. This can make people distrust you.

Makes me wonder if the first one is Steele and the second one is Trump.

All-in-all, this dossier looks like the 70th birthday gift that just keeps on giving, even when you want it to die.

The Day I Learned My Mother was A Tigress

A Day Billy Bingleman Will Never Forget

Dunsford United Church Manse

This might seem a strange story to share from 1957 (65 years ago). I was walking up the long hill from school and got accosted by Billy, whose dad owned the gas station kitty-corner to our house in Dunsford, Ontario. (You can locate this intersection on Google Earth with the following co-ordinates: 44° 27′ 09.74 N, 78° 38′ 35.43″ W.)

Billy was a bit of a bully. I’m not sure why he kicked me in the rear, but he did, and I started to cry. In order to placate me, he ‘invited’ me to kick him back. My memory says that I did, but not as hard as he kicked me. And out of the corner of my eye, I saw my mother coming down the hill, at full tilt.

I thought I was in for a spanking for doing that back to Billy, so you can imagine my surprise when she flew right past me and started chasing Billy back down the hill. She almost caught up with him, but he evaded her wrath by quickly climbing over a wire fence running along the sidewalk. Mom yelled at him to never touch me again.

Then she came back to me, eyes blazing, and walked me the rest of the way up the hill to our home.

Why am I remembering this now?

It Only Took a Week…

Kaiya Says “Hi!”

At exactly 3:22 am this morning, I heard Kaiya’s distinctive call. Susan said later that she’d been thinking of her sweet bird for most of the night, but did not hear her say, “Kai”.

And for those who are doubters, I was not dreaming at that moment, but in the state of mind between deep sleep and waking up, in other words, ‘the twilight zone’. Symbolically, the Yod pointing at the Sun @ 21° Libra would be proof enough. Here’s a comparison of the event with Kaiya’s ‘hatch’ chart and my birth chart.

My Neptune @ 17° Libra is conjunct both Kaiya’s natal Jupiter and the event’s Sun/Venus conjunction.

Kaiya’s ‘mini-me’ imitation

I’m so glad you’re still around.

Catching the Train Out of Montana to Wyoming

Yellowstone

We didn’t catch this train, until a month ago, when we connected Susan’s Amazon Prime membership to our TV. Now we have just 4 episodes to go before season 5 takes off down the line in November.

In my experience, this television show is more violent than any spy thriller has ever been. (And, just to put this into perspective, I won’t watch horror shows.) Violence may seem justified in some instances, but it is a very old, old way of dealing with the encroachment of modern society on the Old West. This show has lots of metaphors about modern warfare (hostile corporate takeovers, for example) and it seems also to be a way of explaining what is going on in the States at the moment.

It struck me last night, during one of our marathon viewing sessions, that ‘catching the train’ was a euphemism for being run out of town on a rail. In Yellowstone, this metaphor is employed as a way of dumping an unwanted body on the Wyoming side of the border between the two states. There must be the bones of untold numbers of murdered individuals at the bottom of that ravine. Murdered and missing.

How the West was won and lost is chronicled here.
