Indigenous People Holding the Country to Ransom

Canadian Flags Flying at Half Mast

Image courtesy of the National Post

In remembrance of the fallen. That is the usual way of honouring the dead. Canada has kept its flags at half-mast since the unmarked graves of 215 native children were discovered at the former Indian Residential School at Kamloops in May. But now we are approaching Remembrance Day and the flags cannot be lowered if they’re already at half-mast.

As a Government, Canada has to walk a tightrope between the native population and the rest of its citizens. And, really, no matter which way they try to reach an acceptable compromise, there are always voices calling them out.

It will be interesting to see how soon the flags are raised again after this coming Thursday. Hopefully, the very next day. The (com)promise will be to lower the flags again next September 30th* in honour of the children who died and were buried in secret all those years ago.

The Wellspring*: Falling Leaves

September 18 – 27, 2012: *Interim Channelling

18th

Life has many pitfalls and these can delay progress. It is necessary to understand these delays are not negative. You have had the opportunity to learn a lot from what you regard as blunders on your path. In all pain is a lesson, it is dis-ease. It stimulates the seeking of a cure. Do not regard these pains as a curse but the body reflecting the need to look for something. There are all kinds of pain, both physical and emotional. You have been taught to believe that the aging process is inevitable, that you just have to accept the slowing down process towards the end of the road. Do not accept this. Work on the areas of pain to release the blocks which have caused them. Believe in the process of regeneration.

22nd

The crossroads of life are before you. J. is going through enormous changes and needs to process this new understanding and experience. It is hard for him, at present, bringing repressed realisations to light and creating an energy of disruption, as he feels disorientated from the past. It will take a little while to come to terms with everything and to precede forward needs thought. There is a sense of responsibility to be coped with and apprehension for the future. Much of what has supported him appears to be shifting and learning to trust in the future is a problem. Be patient.

Realising the complexity of life brings rewards. You are experiencing turmoil of emotion which cannot be undone swiftly. Eons have passed to bring you to this point. The suffering is understandable and inevitable, to bring the new into being. We know how you doubt all of this and you will see, as the days go by, how our words come to pass. The journey of life can be tortuous for the human spirit and bring with it a stream of realisations. Do not believe all you have been told. The relief of good news can create a feeling of euphoria which cannot last. Be patient and trust in the future.

The Leaves fall as autumn approaches, and with it many issues you have been contending with will fall away. It has been a time of sorting out which is important for the dross of life. You have been through an intensive period of lessons yet it feels as though nothing was happening. Be still in the knowledge that all is well. You need only to relax and the path ahead will open up. The years of study do have their value even though that feeling of self doubt still holds you back. There is a valuable contribution you can make to life. Be still and wait.

27th

Time passes and the leaves are falling and with them old thoughts and the dross of the past. Now it is possible to begin a new chapter in your life, bringing with it the challenges of the new. It is imperative for you to begin to change some patterns, which have been holding you back, in order to bring the new into being. We know you doubt all of this and you will see as the days go by how our words will be reinforced to bring proof. Now it is possible for you to be more energised, free of the forces which appear to have held you back. Believe all is possible…stop doubting.

L.M.N. Tree and May Paul: Our Ancestors?

A Pawn Piece (1978 play): Act III

(Page 16)

(The curtain comes up on yet another area of the forest. Two characters, PAUL and TREE, are engaged in an animated conversation. PAUL is wearing a full-blown green dress, with dark tan stockings; TREE is wearing a green sport shirt with dark brown pants. They are both over sixty years, very tall in height. The stage lights are now orange.)

PAUL: But you said last night that we were going to do something different today.

TREE: Now, don’t go and get yourself all in a dither over nothing. I thought we might branch out today and see what’s going on in the world.

PAUL: Really? It’s about time: getting you to move is almost as rough as having root canal work done.

TREE: It is not. Didn’t you have enough excitement when we grafted a twig onto your body last week?

PAUL: A twig is right! It probably won’t amount to anything: your seeds died years ago. Let’s face it, you’re over the hill.

TREE: I am not: I never went anywhere.

PAUL: See, getting you to move is impossible.

(DEREK enters)

TREE: You’re the one who’s impossible. Wouldn’t you like to see something different?

PAUL: Sure, like what?

DEREK: Pardon me.

TREE: (to Derek) Don’t interrupt. (to PAUL) Like our neighbours on the other side.

PAUL: They’re boring. They don’t talk about anything else but what darling little grandchildren their samplings are.

TREE: Saps is more like it.

DEREK (louder): Pardon me.

PAUL: (to DEREK) Look, young man, it’s very rude to interrupt your elders while they’re discussing something that’s important to them. Please wait until we’ve finished our discussion, or invite you to join in. (to TREE) Now, where were we?

TREE: I was about to suggest some more interesting things we could do, today.

PAUL: Right; go ahead.

(Page 17)

TREE: How about meeting new people? Some of them can be real characters.

PAUL: That’s not a bad idea. Where should we start?

TREE: How about this young sprout?

PAUL: Okay. (to DEREK) Young man.

DEREK: Yes, ma’am?

PAUL: We want to meet new people today. May we start with you?

DEREK: I guess so.

TREE: Ah-hem! My name is L.M.N. Tree. You can call me L.M. for short; and this is my companion, May Paul.

PAUL: Miss May Paul.

TREE: Right, sorry.

DEREK: How do you do, my name is Derek.

PAUL My, what a nice name. What does it mean?

DEREK: I think it’s Germanic for “folk” or “rule”, I’m not sure.

PAUL: Mine is a Hebrew derivative of “Mary”, meaning “wished-for child”; and I have (glaring a TREE), oh, but I have.

DEREK: Mr. Tree…

TREE: L.M.

DEREK: L.M., what do your initials represent?

TREE: I’d rather not say.

PAUL: Go ahead, L.M., it won’t hurt you to explain.

DEREK: Yes, please do.

TREE: Oh, all right. I think my parents wanted a girl when I was born, because they named me Leslie Merle Noel, in spite of the fact that I was a boy. As I’m ashamed of those name, I use my initials instead.

DEREK: i think they’re rather nice.

PAUL: See, I told you they weren’t so bad.

TREE: But they’re so unmasculine.

PAUL: Do you think a last name like Paul is any better? People think they’re referring to a man, when they’re talking about me.

TREE: It could have been worse: it could have been “Pole”.

PAUL: May Pole? Yuch! I see what you mean.

(Page 18)

DEREK: It seems to me that your names represent the Androgynous aspect that’s inherent in each of us.

TREE: Androgynous?

DEREK: Yes, the fact that you have within your natures both masculine and feminine characteristics.

PAUL: Androgynous, eh? Now I know why we haven’t had any offshoots, yet; after all these years, I find out you’ve been doing it to yourself.

TREE: May! Hold your tongue: we have company.

PAUL: So you’re not denying it, eh? Ah-ha!

TREE: We’ll discuss this later.

PAUL: That’s what you think. Maybe I’ll just pack my trunk and leave.

TREE: No, you won’t: your bark is worse than your deeds.

PAUL: So you want my deeds? If so, just say the word, and you’ll see if my bark’s worse or not.

DEREK: (to TREE) What’s the word?

TREE: What word?

DEREK: The word you’re supposed to say if you want Miss Paul’s deeds.

TREE: You sound like you’ve been talking to Colonel Klunk.

DEREK: As a matter of fact, I have. Do you know him?

TREE: Only slightly. I ran into him, once.

PAUL: That’s not true: he ran into you. (to DEREK) Klunk caused a lot of damage; L.M. hasn’t been right since.

TREE: After bumping into him, I mean, him bumping into me, I haven’t been sure who was in the right. Naturally I assumed I’d made the mistake of being in the right place at the wrong time. Or was that the wrong place at the right time? It’s so confusing.

PAUL: Anyway, the policeman who investigated the accident wasn’t too pleased.

DEREK: Why?

TREE: He said that he’s been hot on the trail of this ex-con who talks to strangers about Police corruption.

DEREK: Just a minute! Was the policeman’s name Watson?

PAUL: Yes, Sgt. Watson. Do you know him, too?

DEREK: I had a run-in with him. Actually, it was more of a run-out. A run-out of town. Did he mention the ex-con’s name?

TREE: I think he called him the “Flying Frenchman”.

(Page 19)

DEREK: Yes, that’s how Watson referred to him, when we had our little misunderstanding. His real name is Jean Claude Scolder.

TREE: So you got to meet him, too.

PAUL: Anyway, Sgt. Watsonb was quite abrupt; I don’t think he likes us.

DEREK: What did he do?

PAUL: It’s not what he did but what he said.

TREE: It was quite a mouthful.

DEREK: He has a tendency to run off at the mouth. What did he say this time?

TREE: You tell him, May. You know how I hate to swear.

PAUL: When we asked him if he could help us clean up the mess, he said, “Piss on you; do it yourself.”

TREE: Needless to say, we didn’t ask who was going to pay for the surgeon. He certainly showed us his prejudice against senior citizens.

PAUL: Yes, his zipper was undone.

DEREK: How could he be so crude?

PAUL: It’s easy for him; he acts like a real dog.

TREE: I was going to complain, but didn’t know with whom to get in touch.

DEREK: You should have complained. I was always under the impression that the Police are there to help people.

PAUL: Their uselessness costs the taxpayer valuable money. They’re stealing their monthly paycheque for the third-rate service they provide.

TREE: Speaking of stealing, do you realise how little a reward we’re given for sticking around?

DEREK: No, I don’t.

TREE: It’s so little that Miss Paul and I had to share our resources to make ends meet.

PAUL: We’re living in sin, because we know that we’d get even less if we were joined together…

DEREK: Living in sin?

PAUL: Without benefit of clergy. You know: what God has joined together, let no man pull asunder.

DEREK: Oh, I understand now, without getting legally hitched. My grandfather used to be a minister.

(Page 20)

TREE: What happened to your grandfather?

DEREK: He was defrocked.

PAUL: Sounds sinful.

DEREK: Not really, just drastic. They didn’t want him around anymore.

TREE: It’s terrible what people in authority think they can get away with.

PAUL: Take the Old Age Pension system, please. As it stands now, or should I say, leans, it’s outmoded.

TREE: It’s so obsolete, it requires root and branch reform.

DEREK: Root and branch reform?

TREE: I forgot you were younger. “Root and Branch” means “radical, drastic or extreme”.

DEREK: Oh.

PAUL: Anyway, now we share everything: shelter; water; food.

DEREK: How did you meet?

TREE: I realise that I’m going out on a limb to say this, but, although we’ve been close neighbours all our lives, we were strangers.

PAUL: Yes. It wasn’t until we’d each had our roots traced, for our separate family trees, that we discovered that we had a common background and grounds for a lasting relationship.

DEREK: How did you finally get together?

PAUL: As a matter of fact we didn’t get together until the heavy snowfall of ’67.

TREE: It was then that I got up enough nerve to drop May a few lines to see if she’d like to curl up with me for warmth for a few days.

PAUL: (to TREE) You were too scared: standing there shaking like a leaf. I had to make the first move.

TREE: No, you didn’t.

PAUL: I did, too. Remember when I asked you for some sugar? (to DEREK) I was starting to make some maple syrup, to keep my body busy during those cold winter months.

TREE: Oh, right; I forgot.

PAUL: Anyway, we’ve been together ever since. For the most part it’s been good; the bad times are when I’m trying to get some sleep.

DEREK: What makes sleeping a bad time?

(Page 21)

PAUL: L.M. snores.

TREE: That’s not fair: it’s the wind whistling through.

PAUL: You should try to control it.

TREE: Why should I? You’re always swaying and shaking when I try to sleep.

PAUL: The wind makes me do that.

DEREK: Since you’ve both blamed the wind, why don’t you let it blow its illness elsewhere?

PAUL: Maybe Derek’s right. I don’t want us to split up.

TREE: Maybe I would! It might be fun taking some sweet young thing off her limbs with my sweeping bough.

PAUL: (to DEREK) I’d better nip this thing in the bud. (to TREE) Look here, no youngster is going to want a doddering old fool hanging about. You’re past your prime, way past.

TREE: May, you’ve been petrified that you could go from the grove to the grave, without having a younger one to carry on after you.

PAUL: And have her carry on with you? No, thank you!

TREE: All right, you’ve had your chance.

PAUL: But it was wasted on you. You’d love to strut your stuff for someone else, wouldn’t you? All I can say is, don’t ever try with me around.

TREE: I can still look, can’t I?

PAUL: But don’t touch. (to DEREK) Sorry, we didn’t mean to exclude you.

DEREK: That’s okay, I understand. My mom and dad used to fight like that all the time until they got divorced.

TREE: Marriage breakups can do a lot of damage. That’s another reason why we won’t get married. It would be too painful to break up later.

PAUL: L.M., you’re kindling a flame in my heart.

REE: Don’t let it engulf you.

DEREK: I just remembered that I came here to ask you directions.

PAUL: Is that why you were interrupting our conversation?

DEREK: Yes, I’m looking for a friend to play with.

TREE: Just a little further down the way you were headed, you’ll find a real “cool cat”. I think she’s near your age.

DEREK: What’s she like?

(Page 22)

TREE: She’s a bit contradictory in nature.

DEREK: In what way?

TREE: She’s a philosopher who questions everything about life.

DEREK: Is there anything else you’d like to tell me?

PAUL: If you meet up with Regent Roxy, be gentle with him; he’s had a rocky time.

DEREK: Is that all?

PAUL: Yes, you’d better get going as this act’s about to fall.

DEREK: Thanks you. I’ll slip out by this fore stage.

(The curtain falls as DEREK exits. This time it’s for a regular-length intermission.)

The Wellspring: Be Ready

(Flashback to) November 6, 1991

A clarion call, the trumpets are sounding.

Be ready and prepared for the way of the Lord, and your growth in understanding, as you put down the barriers and restrictions. The power of the Universe is flowing through you, with its full strength and power, in all its mightiness.

The angelic hosts proclaim hat the time has come for humanity to take its place and rejoin, in true understanding of it place in, the Universe.

A great, swelling crowd of humankind is ready to ascend into a wider and fuller understanding of the part that they play. The scales fall away and the eyes are open, and the time has come.

The restrictions that you have known for so long have fallen away.

Please be ready.

The Wellspring*: Love is All There Is

October 13, 2012: *Interim Channelling

As you begin to formulate new ideas, it will assist you

in uncovering those units which have blocked and distracted you over the years. It is essential at this time to realise that you have a great part to play in the coming times to assist those who seek to understand. We know you have fallen into a bad place of late and you understand why this is, from the studying you have done. Keep it up. You have much wisdom and a lot to offer. This emotional trap you find yourself in is both a blessing and a curse. It has pushed you to study this one particular chart in depth. All will be revealed in time and your request will be answered. It is only when you are feeling entrenched in your own work that you will be ready for the influence of another, so as not to distract you as in previous patterns. You have your own work and destiny to follow. How you do this is up to you. Commitment is essential. Do not worry about people who are unable to understand you, even if you do feel lonely at times. Enjoy your peace and don’t worry.

What is needed now is a commitment to unify those forces that have sabotaged your progress in the past. You have allowed disparate energies of attraction to sidetrack your way forward. It does not matter that you heard contradictory information when you doubted your own inner knowing. It is there ahead of you to move into another sphere of consciousness, to bring about changes that are required. You have learnt much and still have the desire to continue in this search. Listen to your inner voice and trust what it tells you.

If you want to be sure that the guidance you get is pure and unadulterated by your own urges which are simply selfish, we would remind you that you do not know how the sentences will finish. It is because of this that you have more confidence in the truth you channel. The issues with your son-in- law are part of the overall plan of lessons. We know that in the main you do not worry about the amount, but you are dealing with principles and need to confront your fears. Little though you realise it, the outcome will be in your favour. E. and C. have different agendas to cope with that have nothing to do with you.

J. has many issues to confront and must deal with them one at a time. Guilt is indeed an issue which he is only beginning to come to terms with. He honours your honesty and understands how you endeavour to do what is right. Your cry for help energises him and forces action to proceed. Love is all there is.

Crème de la Crème: Still Fresh After All These Years

Dame Maggie Smith (December 28, 1934)

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie

When this film was made, Maggie Smith was almost 35 years old: most definitely in her prime.

Now, it seems, she still gets all the best lines, no matter which role she plays.

As her birth time is unknown (or withheld), I randomized this chart. The resulting Yod may, or may not, be applicable to her, but even so, there is one inconjunct that is not dependent on a correct birth time.

Venus Inconjunct Ascendant (perhaps)

You often feel that you haven’t any right to ask much of those whom you love. You feel that you must do favors for them instead of asking for their help. For you, love is an act of service, not self-gratification. Your close friends and loved ones discover that you are quite different in a close relationship than you appear at first. It is not that you are dishonest, but that you show a side of yourself to your friends that you usually keep hidden, often because you are not entirely confident in that role.

Jupiter Inconjunct Ascendant (perhaps)

Probably you will accomplish the most if you direct your energies to tasks that benefit others as well as yourself. It may be that much of your work will not benefit you directly, but in the long run you will gain from it. This is not merely a plea for you to be unselfish, but an assertion that you will achieve your own goals most quickly by doing work that helps others.

Saturn Inconjunct Pluto (definitely)

Even under favorable circumstances, this aspect usually means hat you are resistant to change, that you hold on to any situation, no matter how bad, until it is totally intolerable. Then when change does take place, it has to create a revolution and a total breakdown of everything that came before it. You must learn to adapt to circumstances a bit more gracefully and not be afraid of the occasional compromise.

This aspect usually does mean that you are tough and can contend with a great deal of adversity, but don’t develop an attitude that makes adversity inevitable.

You may find it difficult to get along with others, because you are unnecessarily afraid of what they want from you. Learn to associate only with people whom you can trust.

Professor Minerva McGonagall (Harry Potter films)

Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham (Downton Abbey)

Muriel Donnelly (Best Exotic Marigold Hotel)

There ain’t nothing like a Dame.

Eleventh Hour, the Eleventh Day, the Eleventh Month

The End of the Great War, 1918

For those who think that 11:11 is a new phenomenon, this was the original event. It was also when the seeds of the Second World War were planted.

Although the actual signing took place at 5:45 AM, the Armistice took effect at precisely 11:00 AM. Between those two times, almost 3,000 soldiers were killed. There are three inconjuncts.

Moon Inconjunct Jupiter

If your mother does not support your needs fully, you will feel insecure and will look elsewhere for support and fulfillment. In this case your concern will be totally for yourself with little thought for other people’s needs.

Mercury Inconjunct Pluto

On another level, this aspect can mean that at certain times in your life you will go through tremendous psychological changes. All your thoughts and opinions will change completely. These stages may seem difficult, but you will be much better off if you let go of the past and welcome the new ideas.

Neptune Inconjunct Ascendant

The more positive way of dealing with this energy is by giving freely before others try to take it from you. In order to do this, you have to feel good about yourself and confident that you will always have enough for yourself and others.

The Treaty of Versailles (June 28, 1919)

This one became the most one-sided treaty of all time. It also, effectively, pissed off the German people so much that they decided within 15 years to back Hitler in his quest for the Third Reich.

This event chart was already on my Kepler 7.0 program, but the date was listed as June 18, 1919. The programmers had missed the passage in the history books: it was intended to be in recognition of the fifth anniversary of Archduke Franz Ferdinand’s assassination. Oh, well, it’s an easy mistake to make.

Notice that there are no inconjuncts, this time. But that stubborn Uranus is still the handle of the bucket @ 1° Pisces. I’m guessing that the ‘war’ planets needed to be confined to the 10th and 11th Houses of a chart, with Mars conjunct the Midheaven. That’s where the next World War came from…

The Start and End of the Great War Compared

Five years, and not much had changed in that time period. Even the conjunction of the two charts’ Ascendants (22°-25° Scorpio) seems significant to me. In a way, this implies that nothing was resolved.

Conclusion

The Wellspring*: Being Here

September 10, 2012: *Interim Channelling

Units of time bring an unfolding of experience to release blockages of thought.

You have been learning to embrace the issues encoded in your genes which lead through a series of lifetimes and through the group connection of the family. Do not regret any alienation you have experienced, because this has released you from further involvement. Life has been good in the main and you have achieved much of what you set yourself before your birth. You fear the leadership role, yet your presence is a catalyst in ways you cannot imagine and you spur others forward in their quest.

Being here has its own rewards. You have found a niche which enables you to practice your talents and release some of the problems you have experienced in your relationships. Do not regret the passing of those relationships as they have enabled you to grow in appreciation and understanding of self.

The Assassination that Triggered the Great War

The Shooting of Archduke Franz Ferdinand (June 28, 1914)

After watching season two of Downton Abbey on Netflix, I wondered if I had written about this event before. It turns out that I had previously raised a chart, but nothing more.

When the image of a chart looks like this (a two-handed bucket), one also wonders if that doesn’t give us a clue. Jupiter represents expansion, and Uranus represents freedom.

In other words, ‘room to breathe’.

Uranus Inconjunct Ascendant

The restless energies of this aspect should be given some kind of release, because otherwise they can turn inward to create the kind of rash and compulsive actions that lead to accidents. If you have accidents, it is not because you are unlucky, but because you are not careful at critical times. Learn to avoid any kind of dangerous activity when you are nervous, upset or feel that your energies are scattered.

Today, people forget what a big deal this assassination was. To put it into perspective, it would be the equivalent of someone shooting Charles, the Prince of Wales, in Scotland. Can you imagine that?

There were 20 million deaths and 21 million wounded. The total number of deaths includes 9.7 million military personnel and about 10 million civilians. The Entente Powers (also known as the Allies) lost about 5.7 million soldiers while the Central Powers lost about 4 million.

What a price everyone paid for the Yugoslavs’ freedom!

The Wellspring*: A Point of Time

September 3, 2012: *Interim Channelling

The Point of Time needed to bring all things into being is when you are ready for it.

There is no point rushing anything which is not ready. All things come to those who wait. Beginning with the intent is how the process works, units fall into place bit-by-bit and form begins to take shape. You have needed to learn this process through many incarnations and are only to understand it fully. The human mind does not operate with an overall picture, it only sees a tiny corner of possibility. This is what you have been working towards…the higher process.

Self-doubt has always been your block; courage is needed to break through. It can only happen gradually and by being on your own has helped you to learn to trust your own judgement, but it doesn’t take much to throw you over. You still tend to seek confirmation at times rather than sticking to your own point of view.

You have learnt the skill of silence in the main…watching and listening, not joining into the trivia you see all around you. Do have confidence to move forward with your ideals. Never mind the thoughts and opinion of others. They have their own journey of self discovery.
