Again, this post was triggered by the Nick Merico appearance on American Idol this week. It took me back to season 8 when Adam Lambert auditioned, and then came second in the contest to Kris Allen. Of course, quality will always rise to the top of the music game, and becoming front man for Queen didn’t hurt.
But what is it about Adam that makes him so special?
When I looked up his birth details, my mind had one of those a-ha moments. It turns out he was born exactly 10 days after Pete Buttigieg in the same part of the United States, Indiana. And they’re both LGBTQ+. That has to be a coincidence, right?
I have no ‘proof’ of how accurate his birth time is, but other astrologers consider it to be ‘excellent’. So, the fact that the Moon is in the right place for the timing of his American Idol success makes it probably true.
Note that Adam has two inconjunctions. Since he is now ‘out’ of the closet, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind my sharing what they mean for him.
Sun Inconjunct Midhaven
While you are young, you will find it difficult to decide what to do with you life. The demands of the world may sometimes be hard to handle, because they don’t seem to take advantage of your natural abilities and instincts. Also, much of your time will be taken up with learning routine skills that do not seem at first to have much connection with reality. But don’t try to rush your life. Even if you can’t see why you should learn a skill, try it anyway. Later on, its purpose may become clear. Also you tend to rush through your tasks, because you are impatient to get to something else, but in that way you don’t learn anything very thoroughly. Or you may try to live entirely for what you think is most pleasurable at the moment rather than for your long-range goals. Certainly you have a right to be young and happy, but don’t overdo it; the lessons you do not learn well now will create problems when you try to pursue a future curse of action.
This aspect can mean some tension with one of your parents, although it is not likely to be serious or destructive. In fact it may play a very positive role later on by forcing you to confront certain issues that you would otherwise have ignored. However, while you are young, you may resent this parent quite a bit. Do not take this too seriously, unless some other area of your chart indicates a more negative relationship.
Moon Inconjunct Jupiter
This aspect indicates that you have a positive, optimistic outlook on life, and you enjoy socializing with good friends. However, there are some dangers with this aspect. First, it can be a sign that you are self-indulgent and possibly even selfish, although this is not likely to happen if you have a good, strong relationship with your mother. You have a great need to be cared for and supported, to be accepted for what you are with no strings attached. If this need is fulfilled, the positive side of this aspect will flourish. But if your mother does not support your needs fully, you will feel insecure and will look elsewhere for support and fulfillment. In this case your concern will be totally for yourself with little thought for other people’s needs.
Winning Ticket?
It may seem a bit of a long shot, but Pete Buttigieg will need a running mate if he wins the nomination as the Democratic Presidential candidate. He could do worse than having Adam Lambert run for the Vice-Presidency. I think they’d get a lot of votes from both sides of the sexual divide. What do you think?
We watched this Rom-Com movie the other night. In it, Sara sets a series of challenges for the Universe to prove that she and Jonathan should be together. This ‘proof’ is constantly challenged by missteps, accidents, and chance encounters. In other words, the time needs to be right before they are reunited. A constant refrain in the movie is “It’s just an accident, Sara: don’t read anything into it.” But that’s exactly what Sara does.
I’m all for plot twists: after all, the usual script path for most romantic films is quite straight-forward. In fact, if they are Hallmark movies, you can see each complication hit its mark at every quarter hour of the two hour TV program. Boring.
But the idea that all complications can be overcome by the end of the show is a bit much.
Other movies have done a better job, without seeming contrived.
Sleepless in Seattle (1993)
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan together have had a couple or three Rom-Coms over the years. Sleepless in Seattleis the best of the bunch. What I appreciated about its portrayal of a couple destined to meet was the fact that they’d seen each other before the meeting and liked how each other looked. That happens in real life, at least in my experience.
The setup of meeting on the observation deck of the Empire State Building was an echo of Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in An Affair to Remember. Jonah as the young son, along for the ride, probably made the situation more palatable for modern audiences.
This is the right kind of ‘three boxes of tissues’ movie. Women, especially love it.
Sliding Doors (1998)
This movie, starring Gwyneth Paltrow, was a horse of a different colour. The concept was of what would happen if something prevented two people from meeting, while watching the opposite situation of their meeting at the same time, with alternating sequences.
What made this one effective, at least for me, is that something that is intended to happen, will happen sometime, even if it seems to be thwarted during much of the story.
I enjoyed this one, immensely. The switching of hairstyles helped me keep track.
Conclusion
Romantic movies are definitely here to stay, but they are not to everyone’s taste.
But as the last movie says, “No one expects the Spanish Inquisition…”
The “casting couch” has been a ‘fact’ of Hollywood life for so long that it even became an apocryphal joke from the set of “The Ten Commandments”.
Charlton Heston, in his autobiography In The Arena, wrote that the orgy scene being filmed about the Golden Calf celebrations went on for so long (four days), that…
At last, one of the extra girls went over to the first assistant director. “Tell me, Eddie,” she said wearily. “Who do I have to fuck to get off this picture?” (page 140)

Harvey Weinstein’s trial has been dragging on for a couple of weeks. He is the ‘ugly’ poster boy for all the naughty Hollywood producers who came before him. Powerful men use fame and fortune as a dangling carrot for up-and-coming starlets. “Sleep with me, and I’ll make a star out of you,” is the bait. These young women have no other options, even though it would be preferable to keep their distance from such odious men. And yet, to keep their jobs and their prospects alive, they must also send messages of affection and gratitude afterwards. And the defence attorneys think that proves the sex was consensual.
Obviously, not. Yet Jian Gomeshi was acquitted because of those ‘love’ notes, in 2016.
When one person holds a position of power over another, anything that happens is not a transaction between equals. How could it be? And yet, the game is: I’ve got something you want, what are you willing to trade in return?
Whatever befalls Weinstein, his days on the casting couch are long gone. Thank God.
Yesterday’s post covered Elvis Presley’s birth chart.
Today, we are going to look at his death chart.
I am aware that the ‘official’ time of death was listed as 2:50 pm on August 16, 1977. But I’m timing this chart at 2:30 pm, because that is when he was found unconscious in his bathroom, without vital signs (like breathing). The 20 minute time difference would have placed more emphasis on Neptune at the Ascendant, but I suspect he was already dead at the earlier time. The other point will be seen later: the conjunction of the birth and death Ascendants.
Just one inconjunction, this time:
Venus Inconjunct Neptune
This aspect will work out with the fewest problems if you get a great deal of emotional support from your parents and other loved ones. You are willing to serve, help and assist those you love, but you may honestly feel that you don’t deserve to be loved unless you are forced to serve your loved one in some way. This is because you feel that loving someone requires you to make sacrifices and to deny your own needs and that love may not necessarily make you feel good and warm. While you are young, this attitude is likely to show up only as a feeling of unworthiness and shyness toward others, especially those who seem to like you. When you are older, you may have severe problems in love relationships, because you feel that you are only good enough for society’s losers, people who badly need help or have severe emotional problems. Or you may find someone who seems to be perfect, who will help you out of your problems, but later turns out to be a disappointment. You must learn to take a clear, objective view of the people you are attracted to and to realize that you deserve a positive love relationship as much as the other person does, for you are as worthwhile as anyone.
Comparing the Charts
Comparing the natal and ‘death’ charts shows that Elvis was destined to die when he did. Now, I’m sure that phrase may sound harsh to you, but hear me out. The aspects between these charts show another double Yod (Finger of God), this time between his natal Mercury and the ‘fatal’ Mars. That labels this event as an accidental overdose, as there was no intention to die, on his part. But the Sun/Saturn conjunction in Leo of the death chart is straddling the 9th House cusp of 21º Leo 21′ of his birth chart. I see that as a definite ‘exit’ point.
Finally, the ‘fatal’ Neptune transiting his natal Ascendant (1º apart) would ensure that his legacy would be forever in our hearts.
Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977)
Again, I never thought of doing Elvis’ astrological chart analysis until I saw Nick Merico on American Idol this week. Now, I wonder why I didn’t think to do it before.
As Elvis needs no introduction, I will start with his birth chart.
All the astrology sites with Elvis’ chart state that his time of birth is accurate. I can’t argue with that, since my own Kepler 7.0 program agrees. But it implies that by the time Elvis was 9 years of age, he was ready to take on the mantel of “The King”. And yet, when the Pluto ‘event’ is highlighted after age 42, it makes me wonder if the birth time is a little off.
At any rate, Elvis has a double Yod (Finger of God), which has the Saturn/Midheaven inconjunction in common. So let’s see what that means.
Saturn Inconjunct Pluto
Even under favorable circumstances, this aspect usually means that you are resistant to change, that you hold on to any situation, no matter how bad, until it is totally intolerable. Then when change does take place, it has to create a revolution and a total breakdown of everything that came before it. You must learn to adapt to circumstances a it mre gracefully and not be afraid of occasional compromise.
You may find it difficult to get along with others, because you are unnecessarily afraid of what they want from you. Learn to associate only with people whom you can trust.
Saturn Inconjunct Midheaven (x2)
This aspect indicates that you very much need a positive relationship withg your parents, especially your father. You should not be disciplined sternly unless you are given lots of love at the same time. Otherwise, giving and receiving love from others will be a real problem for the rest of your life. Unless you are truly supported by your family and friends, you will begin to feel lonely and isolated from others and inferior to them. Also you are likely to have very serious difficulties with authority figures, because you are afraid of how they will treat you, not expecting that anyone will ever give you the loving guidance you need. You will see all authorities only as potential threats to your freedom and as sources of pain and trouble.
Uranus Inconjunct Midheaven
You need to express your thoughts and feelings, but you often upset the people around you with your words. You seem to enjoy creating a stir every time you say something, but this can get you into quite a lot of trouble with parents, teachers and other authority figures. The underlying principle of this aspect is the need to balance your individual self-expression and manner of communicating with your need to learn and grow under the guidance of older people.
I bought this book to give to myself for my 70th birthday. The image on the cover was the draw. I’ve been tracking pentagrams (five-pointed stars) since my work on The Star of Bethlehemin 1996. In my view, they are signs of Christ’s presence here on earth.
What Chris Street has produced here is a London guide book for dowsers. This is a totally different way to ‘see’ the capital city. If your focus is on the more etheric, ephemeral side of life, this book will be right up your alley.
Usually, about now, I start to quote extensively from the book I’m reviewing. I’m not going to, here. Instead, I want to add a different point of view/different ley line image for you to consider. This book was produced in 2010. The 2012 Summer Olympics took place in London two years later. The logo of an abstract cyclist was iconic. What if I told you that the ley lines may have been the basis of that symbol?
Last night was the first episode of season 18 of American Idol. Nick Merico, who dropped out of last year’s contest due to a family crisis, auditioned again.
My first thought, which I’d had when Adam Lambert was on the show, years ago, was ‘here’s another Elvis Presley’. So I decided to look at Nick’s birth chart.
The timing is random, even the place is estimated, since he is Argentinian born, but raised in the States. And yet, the birth chart shows the promise of a great talent, if he can overcome his ego. Leo Rising might account for that superiority impression. And yet, when challenged by Lionel Richie, he didn’t crumble, he didn’t erupt in a rage, he humbly took the criticism and promised to work hard if put through to Hollywood again.
If the chart is accurate, the Sun/Ascendant inconjunction may help to explain this.
Sun Inconjunct Ascendant
Your relationships with other people can be very intense. While you ae young, they may be quite difficult, because you feel that others will accept you only if you deny yourself in some way. Or you may constantly feel you should put off doing what you want in order to do what you have to do. Usually your ideas about what you have to do come from the people around you. Also, contacts with other people will frequently force you to make serious, major psychological changes. Difficulties in your relationships with friends and family are signs of profound internal changes.
You may find that no matter how hard you try to show others who you really are, they misunderstand you somehow. This is because the angular relationship between your rising sign and Sun sign indicates that your internal energies are quite different from the energies that you show to the world. You are not intentionally dishonest with the world, you simply present a confusing complex of energies. As you get older, you will learn more about your effect on people, which will enable you to put the two sides of your personality together so that they work smoothly. Be patient and do not hurry. Look at each relationship as an opportunity to learn more about yourself through your effects upon others. You will know you have learned this when you no longer attract people who are psychologically difficult to deal with.
This real life mystery has been captivating the viewing public for four months now. Here is a link to NBC’s news about it.
This next video raises a few eyebrows (and questions): did they store the kids’ bodies here? If so, why did they move them again? If not, why do those parcels look so heavy?
Seeing the Lord’s Hand?
The overriding factor is the belief systems in play for the couple, who are waiting for Christ’s return in July 2020. Why 2020? The clue may be in the fact that it will be the 200th anniversary of Brigham Young’s revelation moment. So, what does that ‘event’ look like astrologically?
The timing is randomized. But the result is still significant. The Ascendant in Scorpio is opposite Uranus, the ‘quickener’. Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn are still conjunct in Capricorn, but now they are opposite the Sun which is in the first degree of Cancer. The Moon in Leo is inconjunct to Saturn, so I will concentrate on that aspect.
Moon Inconjunct Saturn
This aspect usually means that your need for emotional security conflicts with your need to live with the world’s demands. Each of us needs to be accepted and loved for what we are, in order to have enough self-confidence to deal with the world. But we also have to learn to live with our own life situations in order to survive. In other words, we have to realize that we can’t have everything we want. With this aspect, these two needs are working against each other. Probably you will satisfy one of them at the expense of the other.
Conclusion
It is one of the enduring mysteries that people will do strange things if they think they’re going to go to Heaven shortly. The Jonestown Massacre is a case in point. There have been others, over the years, so this is not a new phenomenon. And it’s not a lot different than what happened at Masada or Montségur.
When people want to exit the strange world we live in, they hope (and pray) for deliverance. And those that get in their way, or don’t believe as strongly about it, end up being ‘sacrificed’. After all, they will be ‘safer’ there (on the other side of life). One hundred and forty-four thousand people will be waiting for the day (whenever that should be) to meet their Saviour. But they cannot force God’s hand, no matter how devout they think they are.
