When a Memory Turns into a Nightmare, too

Requiem (continued)

DVD cover courtesy of Amazon

OK. We have finished watching this series on Netflix, so I am now going to discuss some aspects of it.

The watching of Requiem may be timely, in some ways: the 15 year anniversary of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is fast approaching. A suspect has finally been named by the Portuguese authorities, to keep the case alive (because of their statute of limitations). Madeleine was just turning four when she was abducted. The girl in this series was also very young when she disappeared.

But that’s not the real issue, here: the story is about a child being used by a group of individuals who were attempting to summon an archangel, using John Dee and Edward Kelley’s methods from the late 16th century. Evidently, the owner of the grand house where all this took place was a descendant of John Dee. And the clue, for me, was the hieroglyph on a marker in the garden, and other places nearby.

So, in some ways, this is personal.

And, as I have often stated on these posts, “Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.”

More News about Non-Binary Beings

Janelle Monáe (December 1, 1982)

2019

Well, that was totally unexpected: Janelle Monáe comes out as non-binary on Red Table Talk.

And just yesterday, I watched an automobile commercial that features Janelle, and wondered about her.

The name Audi is primarily a gender-neutral name of Latin origin that means Listen.

Hmm.

Well, according to what I’ve learned through this process of erecting birth charts for transgender and non-binary individuals, I should have seen this coming, but, as usual, 20/20 hindsight is perfect. Oh, well. But, it triggered a memory of another individual who has a similar T-square Sun/Moon/Ascendant.

Yeah, yeah, I know. Such sacrilege, eh? But consider the fact of the “Second Coming”: is this not interesting, at least?

When you compare Janelle’s birth chart with Jesus’ birth and death charts, we get some ‘connections’: Janelle’s Ascendant is conjunct Jesus’ natal Pluto; Janelle’s Mars is conjunct Jesus’ ‘fatal’ Neptune; Janelle’s South Node is conjunct Jesus’ ‘fatal’ Mars; Janelle’s Sun is conjunct Jesus’ ‘fatal’ Pluto; Janelle’s Uranus is conjunct Jesus’ ‘fatal’ South Node; Janelle’s Jupiter is conjunct Jesus’ natal Venus; and Janelle’s Pluto is within 4° of Jesus’ natal South Node. So, yes, they are connected…

When a Memory Turns into a Nightmare

Requiem (2018)

WARNING: Embargoed for publication until 00:00:01 on 05/05/2017 – Programme Name: Requiem – TX: n/a – Episode: Requiem – early release (No. n/a) – Picture Shows: ***EMBARGOED UNTIL 00.01 MAY 5TH 2017*** Matilda (LYDIA WILSON) – (C) New Pictures – Photographer: Adrian Rogers

We started watching this eerie series last night on Netflix. Ordinarily, I stay away from ‘gothic thrillers’ but this one has an interesting vibe to it: the classical music in the soundtrack.

.

In a way, I can understand what is happening to this young woman, but is it madness, or is it memory?

I won’t reveal anything further, for the moment. By the end of the sixth episode, I may say more.

A Collaboration that was Recorded on Music Videos

Bryan Adams (November 5, 1959) & Lysette Anthony (September 26, 1963)

Still from “Run To You” courtesy of Pinterest

I knew she was someone I was familiar with, but I’d forgotten her name, over the ensuing years: Lysette Anthony. She ‘starred’ (and was featured) in several of Bryan Adams‘ music videos in the early 80’s.

So, my reason for looking at these two individuals together is to get a sense of how their lives interact.

Bryan’s birth time is not known. I have rectified his chart to show when he exploded onto the music scene (Pluto). Obviously, this was his destiny. There is one inconjunct between the Moon and Uranus.

Again, Lysette’s birth time is not known, so I have rectified her chart to recognize two things: her becoming an actress (Neptune conjunct Ascendant); and her becoming well-known worldwide (Jupiter) @ age 16. Those two planets are linked together with an inconjunct.

Here are Their Combined Charts

Even though their Ascendants might not be totally accurate, it is heartening that their birth charts are so in harmony. Hence, the beautiful imagery (and chemistry) that show in the music videos.

Isn’t Astrology grand?

Writing Yourself into the History Books

Veni, Vidi, Vici

I remember reading The Gallic Wars by Julius Caesar in Latin in Grade 10. The above-noted statement cannot be found there. (And for those whose Latin is a bit rusty, it means “I came, I saw, I conquered.”)

(‘Veni, vidi, vici is a Latin phrase popularly attributed to Julius Caesar who, according to Appian, used the phrase in a letter to the Roman Senate around 47 BC after he had achieved a quick victory in his short war against Pharnaces II of Pontus at the Battle of Zela’).

Gumshoe News

Could Vladimir Putin be trying to do the same thing?

Unfortunately, Ukraine is going to be Putin’s footnote in history. And the whole world is witness to it.

From Latin Lover to Visible “Other” in Hollywood

Omar Sharif (April 10, 1932 – July 10, 2015)

We watched a short documentary about the life of Omar Sharif last night. Mostly, I knew the details of what happened to him over the years, but what I hadn’t realized was that he lived on his own from 1963 onward, That seems sad. (Oh, and the fact that he gambled all his money away, over and over again.)

.

This time is considered correct, and all the astrology sites use it. The proof of its accuracy comes with his arrival to Western cinema goers @ age 29-30 with the making of “Lawrence of Arabia” (Sun/Mercury/Uranus in Aries). He himself says that he had very many lucky breaks in showbusiness.

There is one Yod pointing at Neptune, formed by inconjuncts to Mars and Saturn.

Mars Inconjunct Neptune

With this aspect you must learn to stand up for yourself and demand your rights forthrightly and directly. Often you feel that you don’t have enough energy to assert yourself or that any such effort would be futile. Unfortunately, some people with this aspect learn to work behind the scenes or dishonestly. Others simply give up or take a defeatist attitude toward life.

Sometimes this aspect operates on the physical plane as well. You may have a generally low energy level and feel tired all the time but not able to sleep because of nervousness. You may actually need more sleep than others, and if so, you should try to get it. This aspect may also indicate that you tend to have allergies and infections.

Saturn Inconjunct Neptune

This aspect can have a variety of effects, one of which may be difficulty in relating fantasy and imagination, on one hand, to reality, duty, obligation and work, on the other. Usually the reality, duty and work aspect of the combination is dominant, at least at first. Your imaginative side tends to be transformed into nervousness, fear and irrational anxieties. The most negative manifestation of this aspect is a feeling that you have to keep a tight lid on yourself and that if you look inside yourself too closely, you will find only emptiness and disintegration. It is difficult for you to realize that this is not the truth about your inner self.

If you do not learn to confront your inner fears now, they may surface as chronic physical ailments, although that is not likely to be apparent early in life. If you can learn to release your creativity, you can avoid negative physical effects.

But what am I alluding to in the title of this post? As sometimes happens when I do a birth chart for someone, I am reminded of someone else from the past. It might seem like a logical conclusion, but where’s the proof?

Rudolph Valentino (May 6, 1895 – August 23, 1926)

I’m not going to discuss this prior life, or delineate the aspects. Let’s just cut to the chase, shall we?

The Nodal positions for both birth charts are within 6° of each other. Omar’s natal Moon is conjunct Rudolph’s ‘fatal’ Moon and his natal Neptune. Omar’s Part of Fortune is exactly 120° from Rudolph’s.

It’s not a lot, but it’s enough to show a connection between them.

What seems significant to me is that Omar Sharif wanted to sound even more British than the British. Rudolph’s voice was his weakest link (it precluded him from the “talkies”). That’s what I call a lesson well-learned and applied.

Some Final Words from Omar Sharif

What You Need to Know When Your Child is Aquarius

Astrology and Childhood (1999)

Cover courtesy of Goodreads

I’m going to do something a bit cheeky here: I’m going to quote the whole chapter from the book.

Your Aquarian baby may have given [you] trouble before he was born, but now he has arrived you simply won’t know how to handle him!

Aquarius is a Fixed Air sign, pointing towards inventiveness and communication. Always mentally alert, these junior Aquarians like to approach everything with such honesty and directness that at times it could strike absolute terror into your heart. Of all the signs of the zodiac, Aquarius is the one that conforms the least.

Discipline will be difficult to apply, for these youngsters can be disarmingly charming and eccentrically wayward. Highly inventive, although usually truthful, the Aquarian requires strong guidance in order to learn organisation and real common sense. You will need the patience of a saint to keep him out of trouble.

Aquarians are non-conformist at any age. Endearing individualists, they dislike routine and will investigate anything and everything right from the word go. On Monday he will play with his bricks; on Tuesday he may help with the housework while Wednesday will be given over to trying something new for himself. But heaven help you if you cannot find the bricks again on Thursday. And you won’t like Fridays, either.

A comfortable, preferably modern environment that allows as much freedom as possible is ideal for the young Aquarian. If he can have plenty of places to explore as well, so much the better. You will need to be very careful, though: even when only a toddler and still in his play-pen, this young chap is a born escape artist. A secure harness and reins are essential when out walking, otherwise he will be off the moment your back is turned.

Young Aquarians are easy to cater for as they will probably try almost any type of food, but if yours takes a dislike to one particular item, nothing will induce him to try even a mouthful. It is possible that he will take in a lot of liquids and prefers to snack rather than sit down to formal meals. It may, therefore, take a long time to train him into acceptable meal-time routines.

Aquarian boys become a law unto themselves at a very early age. If they secretly wish for well-ordered lives, they rarely seem to enjoy one. The girls are not greatly different, but have a happy knack of finding a suitably satisfying occupation when they become adults.

In the very early days, you will have your work cut out trying to understand from his cries for attention precisely what it is that your new baby wants. Unfortunately, there is no set answer. In the initials stages at least, you may be sure that he is demanding the usual services — but that is where it ends.

The Aquarian child is perverse, difficult and awkward to try to understand at any age. He gets bored very easily and needs a lot to keep his fertile little mind fully occupied. You will find that hanging plenty of small mobiles — preferably colourful and noisy — around his cot help to distract him at they move about, but swop them around or substitute others quite frequently. All Air sign children have an insatiable streak of curiosity so your choice of toys should reflect this.

The Aquarian child has a great need for constant change to keep his little mind from stagnating. He enjoys attention and will demand it from anyone prepared to give it. As a baby, he delights in just being near to someone, but it won’t last. While he succumbs to the restriction of a cuddle, he does not really enjoy it.

The Aquarian child needs more sleep than others. If woken before he has had enough, he may well have a nap or two later on. This is good since the longer he is awake, the more temperamental he becomes. Although he will enjoy a cat-nap, he does not like to miss anything.

Physical progress may well go in fits and starts. Often, a baby Aquarian will suddenly sit up as if he has been doing it all his short life. Overnight, it seems, he will master holding his toys and other objects with ease. Then, one day he just stands up and begins to walk and move around in much the same manner. Soon after he starts to walk and talk, he will select a favourite corner and play there quietly for long periods of time, totally absorbed with what interests him. Such behaviour in a toddler may be unsettling, but you will get used to it.

Some children like to be on their own, will play alone for hours and not seem to worry if others are about or not. It is typical of the Aquarian child, who is likely to carry on as if he were still alone even if another child is in his play-pen with him. He is not being awkward, but simply so totally absorbed with what he is doing that the rest of the world must carry on without him.

Your Aquarian child will learn to talk early — generally sooner than most — and start to acquire a wide vocabulary to make himself understood. He has a searching mind and will ask many questions on all sorts of subjects. Give him proper answers with full explanations and encourage him at all times.

Aquarian children are not really receptive to discipline at the best of times and throw a wobbly when something frustrates them. They resist anything that smacks of injustice.

These youngsters can display a rebellious streak that has to be seen to be believed. They are stubborn, perverse and awkward, but also practical. If you appeal to their logic, you may find yourself negotiating terms for their punishment. Should you insist on curtailing their freedom, you had better mean what you say, for this really hurts. If possible, he will try to talk you out of it — and can be very persuasive!

The Aquarian cherishes home comforts: he likes to feel safe and secure. He does not resent your use of safety gates or other ways of penning him in. If you leave one open by mistake, there is little to worry about: he may or may not go through it as the mood takes him. Take time to explain the dangers and he will understand. But be warned: should young Aquarius feel so inclined, he will scale anything to get what he wants. By the time he is about two years old, he will have been all over the house and picked up a few scars on the way. He is not accident-prone as such, but he has his moments.

Normally, his health is likely to be generally all right. Aquarians are in quite good shape, but tend to suffer from circulatory problems, so hardening of the veins and arteries is possible. Your child may also have a weak bone structure and suffer fractures through sheer carelessness.

Be careful with his diet. He can be very fussy and could for no apparent reason give up meat one week and dairy products the next. However, as a rule, light foods, salads and fresh fruit are always welcome. If he should decide he is off a particular sort of food, sneak in a vitamin supplement to balance his diet — he will not usually be clever enough to notice!

As he grows older, your Aquarian offspring has to learn to socialise with others, but this is an easy matter for any Air sign child. Of course, he has to learn to share, give and take, and allow others to play with his possessions, but it is unlikely to be a problem to him. He is not possessive, provided he does not want a particular item: anyone else can have it or use it. But when he desires something, you may be sure he will get it!

The Aquarian child is naturally sociable, but can be a little fixed in his views. He will welcome new faces into his circle of acquaintances, but like other Air signs his long-term acceptance of a friend depends very much on the first few minutes of their meeting. If things go wrong at that time, the association may never get off the ground. And once he has decided on an opinion or a course of action, the Aquarian rarely changes his mind.

Compatibility obviously starts in the home environment at a very early age. Here, perhaps more than anywhere, children are either taught or soon discover for themselves the delicate art of getting along with others. In many cases, this means learning to negotiate. A young Aquarian is open and friendly, but likes to give others the benefit of his often original and rather intriguing ideas. If other children do not always understand, they may well choose to leave him alone. However, if they do accept him, they quickly recognise that he has useful leadership qualities.

When needed, he may well become their spokesman. An Aquarian will thrive on this, for he knows how to negotiate. In the long run, this favours him. Of course, many factors have to be taken into account. One very important aspect is the position of the child in the family. When there is a brother or sister, the Aquarian child simply either accepts them or not. He can work or play with them as he wants.

As a younger sibling, little Aquarians are perfectly happy for as long as everything is shared equally. If not, they switch off and go and do their own thing. They will accept a properly balanced share of the bedroom, but would settle for the box-room instead. These early domestic circumstances will always have a bearing on the way a child learns to adapt. The attitudes and general bahviour patterns that he starts to develop now will eventually be carried forward into adult life, moderated slightly here and there as he matures.

The single Aquarian child always seems to be self-confident and can bluff with the best of them. When younger brothers or sisters come along, he will show you how easy it is to manoeuvre to get what he wants. As a second child, the Aquarian has slightly less confidence, but makes up for this with a little more aggression. This comes to the fore when he has to outshine his fellow siblings to prove himself. Here, he will often resort to bluff to gain his own way, a built-in second nature.

If allowed, the second child soon finds his niche, but of the sexes, Aquarian girls are far more positive and settle better as a second sibling. As the third child, our Aquarian youngster enjoys the challenge. He always has a few tricks up his sleeve and copes quite well with any rivalry with brothers and sisters as long as he is treated equally at all times. All ‘number three’ children have to work hard to make their mark on the world, but the Aquarian child is equal to it.

When he puts his mind to it, he can achieve anything he wants. He is reasonably adaptable and soon learns how to deal with his peers. Once he starts school, you should make his teachers aware of the way his mind works so they can then use their skills to hone his. With this kind of co-operation, he will become a good pupil and get along well with both teachers and peers. Much of this depends on whether the child is an introvert or an extrovert. Aquarians belong to neither group in the real sense.

They are open and friendly, but can be cranky if pushed too far. Aquarians select friends carefully and are quite self-sufficient until involved in an emotional relationship. Then their loyalties can become quite strained.

Karma: God Is Not Mocked

Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics

Trump, as Pinocchio

They call it ‘spin’. Too much makes everything spin out of control: January 6th, 2021, for example.

I’ve written about this affliction before. But the roots of it start early in childhood. Parents ask their son or daughter, “What happened?” The child realizes that the parents don’t know (which is a surprise, since they seem all powerful, all knowing, just like God). So to test that realization to its obvious conclusion, the child tells a ‘porky pie’ to the parents, and it is believed (sometimes). The seed of doubt is sown.

Lately, I’ve been watching TV programs which shows how far one will go to avoid being accused of murder. Even last night’s Dr. Phil episode revisited two tall tales from almost 10 years ago, which involved death of children by the hands of (or due to negligence by) a parent. In each case, the suspected murderer refused to take a polygraph test. That says a lot, right there. When cornered, no one wants to incriminate themselves by lying to a machine that detects evasive behaviour scientifically.

Maybe we should institute a similar ‘trial by machine’ for politicians who regularly tell tall tales, hoping to win the people over to their side of the story; then we could weed out the bad guys, before they get into government, rather than waiting until later and then needing to ‘drain the swamp.’

They say a narcissist has no conscience. His ‘me-first’ attitude may carry him a long way in life. But one day the narcissist will meet his maker. And after death, we are taught to fear being judged by God. But if one doesn’t believe in either God nor the Devil, what then? Ah, that’s the rub. The ‘maker’ in this case is the individual, himself. Yes, friends, he will judge himself from a spiritual perspective. So, then…

God is not mocked.

Meet the Author of “The New Astrology”:

Suzanne White (in her own words)

There are no birth details for this lady. She is probably too smart for that to be revealed. She was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, and then moved permanently to France in 1971.

Scorpio/Tiger

“I create” (water, Mars, Fixed) — “I watch” (Positive, Wood, Ying)

At the risk of being guilty of vest pocket autobiography, I confess that this sign is my very own. Moreover, I like my sign and have many friends of the same persuasion. Forgive me if I wax sentimental in this portrait.

First of all, I’ll tell you that all Scorpio/Tigers are excessive. They do everything to extreme. They never take life as it comes, but rather race out and try to head it off at the pass. They are constantly in dangerous situations, where they have plunked themselves deliberately. They never take their time and plan every detail, or write lists to be sure that every last mothball gets accounted for in the winter clothes. These people are hasty and hotheaded and really honestly quite mad. I call Scorpio/Tigers “blitz” people. They come screeching up to every new experience, gobble, slurp, inhale, consume, build, make, bake, scrape, paint, fix — and they’re off to the next challenge. Scorpios born in Tiger years are always trying to get three lives out of one.

The combination of Scorpio’s dark magnetism and Tiger’s swaggering ditto makes this subject fairly fascinating to other people. This translates into Scorpio/Tigers being quite popular among their peers. People look up to this character and Scorpio/Tiger loves to be looked up to, told how wonderful he is and, in return for admiration and approval, goes to great lengths to continue to be wonderful so the clapping never dies down. Scorpio/Tigers are egomaniacal. But they’re nice about it.

These headstrong characters are automatic leaders. But they are not exactly crazy about being leaders. Scorpio/Tigers know how to do a lot of different things and tend to be jacks-of-all-trades. The dream of this contrary soul, then, is to do one thing well. Scorpio/Tiger is a proud person. But he rankles at his own tendency toward pride and is constantly kicking himself in the derrière, saying, “Be more humble. Don’t get carried away. Shrink your head to normal size.” And, worst of all, Scorpio/Tigers are fighters. They are ferocious and even dangerous as adversaries. They are rancorous and bloodthirsty. But they hate being so mean. They long to be nicer.

Now that you understand the basic Tiger/Scorpio schizophrenia, I will tell you what they need to do so as not to die young: Scorpio/Tigers must gain wisdom at an early age. This wisdom will not come from within. It will always be delivered by an outside source. Scorpio/Tigers must keep their floppy little ears clean and listen carefully to the wise people in their lives. Spunk they have. Sagacity they don’t. When this person finally learns reason and temperance, he can move any mountain he comes upon with a single switch of his tail. Without common sense and measure this person is a goner.

Once the Scorpio/Tiger has assimilated levelheadedness as a way of life, he or she can go very far indeed. These people boast a certain brilliance, possess panache to burn and are competent in the extreme. There is nothing you cannot trust to them. They are self-starters, pushy but congenial, and they’ll battle to the death with injustice. Scorpio/Tigers hate rules unless they make them themselves. They always think they know best. They are hotheaded, jealous and ruthless when crossed. They don’t mind brute force but they hate trickery. Scorpio/Tigers stalk dishonesty in the dark of night.

What Happens When We Combine Two Astrologies?

The New Astrology (1987)

“East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet.”

(from ‘The Ballad of East and West’ by Rudyard Kipling)

It’s a truism that has stood the test of time. But that doesn’t stop someone like Suzanne White from attempting the impossible. Her book, shown above, is an interesting hybrid (like a car that runs of two different energies, gasoline and electricity). To demonstrate, I shall quote from the book re: myself.

Aquarius/Ox

“I know” (Air, Saturn/Uranus, Fixed) — “I preserve” (Negative, Water, Yin)

A strong-minded and loving bully, the Aquarian born in Ox years is destined to a lifetime of slog and struggle uphill against his own unwillingness to conform. Oxen, as you know, always think that the road to happiness is through retirement from the hub of popular activity. Oxen want to be left alone in the country somewhere. Aquarius is more affable, outgoing, flexible, less tundralike than the Ox. Their marriage can be a rocky one.

Basically, the Ox does not agree with his flighty Aquarian side. And the Aquarian? Well, he sort of doesn’t give a damn. Aquarius is the out-of-this-world fantasy person whose spirit is almost as monumentally elastic as the Ox’s is rigid. The cool-headed Aquarian who never gets lost in trivial emotion is here suddenly confronted by his own tendency toward bigotry and stick-in-the-mudness. The result? Grumpiness. Moods. Suppressed anger. Bitterness. Feigned apathy about almost everything and everybody. The image, then, of one of a fiercely productive person who appears not to give two hoots. His “like it or lump it” attitude lives very close to the feisty surface. This person cannot hide his belligerence.

What saves our character from stewing for too long in his own acrid juice is a razor-sharp sense of humor. The Aquarius/Ox is a great story-teller, a stunning performer, and a laugh-a-minute companion. He benefits from an excellent memory for detail, and can grip your attention for hours with just one anecdote about his cousin from Tours who rides a unicycle. Ordinarily boring stories become jewel-studded tales from the Arabian Nights. When the eloquence of the Ox meets with Aquarius’s originality of thought, the result is Scheherazade.

Too, the Aquarian profits from being brought to earth by his Ox side. Oxen of no matter what profession know how to apply the work ethic. Aquarians long to be free and roam about dreaming up the undreamed-of. This person will never stop working until he or she drops. Work, for the Aquarius/Ox, no matter how thankless or routine, represents salvation. Work keeps one from flying too close to the sun.

The Aquarius/Ox doesn’t bother with social approval. He cares not for judgments coming from people he considers beneath him anyway. This character blazes his own trails in life by slow and sure methods, keeping the zippy Aquarian mind operating at full tilt and never letting up on the elbow grease for a second. Of course, people become inflamed at this creature’s brutish determination. But as they are almost never as dutiful and laborious as he, they must concede Aquarius/Ox the victor, hands down all around.

Despite the Aquarius/Ox’s uncanny talent for work, he or she will surprise you by exhibiting a silly side. The Aquarius/Ox loves to have fun. He or she will cook and decorate and stay up trimming trees till four A.M. for the sake of communal joy. The self-sacrificing person he or she is, although it doesn’t carry overmuch into the world at large, will animate many a soiree and fill many little hearts with delight. The Aquarius/Ox’s imagination for surprises and goodies is enormous, and it is generous, too.
