I knew I should have slept on it, overnight. There was always something about Adele’s makeup that reminded me of Judy Garland, but I couldn’t put my finger on it: the heavy eyeliner and red lipstick.
It wasn’t until I saw a photo of Adele without either, published on her 33rd birthday, that the penny dropped. And I’m not the only one to finally make this connection:
Adele’s latest album 30, which is her first in six years, has been heralded by critics as the singer’s best work, as her “ferociously” honest tracks recalled the likes of Judy Garland and Gene Kelly from the golden age of Hollywood.
But will the comparison stand up to astrological scrutiny?
The most obvious link is between Adele’s and Judy’s natal Ascendants: only 1° apart (and Judy’s ‘fatal’ Sun is within 5°, conjunct Judy’s natal Mercury). Judy’s ‘fatal’ North and South Nodes are within 5° of Adele’s. Adele’s Sun/Jupiter aspect is conjunct Judy’s ‘fatal’ Venus, while Judy’s ‘fatal’ Midheaven and her natal Moon are conjunct Adele’s Moon/Saturn/Uranus combination. But is that enough ‘proof’?
The body image difference is startling. Judy developed anorexia in her later years, fearing the fact that her fans might abandon her if she gained weight. Adele doesn’t care what anyone else thinks of her body size. That makes this an interesting progression of thought between two (connected) lives. If you add it up, this makes sense, as does the fact that Judy loved being in England. The connection is clear.
The quote from Monty Python’s “And Now For Something Completely Different” is so apt these days, even here on WordPress. On a good day, I might get one or two totally unconnected comments (as in, unconnected to the subject mater of my post). On a bad day, I might get a dozen paragraphs in Cyrillic script, exactly the same but attached to different posts. Who do these spammers think they’re fooling?
Fortunately, WordPress isolates spam comments, for later review and deletion, but it makes me wonder why the spam is even posted in the first place. Do they think it will be approved, in spite of the fact that there is obviously an ulterior motive? Evidently, they come to the posts through some kind of back door, because there are no statistics of the spammers having visited the posts they comment on.
So, each time a spam comment is left behind, I block the user from leaving any more comments before I delete the remark. Eventually, the spammers will run out of aliases, or at least I hope so.
In the world today the norm is to rush around seeking activity of some kind or other, filling the air with noise and other distractions. To be still should be the easiest thing in the world, but most people measure their own worth with the amount they can fit into each day.
There are periods of life when duties and responsibilities take priority, but, for your own wellbeing, finding time just to sit in peace and quiet will feed the spirit and calm the nerves and provide balance.
Active meditation is not a requirement, for in stillness you are open to the clarity of thinking and you become aware of your own innate knowledge. To be centred in your own being will provide nourishment for your soul. It is the greatest gift you can give yourself, and the more you do it the more complete you will feel.
It only takes a few minutes daily just to turn inwards and remember that you are important, and allow the mind to wander.
I’m coming to the end of XPD, so I thought I should look at Len Deighton, StarLogically. As you might expect, no one knows what time he was born, nor has any astrology site tackled his birth chart. So here goes.
This was a hard one to pin down and rectify. The energies are close for linking with events in his life, but not exact. At age 11 (Pluto in Cancer) he witnessed the arrest of a spy his mother worked for. At age 33 (Neptune in Virgo), he published his first book, “The IPCRESS File”. That places Mercury in the 12th House, conjunct to the Ascendant in Aquarius, and I think that’s why he hated writing. As a result of this rectified timing, his Ascendant and Pluto are inconjunct.
Pluto Inconjunct Ascendant
This can be an indication that through experiences with others, you will be forced to undergo many significant changes in life. At times the crises may be quite unpleasant, but for the most part the results will be very positive, although for some people, they may be less constructive. But you must be very careful about the kind of people you get involved with. Choose your friends with great care and try to find people who have a healthy outlook on life and who seem reasonably well balanced. People who are driven to extreme behavior or who act compulsively, as if they could not plan anything in advance, are not very good for you. They will get you into difficult situations that you do not need.
Mercury in the Twelfth House
You are fond of secrets and often keep your thoughts hidden from others, because you feel it is better if they don’t know what you’re thinking. Just be careful that you don’t make this attitude so plain that people start distrusting you, even when there is no reason to. Unfortunately, this position may mean that you are afraid to tell people your ideas because you think they are no good or that everyone will disagree with them
Mercury Conjunct Ascendant
You are probably quite restless and always wanting to be on the move. Your mind changes course very quickly, and you go from idea to idea. Be careful, however, because you could become a person who knows a little about many areas, but not enough about any one subject. Avoid being shallow and try to develop enough self-discipline to stay with a subject or project long enough to get something lasing from it.

I never knew that Deighton liked to cook, which is why it surprised me to see Michael Caine show some culinary skills in the first Harry Palmer film. Now I understand why. Deighton’s mother was a cook.
Deighton also wrote five cookery books, and wrote and drew the cookstrips in The Observer for four years. Several of the strips are pinned up in the background of the film set of Harry Palmer’s kitchen in The Ipcress File. In January 2015 Deighton created 12 new cookstrips which were printed monthly in the Observer Food Magazine.

How glad we are that you have chosen to be part of the forward swell into the dawning light. We would wish to emphasize that you will need the commitment and dedication to the continued release of the blockages and restrictions that you have imposed upon yourselves.
At this stage it is very easy to slide back into matter and into veiled thinking, so be alert to the possibilities of some backward sliding. But, as long as you remain aware and open to all the potential and possibilities the Universe has to offer you, you will be able to go forward in the constant reclaiming of all that is your own.
You now have the ability to put forward new ideas and realisations, and to present them to others, for many are now ready to accept wider possibilities in their living. This is a total speculative post: this morning, I was trying to imagine who Adele might have been in a past life and I got a list of candidates. Peggy Lee, Dusty Springfield (both died after Adele was born), even Maria von Trapp. But the key, in my estimation, would be the level of popularity Adele has, and that means probably someone like Rita Hayworth, who died in May 1987, one year before Adele’s birth.
This birth chart was already on my Kepler 7.0 program, so I’m going with it. That Yod pointing at the Moon @ 26° Pisces seems significant, as the Moon represents popularity in the entertainment industry.
Sun Inconjunct Moon
This aspect suggests that there is a subtle conflict going on inside you that may sometimes create emotional problems. The Sun signifies your conscious personality, the way in which you act and the kinds of activities that you like to get involved in. The Moon signifies the emotional and less conscious side of you. It indicates the habits that take over when you are not acting consciously and feelings that come up from deep inside you. The inconjunct aspect between the Sun and Moon means that the Sun part of your personality is quite different from the Moon part, and it may be hard for you to relate them to each other. It is as if you are divided in two, so that whenever you have to make an important decision, especially one that involves your feelings, the different sides of your personality want to go in opposite directions. You sometimes find it difficult to decide if you like something or if you want to take part in some activity.

As you grow older, you will have to learn to make your feelings and your reason work together. The problem is not so much that they come into conflict with each other, but that your reason and feelings represent two very different sides of your personality. When you are calm and collected and able to reflect carefully, you make decisions in one way. This aspect usually means that your need for emotional security conflicts with your need to live with the world’s demands. Each of us needs to be accepted and loved for what we are, in order to have enough self-confidence to deal with the world. But we also have to learn to live with out own life situations in order to survive. In other world, we have to realize that we can’t have everything we want. With this aspect, these two needs are working against each other. Probably you will satisfy one of them at the expense of the other.
Comparing Adele’s Chart to Rita’s Birth and Death Charts
Because Rita’s natal Pluto is conjunct Adele’s Ascendant in Cancer, the connection is cosmic, in my assessment. The slow-moving planets in Rita’s death chart totally match Adele’s. Adele’s natal Sun is within 6° of Rita’s Ascendant in Taurus. And Rita’s ‘fatal’ Mars is conjunct Adele’s natal Venus in Gemini. Finally, Rita’s natal Moon (remember the Yod?) is within 6° of Adele’s natal North Node. Hmm.
Conclusion
The ‘proof’ is not totally conclusive, but there are touches of connection between them. It would be interesting if Adele had any opinion on the matter, but I am mindful of the comment she made to Oprah about not looking up to anyone for their bodily looks, so this may never be accepted.
(And just for laughs, here’s the comparison of Adele’s chart with those of Maria von Trapp…)

There are no limits in the performance of any enterprise. Life on this planet has been given free-will and the opportunity to take any and all paths that potentiality provides; one thing leads to another.
Wisdom comes through the lessons provided, from decisions made, and only from a peaceful standpoint can clarity come to understand the probable consequences of decisions, and only from that peaceful place can sense be made. Through the example you set of inner peace and refusal to buy into fear, can you serve the planet, regarding the disruption that is part of the birthing of the New Order. Many will charge around proclaiming doom and, in so doing, add to the panic many are feeling. The planet will not be destroyed through the folly and warmongering of those in authority.
People need to notice and be involved in the political happenings and use their weight of numbers to control the impulses of those who strive to power for themselves. All need to learn and understand how joint consciousness will be the route towards a peaceful future for humanity, when the common good is the aim and not the aggrandisement of the few. The sharing of wealth can be the only way forward and there is enough for everyone.
Wilful destruction does not help in the long term and protest through violence tends to harden resistance. Quiet action is the most powerful tool against the loudest voices, when discussion does not work. Stand in silence and vote when called to, working with the wish and joint consciousness of the many.
Like the rest of the known North American world, we watched “Adele: One Night Only” last night. At many levels, it was a revelation, especially the Oprah interview parts.
At one point Oprah raised the question about Adele deciding at age 7 that she didn’t want to live with her family anymore. That perked my attention. A-ha, says I, what would that look like in her chart?
Two birth chart websites have this time of birth for Adele, so I decided to go with it, just to see what would ‘pop out’ at me. And there it was: Pluto @ 11° Scorpio at the age (7) she would have been when that idea suddenly occurred to her. So, that tells me this birth time is accurate for our purposes, here.
Adele also stated that when her father died in the spring of this year, the hurt that she’d felt all her life was suddenly healed, like a gaping hole closing up. I looked to see where Chiron was in her chart, and it is conjunct Venus @ 25° Gemini in the 12th House, within 10° of her Ascendant @ 5° Cancer. This is significant, in so many ways.
The Moon is at the age she was when Adele 19 came out. Uranus is at the age when Adele 21 came out. Neptune is at the age when Adele 25 came out. Do you see a pattern here? Saturn is in that sensitive point between 21 and 25, so her ‘father issues’ would have suddenly appeared. All of these planets are opposed to the Ascendant. Venus and Chiron are opposed to the Moon and Uranus. Isn’t life grand?
