From Humble Beginnings, He has Stayed Humble

Sir Anthony Hopkins (December 31, 1937)

The reason for this post? I caught a short video posted by Sir Anthony Hopkins on Facebook, celebrating his latest birthday on December 31st.

The timing of this birth chart is considered by most websites to be good: my own computer program suggested 10:30 am, but I’m sticking with the majority, since the 12th House Sun and Mercury (in Capricorn) are what allows him to be such a great actor. I call him buttoned-down because of them (and his Ascendant, of course). He has one inconjunct:

Venus Inconjunct Pluto

With this aspect you must learn a great deal about the kinds of friends you want and the kinds of experiences you will have through other people. Even while you are still young, you may meet persons who are quite difficult to get along with, but who seem to be impossible to get away from, even when you want to. You may be fascinated by such persons, or circumstances may force you to stay with them. These people do have a definite role to play in your life, but it may not always be a pleasant one. They will teach you something about life or about yourself.

(Olivier, O’Toole, Burton…hmm.)

Amen.

A “Light Bulb” Moment is:

(Literally) an Epiphany (Today @ 12:45 am)

It’s a strange sensation when you have to get up in the night (to let the dog have a drink of water) and as you lay down again, a thought occurs: today is Jesus’ birthday. He is 2,027 years old!

With all the talk on the American news channels about today being the first anniversary of the insurrection in Washington, DC, one can be forgiven for letting the original meaning of Epiphany slip by, without a recognition of the fact that the Three Wise Men (the Magi) proclaimed Jesus’ birth to the world all that time ago. (They too used astrology to reveal their truth.)

The interactive Yod is pointing to the event’s Midheaven @ 20° Cancer. My Sun and Ascendant are the inconjuncts to it. Also inconjunct are my Mars/South Node and the event’s Uranus. And finally, my Pluto is inconjunct the event’s Sun.

I suspect the breakthrough energies are the event’s Ascendant transiting my natal Neptune, the event’s Mars transiting my Ascendant, and the event’s Mercury transiting my natal Venus. Wow!

This might not seem a big deal to anyone else, but it is to me. I feel I’ve finally woken up from a deep sleep.

The Difference between “Right” and “Almost Right”?

Discernment

Nothing is ever ‘black and white’. Most of the time it’s a shade of gray. In today’s world, truth is often obscured by media spin, which ultimately intends to influence your ‘normal’ frames of reference.

Last night’s “Dr. Phil” episode (a repeat from last year), about a Christian woman’s concern that her daughter-in-law is a witch who has estranged her son from his family, reminded me that everyone wants to be ‘right’. Dr. Phil’s response is “Do you want to be right, or do you want to be in your son’s family life again?” That is a perfectly reasonable question. Too often being right is more important.

But I digress. My point is that, when we use our reasoning powers and not our hearts, we may fall victim to manipulation. But how can we know whether something is true or not?

Was Rommel “The Swan King” in a Past Life?

Ludwig II of Bavaria (August 25, 1845 – June 13, 1886)

Circa 1874

A fellow astrologer-blogger has linked the life of this King to Erwin Rommel. Does his hypothesis hold up to astrological scrutiny?

As you might expect the birth chart of this royal has a Yod, pointing at Mercury from inconjuncts to Mars and Neptune on one side and Pluto on the other. So, he might well have been mad, as his other nickname “The Fairy Tale King” implies. He was the one to build many beautiful Bavarian castles, even when he could not afford to.

He may well have been murdered.

He was just 40 years old when he died suspiciously.

Speculation exists that Ludwig was murdered by his enemies while attempting to escape from Berg. One account suggests that the king was shot. The King’s personal fisherman, Jakob Lidl (1864–1933), stated, “Three years after the king’s death I was made to swear an oath that I would never say certain things – not to my wife, not on my deathbed, and not to any priest … The state has undertaken to look after my family if anything should happen to me in either peacetime or war.” Lidl kept his oath, at least orally, but left behind notes that were found after his death. According to Lidl, he had hidden behind bushes with his boat, waiting to meet the king, to row him out into the lake, where loyalists were waiting to help him escape. “As the king stepped up to his boat and put one foot in it, a shot rang out from the bank, apparently killing him on the spot, for the king fell across the bow of the boat.” However, the autopsy report indicates no scars or wounds were found on the body of the dead king; on the other hand, many years later, Countess Josephine von Wrbna-Kaunitz would show her afternoon tea guests a grey Loden coat with two bullet holes in the back, asserting it was the one Ludwig was wearing. Another theory suggests that Ludwig died of natural causes (such as a heart attack or stroke) brought on by the cool water (12 °C) of the lake during an escape attempt.

Comparing Rommel’s Birth Chart with Ludwig II’s Charts

Yes, well, what do you know? There are sufficient links to prove my fellow astrologer to be correct. (I wonder how he gets his hints?) Rommel’s Sun is conjunct Ludwig’s fatal Moon and natal North Node. Rommel’s Jupiter is conjunct Ludwig’s fatal South Node and his natal Midheaven. Rommel’s Saturn is conjunct Ludwig’s fatal Jupiter and natal Mercury/Venus conjunction. There are other individual links, but these should suffice our curiosity.

A lesson well-learned.

It was the Best Day of Her Life

The Wedding of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson (July 23, 1986)

You might think that a royal wedding is the fairy tale ending for all young women. Well, judging by the photos of Charles and Diana, Andrew and Sarah, Harry and Meghan you might think so, too, but then the reality sets in, after they close their bedroom doors, later.

The first and obvious thing to notice is the Sun/Mercury conjunction @ 0° Leo in the 10th House of Career. This was, for all intents and purposes, a wedding to take peoples’ minds off any potential scandals brewing in the House of Windsor. But it had a trio of inconjuncts which ‘almost’ formed a Yod.

Sun Inconjunct Moon

This aspect suggests that there is a subtle conflict going on inside uou that may sometimes create emotional problems. The Sun signifies your conscious personality, the way in which you act and the kinds of activities that you like to get involved in. The Moon signifies the emotional and less conscious side of you. It indicates the habits that take over when you are not acting consciously and feelings that come up from deep inside you. The inconjunct aspect between the Sun and Moon means that the Sun part of your personality is quite different from the Moon part, and it may be hard for you to relate them to each other. It is as if you are divided in two, so that whenever you have to make an important decision, especially one that involves your feelings, the different sides of your personality want to go in opposite directions. You sometimes find it difficult to decide if you like something or if you want to take part in some activity.

But a much more difficult problem arises if you decide that one of these personalities is good and the other bad, so that you try to repress and hold down any behavior from the “bad” side. Unfortunately, that only makes it more difficult to handle that side, so that you have intense urges to do things that you think you should not do. You begin to act in ways that betray the image of yourself that you are trying to build up.

The only solution is to accept both sides of your personality, for they are both you, and it is important to express them both. It is only your attitude of rejection that makes one side good and the other side bad.

Moon Inconjunct Mercury

It may be hard for you to put your feelings into words, because your emotions are so different from your intellect. Of course, there is nothing really strange about your feelings, but that part of your mind is quite different from the reasoning part. In fact it would be very unfortunate if you decided to listen only to your reason, because your intuition and imagination, both of which are more related to the Moon, can be of great assistance to you. They can tell you much about the world that your reasoning mind cannot.

Uranus Inconjunct Midheaven

You need to express your thoughts and feelings, but you often upset people around you with your words. You seem to enjoy creating a stir every time you say something, but this can get you into quite a bit of trouble with parents, teachers and other authority figures. The underlying principle of this aspect is the need to balance your individual self-expression and manner of communicating with your need to learn and grow under the guidance of older people.

(I know that a marriage between two people is about them both, but in this case would seem to be about Sarah, alone: interesting.)

That kiss…

Now let’s look at how this event affected the two marriage partners, but from Sarah’s perspective.

First things first: the interactive Yod between Andrew and Sarah is pointing at Sarah’s Moon. Andrew’s Pluto (@ 5° Virgo) and his Neptune (@ 9° Scorpio) are the inconjuncts to her Moon (@ 6° Aries). This means that their relationship exacerbates her insecurities.) And I never noticed before that Andrew’s Sun is exactly 0° Pisces, conjunct the event Moon. Hmm.

I suspect that Sarah and Andrew have been married before: her Mars is within 1° of the event South Node. Andrew’s Midheaven is conjunct the event North Node. And all three Parts of Fortune are conjunct in Taurus. Maybe that’s why they still live together after being divorced more than 25 years ago. Such constancy in a world of upset may be due to Sarah’s need for financial security.

How the Other Royal Wife was Discarded

Sarah, Duchess of York

This could have been called a tale of two sisters-in-law. Sarah (Andrew’s wife) and Diana (Charles’ wife). They both were divorced, but only one lost her royal status. I wonder why (although it’s probably because Dodi Fayed may have been a little too keen to become connected to the House of Windsor).

Let’s look at Sarah’s birth chart:

How’s that for a Yod (Finger of God)? Sarah’s mother leaving the marriage home messed Sarah’s life up gloriously when Sarah was around 12. She started to comfort eat, a very common reaction.

Moon Inconjunct Mercury

As you grow older, you will have to learn to make your feelings and your reason work together. The problem is not so much that they come into conflict with each other, but that your reason and feelings represent two different sides of your personality. When you are calm and collected and able to reflect carefully, you make decisions in one way. But when you are emotionally involved in a situation, you are likely to make up your mind very differently, which could cause you to seem inconsistent to others and make it difficult for them to understand you.

Moon Inconjunct Venus

You need to be loved, even more than most people, particularly by your mother or another woman who takes the place of your mother. This need for love will be the force behind many of your actions. If you don’t find the love you are looking for, you will develop an insecure hunger for love from everyone you meet. However, you may express this in very strange ways, such as a desire for food, especially sweets, which unconsciously represent love to you.

Moon Inconjunct Neptune

People with this aspect often hide their real feelings and make sacrifices for others that they do not really want to make. Then they resent the person who asked for the sacrifice. You must learn to tell people how you really feel; if you do not, you have only yourself to blame for what happens. You must learn to accept that you are responsible for your own life. Do not act as if you are the victim of strong forces that you can’t control, because you can control them.

Moon Inconjunct Pluto

This aspect means that your emotions are very intense and not always easy to deal with. Often your feelings make you want to do or say something without knowing why. Also you may have very intense moods in which you withdraw from those around you into a world of your own. This should not be a very serious problem unless you have been brought up to have all sorts of fears and worries. In that case your actions will be driven by your fears, and you may behave quite strangely. If you do not feel accepted and emotionally supported at home, you may constantly feel guilty for what you think you have done to others, or jealous that people aren’t paying enough attention to you, or generally possessive of those around you.

Moon Inconjunct Midheaven (this aspect is shared with Andrew)

You need to feel that your family, especially your parents, give you consistent and reliable emotional guidance and support. Without it, you may easily feel that you are being pulled in two directions, which can only result in going nowhere.

The decree nisi was granted on 17 April 1996 and the divorce was finalised on 30 May 1996, after which she legally retained the style Her Royal Highness with the style of other divorced peeresses. However, it was announced in April that Sarah had chosen not to use the style Her Royal Highness and would relinquish it under the divorce terms. In accordance with letters patent issued in August 1996 regulating post-divorce royal titles, Sarah formally ceased being a Royal Highness and was re-styled Sarah, Duchess of York.

Wikipedia

It’s no surprise that their marriage was in trouble when she and Andrew only saw each other for 40 days a year in the first five years of their life together. A Moon in Aries individual that needy would not want to wait forever for things to get better.

Why, indeed?

Can a Royal be Successfully Sued for Sex Crimes?

Prince Andrew, Duke of York (February 19, 1960)

It’s a given fact: royalty have always thought they were above the law, especially when one is the favourite son of a reigning monarch. And who would the jury of his peers be, more Peers of the Realm? Even the jurisdiction issue is unsettled: the crimes were committed outside of the United Kingdom. How is anyone going to enforce legal judgements on Prince Andrew? What a mess…

Now, before I start, let me remind you, the reader, that a Venus/Mars conjunction in the birth chart is an indication of a love/hate relationship with the opposite sex. And the placement of this conjunction in Andrew’s birth chart says that this came into play when he was between 17 and 18 years of age. In other words, his first love was complicated. That’s probably why the British tabloid press nicknamed him “Randy Andy”. You can draw your own conclusions about his marriage to Sarah Ferguson.

Moon Inconjunct Midheaven

Work very hard to develop an objective awareness of what you are doing and where you are going. You will need this understanding to guide your emotions, which might otherwise lead you astray and make it difficult for you to focus on your goals. Even though you won’t have to choose a career or a purpose in life for many years, you can learn now to have good perception, which will make it easier to choose later on. Learn to see others’ points of view, even if you cannot accept them. Learn to make logical decisions, and do not let passing moods color your attitudes about yourself and your life too much.

Mercury Inconjunct Uranus

You mind moves quickly from topic to topic, often without pausing long enough for you to understand what you have learned. And if there is a lot of excitement or activity around you, your mind may race so fast to keep up with it all that you work yourself into a state of nervous frenzy. Under these circumstances it is almost impossible for you to concentrate or do any useful mental work.

(This implies that, yes, he does ‘sweat’.)

I rest my case, m’lord.

So, Who was Elon Musk in a Past Life?

Thomas Edison (February 11, 1847 – October 18, 1931)

The facial features are similar, are they not?

Again, Ahtun Re has suggested that these two are related reincarnationally. The reason for suggesting that is in answer to the obvious question: why wouldn’t he be Tesla, instead? After all, he has paid homage to the man by naming his car after him. Hmm.

The ‘normal’ time on most astrological websites is 6:30 am. That time represents dawn (or close to it) on the day Elon Musk was born. One intrepid astrologer rectified Musk’s birth time to 20:42:36 and I’m going along with that. Why? Because the North Node is conjunct the Aquarius Ascendant; he’s another child protege. And the Mars conjunction to both gives him the energy to pursue his goals.

Venus Inconjunct Midheaven

You are very likely to feel there is a conflict between what you ought to do in a particular situation and what would be acceptable to the people around you. Often your friendships come into conflict with your parents’ intentions for you, which is difficult to resolve. Later in life, you may see your job, career or profession as a part of your life that is quite separate from your personal relationships with loved ones. This may cause you to neglect one area in favor of the other, instead of trying to create a balance between them.

This same pattern of thinking may make you believe that you must sacrifice pleasure and enjoyment in order to achieve anything worthwhile in life. Here again you cannot afford to let either aspect of your life triumph over the other. Especially as you get older, you should make a conscious effort to find ways to enjoy yourself, be with your friends and love ones and, at the same time, move toward your goals.

Comparing Musk’s Birth Chart with Edison’s Charts

I think the strongest link between these two is the Mars/North Node/Ascendant in Musk’s chart being totally echoed in Edison’s natal Sun/Mercury conjunction. Musk’s South Node is conjunct Edison’s ‘fatal’ Jupiter in Leo. There are other links, but I won’t bore you with the details; just look for yourself.

So, Who Did Tesla Reincarnate As?

Saul Perlmutter (September 22, 1959)

According to Kevin Ryerson’s Ahtun Re, Nikola Tesla came back as Saul Perlmutter. In a way, that makes total sense. Working alone didn’t get Tesla very far, so his next life would clearly need help from others. But does it add up, astrologically?

This timing is randomized. I’ve left it alone, since the Moon is (again) near conjunction with the Descendant in Gemini. It also creates a Yod (Finger of God) pointing at the Moon.

Moon Inconjunct Saturn

This aspect usually means that your need for emotional security conflicts with your need to live with the world’s demands. Each of us needs to be accepted and loved for what we are, in order to have enough self-confidence to deal with the world. But we also have to learn to live with our own life situations in order to survive. In other words, we have to realize that we can’t have everything we want. With this aspect, these two needs are working against each other. Probably you will satisfy one of them at the expense of the other.

Comparing Perlmutter’s Birth Chart with Tesla’s Charts

So, just to be fair, I’m not seeing the connections that I would expect between these two individuals. Can Ahtun Re be wrong? I had a better feeling about Tesla and our new wunderkind Champ Jaxon:

Those with eyes that see would probably agree with me.

Hmm.

And Speaking of Child Proteges…

Nikola Tesla (July 10, 1856 – January 7, 1943)

Circa 1890

There has to be some method behind the timing of hints that I’m given. In this case, yesterday’s post about Champ Jaxon featured a randomized birth chart which fixed his North Node conjunct the Ascendant. Then I started working on Nikola Tesla‘s birth chart, which features a similar aspect.

So, is that the proof of the ‘child protege’? (This chart is a bit different than most of the ones featured on astrology websites: theirs are timed for 12 midnight, mine is half-an-hour before. If the 12 midnight time is used, that would equate to 23.5 hours earlier than mine, so everything will seem the same, except the Moon.)

Moon Inconjunct Uranus

Your relationship with your mother may be rather unstable. She may be very involved in her own interests, which prevent her from being as close to you as she would be otherwise. She may be an unconventional person, a real free spirit. The problem is that your feelings about her are mixed, both loving and unloving. You may secretly resent her. Probably you don’t feel that you can express this consciously, but it could come out when you are angry or upset. Certainly this will result in not wanting to form close relationships with other people, especially women. And the people you do choose as close friends are likely to be exciting and different from anyone you have known in the past. However, they may also be rather upsetting.

Tesla’s mother, Đuka Mandić (1822–1892), whose father was also an Eastern Orthodox Church priest, had a talent for making home craft tools and mechanical appliances and the ability to memorize Serbian epic poems. Đuka had never received a formal education. Tesla credited his eidetic memory and creative abilities to his mother’s genetics and influence.

Wikipedia – Early Life

Nikola Tesla’s last message to his mother: “All these years that I had spent in the service of mankind brought me nothing but insults and humiliation.”

Mars Inconjunct Neptune

With this aspect you must learn to stand up for yourself and demand your rights forthrightly and directly. Often you feel that you don’t have enough energy to assert yourself or that any such effort would be futile. Unfortunately, some people with this aspect learn to work behind the scenes or dishonestly. Others simply give up or take a defeatist attitude toward life.

Sometimes this aspect operates on the physical plane as well. You may have a generally low energy level and feel tired all the time but not able to sleep because of nervousness. You may actually need more sleep than others, and if so, you should try to get it. This aspect may also indicate that you tend to have allergies and infections.

(I guess this comes from being born in the middle of a thunderstorm…)

If you want to know 17 ‘weird’ (read, ‘wired’) facts about Nikola Tesla, click on this link. You’ll be surprised. Number 10 confirms the Mars Inconjunct Neptune aspect.

Bless.
