(From IMDb) Storyline Charmingly soft-spoken and yet powerfully incisive expressing his profound ideals, Fred Rogers was a unique presence on television for generations. Through interviews of his family and colleagues, the life of this would-be pastor is explored as a man who found a more important calling to provide an oasis for children in a video sea of violent bombardment. That proved to be his landmark series, MisteRogers’ Neighborhood (1968), a show that could gently delve into important subjects no other children’s show would have dared for that time. In doing so, Rogers experienced a career where his sweet-tempered idealism charmed and influenced the world whether it be scores of children on TV or recalcitrant authorities in government. However, that beloved personality also hid Rogers’ deep self-doubts about himself and occasional misjudgments even as he proved a rock of understanding in times of tragedy for a world that did not always comprehend a man of such noble character.
I can sympathize with the sentiments expressed here. That’s why I choose to utilize astrology to get behind the mask that people wear. Fred Rogers is no different, even though most television viewers would swear that ‘what you see is what you get’.
The Birth Chart
All the astrology sites that contain this birth chart state that the accuracy of the birth time is excellent. So, it’s the time I will go with, too. It makes Mister Rogers’ mask:
Taurus Rising
You are very calm and deliberate in your actions. You don’t like to move too quickly or act hastily. And when you do make a move, you want it to accomplish something, for you are a practical person. As long as you feel sure that your efforts will achieve results, you are willing to work very patiently to complete the task. With this kind of persistence, you can achieve just as much as people who seem to work faster but who are not so steady.
Sometimes you are quite stubborn, and the more that someone applies pressure, the more firmly you resist. Someone who wants to make you do something has to talk you into it very gently without arousing your stubbornness.
Outwardly, you appear quite calm and self-possessed. Because you do not get upset easily, you can calm down those who are more easily upset. Even when you feel considerable turmoil inside, you may not show it. It is not that you suppress your feelings, but that your exterior does not reveal them very readily. At the same time, you show others an earthly kind of warmth and friendliness, so that they do not think of you as cold. Most people with Taurus rising have a kind of charm that makes them well liked by others.
You enjoy comfort and the good things of life. You may also be rather lazy, preferring to sit around and relax rather than getting up and doing something active or energetic.
But there are one inconjunct featuring Mars and Pluto, and one Yod (finger of God) pointing directly at Neptune, which reveal the energies hidden just below the surface.
Mars Inconjunct Pluto
You have a strong will and always want to have your own way. But very often it seems as if tremendous forces are working to prevent you from getting what you want. If you have this problem, it is because of the way you go about trying to achieve your ends. If you put too much force into your desire to get something, you may unknowingly alienate people because your aggressive manner shows that you will let nothing stop you from getting what you want. Even if that isn’t the way you really feel about it, you should recognize that your forcefulness creates this impression.
At certain times in your life, when there are great changes taking place within you and in your environment, you will have to work very hard to make your affairs turn out right. There is nothing to be done at those times except do the work that must be done. Fortunately you have plenty of energy and enough endurance to pull through anything that you will encounter in life. You are basically tough and persistent. These changes are an integral part of your growth, and even if everything seems to go wrong they are necessary to your full development.
Sun Inconjunct Neptune
You are very sensitive to your environment and to the people around you. On one level of your being, you feel what is going on very acutely. Unfortunately your understanding often comes in terms that are very difficult to others, because their meaning is not clear in your own mind. Your greatest danger is in being exposed to negative people who are full of anger or depression or who act very harshly toward you and undermine your self-confidence. Your self-confidence has to be boosted at every conceivable opportunity, and it would be very destructive for you to be criticized sharply, unless the person has made it very clear that he or she loves you.
On the other hand, you can develop into a compassionate and understanding person who instinctively knows what others need and how to serve them. True selfless service to others, giving of yourself voluntarily rather than because you feel there is no choice, will make you feel good, just as the negative behavior described above will make you and everyone else feel bad.
Neptune Inconjunct Midheaven
You are very impressionable, in that you pick up the energies around you very quickly. Therefore it is very important that you be surrounded by wholesome influences in your early years because negative influences will weaken your self-esteem and make it much more difficult to accomplish anything when you are older. On the other hand, your impressionableness may give rise to some psychic ability, or at least a very sharp intuition when you are older.
While you are young, you won’t have a clear idea of what you want to do in life. In fact you may never orient your life around a single idea or purpose. But don’t worry. Your purpose in life may not be one that is readily defined in terms of a career or profession. More important may be your style of living or your experience of life. Simply learn to always be aware and to learn whatever there is to be learned. With your sensitivity and intuition you can understand much more than other people, especially those who have wrapped their lives around their career or profession.
Combined Birth and Death Charts
All the obituaries posted after Mister Rogers’ death make no mention of the time of his passing. One states that it happened in the early hours…
So, I chose the median time of 3:00 am. The ‘death’ Ascendant is conjunct the fatal Mars, with fatal Pluto nearby. That sounds exactly like dying too quickly from stomach cancer.
The image in the centre of the combined charts looks like his life had completed its course. And that is as it should be.
Conclusion
The man was a puppeteer. His greatest creation was himself. We would do well to remember that. And we should all be grateful that he wanted to be our neighbor.
Some films are targeted at children, most at adults; this one is aimed directly at the child in each of us.
Fred Rogers is a very nice man. Lloyd Vogul, a hurt man-child who has been sent to interview Mister Rogers for Esquire magazine in 1998, has had a difficult relationship with his father (the name of the writer has been changed) but this story is ‘inspired by’ the true events of the meetings between the real life journalist, Tom Junod, and Mister Rogers. It is nostalgic, it is heart-felt, and it is quite revealing for, and about, everyone involved.
The screenplay shows Mister Rogers to be very skilled at helping children (read, people) come to terms with their emotional pain and hurt feelings. And it shows that he’s not perfect, although his humanity is almost saint-like. But, in my opinion, his use of, and gratitude for, empathy is brilliantly portrayed.
Having Tom Hanks play the role was perfectly ‘inspired’. Everyone loves both Tom and the man he inhabits. (It turns out that they are related, according to ancestry.com.)
This seems to be one of my left-field inspirations, but I was reminded internally yesterday, (when we were skipping over a discussion of the Book of Job in our Faith & Science group) that Edgar Cayce said that Melchizedek wrote that story as an allegory.
Q. Please give the important incarnations of Jesus in the world’s history.
A. In the beginning as Amilius, as Adam, as Melchiezdek [sic], as Zend, as Ur, as Asaph, as Jeshua—Joseph—(Joshua)—Jesus.
Then, as that coming into the world in the second coming—for He will come again and receive His own who have prepared themselves through that belief in Him and acting in the manner; for the Spirit is abroad and the time draws near and there will be the reckoning of those even as in the first so in the last and the last shall be first; for there is that Spirit abroad—he standeth near. Ye that hath eyes to see, let him see. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear, let him hear that music of the coming of the Lord of this vineyard; and art thou ready to give account of that thou hast done with thine opportunity in the earth as the Sons of God, as the heirs and joint heirs of the glory of the Son? Then make thy paths straight, for there must come an answering for that thou hast done with the Lord! He will not tarry, for having overcome He shall appear even as the Lord and Master. Not as one born, but as one that returneth to his own, for He will walk and talk with men of every clime, and those that are faithful and just in their reckoning shall be caught up with Him to rule and to do judgment for a thousand years! (364-7)
{Jeffrey Furst comments:} In the above Reading Cayce ties in and relates the Alpha/Omega concept of Christ from Genesis to Revelation in an extremely interesting and understandable manner. Indeed, the entire series of Readings on the Book of Revelation is in itself a worthwhile separate study. Therein Cayce relates the Revelation of John as a symbolic allegory of the human body’s structure and evolvement to the ultimate Christ Consciousness within—all related to the promised second coming of The Master. (pages 39-40)
A Righteous King
Melchizedek is a rare figure in Hebrew history. He was the king of Salem and he was a High Priest of God. The roles had not yet been split. When Jesus came into Jerusalem for the Holy Week of the Passover, for the last time, he came as the Messiah, the Anointed One, a priestly king. This is hidden in the symbolism of riding on a donkey.
This strange combination of roles of priest and king needed to be re-established before the end of the world could come. That’s why Jesus said that he had come to fulfill the Law and the Prophets. Only the sacrifice of a holy king would do.
We are back to Osiris territory again.
Conclusion
There is so much to explore when it comes to this world. It can take a lifetime (and longer) to get to the bottom of the situation. And then the only way left to go is UP!
St. Paul‘s conversion to being an Apostle of Jesus Christ has all hallmarks of an internal experience. (The Acts of the Apostles, chapter 9, is where you can read about the ‘event’:)
The impact on Saul’s life was ‘blind-siding’. And, in this day and age, we would understand that his lack of sight must have been psychosomatic. The stress of his work, hunting down the Apostles, plus the heat of the day, would have been the initial cause. But what Jesus said to him was like a ‘bolt out of the blue’. His conscience was pricked, for sure. (Surprising, Jesus used that term, himself, at least in the King James Version.)
The guilt must have been overwhelming.
For Saul, this was totally unexpected. Had he been wrong, all his life, up to this point? But what if he had just been avoiding what his life’s plan was? The ‘crisis’ needed to wake him up to the truth of the situation: he was working for the wrong side.
A Reluctant Christ Bearer
People who take a specific path in life (a road to Damascus…) are sometimes shocked into changing course because of an accident or illness. Near death experiences are a case in point. Coming back from the dead can be a life changer.
Saul, also known as Paul, may have experienced an NDE. At any rate, he changed his life. But the people around him couldn’t see the reason why. Even the Apostles, and especially Peter, didn’t believe it was possible for a former prosecutor of the new “Christian” believers to completely convert to their side. Was this a trick? they thought.
I guess Jesus knew exactly what he was doing. His flock needed to include Gentiles, but Peter had a hard time reconciling this idea with his Jewish faith. So Paul (a Roman Jew) was needed to be the keeper of Jesus’ “other” flocks.
Turns out, he was right.
Phenomenon

Here’s another chart I’ve neglected until now. The whispers from the Other Side have hinted that Putin is the reincarnation of Julius Caesar. This should be interesting…
There is only one trine in Putin’s chart and it is the aspect between Mars and Pluto. This cannot be a coincidence. And the fact that Putin’s Mars is in Sagittarius, Caesar’s rising sign, has to double the effect, as the Yod (Finger of God) in Caesar’s birth chart pulled these three energies together.
In Putin’s chart, there is a double inconjunct, so I will focus on that:
Jupiter Inconjunct Saturn
This aspect may signify great restlessness and unease, so that it is difficult for you to achieve a state of balance or feel calm and at ease. Often you have contradictory impulses; you want to plunge ahead into some relatively risky activity, but you are held back by feelings of caution and inhibition. It is often difficult to decide whether you want to act on your own or in a situation that is very structured and regulated. If your situation is too structured, you will feel closed in and repressed; you will want to break free and go off by yourself and do things your way. But when you get that freedom, you feel rather lost and at loose ends, and you find it difficult to set your own pace.
The best solution is to learn to discipline yourself and structure your activities so that you do not have to contend with regulation by others. Then you will discover that your problems with authority come from within, not from the people who are trying to give you discipline and self-control from without. Perhaps the best way to handle this problem in your life is to make a reasonable evaluation of any situation, make up your mind rather quickly and stick to it until you have completed the activity.
Jupiter Inconjunct Neptune
You are an idealist with very vivid dreams about how you want your life to be, and at certain times in your life you will follow those dreams with all your energy. But sometimes these idealistic dreams will let you down, because you are not concerned enough with what is real and possible.
Perhaps you should not gamble or take excessive risks at any time in your life. Your dreams in this area also will probably go far beyond reality, and you will take chances that can’t possibly be realized.
Your idealism can be the source of much creative imagination, leading to profound insights and realizations, but only if you remain connected with the actual day-to-day universe in which the rest of the human race lives.
Saturn Conjunct Neptune
Wherever this aspect affects the chart, it brings about a feeling of insecurity, as if reality itself were not quite dependable. You are fearful and tend toward depression. However, if you master its energies, you can learn to live with very little. This aspect does not necessarily mean that you won’t have physical resources, it merely means that they are less essential to you than to others. Many persons with this aspect choose to be unencumbered by material possessions, preferring to live ascetically, with few comforts. And the psychological effect is similar, in that you may have a very great capacity to sacrifice yourself for others or for your beliefs.
Ruler of the Whole World
Imagine having to wait almost 2,050 years to have a second chance at your original goal. But what is time, but a human construct, to explain why everything doesn’t happen immediately…
Jupiter in Putin’s chart is coming back around to the position it had when Caesar was born. And Putin’s Ascendant is conjunct Saturn in Caesar’s chart. Because that energy combination is opposed by Caesar’s Sun and Putin’s Uranus conjunction, I can only surmise that Julius Caesar’s time has come, in the Age of Aquarius.
