Arc-en-ceil = Archangel?

Visible Light Spectrum

Inspiring view, isn’t it? And yet scientists would say that this image is just in your head, that it doesn’t exist in the real world. (In other words, your eyes see light being refracted in the air and your brain interprets it as a rainbow.)

But is it as simple as that?

After the Flood

(From Atlantis by Rudolf Steiner – pages 86-87)

If you were to enter this ancient Atlantis, you would find that it was surrounded not by such pure air as the present earth but by air saturated with volumes of mist, with water. This air became clearer and more transparent the further Atlantis developed, but the mists were densest where the more advanced Atlantean civilization developed. That is where the thickest mists were, and from these the foundations of the later cultures developed. Atlantis was covered far and wide by these mists. A division of rain and sunshine such as we have today did not then exist. Hence in ancient Atlantis what you know as the rainbow could not appear. You might search the whole of Atlantis and you would hardly find it. Only when the condensation of the water led to flooding, when the great Flood spread itself over the earth, could the rainbow come into being physically. And this is a point where on the basis of spiritual science you will gain the greatest respect for religious records. For when you are told that after the Flood, Noah, the representative of those who saved mankind, sees the rainbow first appear, this is really an historical event. After the Flood, mankind saw the first rainbow; previously it was an impossibility — simply from the point of view of physics.

An New Perception

Today, we are being presented with rainbow imagery everywhere: Gay Pride parades and flags; 144,000 Rainbow Warriors; pretty pictures, poetry, etc. It’s inescapable.

But the original message has been lost in the ‘mists of time’. The inner vision was then being obliterated by the Sun and we were descending into spiritual darkness. The rainbow was a reminder that we are not alone.

Here ends the lesson…

The Hidden Light

Atlantis: the fate of a lost land and its secret knowledge

Rudolf Steiner, again. His abilities allowed him to ‘read’ the Akashic Records. Like Edgar Cayce, he has shared that knowledge with us.

When I read a book, I look for links to knowledge that I’ve already accumulated. It happened again, with this small book. I came across the relevant passage on page 93:

What had taken place in human beings? When previously they rose out of their bodies, when it was ‘night’, their soul and spirit entered into the inner astral brilliance, which does not require the external sun. This brilliance surrounded them. It was the same light from mighty spiritual beings which later shone down physically from the sun. As they gradually enclosed themselves more and more in their physical consciousness, the door of inner vision was closed. Darkness surrounded them when at night they left their physical and etheric bodies and entered the spiritual world. The external light, representing the deeds of the spiritual beings of the sun, grew to the same extent to which human beings became confined; the light of the spiritual beings shone externally on the earth. Human beings prepared themselves to look upon the external light as something material. The light shone in his darkened inner being, but the light was not at that time comprehended by his darkness.

John 1:5

Most Bible translations (as seen via the link above) miss the point. My favourite one is the New King James Version, and that’s where the connection is made.

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Now, I realize that Steiner may have been influenced by the Gospel of John, since he closes his book by discussing how spiritual John was, but that doesn’t stop the a-ha moment for me. When quoting this passage I always use the word ‘comprehend’.

I wonder why?

Coral Polge: Aspects of Character

personal-characteristics-1-638

Personality of Past Lives or Astrological Aspects?

Coral Polge was famous in the U.K. for her psychic portraits. By the time she died in 2001, she must have done tens of thousands of them. I got to sit in front of her once in 1987. She drew me a picture of an old man looking like a banker. The image was a replication of a photograph I never got to see until 2007, a full 20 years later. So, how did she do it?

Coral_Polge_photo

It would appear that Ms. Polge uses the energy of the person sitting in front of her to link with a person who’d passed from this world. That is why most of the images are of family members and good friends. In my father’s case, he must have been in and out of consciousness because the sitting took place 4 days before his death.

Others, that evening, had historical personages drawn for them. When asked if they represented past lives, Ms. Polge said that they were ‘aspects’ of personality.

Now, I wonder what she meant by that?

History Repeats Itself Through Us

As an aside, I just want to point out that a great many people claim to be reincarnated figures from the past. I am one of those people. But I’m beginning to understand that astrological aspects are the real echoes of these historical personages. And where a particular aspect is part of a couple’s relationship, the full force of that echo can be felt in the present. Such is the reason for my feeling of being ‘unworthy’ of love.

And I find it fascinating that Coral Polge’s ‘guest’ at my sitting was the man that made me feel that way in this lifetime. She really was a ‘messenger’ of the gods.

Why artist Coral’s portraits really are a dead likeness

The press had a field day when reporting about her abilities. Just a couple of examples will show you why this headline is both clever and correct.

photo10

Somehow, the person on the “other side” of the sitting would present him (or her) self as a photograph or painting from some point in their life. At the same time, Ms. Polge would question them about their life and any connections to the person in front of her.

In my father’s case, when she asked about him, he told her to just ‘get on with it’. (I don’t think he thought much of the process, but just wanted to get through to me via her art.)

Anyway, his message was received, but not understood until 32 years later.

Thank you, Coral Polge

The Seven Directions

201907-article-dane-2

Lakota Wisdom: Circle of Life.

The chart above shows the seven directions being matched with our seven chakras.

I’m not sure that I totally agree with the Center being linked with the 6th chakra, because it so much more likely fits the Heart, which is the 4th. (May the 4th be with you…)

mikmak_intro_2

However, the important thing to remember is the fact that there are seven directions, and what that means for each of us.

Rudolf Steiner discussed the Higher Dimensions in terms of subsequent lines of energy being dissected at 90º by new ones. As he explained, each line continues in its direction until it meets its opposite. That’s where the next dimension starts. Implied is the fact that any direction is just a short section of a circle. So the circles all meet in the centre…

Little Gidding by T.S. Eliot

This poem has sparked a lot of discussion about Pentecostal fire. I believe that fire is our own central sun, residing in our hearts. Something has to ignite the flame: Jesus Christ?

“Who Are Those Guys?”

Butch-Cassidy-and-the-Sundance-Kid

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)

It’s hard to believe that this movie is now 50 years old. I saw it on television last night for the first time in about 40 years. It hasn’t aged a minute.

The question at the top of this post is a line from the movie that gets spoken over and over again when six Pinkerton agents are chasing our heroes down.

I think it’s apt for this post.

The Wild Bunch

butch-cassidy-and-the-sundance-kid-wanted-advertisement-print-poster

Butch Cassidy (real name Robert LeRoy Parker) was born April 13, 1866 in Beaver, Utah Territory.

The Sundance Kid (real name Harry Longabaugh) was an East-Coast (1867) born former cowboy, turned robber.

Their ‘true’ story can be found here.

The Movie

Westerns have been a part of American culture for as far back as the beginnings of cinema. The wide-open spaces and spectacular vistas helped to produce colourful images, even when filmed in black-and-white.

And who the good guys and the bad guys were was always easy to spot by the colour of their clothes (white and black).

This movie turned the usual story on its head. Now our heroes were really villains (bank and train robbers). And the lawmen seemed ruthless and mean (and sometimes just plain stupid). But the camera loved Paul Newman and Robert Redford together, and we couldn’t get enough of them. Which is why they were paired again in “The Sting”.

And when they jumped off that cliff to escape the Pinkertons, the word they yelled all the way down was “Shiiiiiiiit!”

Conclusion

In my opinion, this was the last of the great westerns. And we shall never see a pairing like these two stars again. You may disagree, and I don’t mind, because I know I’m right.

And Speaking of the Dog Star: Sirius

1423572897

I have been negligent: I’ve known about the double star Sirius for more than 40 years but never thought to share that knowledge with anyone else. Hopefully, this post will correct that oversight.

The Dogon people in Mali, West Africa, have a belief system that talks about them as having been instructed by amphibious/androgynous beings from the stars.

(From Wikipedia) In 1976, Robert K. G. Temple wrote a book called The Sirius Mystery arguing that the Dogon’s system reveals precise knowledge of cosmological facts known only by the development of modern astronomy, since they appear to know, from Griaule and Dieterlen’s account, that Sirius is part of a binary star system, whose second star, Sirius B, a white dwarf, is however completely invisible to the human eye (just as Digitaria has the smallest grain known to the Dogon) and that it takes 50 years to complete its orbit. The existence of Sirius B had only been inferred to exist through mathematical calculations undertaken by Friedrich Bessel in 1844. Temple then argued that the Dogon’s information, if traced back to ancient Egyptian sources and myth, indicates an extraterrestrial transmission of knowledge of the stars. Neither Griaule nor Dieterlen had ever made such bold claims about a putative esoteric source for the Dogon’s knowledge.

The binary star system of Sirius A and Sirius B gives us a hint about why this world (Earth) is ruled by everything binary.

The problem of “twin births” versus “single births”, or androgyny versus single-sexed beings, contributed to a disorder at the beginning of time. This theme became a significant basis of the Dogon religion. “The jackal was alone from birth,” said Ogotemmêli, “and because of this he did more things than can be told.” Dogon males were primarily associated with the single-sexed male Jackal and the Sigui festival, which was associated with death on the Earth. It was held once every sixty years and allegedly celebrated the white dwarf star, Sirius B, provoking numerous speculations about the origin of such knowledge.

We are back in the Garden of Eden again. This time the ‘serpent’ was a jackal.

Did you know that Orion is equivalent to Anubis to the Egyptians? Just sayin’.

Sirius-constellation04

Orion’s belt helps direct us to sighting Sirius in the night sky. Orion’s belt is also echoed by the lineup of the greater pyramids at Giza. So, some of this knowledge may have been passed down through the Egyptians.

Artist's impression of the sizes of Sirius B and the Earth

Sirius B, which is a dwarf white star, is mostly invisible to us, since it hides behind (or is obscured by) Sirius A. Again, this is code for our spiritual nature.

The hexagon is a special formation. The hexagram contained within the shape is usually represented by a six-pointed star: a Star of David. Do you see where I’m going with this?

Sometimes, the truth has to stare us in the face before we become aware of it.
