Has Her Birth Time Been Wrong All This Time?

Norma Jeane’s Live Birth Certificate (June 1, 1926)

As I’m reading through the early years of this young lady’s life, I can’t help but wonder if her birth time is off by a couple of hours. My reason: there are two events which are pivotal in her life that don’t match up with the planets that should mark their timing correctly.

Call it instinct, call it intuition, call me for dinner: to correct this misalignment, I moved the clock back to 7:30 am, and then went looking for the proof. That figure at the time line could be a 9 changed to a 7, or a 7 changed to a 9. My feeling is that it was intended as a 7, and that someone rewrote it to make this clear. Subsequent astrologers decided that it was a 9, as this time would better fit in with her death @ 36 years (Mars), in other words, rectifying her chart. At any rate, I think she was meant to live longer.

The detail of the time leaves a question mark, at least in my mind.

Event One (at age 1)

In the summer of 1927, Della [Norma Jeane’s grandmother] walked across the street from her home to the Bolenders’ with the intention of seeing Norma Jeane. She banged on the front door, but Ida didn’t want to let her into the house. It’s unknown why Ida took this position, but she must have felt that Della was out of control and a danger to the baby. Indeed, Della broke the door’s glass with her elbow and let herself in. The family history has it that she confronted Ida and said she believed that Norma Jeane was dead and that no one had told her or Gladys. Alarmed and not knowing how to handle the situation, Ida let Della see Norma Jeane sleeping in her crib. She went to get Della a glass of water and when she returned she found Della smothering the baby with a pillow. “Ida became almost hysterical,” said one friend of Gladys’s in the telling of the story. “She grabbed the child. Della said that the baby’s pillow had slipped and she was simply readjusting it. But Ida was very upset and demanded that Della leave the house.”

The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe (page 26)

In the birth chart, Neptune represents a grandparent, most usually the grandmother. There is an inconjunct joining Neptune to Mars, an obvious intention.

Event Two (at age 7)

By June 1933, shortly after her seventh birthday, Norma Jeane’s life was settled — such as it was. Yes, there were problems at the Bolender home, but it was all that she knew and she was fine there. She got along with her foster siblings and also had one faithful friend who was always there for her and never once brought her anything by joy: her pet dog, Tippy.

Sadly, however, a tragedy involving Tippy would be the catalyst to Norma Jeane’s departure from the Bolender home. As the story goes — and it’s been told countless times over the years in different variations — a neighbor of the Bolenders became annoyed by the dog’s constant barking. In Marilyn’s memoir, she write that the neighbor, finally fed up and in a moment of fury, attacked the dog with a hoe, savagely cutting Tippy in half.

A Bolender family member explained that what really happened was that Tippy was hit by a car and killed. Ida, having witnessed the event, didn’t want a dead animal continually run over in the street. Therefore, using a garden hoe, she lifted the carcass and dropped it on the driveway. She wanted nothing more to do with it, and decided that the gruesome task of disposing of the pet should wait for Wayne’s return. However, before Wayne got home, Norma Jeane showed up after playing with some friends down the street. Obviously, she was devastated by the sight of her best friend’s dead body, mangled and lying in the driving with a nearby garden tool seemingly part of the macabre scene. She let out a shriek, burst into tears, and ran into the house. For the next few hours, it was impossible to calm her down.

Ibid (pages 40-41)

This event precipitated her being sent back to her mother, Gladys, permanently. That’s the Saturn effect in full measure: death, alienation, and a change in circumstances. The strict upbringing that she had experienced up until this age was now completely undone by moving back into the home that Gladys shared with Grace. But her sense of freedom was completely destroyed along the way.

One Last Thing (or three)

Pluto is now conjunct the Ascendant, which gives the hidden demons more control of her ‘visible’ life. And the Moon is now inconjunct the Ascendant…and let’s not forget that Mars/Neptune inconjunct.

Moon Inconjunct Ascendant

You tend to put your own emotional needs and wants second to whatever you feel has to be done. In other words, you are likely to be more discipline emotionally than most people your age. But this is not good if you feel that your emotional needs are not important. Your needs must be fulfilled as much as anyone else’s, particularly because your feelings are really very powerful within yourself.

It is very likely that while you are young you will attract people who are emotionally difficult to handle. This will continue until you learn to show your emotional side as well as the surface personality that you allow others to see. It is all right for people to see all the energies that make up your personality. Only by accepting yourself completely can you overcome this conflict.

Mars Inconjunct Neptune

With this aspect you must learn to stand up for yourself and demand your rights forthrightly and directly. Often you feel that you don’t have enough energy to assert yourself or that any such effort would be futile. Unfortunately, some people with this aspect learn to work behind the scenes or dishonestly. Others simply give up or take a defeatist attitude toward life.

Sometimes this aspect operates on the physical plane as well. You may have a generally low energy level and feel tired all the time but not able to sleep because of nervousness. You may actually need more sleep than others, and if so, you should try to get it. This aspect may also indicate that you tend to have allergies and infections.

Pluto Conjunct Ascendant

This aspect can have a very powerful effect on your life, but unless you learn how to use it responsibly, it could create problems. You approach other people and situations in life with great intensity. It is difficult for you to take anything lightly, for you either get into something totally or not at all. In fact, when you do get wrapped up in some project or activity, you may neglect everything else in your life. This aspect has a compulsive quality that makes it difficult for you to do anything in moderation.

Your emotions are very intense. You go through periods of very dramatic psychological change, and after each of these periods others will feel as if they are seeing a new you. During those phases of change you are very touchy, irritable and subject to outbursts of emotion. But you thrive on the process of change even though it is often painful.

As you get older you will be more concerned with power and control. When you see something wrong or being done poorly, you want to take it over and do it right. As you grow up you will have to choose between being someone who works for positive change and reform or a person whose drive for power makes you dominate others strictly for personal gain. If you follow the latter course, people will fear your energies and will band together to stop you. Such opposition can render you totally ineffective. But if you work for positive change in society, you will be respected and effective. You must become an agent of change and creativity above and beyond your person al desires.

Stereotypes: Are Canadians Law-Abiding?

Only When It Suits Them to Be

In very small ways, since returning to Canada, almost 15 years ago, I’ve noticed that our national identity as an honest country is being slowly eroded by other players. We never really were law-abiding, even though we thought we were (take traffic violations, for example). I guess, being away for 22 years, has let me see the truth about my native country. We only follow the rules when we want to,,,

This statement may be true, but notice how damning the praise is, even while comparing us favourably to the United States. Can you now see why the Freedom Convoy was supported by American citizens?

They want us to be just like them. And, I suspect, that some of us want to be just like them. (I don’t…)

And this is really why people in some parts of Canada don’t like Trudeau. Gun control. Some of the other protests in Canada during this past month were dismantled after it was confirmed that some of the protesters were carrying weapons. Oops. There is no amendment in Canada of the right to bear arms.

But Americans have a difficult relationship with guns: Sandy Hook families, for example, have been awarded US$73 million in a legal suit brought against Remington Arms. This is unusual.

Again, the implication is that Canada is a safer place to live, but there are still people dying here from gunshot wounds, even though there are laws restricting the use of firearms in Canada. Somehow, criminals think they are exempt from the law. Typical, eh? Or should I say, “stereotypical”?

Enough said.

Finally, After Twenty-Two Days, Some Movement

The Police Come Out in Force, to Enforce the Emergencies Act

Image from Ottawa last night, courtesy of the Toronto Star

It might not have occurred to the truckers (and others) protesting in Ottawa for the past three weeks that the presence of their children at the scene of the blockade was actually the trigger for enacting the Emergencies Act of 1988. Because of the ‘human shield’ of their attendance, most police and tow drivers were reluctant to interfere with the protesters. Now, one week later, after serving everyone their notice of intention to dismantle the blockade, the police (augmented from various police forces in Ontario and Quebec) have started to arrest the participants of the illegal protest and began moving the parked trucks.

I guess that’s why (former) Ottawa Police Chief Sloly (slowly?) had to be replaced. Somebody then rang the Bell (the interim Ottawa Police Chief). And the standoff is now being sorted. But it will take time…

Watch this space.

Conflict: How to Win Friends and Influence People?

Spectrum of Allies and Opponents

No, how to divide and rule…

May I remind you that when I pose a question in the title of a post, I am hinting that the answer is “NO”? The Freedom Blockade in Ottawa is a case in point. There are two sides: those that want freedom to do as they want (anarchists) and those that want to control the narrative, no matter what (government). [The illustration was one I found this morning, supposedly for groups wanting to organize workers into unions.] Our two+ party system of government is the best example of this.

But when will we ever learn?

David Icke Just Called Us “Fascist Canada”

He Obviously Doesn’t Know His Left from His Right

Latest federal election results

This graphic is almost a repeat of the results from the 2019 federal election. In Canada, the left of centre is represented by the colour red, the right of centre by blue. The rest are afterthoughts. In the normal spectrum of political persuasion, Left tends towards Communism, Right towards Fascism.

Is that understood, Mr. Icke?

No doubt he is referring to the fact that Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Government have enacted the Emergencies Act. I can only wonder how much worse it would be if it had been a Conservative Government. (And never mind that there are children in the mix.) Each truck and its occupants have been served with a notice of intention to dismantle the blockade by the police. If they choose to remain, they have only themselves to blame. One protester said, “How dare they!” Well, exactly, my friend.

Freedom Comes With a Price Tag

Everyone has the right to protest against something they disagree with. But to take over the capital of Canada to make your point is a step too far. It’s been three weeks. When is it enough? The provinces are reducing their mandates. The federal government is changing the rules for arrivals to Canada. What’s left? Masks! This is when the politics of our neighbours to the South begin to impinge on our country.

And, as for you, David Icke, I wish you’d keep your nose out of the business of running Canada.

Hidden Demons Haunted Her

(You Know Who) (June 1, 1926 – August 4, 1962)

This is the book I bought for myself on my birthday, recently. I’m finding it difficult to get into it. Call me ‘gun shy’. The Lords of Karma may be watching, and yet I need to share with y’all what I know.

Now, normally, I’d focus on the only inconjunct in the chart between Mars and Neptune. That alone marks out the ending in a way that lets us know that she would be murdered and that it would be a mystery, at the same time. This time, I’m going to look at that demon sitting on her shoulder.

Pluto on the Twelfth House Cusp

At times you feel a very strong desire to do something that doesn’t really make sense. You wonder what made you do that, try to figure out what created the drive. The problem is that you do not like certain aspects of yourself, or you think others would not like them. So you try to keep these drives secret from others or from yourself, even though you are aware of their effects on you. Yet because these parts of your personality need to be expressed, they generate strong energies that seem to push you around, as if another person was hiding inside you and forcing you to act.

What you must recognize is that nothing in you is really that bad. You have to look at these hidden aspects of yourself as if you were meeting another person and ask yourself whether they really are that bad. Most people are perfectly all right inside, but they do not realize it. Holding yourself back and trying to hide certain elements of yourself from other people is likely to cause more problems than being totally honest about yourself, because the repressed drives get out of control and demand expression at the worst possible moments.

There, I’ve said it: now I’m waiting for a thunderbolt out of the blue.

Did Michele Finney Inspire a Beatles’ Song?

Michelle (1965)

When I first heard this song on the Rubber Soul album, I thought so: Michele had interviewed the Beatles on September 7, 1964 when they performed at Maple Leaf Gardens for the first time. (And, knowing how the creative process works, the seed of an idea for the song was planted that day.) This song was finally recorded on November 3, 1965, so the timing is correct. But I could be mistaken.

The initial recording took place between 2.30 and 7pm on 3 November 1965. From 7pm until 11.30pm The Beatles overdubbed extra guitars and their lead and harmony vocals.

What do you think?

“The instrumental music of “Michelle” originated separately from the lyrical concept. According to McCartney:

“Michelle” was a tune that I’d written in Chet Atkins’ finger-picking style. There is a song he did called “Trambone” with a repetitive top line, and he played a bass line while playing a melody. This was an innovation for us; even though classical guitarists had played it, no rock ‘n’ roll guitarists had played it. The first person we knew to use finger-picking style was Chet Atkins … I never learned it. But based on Atkins’ “Trambone”, I wanted to write something with a melody and a bass line in it, so I did. I just had it as an instrumental in C.

“The words and style of “Michelle” have their origins in the popularity of Parisian Left Bank culture during McCartney’s Liverpool days. In his description, “it was at the time of people like Juliette Greco, the French bohemian thing.” McCartney had gone to a party of art students where a student with a goatee and a striped T-shirt was singing a French song. He soon wrote a farcical imitation to entertain his friends that involved French-sounding groaning instead of real words. The song remained a party piece until 1965, when John Lennon suggested he rework it into a proper song for inclusion on Rubber Soul.

“McCartney asked Jan Vaughan, a French teacher and the wife of his old friend Ivan Vaughan, to come up with a French name and a phrase that rhymed with it. McCartney said: “It was because I’d always thought that the song sounded French that I stuck with it. I can’t speak French properly so that’s why I needed help in sorting out the actual words.”

“Vaughan came up with “Michelle, ma belle”, and a few days later McCartney asked for a translation of “these are words that go together well”, rendered incorrectly as: sont les mots qui vont très bien ensemble. When McCartney played the song for Lennon, Lennon suggested the “I love you” bridge. Lennon was inspired by a song he heard the previous evening, Nina Simone’s version of “I Put a Spell on You”, which used the same phrase but with the emphasis on the last word, “I love you“.

“Each version of this song has a different length. The UK mono mix is 2:33 whereas the stereo version extends to 2:40 and the US mono is 2:43.[7] The version available in The Beatles: Rock Band has a running time of 2:50.” (Wikipedia)

Nevertheless, this was one of the Beatles’ songs most covered by others, after “Yesterday”.

Are You Feeling a Little Love/Hate Thing, Today?

Leo Full Moon (February 16, 2022)

When the world and his uncle were predicting a Russian invasion of Ukraine today, I wondered if the Leo Full Moon was to blame. It’s a delicate matter trying to predict what countries and their leaders will do. In my own personal life, this full moon triggered a rant by my wife about her kids, at the precise alignment.

Obviously, she will say that she was just ranting, but, as an astrologer, I recognize when something occurs that there might be some inconjuncts behind the ‘discussion’. Venus and Mars were both inconjunct the Ascendant AND the Moon was inconjunct Pluto. Hence a mother’s concerns about her children’s behaviour.

Moon Inconjunct Pluto

This aspect means that your emotions are very intense and not always easy to deal with. Often your feelings make you want to do or say something without knowing why. Also you may have very intense moods in which you withdraw from those around you into a world of your own. If you do not feel accepted and emotionally supported at home, you may constantly feel guilty for what you think you have done to others, or jealous that people aren’t paying enough attention to you, or generally possessive of those around you.

Venus Conjunct Mars

Sometimes you may be unsure whether to assert yourself, give way to the other person’s demands, or compromise, although that can be the most difficult choice of the three. Much of the time you may be very demanding of those you love, insisting that they give you, and you alone, a great deal of love and attention. But when you realize that your demands will probably drive the other person away, you will give in.

Venus Inconjunct Ascendant

You often feel that you haven’t any right to ask much of those whom you loved. You feel that you must do favors for them instead of asking for their help. For you, love is an act of service, not self-gratification. Also, through relationships with others, you try to learn more about your own and other peoples’ inner workings. For this reason your relationships are more deep and profound than most people’s.

Mars Inconjunct Ascendant

A way of avoiding this kind of conflict (with authority figures) is to learn that you can say what needs to be said and not be forced to remain quiet. You can’t expect your elders to always go along with your ideas, but you should be able to feel confident of your right to say it. The exception to this, of course, is that you do not have any right to say something just to hurt others.

Is that any clearer?

OK, World, Here’s What Most Canadians Feel:

Being Mad Doesn’t Make You Right

It isn’t often that I’m moved to share another individual’s blog, in full, but this one from parentingishard.org is spot on when it comes to tackling the difficult situation facing Canadians about the Freedom Blockade of our capital, Ottawa.

I think I remember that one of the aims of the organizers was to have Justin Trudeau removed from power. So, just to be clear, this is similar to the Storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021: the overthrow of a duly elected leader. It is therefore fair to call this protest an insurrection. The intent is disguised as peaceful, which the rest of the world is buying into. But it is anything but peaceful.

Remember that the truckers are saying they won’t leave Ottawa until ALL of their objectives have been reached. There is no negotiable strategy. It’s All or NOTHING. No wonder Conservatives are supporting the protest. They’d like nothing better than to be rid of Trudeau, forever.

Was King Tut’s Tomb Protected by a Curse?

Howard Carter Opens King Tutankhamun’s Sarcophagus

February 16, 1923

I know it sounds strange to buy into the idea of a curse, especially today, but these things were long rumoured to be true, especially with respect to an Egyptian King’s last resting place.

On this day in 1923: English archaeologist Howard Carter enters the burial chamber of King Tutankhamun.

In November 1922, the wait paid off, when Carter’s team found steps hidden in the debris near the entrance of another tomb. The steps led to an ancient sealed doorway bearing the name Tutankhamen. When Carter and Lord Carnarvon entered the tomb’s interior chambers on November 26, they were thrilled to find it virtually intact, with its treasures untouched after more than 3,000 years. The men began exploring the four rooms of the tomb, and on February 16, 1923, under the watchful eyes of a number of important officials, Carter opened the door to the last chamber.

Inside lay a sarcophagus with three coffins nested inside one another. The last coffin, made of solid gold, contained the mummified body of King Tut. Among the riches found in the tomb–golden shrines, jewelry, statues, a chariot, weapons, clothing–the perfectly preserved mummy was the most valuable, as it was the first one ever to be discovered. Despite rumors that a curse would befall anyone who disturbed the tomb, its treasures were carefully catalogued, removed and included in a famous traveling exhibition called the “Treasures of Tutankhamen.” The exhibition’s permanent home is the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

History.com

This chart is randomized. But, if a curse were to be triggered by their actions, Mars would have to be prominently featured, and it is, conjunct the Ascendant @ 19° Aries, opposed to Saturn. There are two connected inconjuncts pointing at Jupiter @ 18° Scorpio 28′.

Mars Inconjunct Jupiter

It is important for you to realize that you are not unlucky. Accidents or mishaps result from going too far too fast rather than from bad luck. If you slow down and learn new skills carefully and slowly, you will do as well as anyone else, perhaps better.

Mars Opposition Saturn

You often have the feeling that persons and circumstances are working against you and frustrating what you want to do. As a result you learn to hold in your emotions, especially anger. This can lead to certain psychosomatic problems, such as allergic reactions.

Mars Conjunct Ascendant

You are strong-willed, and people quickly realize that you are not someone to trifle with. You need to have complete control over your own life, but there is a danger that you will be too quarrelsome and domineering.

Jupiter Inconjunct Ascendant

Probably you will accomplish the most if you direct your energies to tasks that benefit others as well as yourself. This is not merely a plea for you to be unselfish, but an assertion that you will achieve your own goals most quickly by doing work that helps others.

Saturn Opposition Ascendant

The relationship that is most affected by this placement is marriage. You may be too young to think about that now, but your present close relationships, even friendships with people of your own sex, will teach you much that you should know about getting along. Otherwise you may build up a wall between yourself and everyone else.

2019

Astrologically, Carter’s actions may have triggered ‘protective’ aspects that rebounded on him and his associates. While reading through the details of these aspects, I was struck by how apt they were for King Tut himself. Perhaps his spirit was still there in his burial chamber. How else can one explain it?
