Call it a thought that just won’t go away. I wrote this morning about the first meeting between Marco Polo and Kublai Khan, whose Yuan Empire covered all of China and some surrounding countries. Then Xi Jinping‘s name kept coming into my head. OK, OK, I said, enough is enough: I’ll look at him.

No one knows what time of day he was born, so I randomized the timing (which strangely enough raised a birth chart that is reminiscent of the ones on most of the astrology sites), and then flipped it on its head by making it P.M., instead of A.M. There is only one inconjunct, now, but can we trust it?
The problem with this aspect is to find a balance between, on the one hand, expressing yourself creatively, perhaps artistically, and having a good time and, on the other hand, getting ahead in life, learning the ways of the world and finding an acceptable role in society. You know you will have to make sacrifices in order to accomplish anything of value.
Later in life, you will enter a critical period when your need for personal satisfaction and freedom force you to change jobs or even careers. When you have learned more about the world, you will understand how to make changes intelligently, but now you should discipline your Jupiterian drive for freedom and learn what you need to know to take over your own destiny. You should learn as much as possible about any subject or skill that will make you more aware of the larger world. Travel or foreign study would be beneficial, if that is possible. The more you know about how you fit into the larger scheme of life, the easier it will be to make the right decisions when you have to change to a more rewarding and personally satisfying course.
The misfortunes and suffering of his family in his early years hardened Xi’s view of politics. During an interview in 2000, he said, “People who have little contact with power, who are far from it, always see these things as mysterious and novel. But what I see is not just the superficial things: the power, the flowers, the glory, the applause. I see the bullpens and how people can blow hot and cold. I understand politics on a deeper level.” The bullpens was a reference to Red Guards’ detention houses during the Cultural Revolution.

From 1979 to 1982, Xi served as secretary for his father’s former subordinate Geng Biao, the then vice premier and secretary-general of the Central Military Commission. This gained Xi some military background. In 1985, as part of a Chinese delegation to study U.S. agriculture, he stayed in the home of an American family in the town of Muscatine, Iowa. This trip, and his two-week stay with a U.S. family, is said to have had a lasting impression upon him and his views on the United States.

Yes, well, that’s an excellent question. I knew that I could only answer that one when I compared Xi’s birth chart with Kublai’s birth and death charts. Here they are:

Almost always, I’m surprised by astrological connections, even though the individuals are about 650 years apart. And given the fact that the birth charts are rectified or randomized (and the death chart set for noon), the slower planets are symbolic of the cycles of time.
So, what do we see? Pluto is the connector between their birth charts, being within 3° in Leo. Xi’s Sun is conjunct Kublai’s ‘fatal’ Ascendant. Xi’s Part of Fortune is conjunct Kublai’s ‘fatal’ Midheaven and his natal Jupiter. Xi’s North Node in Aquarius is about 6° from both Kublai’s ‘fatal’ Pluto and his natal Ascendant. Xi’s Saturn/Neptune conjunction is within 7° of Kublai’s ‘fatal’ Neptune. Oh, and let’s not overlook Kublai’s ‘fatal’ North Node being within 6° of Xi’s Mars in Cancer.
Yes, we have liftoff.

On this eve of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games 2022, I thought it might be interesting to look back about 750 years to this meeting, because without that happening, the present would be quite different.
Before I show you what purports to be a totally ‘inspired’ event chart, I want to share how I arrived at the date: in the Julian calendar, Marco Polo was born on September 15, 1254 and Kublai Khan was born on September 23, 1215. I split the difference between them, and pinned the date to 1275, when Polo was just 21. In other words, their meeting was (in effect) a double birthday celebration.
Marco Polo met Kublai Khan soon after arriving in Shangdu. He called the great Khan a “Lord of Lords” and “the most powerful man in people and in lands and in treasure that ever was in the world” – -and this was probably no exaggeration. [Sources: Mike Edwards, National Geographic, May 2001, June 2001, July 2001]
Marco recalled it in detail on the greatest moment when he first met the Great Khan:” They knelt before him and made obeisance with the utmost humility. The Great Khan bade them rise and received them honorably and entertained them with good cheer. He asked many questions about their condition and how they fared after their departure. The brothers assured him that they had indeed fared well, since they found him well and flourishing. [Source: Silk Road Foundation silk-road.com/artl/marcopolo ]
“Then they presented the privileges and letters which the Pope had sent, with which he was greatly pleased, and handed over the holy oil, which he received with joy and prized very highly. When the Great Khan saw Marco, who was then a young stripling, he asked who he was. ‘Sir’ said Messer Niccolo, ‘he is my son and your liege man.’ ‘He is heartly welcome,’ said the Khan. What need to make a long story of it? Great indeed were the mirth and merry-making with which the Great khan and all his Court welcomed the arrival of these emissaries. And they were well served and attended to in all their needs. They stayed at Court and had a place of honor above the other barons.”

The timing is also randomized, so the inconjunct (which does not depend on a correct time for the day) seems to be symbolic of the meeting of East and West.
You may have a natural talent for dominating others, but don’t fall in love with this talent and be motivated by it. You can be effective at influencing people only if you use your talent to help others and yourself achieve desirable goals together. You must be an agent for betterment at all times, and even so you must listen to others’ ideas about betterment to be sure that you aren’t just seeking power in a more roundabout manner.

This chart is rectified to show the journey that he undertook for age 21 (Jupiter). There is one inconjunct between Venus and Uranus. That Saturn on the Ascendant in Capricorn is significant, too, I expect.

This chart is totally randomized. Even so, three of the four inconjuncts have Jupiter in Pisces at one end. What are the chances of that? The other ends are Saturn, Uranus and the Sun in Libra. Hmm. Finally Venus is inconjunct Mars. That explains his choice of administration over conquest: it made him softer than his grandfather, Genghis Khan.

When you compare the charts, it is obvious that this meeting had more to do with Marco Polo’s destiny than with Kublai Khan’s life. And that is to be expected. But some have accused him of making it all up. On his deathbed, he said this:

On this day in 1887, the town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, celebrates the first official Groundhog Day. One hundred and thirty-five years later, Groundhog Day happens every day with COVID-19.
Here are some cartoons to help cheer us up, while we wait another sicks weeks for the end.

All this time, we in the West have been focusing on what Putin might or might not do about Ukraine. We tend to ignore the other side of the coin: America. I wrote about the Olympic Games, yesterday

Pay special attention to the Nodes of the Moon in each of the charts. USA’s North Node is conjunct Joe Biden’s Pluto @ 7° Leo; the Olympic Games Start’s South Node is conjunct Biden’s Sun @ 27° Scorpio; and Biden’s own South Node is conjunct the USA’s Moon @ 27° Aquarius. See what I mean: Joe Biden is the missing link in the chain of events.
Watch this space…

I’ve been aware of some of my past lives since the early 80’s. Now, 40 years later, I’m beginning to think that it’s all a delusion of some kind, self-delusion perhaps.
As usual, it takes looking at what other astrologers think for me to make sense of the nonsense. And, of course, the mindset of the person may have a lot to do with what kind of information they uncover.
The hard thought is that this is the Devil’s handiwork to keep us preoccupied, so that we don’t pay attention to what’s happening to the world, right under our noses, as it were. That was why I mostly kept my focus on world events, some in the the past and mostly in the present. (See “At This Point in Time”.)

“For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.”
Hosea 8:7
We all seem to be reaping the whirlwind.

In other words, Karma.

And that is exactly what my reincarnational astrology research has shown me: everything and everyone are connected and in the energetic backdrop are the planets and the stars.

(Dharma means “cosmic law and order”.) For some other Lord Krishna quotes click here.
They say that about a week before one’s birthday, one’s mind reviews yet another year that has passed. My 72nd birthday will be one week from this Wednesday, hence my short retrospective blog, here.
If I’ve learned anything in the past 12 months, it’s to trust my inner being. So, no more looking back into past lives because I have nothing to prove to myself or anyone else. And if you think my work is nonsense, vote with your feet and unfollow me. Thank you.
There is some speculation as to whether Vladimir Putin will launch his Ukraine offensive to coincide with the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing on Friday of this week. Hmm.

Well, yes, it could be possible since Mars will be inconjunct the Midheaven at that time, but then I am reminded that Mars can represent symbolic warriors doing battle, which is what the Olympics are all about. When I compared Putin’s chart with this event, I didn’t get any conclusive connections.
However, because of the Gate of the Angel being triggered by the Sun @ 15° Aquarius that day, it made me look at the start of World War III, yet again. Is this the event that starts the long slippery ski slope to Armageddon?
Notice that Saturn is conjunct the Sun there.

I’m not sure if I’ll get to live long enough to see if this is true, but my Mercury in Capricorn is conjunct both Mercury’s in these charts @ 24°. And the 2043 bomb drop on Tokyo (Midheaven @ 27° Capricorn) is conjunct the Olympic Games Start’s Pluto. Hmm, again.

Sure it is…

When Nostradamus predicted that the King of Terror would return in 1999, people have speculated that he may have been referring to Vladimir Putin, who rose to power in Russia in that year, two days BEFORE a total eclipse of the sun.
Everyone knows who the original ‘king of terror’ was: Genghis Khan.

We do not have his birth date, but we do know when and where he died. I have set the clock for noon.
I would suggest that his death was shrouded in mystery (with Neptune on the Descendant), but nothing can be taken for ‘fact’ with a 12 noon event time. Astrology isn’t an exact science; it’s all a matter of interpretation. However, when the timing is known to be exact, the information gleaned is clearer.

In order to ‘confirm’ the karmic relationship between two individuals over time, I need to see connections between the (purported) prior life and the present one by comparing the death and birth charts. Except for Khan’s ‘fatal’ Neptune being 1° from Putin’s natal Jupiter, there are no conjunctions.
However, the spirit of conquest is highlighted as a double Yod (Finger of God) from Khan’s ‘fatal’ Jupiter and Neptune pointing to Putin’s natal Sun/Saturn conjunction. But are they one and the same? No.
