The Rapid Evolution of the Charity Record (1984-1985)

Do They Know It’s Christmas?

This song was the first in a series of records to raise money for the starving people in Ethiopia, Africa. Until now, I had never considered seeing what that looked like astrologically.

Admittedly, this chart looks familiar. It also represents the middle of my last five months before moving to England from Canada. Hmm. (And just to recall, it’s equivalent to dropping the A-bomb on Japan in August, 1945, but is more likely to be connected to the chart I did for Indira Gandhi’s assassination at the end of October, 1984.)

We Are The World

And true to form, the Americans decided to record this song to help, too. But they made it personal, and they made it about themselves. (But, to be fair, this is a proper spiritual viewpoint.)

See how the planets have moved along? And now Uranus is inconjunct the Midheaven.

Tears Are Not Enough

Then the Canadians got in on the act. They recorded this song the day after my 35th birthday.

Because there are no details about what time the artists got together to record, I have set the clock for 12 noon. That makes it generic, rather than specific, but there still are two significant inconjuncts, between Pluto (conjunct the Moon) in Scorpio and Venus and Mars in Aries. Hmm.

Charting the Evolution

The Moon has its hand in the movement of emotion to help these starving Ethiopians: first as conjunct the first chart’s Ascendant in Capricorn; then in Taurus in the second chart (inconjunct the first chart’s Uranus); and finally, in Scorpio in the third chart (conjunct the first chart’s Pluto). By that time, everyone in the West was on board the idea of the charity record to raise money. Over the years, these themes would be revisited to aid other worthwhile endeavors.

How a Nazi Industrialist became “Righteous” during WWII

Oskar Schindler (April 28, 1908 – October 9, 1974)

By now, everybody knows who Oskar Schindler was: “a German industrialist and a member of the Nazi Party who is credited with saving the lives of 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust by employing them in his enamelware and ammunitions factories in occupied Poland and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. He is the subject of the 1982 novel Schindler’s Ark and its 1993 film adaptation, Schindler’s List, which reflected his life as an opportunist initially motivated by profit, who came to show extraordinary initiative, tenacity, courage, and dedication to save the lives of his Jewish employees.” (Wikipedia)

What is mostly missing from the story is that he started out as a spy for the Nazis in Czechoslovakia. This gave me a way to rectify his birth chart.

I had originally randomized the timing, but in doing so, I saw a line-up of planets that make sense when you tie them to events in his adult life: becoming a spy for the Nazis (Mars) at about age 25, and moving to Krakow, Poland (Venus/Pluto) by age 31. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes when the Yods pointing at the Sun and Ascendant suddenly appeared. (But I need to remind you that they only exist if the time is correct…)

Sun Inconjunct Ascendant

Your relationships with other people can be very intense. While you are young, they may be quite difficult, because you feel that others will accept you only if you deny yourself in some way. Or you may constantly feel you should put off doing what you want in order to do what you have to do. Usually your ideas about what you have to do come from the people around you. Also, contacts with other people will frequently force you to make serious, major psychological changes. Difficulties in your relationships with friends and family are signs of profound internal changes.

[Like working against his former employers.]

Sun Inconjunct Midheaven

While you are young, you will find it difficult to decide what to do with your life. The demands of the world may sometimes be hard to handle, because they don’t seem to take advantage of your natural abilities and instincts. Also, much of your time will be taken up with learning skills that do not seem at first to have much connection with reality. But don’t try to rush your life. Even if you can’t see why you should learn a skill, try it out anyway. Later on, its purpose may become clear.

[It seems to me that his spy skills may have given him a grounding in subterfuge when dealing with the German authorities. He effectively turned their spy craft against them.]

Neptune Inconjunct Ascendant

This aspect can be a sign that you feel you must give way to others in order to get along with them. This can take two forms, both of which will be difficult to handle while you are young. The less positive form is simply yielding to all outside pressure and always giving in to others’ desires. This will produce unconscious feelings of resentment that you can’t express, but that make your relationships with others rather difficult. And as you get older, if you do not learn to stand up for your rights, this problem will get worse, because you express your unconscious resentment as a martyred attitude, which makes it impossible for other to appreciate or use anything they get from you. Thus the results of your sacrifice are totally negative, because you are not happy with giving and they are not happy with receiving.

But the other, more positive, way of dealing with this energy is by giving freely before others try to take it away from you. In order to do this, you have to feel good about yourself and confident that you will always have enough for yourself and others. One side of you likes to help and take care of people and will not feel taken by those whom you give to. In the highest expression of this aspect, what you gain for yourself will not mean as much as what you gain for others, which is the effect you should work for.

[This is where his ‘righteousness’ comes from.]

Nothing more? Really?

“The Wellspring: Channelling for the White Brotherhood”

Reclaiming Your Power (26 August 1992)

Upheaval, ruination, devastation, destruction, wiping clean — such dark words, filling you with fear and apprehension. All around you old structures are crumbling. The end does indeed appear to be very near. Oh, ye of little faith! Has not all of this been foretold? Have you not been warned, and asked to prepare yourselves for major shake-ups and changes? Why are you, who know, so fearful? You know that these things have to be.

It is necessary to disconnect your emotional attachments to the useless ‘garbage’ that you have carried around for so long. It is necessary for you to lighten-up, not only your possessions, but expectations. It is necessary for you to learn to trust more, and to fear less.

Know you not that you are gods, able to create all that you need, able to manifest in your lives all that is necessary for your survival?

It is those who have forgotten their power that are suffering the privations that you see all around. It is those who have forgotten who they are who are starving, who are bankrupt, who are homeless, deprived in any way, shape or form. These people have forgotten who they are.

It is time for the masses to take back their power, to be released from bondage — the bondage of attitudes and victim consciousness.

This power can no longer be expressed through the domination of others. You are all well aware of the violence and destruction that you can create in your own environment. You are all aware of how capable you are to upset the balance of others in your cities; but is this a useful expression of your power, or a selfish display of anger, which is signifying nothing?

For you, who are able to come to terms with the God Light within you, that power can be expressed through creation, and not through destruction — through building, through growing, through developing and through peace — and it is in owning that power yourselves — not through domination — that you live each day of your lives to the full, creating whatever it is you feel you need for a full expression of your talents and abilities.

It is not necessary for each of you to be alike, or to follow the same road, or to have the same opinions, the same religions, same politics; but it is necessary that you honour one another, as you would honour and expect to be honoured yourselves.

Do not abuse that power, do not seek to dominate, or to put others right, but change what you can in your own attitudes and behaviour in the confines of your own homes. As this power is reclaimed, more challenging experiences will come your way to expand that power in a creative flow. The ripples, like those on the pond, will go wider, but the first place that you must start is peace and harmony within the home, and with those with whom you are intimately involved.

You are not capable, or able, to do more until that start has been made. We are needing Workers of the Light, we are needing more and more of you to take up the challenge of altered consciousness. Self-discipline within the home and the local environment is needed before you are able to do work in a wider field. So concentrate on self, and concentrate on that which is familiar. Sort that out, so that you can function in total peace within yourselves, and with those around you, in order to see the way of further service to the Creator.

How a Jewish Kid from Hell’s Kitchen Changed the World

Stanley Kramer (September 29, 1913 – February 19, 2001)

Courtesy of Wikipedia

Stanley Kramer was an independent film producer and director, responsible for making many of Hollywood’s ‘message films’. There were no topics he was unwilling to highlight, and in his own words:

Instead of relying on star names, we pinned our faith in stories that had something to say. If it happened to be something that other movies hadn’t said before, so much the better. The only basis of choice was personal taste.

Wikipedia
1963

“It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” was the first film I saw with Kramer’s name attached. Its message was simple: greed has made the world go mad. (Interesting, isn’t it, that a recent TV series about advertising executives, based in the same time period, was called “Mad Men”?)

Hmm.

Admittedly, no one knows Kramer’s birth time, so I have rectified his chart to reflect the age (32) when he married (Venus) for the first time. That brought two Yods into focus, one pointed at Uranus, the other at Pluto. The man could not be other than what he was: a radical socialist.

Venus Inconjunct Uranus

You feel mixed up about whether you want to be close to others or be free. When you are really close to a loved one, you feel smothered and want to get away by yourself to do what you want. But when you are alone and free to do what you want, you miss your loved ones and want to be with them. It will take you several years to understand yourself enough so that you can strike a between these two needs, so be patient.

Uranus Inconjunct Pluto (1892-1894 and 1911-1912)

This aspect indicates changes in the world of the people who were born at these times, changes that were difficult to understand because they were very revolutionary but subtle in many ways. The people born during the first period experienced the consequences of these changes through having to fight in the First World War. The second group reached maturity at the time of the Great Depression. Both the First World War and the Depression were expressions of the breakdown of the nineteenth-century world order that was dominated by Western Europe.

Pluto Inconjunct Midheaven

You may have trouble with older people who try to teach you how to effectively take control of your life. Even while you are young, you may resent their control over you and resist everything they are trying to teach you. To a great extent, your path in life will be shaped by your early confrontations with authority figures. Your parents would be well advised to give you as much control as possible over your own affairs and as much self-determination as you can handle. They should not try to keep an extremely tight rein on you, for if they do, you will explode and become very difficult to handle. Also your self-esteem would be damaged. Your parents and teachers should be very straightforward with you, because if you feel that people are not being honest with you, you will not be honest with them. You are quite capable of acting behind peoples’ backs if you consider it necessary or if you feel that you never get your own way.

(That’s were the independent streak comes from.)

.

.

Yes, he will be remembered for these four films, forever, as shall Spencer Tracy.

Global Meditation Works: Here’s the Proof

Harmonic Convergence (August 16, 1987)

Maybe it’s the innocence of the endeavour, or maybe it’s the need to ‘do something’ that brought people together on that fateful morning in 1987. Living in England at the time, I was aware of the event, without going to the Tor at Glastonbury, in person. There were already enough people participating, as it was.

As I’ve written about this before, I won’t belabour the point, except to discuss the inconjunct between the Moon and Uranus.

Moon Inconjunct Uranus

With this aspect you must learn to control sudden outbursts of emotion that occur at difficult times when you least expect it. Also your present home life may not be a stable situation in which you can grow up emotionally secure and confident. A particular incident when you were very young may have given you the feeling that you can’t count on anything or anyone for support. Later in life, you may try very hard to get away from anything that reminds you of your earliest childhood, even if your childhood has not been difficult. You just feel that you have to get away and go somewhere else.

Your relationship with your mother [Earth] may be rather unstable. She may be very involved in her own interests, which prevent her from being as close to you as she would be otherwise. She may be an unconventional person, a real free spirit. The problem is that your feelings about her are mixed, both loving and unloving. You may secretly resent her. Probably you don’t feel that you can express this consciously, but it could come out when you are angry or upset. Certainly this will result in not wanting to form close relationships with other people, especially women. And the people you do choose as close friends are likely to be exciting and different from anyone else you have known in the past. However, they may also be rather upsetting.

You should be encouraged to express your inner feelings and release the tensions that build up within you. In this way you will not be hurt by energies that you aren’t aware of in yourself.

The Earth Grid was Being Activated

Writing earlier this month, I noted that Fountain work had been aligning the global spiritual grid. The Harmonic Convergence was the first global meditation to be attempted during our lifetime. One action precipitated the other. Light was being activated in all corners of the world and for the very first time, Light was finally shining in the darkness and illuminating our hearts.

5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not understood it. (John 1:5 NIV)

Can an Immortal Being Die? Or is This Something Else?

Mahavatar Babaji (November 30, 203 – February 14, 1984)

Haidakhan Babaji

Yes, I’d heard of him before, but I hadn’t realized what a controversy his death caused. This man was supposed to be the latest version of Babaji, only to die of an apparent heart attack in 1984, after 14 years of spiritual work. Does this make him a fraud? Or does it indicate overshadowing by the Lord Shiva, instead?

This chart is randomized (and for once the Old Style and New Style calendars match on the day). There is nothing spectacular about it, and definitely no inconjuncts (but that could just be accidental). This is the purported birth of Babaji, so I cannot prove or disprove that idea.

But Babaji’s Death is Another Matter, Entirely

As usual, I set the clock for 12 noon (local time). This time there are three inconjuncts, all relying upon the correct time. Two of those inconjuncts (from Jupiter and Pluto) form a Yod pointing at Gemini Rising; the other inconjunct involves both the Moon and the Midheaven. So, none of this is real, but it could be inspired.

Comparing the Two Charts

Mercury in the natal chart @ 16° Scorpio matches the position of the ‘fatal’ Mars/Saturn conjunction. That indicates that it was time to leave. Mars in the natal chart is within 4° of the ‘fatal’ Sun in Aquarius, while the natal Sun @ 8° Sagittarius is opposite the ‘fatal’ Ascendant and conjunct the ‘fatal’ South Node/Uranus conjunction. The natal Venus @ 17° Capricorn is within 7° of the ‘fatal’ Venus and opposite the ‘fatal’ Moon. The timing couldn’t be better.

From 1977

Conclusion

and

So, he was the first Babaji and he was the last Babaji. And Lord Shiva was in them both.

The Beatles’ First Time on an American Television Show

The Ed Sullivan Show (February 9, 1964)

Obviously, I’ve written about this event before, in my ebook “At This Point in Time”. But, when I first looked at the chart, I was not focused on inconjuncts and the hidden agendas captured therein.

This took place on my 14th birthday. Since we didn’t have a television at the time, I watched the show on the neighbour’s living room TV through my bedroom window, in black ‘n’ white.

That Yod, pointing at Jupiter (the planet of Expansion) in Aries, is formed by two inconjuncts, Neptune in Scorpio and Pluto in Virgo. Unconsciously, that is the reason I originally considered naming this chart “The Beatles Conquer the USA.” The Americans didn’t stand a chance against their combined charm offensive. But there is one more inconjunct to consider: Mercury and the Midheaven.

Mercury Inconjunct Midheaven

It is very important that you develop your mind and your powers of thought, so that you can use them to attain whatever objectives you set for yourself. However, before you can accomplish this, you may have to solve certain problems. You may feel that there is a tension between your natural spontaneous views and what is taught by your parents and other adults. Even though their teachings seem perfectly reasonable, you want to think matters through for yourself. When you are older you may express this tension by making indiscreet remarks that totally get in the way of your objectives. (Such as, John Lennon’s “We are more popular than Jesus.”)

Jupiter Inconjunct Neptune

You are an idealist with very vivid dreams about how you want your life to be, and at certain times in your life you will follow those dreams with all your energy. But sometimes these idealistic dreams will let you down, because you are not concerned enough with what is real and possible.

Your idealism can be the source of much creative imagination, leading to profound insights and realizations, but only if you remain connected with the actual day-to-day universe in which the rest of the human race lives.

Jupiter Inconjunct Pluto

You have a great deal of creative power, and the major challenge of your life will be learning how to handle it. First of all, you must realize that you will get the most out of life if you direct your energies toward helping the people around you and those you love. You will want to change many conditions in the world, which is fine as long as your reasons are not purely selfish ones.

This Event is Karmically Linked to George

All the Beatles’ charts are on my computer program. I decided to look at them together with this event, individually. Only one seemed to be fully connected to it, astrologically.

I remember in my original post about the event that I identified the Beatles individually with the planets. That’s where I got the first inklings of describing George as the Mystic. But only now do I see how spot on that idea was in response to combining his chart with the event chart. George’s Neptune is (almost) exactly conjunct the event Ascendant @ 1° Libra. A-ha!

At the same time, George’s Venus and the event Venus are opposite that position @ 29° Pisces. George’s South Node @ 24° Aquarius, is at the end of the conjunction of the event Sun, Mars and Saturn, which is opposite the event Part of Fortune. The event Midheaven is about 3° from George’s Part of Fortune. Do you see what I mean? It was the moment George became visible.

Conclusion

This “Quiet” Beatle was Actually Profoundly “Deep”

George Harrison (February 25, 1943 – November 29, 2001)

This photo probably says it all: up to his neck in water. George Harrison was an enigma to most people, including some astrologers who decided to rectify his chart backward in time by 28 minutes in order to give him a Libra Ascendant. (I suspect they were thinking he was the peacemaker in The Beatles and tried to ‘prove’ it by altering his birth time.) But by backdating the time, they also changed his birth date by one day. That just doesn’t make sense to me.

This is the correct time. How do I know? The Moon, which is conjunct his Scorpio Ascendant, is also now in the 12th House, which fits his personality better. After all, he is Sun in Pisces.

That Yod linking Venus and Uranus with the Moon is quite significant, but the other inconjuncts are, too, as you shall see.

Sun Inconjunct Pluto

There will be many changes in your life, and you will be affected by deep psychological forces that may be difficult to understand at times, as well as confusing to the people around you. You approach people with great intensity, and your emotional involvements are seldom casual. Either you like people very much or you dislike them intensely. Possibly your attitudes on other matters will be extreme also. One of the most important lessons that you will have to learn is to be more moderate.

Moon Inconjunct Venus

You need to be loved, even more than most people, particularly by your mother or another woman who takes the place of your mother. This need for love will be the force behind many of your actions. If you don’t find the love you are looking for, you will develop an insecure hunger for love from everyone you meet. However, you may express this in very strange ways, such as a desire for food, especially sweets, which unconsciously represent love to you.

Moon Inconjunct Uranus

With this aspect you must learn to control sudden outbursts of emotion that occur at difficult times when you least expect it. Also your present home life may not be a stable situation in which you can grow up emotionally secure and confident. A particular incident* when you were very young may have given you the feeling that you can’t count on anything or anyone for support. Later in life, you may try very hard to get away from anything that reminds you of your earliest childhood, even if your childhood has not been difficult. You just feel that you have to get away and go somewhere else.

*It has been remarked upon that he was strongly against bullying…

Saturn Inconjunct Ascendant

With this aspect you probably have a rather serious attitude toward life and other people. It may be quite difficult for you to simply go out and have a good time. You want to be serious and to spend all your time performing significant tasks. This attitude may have developed because you were discouraged from enjoying yourself when you were younger. You may have been made to feel that only work is important, that play serves no useful purpose.

Uranus Inconjunct Ascendant

Your need to be free and do what you want is often in conflict with what others require of you and even with what you feel you ought to do. Sometimes this conflict can cause considerable physical and emotional tension. The task you face is to organize your life in a disciplined way that will enable you to satisfy your need for freedom through your everyday activities.

The Proof is in the Songs

“Within You, Without You”

We were talking about the space between us all
And the people who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth
Then it’s far too late
When they pass away
We were talking about the love we all could share
When we find it, to try our best to hold it there with our love
With our love, we could save the world, if they only knew

Try to realise it’s all within yourself
No one else can make you change
And to see you’re really only very small
And life flows on within you and without you

We were talking about the love that’s gone so cold
And the people who gain the world and lose their soul
They don’t know
They can’t see
Are you one of them?

When you’ve seen beyond yourself then you may find
Peace of mind is waiting there
And the time will come when you see we’re all one
And life flows on within you and without you

“Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)”

Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope, with this heavy load
Trying to, touch and reach you with,
heart and soul

“My Sweet Lord”

My sweet Lord
Hm, my Lord
Hm, my Lord

I really want to see you
Really want to be with you
Really want to see you Lord
But it takes so long, my Lord

My sweet Lord
Hm, my Lord
Hm, my Lord

I really want to know you
Really want to go with you
Really want to show you Lord
That it won’t take long, my Lord (Hallelujah)

Conclusion

I wrote a poem about George that I published here on WordPress. I called him a ‘mystic’.

Do You Wonder Why They’re Called “The Wonder Years”?

Dwight D. Eisenhower (October 14, 1890 – March 28, 1969)

May 29, 1959

My childhood took place during Dwight D Eisenhower‘s presidency. I have no conscious memory of anything before him. (In Canada, we had a couple or three Prime Ministers during the 1950’s, but none as significant as Ike on the world stage.)

It was during his presidential campaign that modern political advertising started, on TV:

In the run-up to the 1952 presidential election, a group of Republican donors were concerned about Dwight Eisenhower’s wooden public image. They turned to a Madison Avenue ad firm, Ted Bates, to create commercials for the exciting new device that was suddenly in millions of households. In Eisenhower Answers America, the first series of political spots in television history, a strenuously grinning Ike gave pithy answers to questions about the IRS, the Korean War, and the national debt. The ads marked the beginning of mass marketing in American politics. They also introduced ad-industry logic into the American political imagination: the idea that the right combination of images and words, presented in the right format, can predictably persuade people to act, or not act.

This mechanistic view of humanity was not without its skeptics. “The psychological premise of human manipulability,” Hannah Arendt wrote, “has become one of the chief wares that are sold on the market of common and learned opinion.” To her point, Eisenhower, who carried 442 electoral votes in 1952, would have likely won even if he hadn’t spent a dime on TV.

Joseph Bernstein / Harper’s Magazine

This chart was already on my computer program, and because of the conjunction between Saturn and his Ascendant in Virgo, I am inclined to leave it as it is. That’s the ‘wooden public image’ in effect. There is one inconjunct.

Mars Inconjunct Midheaven

This aspect can mean that you have mixed feelings about all authority figures, including your parents. You may feel that you have to violate the rules laid down by your parents in order to get your way. This is a significant problem, because if it continues into adulthood, you will have great difficulties with employers. Therefore it is very important that your parents teach you how to express your self-assertive drives without going against their teachings. Unfortunately it is impossible to state how that should be done, because the conflict between self-will, on one hand, and self-denial and work, on the other, is different for each person.

A way to solve this kind of conflict is to learn that you can say what needs to be said and not be forced to remain quiet. You can’t expect your elders to always go along with your ideas, but you should be able to feel confident of your right to say it. The exception to this, of course, is that you do not have any right to say something just to hurt others.

(And maybe, just maybe, the best way is to join the armed forces and become a General…)

Ike’s Death Signaled the End of an Era

That Yod pointing at Saturn, from Uranus and Pluto says it all: the counter-culture revolution of the late 60’s blew away all the securities that Americans had built into their daily ‘white-bread’ lives. That’s why they were called the Wonder Years…

Here’s a Button from 1952

Doesn’t it remind you of the Pepsi Cola badge? Hmm.

So, That Leaves This Last Man Standing

Patrick Leahy (May 31, 1940)

In 2009

The extended comparison of Roman Emperors with United States Presidents leaves just one position unaccounted for: who would be the likely fourth person if history repeated itself. I’m not entirely sure Patrick Leahy is the best candidate for the job, but he’s all we have right now.

The timing of this chart is on several astrology websites, so I’ll stick with it. For once, there are no hidden agendas (meaning, no inconjuncts). But I appreciate that his Ascendant is very close to my own. Perhaps we’re spiritual brothers, both connected to Vespasian.

Leahy’s Moon is conjunct Vespasian’s ‘fatal’ South Node and his natal Moon. Hmm. And Leahy’s Mars is conjunct Vespasian’s natal North Node. And I love that Leahy’s Venus is conjunct Vespasian’s ‘fatal’ Mercury and natal Jupiter. We cannot entirely trust the timing of Vespasian’s birth, so Leahy’s Jupiter is conjunct Vespasian’s natal Uranus (and perhaps his natal Ascendant).

Leahy’s Uranus is conjunct Vespasian’s ‘fatal’ Jupiter @ 23° Libra, while Leahy’s North Node is within 7° of Vespasian’s ‘fatal’ North Node and his natal Saturn. So, yes, these two men are karmically connected, and they might even be past life/reincarnations of each other.

One Final Point
