The Legend of the Roman Founding Twins

As legend would have it, Romulus and Remus found Rome. (OK. That sounds just like something written in 1066 and All That. But you get what I mean.) Along the way, it was decided that it was on this day in 753 BCE that it happened. And then the twins fought each other for supremacy and Romulus won, by killing his brother: fratricide.

If their father was truly Mars, then I guess that makes perfect sense. But is it true?

The Gregorian calendar changes the date to April 13th, so that’s unfortunate (for some). The time I chose was the start of the business day. If I’d chosen 6 am, the result would have been quite different.

So, fortunately for me, the Ascendant is in the last 3 minutes of Gemini. That seems auspicious. And there’s only one inconjunct:

Saturn Inconjunct Neptune

This aspect can have a variety of effects, one of which may be difficulty in relating fantasy and imagination, on one hand, to reality, duty, obligation and work, on the other. Usually the reality, duty and work aspect of the combination is dominant, at least at first. Your imaginative side tends to be transformed into nervousness, fear and irrational anxieties. The most negative manifestation of this aspect is a feeling that you have to keep a tight lid on yourself and that if you look inside yourself too closely, you will find only emptiness and disintegration. It is difficult for you to realize that this is not the truth about your inner self.

It’s interesting that the United States of America styles itself as the reincarnation of the Republic of Rome.

So, where is Mars? It’s @ 21º Pisces in the 10th House.

Mars: Military leaders; surgeons; persons liable to die; engineers; agitators, incendiaries, criminals and crimes of violence; epidemics of infectious and contagious diseases; wars.

Mars in Pisces

You are quite sensitive, and if you aren’t feeling cheerful, you don’t have much energy. People with Mars in Pisces often require more sleep at night than others do.

The chief problem with this position is that it is difficult for you to be very self-assertive. You may let people take advantage of you because you are unsure that you are right or justified in going ahead with your own plans. Kahlil Gibran: Artist, Poet, Prophet

The Prophet

This book had a profound influence on me when I read it during the 1970’s. In fact, I would go so far as to suggest that my spiritual poetry developed because of him. So, you can imagine that it came as a complete surprise to learn today that Kahlil Gibran was influenced by William Blake and Walt Whitman. Talk about coming full circle…

In fact, my second wife and I incorporated this quote into our wedding vows (July 15, 1978):

His Birth Chart

As always, other astrologers have looked at his birth chart, and their consensus is that he was born at 4 in the morning. The certitude for that time is missing, so I have rectified his chart. The timing is based on his falling in love with Mary Haskell at age 21, signified by the position of Venus @ 9º Sagittarius. The fact that Venus is conjunct the Moon and both are opposite his Gemini Rising makes this feel more authentic.

There are two inconjuncts, and they are both dependent on the timing, so if I’m wrong they won’t have any meaning for him. Shall we have a look?

Mars Inconjunct Ascendant

Th difficulty with this aspect is to find a balance between getting what you want in life and getting along with others. More than most people, you will have to learn the necessity of compromising to get along with people, especially because you often seem more aggressive than you are. While you are young, the need to compromise may be frustrating, because youth is a time when your needs seem especially urgent and demanding. At times you may feel that nothing is going your way, that you continually have to give in to others and put your own needs aside. However, it is not really this bad. You do not actually have to compromise any more than anyone else, but you are more reluctant to do so.

Uranus Inconjunct Midheaven

You need to express your thoughts and feelings, but you often upset the people around you with your words. You seem to enjoy creating a stir every time you say something, but this can get you into quite a bit of trouble with parents, teachers and authority figures. The underlying principle of this aspect is the need to balance your individual self-expression and manner of communicating with your need to learn and grow under the guidance of older people.

Certainly you will discover your own routes to what you want in life. Now you need to be given the confidence and encouragement to look for these routes on your own with total freedom.

Heaven is for Real

It’s funny how little bits of truth start to add up to a greater picture of how things work. I’ve been posting real life stories of near death experiences (NDEs) over that past few days, and there is a constant theme of family love, and a surprising twist: how music plays a large part in life after death. This is Colton Burpo’s version of an NDE.

“Hey, Colton, if we turn here, we can go back to the hospital,” I said. “Do you wanna go back to the hospital?”

Our preschooler giggled in the dark. “No, Daddy, don’t send me! Send Cassie . . . Cassie can go to the hospital!”

Sitting next to him, his sister laughed. “Nuh-uh! I don’t wanna go either!”

In the passenger seat, Sonja turned so that she could see our son, whose car seat was parked behind mine. I pictured his blond crew cut and his sky-blue eyes shining in the dark. “Do you remember the hospital, Colton?” Sonja said.

Intriguing, for sure.

Lots of people have expressed skepticism that this could have ever taken place, since he sat of Jesus’ lap, saw Mary praying at an altar, and met his slightly older sister who had died before she was born. So, I am going to look at his birth chart, and I’m timing his birth so that his ‘event’ would be just two months before his 4th birthday (Pluto).

Okay. There are plenty of inconjuncts, three of which are dependent on the timing of his birth. But the two that don’t depend on the timing being correct are Saturn and Venus pointing a Yod (Finger of God) at Pluto. That makes this ‘real’ for me.

Again, because of his innocence at the time, I am not going to delineate that configuration, but the astrologers reading this post will probably come to their own conclusions. Just note that Venus represents family love (from his sister on the other side). Saturn represents his father.

How to Live an Authentic Life

Dying To Be Me

This is the book that Eben Alexander talks about in his lectures. It is a different take on the whole NDE, subsequent healing and then spiritual renewal. The quote that came up when I opened my Kindle version again, after all these years was this:

I WANT TO CLARIFY THAT MY HEALING wasn’t so much born from a shift in my state of mind or beliefs as it was from finally allowing my true spirit to shine through. Many have asked me if something like positive thinking caused my recovery, and the answer is no. The state I was in during my NDE was way beyond the mind, and I healed because my damaging thoughts were simply out of the way completely. I was not in a state of thinking, but a state of being. It was pure consciousness—what I call magnificence! This state of Oneness transcends duality. I was able to get in touch with who I truly am, the part of me that’s eternal, infinite, and encompasses the Whole.

Anita Moorjani was stuck in a very restrictive life. In some ways, her cancer was a manifestation of her need to be free. But it went too far, and instead of dying, she had a Near Death Experience.

Her story is the road back from that ‘place’. Or as she puts it:

Birth Chart

I could not find Anita’s birth time anywhere, so I rectified her chart by having Pluto represent her at just under 47 years of age when the NDE happened. Fortunately, this does not create an anomaly where an aspect is ‘dependent’ on the exact time being correct. In other words, the day itself is enough to view what she was born to struggle with: Capricorn Rising, meaning being held in place by the mask she had to wear; the Moon in Gemini, showing the need to change her emotional response to life; and Saturn in the 12th House, making her subject to whatever patriarchal system was operating.

But the Moon ends up being pointed to by two inconjuncts, thereby forming a Yod (Finger of God), with the connecting planets Saturn and Uranus. To me, this represents the energies of Capricorn and Aquarius. Which one would win in the end?

The NDE Chart

Again, I couldn’t find an accurate time, but I’m going off from the idea that the coma started in the morning, resulting in the doctors suggesting she would die within 4 hours.

Now the struggle between Saturn and Uranus takes on a direct connection, an inconjunct between them. Note, too, that her birth Ascendant is Capricorn, the NDE’s is Aquarius.

If either of these planets is near conjunction or opposition with the Ascendant or Midheaven, this aspect indicates a serious tension in your life between freedom and restriction. Many people have this conflict, but in your case the tensions may be so severe that you express them physically as muscle tension and possibly nervousness. You feel that somehow you must keep everything in your life under tight control, that if you let go, the whole structure will fall apart. In a very real and direct sense, even while you are young, you must learn to relax.

On the positive side, if you can learn to live with this tension a bit and express your feelings and emotions before they reach the breaking point, you can be extremely patient and persistent. You will be able to accomplish many tasks that others would give up on, if you do not hold in all your feelings and desires for freedom.

Your parents should understand that sometimes you have to let go and act in an undisciplined manner. Otherwise you will go through periods of great turmoil when you become extremely nervous and tense, so that you have to suddenly release all of the built-up emotional tension. This can be quite a difficult experience. And if this pattern of sudden disruptive emotional release continues into adulthood, it could be very disruptive to your career as well as in your personal life. If you have a problem, try to express it and talk to others about it instead of being stoical and keeping it to yourself. You can do this very well, but there are times when you need other people. Learning to handle people and the tensions that arise in relationships is important.

So this is where the proof of the timing comes through loud and clear. There are two Yods: her natal Mars is inconjunct to the ‘event’ Venus and Jupiter; and her natal Pluto and Midheaven are both inconjunct to the ‘event’ Moon. The whole thing is perfectly tied together.

And one more inconjunct seals the deal: Anita’s natal Saturn is inconjunct the NDE Saturn. (As in, the only way to break out of a restrictive situation is to use the same energy against it.)

So The Question Is: Did It Really Happen?

Proof of Heaven

Eben Alexander’s story of his Near Death Experience has puzzled journalists and scientists ever  since he shared it with the world. Fortunately, he gave us a way to check it out astrologically.

“At 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 10, 2008, I suddenly became very ill with acute bacterial meningoencephalitis. Within four hours, I was deep in coma; I spent the next seven days comatose, on a ventilator.”

Of all the inconjuncts in this ‘event’ chart, there is a set that stand out: Saturn Inconjunct Neptune, and Neptune Inconjunct Midheaven, forming a Yod (Finger of God), pointing at Neptune. Saturn represents “death” and Neptune represents “hidden matters”. Couldn’t be clearer…

Another danger of this kind of teaching by your parents is that it can lead to feelings of guilt and inner unworthiness, which could really make it difficult for you to succeed in life.

With this aspect you may have to build up your self-confidence considerably while you are young and learn that you are as worthy as anyone else. Even though these are your learning years, when you must develop a great deal of discipline, you still deserve as much consideration as anyone else. Your natural tendency is to yield to authority, so that those people who are most influential in your life, including your parents, should be very careful about how they exercise their authority over you. If they try to control you too much, or if they make you feel that you just aren’t able to manage your own affairs, it will be difficult to correct the effects of this negative later in life.

You are very impressionable, in that you pick up energies around you very quickly. Therefore it is very important that you be surrounded by wholesome influences in your early years, because negative influences will weaken your self-esteem and make it much more difficult to accomplish anything when you are older. On the other hand, your impressionableness may give rise to some psychic ability, or at least a very sharp intuition when you are older.

While you are young, you won’t have a clear idea of what you want to do in life. In fact you may never orient your life around a single idea or purpose. But don’t worry. Your purpose in life may not be the one that is readily defined in terms of career or profession. More important may be your style of living or your experience of life. Simply learn to always be aware and to learn whatever there is to be learned. With your sensitivity and intuition you can understand much more than other people, especially those who have wrapped their lives around their career or profession.

So the energies when viewed together explain the timing as being precise: the ‘event’ Midheaven is exactly opposite Eben’s birth Ascendant. And Eben’s birth Moon is within 1º of the ‘event’ Neptune (which means that the Yod is fully triggered emotionally).

This is reflected in his experience on the ‘other’ side: meeting his birth sister (see above).

Conclusion

Do you remember the child from Heaven is for Real? Colton Burpo also had a NDE. And who did he meet on the other side? His dead sister, whom he did not know in ‘real’ life. It was this detail that made his parents realize that it was a true experience for him.

We think we can ‘prove’ just about anything, but we’re kidding ourselves. Only when we pass through the ‘pearly’ gates will we know for sure, and then it’s too late to come back and share that with others.

Therefore, we should be grateful for all those who have gone before us to that other place. The tie-in for me is the use of Music to be in contact of the Spiritual Realms.

Follow the Yellow Gold Road

The Map of Heaven

This is the second book from Eben Alexander. The first book, Proof of Heaven, took the world by storm. The reason I’m coming back to this series is that I watched a longish YouTube video of his speech to The Theosophical Society last night.

But first, I should like to introduce you to:

Those eyes have IT. But when he experienced his NDE, he had no eyes to see his ‘vision’ of the afterlife; just consciousness. That’s a tricky thing for a neurosurgeon.

There have been birth charts done for him. The timing of his birth is based on a friend of his birth mother’s recollection of the night. So, everybody and his uncle have used 2:42 am on December 11, 1953, Charlotte, NC. (And they added that the information is not reliable, and has been shown to be contradictory.)

They could have rectified his chart, if they’d been paying attention to his life story, especially the part about being given up for adoption at the age of 4 months, because his birth mother was a sophomore in high school. So I have set his birth time to 7 hours later, leaving the minutes at 42 (the answer to everything).

Now, doesn’t that make sense? His loss of faith would therefore be somehow connected to Pluto at age 47, his becoming an MD at 26 years of age (Uranus), and his exploration of the world of knowledge at the tender age of 12.5 years (Jupiter). I think it all fits.

I won’t delineate his inconjuncts, except to point out that they seem symmetrical.

Hang On: Did We Miss a Step?

The 4th Dimension

This morning the following quote from 3 years ago today came up on my Facebook memories:

Confederation sources frequently have said that we are already enjoying the first light of fourth density. This and many other communications of the same tenor lead me to feel that this shift into fourth density is not to take the form of a rapture, ascension or some apocryphal catastrophe, but is rather a process that has already begun and will continue for many years and even centuries to come.

Notice the term ‘fourth density’. Is that the same as the 4th Dimension? My understanding is that 4D is about the heart centre in our bodily chakra system.

We Are: a Long, Long Way from Home

When you visit another country, you see things differently. I mean that term literally.

My newly opened eyes saw how much poverty was there. I mean, if a former betting office is closed, what chance do the rest of the businesses have? In my estimation, two out of every three shops were closed, or so it seemed, in the heartland of the Irish.

It brought me back to the day I returned to Barrie, Ontario after an absence of 30 years. The city had grown so much in those intervening years, the population had quadrupled. And there were shopping plazas and malls everywhere, mostly where there’d been only fields before. My immediate thought was, “How can so many stores survive?”

Well, now the chickens have come home to roost.

COVID-19 has shut down everything non-essential and most of the mom-and-pop shops are going to be soon out of business. But I’m not surprised.

Bringing Us to Our Knees

If (and I say ‘if’ because no one really wants to believe it) the pandemic was somehow purposely released on an unsuspecting humanity as the new ‘common enemy’ (a “false flag” event) then the ultimate reason was to shut down the economy in every country in the world. And after only a month or so, look how desperate things are becoming.

The governments want to be seen to be doing everything in their power to mitigate the disaster that has befallen us, so stimulus money has been ‘magicked’ out of nowhere (borrowed from the IMF, probably) to prop up the suddenly unemployed and their employers. Only one problem: there aren’t enough people working at the big banks to accommodate everyone’s loan needs at once. Oops.

New World Order

The NWO is probably wanting to act NOW. They can point to governmental failings all over the world. “Quick, we can save you!” It’s the oldest trick: create a situation; scare everyone to death; and then solve the problem. We fall for it every time.

Now that we’ve been in financial and social lockdown for a month, people are becoming restless. We’re not used to so much leisure time. Add to that fact the need to shelter where we are, we are also feeling ‘cabin fever’ of being cooped up.

Now some people are wanting to get back to work. In their opinion, the pandemic response was overblown. And they can’t afford to be broke anymore. They would rather have a lot more ‘undesirables’ die than to starve themselves.

“When will they ever learn?”

Conclusion

We are being treated like sheep, but there is only one Good Shepherd.

Jesus said “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and to God the things that are God’s.” (Matthew 22:21)

(And remember that Matthew’s former job was a tax collector for the Romans.)

So, the question remains: what are the things of God?

Answer: WE ARE (a long, long way from home)!

Russia Suffered a Nuclear Accident…

This might be consider ‘old news’ now, but it is still interesting to speculate as to what happened on August 8th, 2019: evidently, there was a missile accident, and the American news media decided it was a nuclear test of some kind. Well, maybe not an ‘accident’ after all…

Over the years, I’ve looked at charts of interesting events, like this one from the 80’s.

The impression I’ve had is that a Yod (Finger of God) represents something acting outside of our conscious control. Call it a Cosmic Response, for want of a better term.

In the chart of an individual, this can show up as something that undermines, or challenges that person, thereby making them try harder, to be a better human being.

In an ‘event’ chart, it signals an Act of God, or an action by a UFO. There, I’ve said it now.

This chart’s Yod is pointing at the Sun, and is formed by inconjuncts to Saturn and Neptune. (They aren’t the only inconjuncts in this chart, but they are the most influential, in my opinion.) So let’s look at those two inconjuncts, to see what their meaning’s are.

Sun Inconjunct Saturn

You may feel that persons, forces or circumstances are conspiring to prevent you from doing what you want. You may be limited by fear or by the belief that you don’t deserve to get what you want. With this aspect there is a danger that your frustrated energies will turn into physical ailments that further limited your freedom of action.

Sometimes you may be afraid to get the freedom to do what you want, for the rigid structure and rules that you are forced to live under seem to give you a feeling of security. At the same time, however, part of you does want to be free.

Sun Inconjunct Neptune

You are very sensitive to your environment and to the people around you. On one level of your being, you feel what is going on very acutely. Unfortunately your understanding often comes in terms that are very difficult to communicate to others, because their meaning is not clear in your own mind. Your greatest danger is being exposed to negative people who are full of anger or depression or who act very harshly toward you and undermine your self-confidence.

“In Horary Astrology the solar system bodies are subject to the following interpretation:

“Sun: The querent — if a man. Rich and powerful relations; the person in authority, from whom an honor or favor is desired.

“Saturn: Persons who, through narrowness of outlook, endanger the success of querent; aged and conservative or indigent friends or relatives; if unfavorably aspected, a person with ulterior motive.

“Neptune: Those concerned with the investigation of scientific or metaphysical secrets; profoundly wise and eccentric individuals, geniuses, prophets, spiritual counsellors; persons of mysterious origin.”

There was that any clearer?

Conclusion

It’s fascinating that the Americans dubbed this missile program “Skyfall”. Seems appropriate, somehow. Was James Bond involved?
