Who Missed Fatal Flight 752?

Flight-752-A-Canadian-Tragedy-Special-Coverage-1024x576

A Canadian Tragedy

It’s still early days. Anything I write will be pure speculation, and a matter of personal opinion. But a couple of points stood out for me during the press coverage yesterday.

There seems to be a discrepancy in the number of passengers that were supposed to be on board. Originally, there was discussion of Iranian officials saying that 168 passengers and 9 crew members on the flight manifesto. An even number of seats would make sense. But when the bodies were recovered the total was 176, not 177.

Also, that one hour delay before takeoff also concerns me slightly. Perhaps there was an abundance of caution because of the missiles being launched into Iraq earlier in the night. But the nagging doubt in my mind is that they had been waiting for a late arrival.

This one hour delay may have been the reason for the crash to happen 3 minutes into the flight, instead of 1 hour into it, when the plane would have been over Turkey on its way to Kyiv in Ukraine.

The Chart

CrashFlight752WREJC1A

It’s a peculiar sensation to look at essentially the same chart as yesterday’s ‘slap in the face’ but see some different aspects appear. This time the conjunctions of Mercury, the Sun, Saturn and Pluto are now square to the Midheaven. That makes it a career move.

And there are two inconjuncts, the first one involving Mars and Uranus, which we saw yesterday. The second one is new.

Moon Inconjunct Mercury

As you grow older, you will have to learn to make your feelings and your reason work together. The problem is not so much that they come into conflict with each other, but that your reason and feelings represent two very different sides of your personality. When you are calm and collected and able to reflect carefully, you make decisions in one way. But when you are emotionally involved in a situation, you are likely to make up your mind very differently, which could cause you to seem inconsistent to others and make it difficult for them to understand you.

For the same reasons, it may be hard for you to put your feelings into words, because your emotions are so different from your intellect. Of course, there is nothing really strange about your feelings, but that part of your mind is quite different from the reasoning part. In fact it would be very unfortunate if you decided to listen only to your reason, because your intuition and imagination, both of which are more related to the Moon, can be of great assistance to you. They can tell you much about the world that your reasoning mind cannot.

On the other hand, you shouldn’t allow your feelings to overrun your reason. The best thing to do whenever there seems to be a conflict between these two areas is to not make a decision immediately. Reflect and wait for further information that might help you make up your mind. As you get older, this problem should lessen considerably, and you should be able to make decisions more and more rapidly.

Conclusion

Major General Qasem Soleimani had some ‘plans’ before he was taken out of the picture by the United States (at least according to President Trump). What if one of those plans was to ‘kill three birds with one stone’?

This goes back to the idea that 9-11 was an inside job (the last time Saturn and Pluto were in a hard aspect with each other). Canada is a proxy for the United States. If Canadians of Iranian descent were killed in an air crash over Turkey, three things would have resulted:

1. It would have seemed like an attack on Iran;

2. American interests (in Ukraine) would have been harmed;

3. NATO (in Turkey) would have been implicated.

Now, really, who would have benefited? The warmongers, for sure.

But something went wrong. There are no accidents.

plane-profile-flight-752-daigle-080120

Post Script: According to intelligence sources, the Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752 was brought down by a missile launch. They have radar to ‘prove’ it. (And various cell phone videos capturing the moment of the missile exploding. How did they know?)

So, unlike yesterday’s ‘slap in the face’, this is more like Iran ‘shooting itself in the foot’.

I Am a Man of Infinite Possibility

Mr. Nobody (2009)

I’m surprised I haven’t written a review of this film before now. Perhaps I did, but only on Facebook. My daughter, Rosanna, suggested I watch it (as she’s a fan of Jared Leto).

So, what can I say? It seems to be the story of my life. Because of the ability to change paths anytime life gets too complicated, Mr. Nemo shows what fractals of one’s personality can be like. To keep the different paths ‘clear’ to the viewer, the director gave them three distinct colours.

2m2ic9j

The hue of any scenes with each of these three young girls (as grown-up love interests for Nemo) would be coloured with the same primary shades (of yellow, blue and red) as seen in this image. That way, you can have a visual clue when he changes track.

And in case you missed it, his birthday is the same as mine, just in a different year.

Iran Gives U.S. ‘a Slap in the Face’

03b5d143215bd4317054d75bb74705114b526605

Is This an Act of War, or Just an Act of Revenge?

Usually when one entity slaps another, the implied challenge is justification for a duel.

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, has ‘punished’ the United States of America for the assassination of their top General Qasem Soleimani, last Friday morning.

But their missiles seem to have (slightly) missed their intended targets.

Was that on purpose?

As part of this lead-up to the Saturn/Pluto conflict set for next Sunday, this would be totally in keeping with the Capricorn mindset of the conjunction.

In other words, restraint.

The Provocation

KillingOasemSoleimaniWREJC1

Note the Grand Trine involving the Saturn/Pluto conjunction and the Ascendant and the Midheaven. This timing looks almost astrologically driven. Also note that there are no inconjuncts. This is not a ‘message’ from God. This was an act of a nation against a man.

The Response

StrikesIranianMissileWREJC2A

See: timing is everything. The Iranians needed to mourn their dead hero, and then they waited another day and another hour before striking back at American and Coalition airbases in Iraq. But according to the Iraqis, the Iranians warned them that the missile attacks were imminent. In other words, ‘get the hell out of Dodge’ before they land.

Moon Inconjunct Jupiter

We saw this one in yesterday’s post, so I won’t repeat it, but it is interesting to note that the inconjunct will be on the other side of the opposition line by the time Sunday comes.

Venus Inconjunct Uranus

You feel mixed up about whether you want to be close to others or be free. When you are really close to a loved one, you feel smothered and want to get away by yourself to do what you want. But when you are alone and free to do what you want, you miss your loved ones and want to be with them. It will take you several years to understand yourself enough so that you can strike a balance between these two needs, so be patient.

Your uncertainty about love and freedom will be even greater if one of your parents doesn’t seem to really love you steadily, if you feel you cannot count on that parent when you need help. This would make you feel that love is somehow unreliable, that you cannot depend on anyone who loves you. As a result, you won’t permit anyone to depend on you either.

This belief may make you irresponsible in relationships, so that you won’t fulfill people’s expectations even when you have agreed to do so. Don’t promise love that you cannot deliver. While you are young this is not a great problem, but when you are older, you will hurt your partner in a relationship by not being dependable or by not not being honest about your dependability. You may tell yourself that you want a steady love relationship, but then go after someone whom you know intuitively will not be reliable. But if you are honest about your need for freedom, this will not happen.

Mercury Inconjunct Midheaven

It is very important that you develop your mind and your powers of thought, so that you can use them to attain whatever objectives you set for yourself. However, before you can accomplish this, you may have to solve certain problems. You may feel that there is a tension between your natural spontaneous views and what is taught by your parents and other adults. Even though their teachings seem perfectly reasonable, you want to think matters through for yourself. But while you are young, you may not be able to accept your own ideas as valid if they contradict what you have been taught. Yet you cannot simply suppress your own ways of thinking. If you try, you will create tension and probably a gap between what you are trying to do and what you say. When you are older you may express this tension by making indiscreet remarks that totally get in the way of your objectives.

Recognize this tension within yourself and try to accept the fact that it exists. At the same time you should look for ways to resolve by learning how to think what you want to think and still accomplish your objectives. Just make sure as you get older that you set your own objectives rather than fulfilling other people’s expectations for you. Otherwise the problem of tension could get worse, and you could wind up very confused.

It is very important that you remember not to speak impulsively. If you do, it is very likely that you will put your foot in your mouth. Consider what you are going to say and how your words can further your objectives.

Neptune Inconjunct Midheaven

With this aspect you may have to build up your self-confidence considerably while you are young and learn that you are as worthy as anyone else. Even though these are your learning years, when you must develop a great deal of discipline, you still deserve as much consideration as anyone else. Your natural tendency is to yield to authority, so that those people who are most influential in your life, including your parents, should be very careful about how they exercise their authority over you. If they try to control you too much, or if they make you feel that you just aren’t able to manage your own affairs, it will be difficult to correct the effects of this negative influence later in life.

You are very impressionable, in that you pick up the energies around you very quickly. Therefore it is very important that you be surrounded by wholesome influences in your early years, because negative influences will weaken your self-esteem and make it much more difficult to accomplish anything when you are older. On the other hand, your impressionableness may give rise to some psychic ability, or at least a very sharp intuition when you are older.

While you are young, you won’t have a clear idea of what you want to do in life. In fact you may never orient your life around a single idea or purpose. But don’t worry. Your purpose in life may not be one that is readily defined in terms of a career or profession. More important may be your style of living or your experience of life. Simply learn to always be aware and to learn whatever there is to be learned. With your sensitivity and intuition you can understand much more than other people, especially those who have wrapped their lives around their career or profession.

Conclusion

According to Wikipedia, the Iranian Revolution took place in 1979:

“Demonstrations against the Shah commenced in October 1977, developing into a campaign of civil resistance that included both secular and religious elements, and which intensified in January 1978. Between August and December 1978, strikes and demonstrations paralyzed the country. The Shah left Iran for exile on 16 January 1979, as the last Persian monarch, leaving his duties to a regency council and Shapour Bakhtiar who was an opposition-based prime minister. Ayatollah Khomeini was invited back to Iran by the government, and returned to Tehran to a greeting by several million Iranians. The royal reign collapsed shortly after on 11 February when guerrillas and rebel troops overwhelmed troops loyal to the Shah in armed street fighting, bringing Khomeini to official power. Iran voted by national referendum to become an Islamic republic on 1 April 1979 and to formulate and approve a new theocratic-republican constitution whereby Khomeini became Supreme Leader of the country in December 1979.”

This means that the ‘modern’ version of this ancient nation is 40 years old. The country wants to be treated like an adult, not an unruly teenager. But the United States of America has yet to allow that to happen. So, the provocations that Soleimani carried out through proxies and other allies have finally resulted in his elimination by Trump.

It also makes an interesting diversion from Trump’s domestic troubles.

Everyone is claiming that they don’t want war. Really?

The Upcoming Saturn/Pluto Conflict

55ff3347289563e43bb8a252acf833ff

See Matthew 26:52 for the full version

I’ve been charting the motions of Saturn and Pluto since their proximity came to my attention in June. Even the Gemini full Moon in December had a surprise element to it.

But now I want to look at the moment when Saturn and Pluto are conjunct this month.

StrikeFirstWREJC1

There are a great many interesting things about this ‘event’ chart. First and foremost, though, is the stellium of the Sun, Mercury, Saturn, Pluto and the Ascendant in Capricorn. That’s a very powerful bunch of energies in the space of 1º or so.

The Moon gets her say, too. It is square to Uranus and the Midheaven, trine to Mars, and inconjunct to Jupiter. (I’ll return to that inconjunct in a minute.)

Neptune is trine to the Midheaven. And Venus is square to Mars. A recipe for war?

Moon Inconjunct Jupiter

This aspect indicates that you have a positive, optimistic outlook on life, and enjoy socializing with good friends. However, there are some dangers with this aspect. First, it can be a sign that you are self-indulgent and possibly even selfish, although this is not likely to happen if you have a good, strong relationship with your mother. You have a great need to be cared for and supported, to be accepted for what you are with no strings attached. If this need is fulfilled, the positive side of this aspect will flourish. But if your mother does not support your needs fully, you will feel insecure and will look elsewhere for support and fulfillment. In this case your concern will be totally for yourself with little thought for other people’s needs.

This problem may show up in several different ways. For instance, you might simply have a desire to eat too much, as if food were love. Or you may be wanting things that other people own. You might be afraid of the world and be reluctant to leave your comfortable and surroundings. Some people with this aspect stay tied too closely to their mother.

On the other hand, if you feel emotionally secure and accepted, then you will be able to give others the support that you would otherwise have been seeking for yourself. You will help others in their times of need, share what you have with those who have less, and find great satisfaction in taking care of people and animals.

May I sound a note of quiet positivity? The fires in Australia have brought the world’s attention to the plight of the people and the animals. Might this aspect show that, rather than war, people will unite to help them? Prayers are already proving effective.

Conclusion

Mother Earth is in trouble. Is war the best way to help her? NO!

The Saturn/Pluto conjunction may be the turning point in the fight against climate change. In less than a week, we shall see what the energies will do. First strike?

At the Sunset of One’s Life…

Mexican Sunset image copyright Anne Hayward 2020 (via Facebook)

Everything Becomes Crystal Clear

I am trying to be transparent, here.

My sister, Anne’s Mexican Sunset image is so perfect!

She’s become such a gifted photographer recently. She may have been so, all her life.

And that (almost) subliminal “X” on the outside of the sho(r)t glass makes this a ‘special’ photograph in my eyes.

Now: what am I really trying to say?

There’s No Need For Pretense

In just over a month’s time, I shall be turning 70 years of age. (I was going to write ’70 years old’, but I don’t feel “old”.)

I’m feeling clear. In all its definitions. That’s an amazing thing.

The need to explain myself, to justify my existence, to excuse my past mistakes, is fading like the sunlight in the photo.

I can now eXit stage left or stage right and ‘my’ life will go on.

But my passing from this world will be in a blaze of glorious colour.

IF It’s a Good Day to Die, It’s also a Good Day to Live!

Modern Art: What’s It Worth?

hqdefault

Heartbeat: House Rules (Season 12, Episode 22)

This show, as always, is full of nostalgia for the 60’s. And, once in a while, it raises questions about cultural issues.

The comedy part of this week’s show (being shown on TVO last night) raised the question about abstract art.

big_ben_by_animeleadervi_d6j5j1g-fullview

This is NOT the painting featured on the show, but it’s the closest representation I could find. The show’s painting was more in bright sixties shades of red, yellow and blue, and only the tower was discernible. There were three other paintings, equally obscure: one was supposedly of Trafalgar Square (but not that you could tell).

The woman (Babs Crane) who owned them decided to sell them to raise some money. They went for £10 each. Then Vernon Scripps read a newspaper article about how valuable they might be as a set to an art dealer, so he offered to buy them from the other owners, for about the same amount as their original purchase price.

Then he went to Whitby (I think) to see what he could get for the set. He came back with a Rolls Royce.

Conclusion

The question in the title was answered during the course of the episode:

“However much someone is willing to pay for it.”

A Thoroughly Modern Mystic

TeilhardP_1955

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955)

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, (born May 1, 1881, Sarcenat, France—died April 10, 1955, New York City, New York, U.S.), French philosopher and paleontologist known for his theory that man is evolving, mentally and socially, toward a final spiritual unity. Blending science and Christianity, he declared that the human epic resembles “nothing so much as a way of the Cross.” Various theories of his brought reservations and objections from within the Roman Catholic Church and from the Jesuit order, of which he was a member. In 1962 the Holy Office issued a monitum, or simple warning, against uncritical acceptance of his ideas. His spiritual dedication, however, was not questioned.

From Encyclopædia Britannica

The Roman Catholic Church has a problem with mystics. If the mystic belongs to a monastic order, the rules of that order are considered sacrosanct, and all other ‘interests’ are secondary. Just ask St. Teresa of Ávila.

But you can’t hold a good man down, forever. Teilhard de Chardin’s writings were published after his death and we now recognize that his form of mysticism can only be described as a blending of Faith and Science.

His Birth Chart

deChardinPierreTeilhardWREJC1

The stellium of the Sun, Neptune and Venus in Taurus in the 12th House is the first indication of his love of the hidden mysteries of nature. The fact that Saturn and Jupiter are conjunct in the same sign (but the preceding 11th House) demonstrates that he is in touch with the Christ energy, as symbolized by Jesus (who had a similar conjunction in Pisces). And having Pluto in Taurus, also in the 12th House, means that what was hidden will be revealed.

The North Node is @ 20º Sagittarius. Now, since this is opposite the Ascendant conjunct Neptune for the Fall of Montsegur Castle, I can only surmise that he chose his career (Jesuit priest) in order to find the spiritual inner path that was exemplified by the Cathars. Was he atoning for his part in the Albigensian crusade?

Sagittarius North Node — Gemini South Node

The keyword here is promise. For lifetimes this individual has enmeshed himself in dualities, resulting in indecision. He has tried to be all things to all people and as a result has made himself attuned to superficiality.

Now he has strong karmic lessons to learn in areas of loyalty and allegiance. Eventually he will come to see that by playing both sides against the middle he can only hope to make himself the center of the sandwich, caught in the squeeze. Nevertheless he retains a past-life fear of committing himself fully to either side for at least on the superficial level, he sees truth and right in both. He still believes that a definite commitment to one side would leave him with the feeling of missing the opportunity inherent in the other.

This ability to remain uncommitted enables him constantly to adjust himself to fit the needs of the moment. Like the chameleon his colors change with his surroundings.

Sixth House North Node — Twelfth House South Node

This individual spends most of his time in deep thought. He likes to be left alone so that uninterrupted by others he can let his inner reflections sift through the karmic memories of all his past incarnations. This is not to say that he doesn’t like company, or that he’s even aware of what he’s doing. The fact is that he goes so deep as to become totally oblivious to anything he is thinking about! He loses himself in himself.

Always the conscious reason for going inward is based on logical intention, but the individual tends to reach the point where all logic eludes him. The Neptunian subtlety of the depths he reaches remains a mystery even to him!

Conclusion

Let’s let Teilhard de Chardin speak for himself.

Confession: Being Honest to God

james-5-16

No Need for a Priest?

Sometimes you have to go back to basics to get things right.

I was going to write about the Roman Catholic way of confessing your sins before God, but then I came across this quote (as shown above). Maybe we can confess our sins to one another… but will it be as effective?

Everyone thinks they’re being honest when they tell their secret sins to another person. But are they? Most of us are reluctant to show the world where we’ve messed up. Our egos can succeed in telling us ‘little lies’ that assuage our consciences. But deep down we know we’re just fooling ourselves, don’t we?

So Let’s Be Honest Here

To have a clear conscience is to feel a wholeness within one’s self and a oneness with life. That’s worth more than all the charities rich people support.

A good night’s sleep restores the body, and a clear conscience restores the soul.

No more nightmares to nag at your mind, and no more having to remember what lies you told, and to whom.

Every day then is a new start, the first day of the rest of your life.

What’s the Worst that Can Happen?

When your sins are on full display for others to see, there is a rush to judgment. For others, the knowledge that you’ve done something wrong and been caught is Cathartic. They get to feel justified, mainly because they haven’t been caught doing the same thing.

But the fallout is a catastrophe for the sinner. He (or she) must now hang their head in shame for the rest of their life. Or so we think…

In reality, the sinner knows that he (or she) has made a mistake and must pay the price, whatever that might be (time in prison, repayment of funds, service to the community).

But once the debt has been paid, and time then expunges the record, the individual is free, to live his life without regret and work towards becoming a better member of society.

But What About God?

What about God? God has already forgiven you, even before you confessed your sins. You’re the one holding on to the guilt, not God. That’s why confession is good for the soul because it is your soul that continues on living in God’s sight after this computer simulation has ended. If you think you’re condemned for all eternity, you will experience that [false] reality after death. Until you wake up to the fact that your reality is of your own making…

So, to ensure that you have cleared your consciousness of all error, share your story with another, and be, above all, honest with yourself.

Honest to God, you won’t regret it.

Who is the Doctor?

Doctor Who: Season 12

Who said the Doctor has to be a man?

The latest season opened last night on BBC One and BBC America. As usual it was full of farcical moments, and some ‘funny’ performances by the guest stars, Lenny Henry and Stephen Fry. They are both comedians, and yet they were playing their roles straight.

This is the second season with Jodie Whittaker at the controls of the TARDIS.

Does anyone object to the change of gender?

I’m not a Doctor Who fan, so my opinion is not biased. I enjoyed it.

This may be the best Doctor yet. What do you think?
