More “Fake News”?

trump_heh_ddc7997a222c1f9259c118ca5c29a546.nbcnews-fp-1200-800

Would I lie to you?

“For the record, I have no financial interests in Saudi Arabia (or Russia, for that matter). Any suggestion that I have is just more FAKE NEWS (of which there is plenty)!” (from a recent Trump tweet)

In yesterday’s newscast on CBS, Trump repeated this statement about having no financial interest in Saudi Arabia. The reason for his statement is the rumour that he is standing by the Kingdom, in spite of the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, because Trump has a vested interested in continuing to associate with them. That vested interest is obviously through his son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

(It reminds me of a criminal who claims that he didn’t do it, hiding behind the fact that his associate was the one who committed the crime. All one has to remember is who was pulling the strings, who was the boss.)

Trump’s addition of Russia in the tweet shows an unconscious need to confess his many ‘sins’. That, too, was perhaps not COLLUSION, per se, but a willingness to consult with the real ‘Enemy’ of the people for political gain.

“By their fruits, ye shall know them.” (Matthew 7:16)

Trump said it himself: this ‘is just more fake news…’

What Goes Around…

Comes Around Again

Instant Karma it’s called. Donald Trump coined the phrase “Crooked Hillary” during the 2016 Presidential Election. Why? Because she used a private email server while Secretary of State under Obama.

Now the shoe is on the other foot. Ivanka, his daughter, has been dong something similar while conducting government business.

Admittedly, this is probably a storm in a teacup. and it only came to light recently, but the “Enemy of the People” will make the most of it to embarrass the President.

The Dream is Real

inception_movie_poster_banner_03

Inception (2010)

Christopher Nolan is a special kind of filmmaker. As we saw in yesterday’s review, he isn’t afraid to tackle subject matter beyond this world. Outer space has long fascinated humans, but inner space is also unknown, and that’s why Nolan chose to go there.

Blowing Up our Misconceptions

Note the time clue given in this sequence: five minutes in the dream feels like an hour. (It’s the same under hypnosis.)

Losing a Grip on Reality

In this sequence, the Architect was told to build the dream world from imagination, not on the memory of an actual place. Otherwise, the result could be catastrophic.

A Dream Within a Dream Within a Dream…

What Nolan proposed in this story was that a person could be taken to deeper and deeper levels of consciousness through dream work. This is psychoanalysis at work.

The result is a lengthening of time so that, by the sixth or seventh level, a whole life could be lived in just a day.

The Plot

Dominick “Dom” Cobb and Arthur are “extractors”, who perform corporate espionage using an experimental military technology to infiltrate the subconscious of their targets and extract valuable information through a shared dream world. Their latest target, Japanese businessman Saito, reveals that he arranged their mission himself to test Cobb for a seemingly impossible job: planting an idea in a person’s subconscious, or “inception”. To break up the energy conglomerate of ailing competitor Maurice Fischer, Saito wants Cobb to convince Fischer’s son and heir, Robert, to dissolve his father’s company. In return, Saito promises to use his influence to clear Cobb of a murder charge, allowing Cobb to return home to his children. Cobb accepts the offer and assembles his team: Eames, a conman and identity forger; Yusuf, a chemist who concocts a powerful sedative for a stable “dream within a dream” strategy; and Ariadne, an architecture student tasked with designing the labyrinth of the dream landscapes, recruited with the help of Cobb’s father-in-law, Professor Stephen Miles. While dream-sharing with Cobb, Ariadne learns his subconscious houses an invasive projection of his late wife Mal. (Wikipedia)

The Subplot

Cobb wants to see his wife, Mal, alive again.

The Totem

A spinning top as a true/false device. If it continues to spin, Cobb is still in a dream. If it slows down and stops, he’s in the real world again.

The Ending Explained

If you really don’t want to know what happens in the end, don’t watch this video…

Conclusion

Life is but a dream.

“What Happens Now?”

Interstellar (2014)

I knew when I first saw this movie that I would return to it some day: today is that day.

As always, movies are open to individualized interpretation. This one is no different:

The US Space Force

As has been predicted by David Wilcock, the United States has been actively (and secretly) working on a way to move (some of) us to a new Earth. This movie seems to confirm that (Secret Space Program) scenario.

But, and I must always add a ‘but’, we do not yet have “proof” of this.

Back to the Beginning?

Christopher Nolan’s ending hints at our Garden of Eden story, as told through the science fiction lens. The ‘new’ Adam and the ‘new’ Eve are an astronaut and a scientist who will colonize a ‘new’ Earth.

Can this be true, or is it just wishful thinking?

Conclusion

Can we really leap forward in time? Will we conquer black holes and create interstellar travel? Does it even matter?

As the hero asks in the story, when it seems to be coming to an end,

“What happens now?”

Scandal at St. Mike’s

2017-06-01_11-27-11

St. Michael’s (Catholic) College, Toronto

In some ways, it was a story waiting to happen: media outlets inform the police that an indecent video is being shared on the internet. The incident happened at a Catholic boy’s private high school.

Why this should be so upsetting is that eight students have been expelled from school, and the local media have been camped outside the college trying to get further information from the school authorities and/or the parents. The parents are furious.

Oh, and the fact that the Toronto Police have been a presence at the school since Wednesday, because of some unstated threats to their school’s safe environment.

More ‘Boys Will Be Boys”?

Bullying is nothing new, especially at school. For years, incidents like this have gone unchallenged because it would be one person’s word against another’s. And gossip would be the medium by which news spread.

What is new is the technology that can record and disseminate the images through social media and cellphones. This two-edged sword can cut both ways: the victim is humiliated (as usual) and the perpetrator is caught (which is new).

These boys probably thought the broom handle lark would be fun to do, fun to record. Now they’re probably regretting ever dreaming it up (or thinking to imitate a scene from a movie). Their parents are also extremely embarrassed, and other students at the school are being bullied outside of school for attending there.

It has turned out to be in nobody’s favour.

Privilege

If you were rich (or lucky) enough to attend an English Public School like Eton, you would have had to endure this kind of abuse from your earliest days there. It was considered part of the way the hierarchy of higher society was ordered. After all, Prime Ministers and other government officials were chosen from amongst their alumni.

It was a ‘right of passage’.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t right. The upper social classes in Britain are full of very perverted individuals (in my opinion), mainly because they were subjected to these perversions.

Hence, the rumours for years and years about some very decidedly nasty goings-on with homosexuality being used as the way the Russians entrapped otherwise loyal English countrymen into spying on their own people.

Conclusion

If you want to lay blame (as most people do), blame society for admiring the ‘winners’ in life. The ‘losers’ always get forgotten, and nobody wants to be a forgotten one.

St. Mike’s has a reputation for sports excellence. Now that reputation is tarnished.

Will they recover from this scandal? Probably. All they have to do is wait for the next news cycle and then bury the evidence.

But will the victim be able to recover? Not likely. And that’s the real scandal.

Memory: Interrupted/Erased

Girl, Interrupted/Boy Erased

No, I’m not going to write about these two films. They are here to reference the title of today’s post. In fact, I have not seen either of them.

This post is about memory and how it can be altered.

Last night, I had a dream about a murder. This murder wasn’t the focus of the dream. The dream was actually about the photographic evidence about the murder and how it was altered.

The evidence was stored in a computer, with photographs of the scene of the murder in an exact sequence of time. In the middle of these photographs, one of the images was changed, which would have gone unnoticed in the dream, except for an anomaly. The original image was overlaid by the replacement image and the two images merged in a disjointed, misaligned frame.

The following picture is an example of the misalignment:

64c74debe6a694682b0b60f274170d63

Memory

In the symbolism of my dream, I know this one is really about memory. We have discussed such issues before: the Mandela Effect, for example. None of us are accurate recorders of history. What we think we remember is actually a figment of our imagination. We remember wrongly.

It’s not a huge step to Alzheimer’s, when we lose the thread of our thinking (and memories) completely.

But does that mean that these memories never happened? Of course not, but unless someone else experienced the events, too, the knowledge is gone.

History

What is written in history books is a consensus of information from the point of view of the winners. The losers get forgotten, or worse, purposely erased from recorded photographic evidence. Stalin was infamous for doing this to former comrades who had been subsequently ‘purged’:

stalin

This morning, a post on Facebook was shared by a friend of mine. This friend stated that this was the first she’d heard of the fact that The Great War (WWI) ended because the soldiers stopped fighting to return home, some to labour disputes, and some to overthrow their governments. I suspect that part of history was missed while watching the movie Dr. Zhivago.

Memory: Replaced

Maybe we think were are autonomous individuals. Think again. We are being brainwashed constantly. Just study TV advertisements, for example. And, as I have noted in other posts, the latest tactic is to get the viewing consumer to accept the idea(l) of diversity. If anything, this may be stoking the horrific backlash that is causing the deaths of so many ‘random’ victims in the States.

This leads me to the other point of the dream: the phrase “super T”. It came up at one point and when I woke in the night, I remembered it. At first I thought it should have been ‘superior’ or ‘superiority’, but by the morning I recognized it as ‘super authority’.

Super Authority

Most of us are quite aware that we don’t know everything. In fact, we probably don’t know very much of anything, if we’re being honest with ourselves. That is why we look to others for direction and confirmation.

When a person seeks to truly change him/her self, the work has to come from within. Even Hypnotherapy clients can resist suggestions, although the ensuing battle can cause more harm than good.

The only ‘true’ authority in our lives is that “still, small voice” that tells us what we should be doing. Most of us don’t listen to it. It’s called the Conscience.

Conclusion

Well, that was a long journey from the dream image through the 20th Century to present day. Did we gain any knowledge along the way? I hope so.

The world seems so messed up right now, but if you went back 100 years, people were saying the same thing then. It is a constant in life that we recognize that things aren’t right, but feel powerless to change anything.

Maybe we all just need to look at the (wo)man in the mirror. Bless.

2016 And All That

1066andallthat_1

1066 + 950 Years

I was reading an analysis of Donald Trump this morning and was impressed with the way the article was written. I immediately was reminded of this spoof history book published in 1930.

“It’s so easy to see the shape of what Trump wants in the ways that he lies and lies about what is—in the way he gooses crowd numbers, in the way he tells stories about strong men weeping at his feet in gratitude for all he’s done for this country, in the gap-intensive conspiracies and bizarre causal helixes that he invents to explain away his failures. What’s most striking about Trump’s lies, beyond their overwhelming volume and bombast, is how they reflect his own monomania. So Many Are Saying various things that somehow all wind up being about him; they’re Saying It More And More because there is nothing else and no one else that he could imagine anyone wanting to talk about. The metastasizing They that opposes him grows by the day, and cares about him every bit as much as he cares about himself. They will do, are always somewhere doing, whatever it takes to make him look like an idiot who f*cks up and lies constantly. Nothing, certainly not the lives of any number of strangers or whatever is left of any national ideal, is more important than the survival of his most obvious throwaway fantasy” (from “This is All Trump has Left”)

Maybe, just maybe, this is a way to explain how the Great American Public were conquered by a fool spouting that he was going to Make America Great Again.

If you want to read it for yourself, click on the Donald Trump link, above.

Maybe his “He’s a Good Man”, “They’re Bad People” sayings were meant for mockery. Lord knows, the Late Night TV Hosts are having a field day.

One day someone will write a mock history book called “2016 And All That”.

Last Night’s Dream: Bank Security

Bank

Safe

Two weeks ago, I had a similar dream for two nights in a row. The clock read 6:50 pm and I was concerned that we had gone into overtime. My initial thought was that it presaged returning to Standard Time when we put our clocks back by one hour. But that didn’t quite ‘feel’ right.

The change in time was the hint that this was really about a memory of being locked out of the bank safe after the time changed over a weekend. The safe works on a timer system, and when we calculate how long the safe must stay locked, we have to be accurate. One year (and this was the one and only time it happened to me), I failed to factor in the extra hour. That Monday, we were scrambling to get the tellers’ tills out at 10 am when the safe was finally opened. I’ve been mindful of time, ever since.

Content

Last night’s dream went on from this to a different context. The manager of the branch had decided that we have been negligent in making sure the safe’s contents were secure. So he devised a plan whereby it would be my nightly task to gather up all the tellers’ cash and carry the money home for safekeeping.

Now, even in my dream, I knew this was nonsense. But his concern was that we weren’t locking the safe and then the branch at night, and Head Office were on his back about it.

I could see that his changes would put the money in more peril of theft, just because it was exposed to the outside world. And the staff were intent on visiting me at home which I considered very suspicious since they hadn’t shown any interest before.

Security

This has so many implications in my real life, that I am left wondering if it’s a warning from Spirit. Am I leaving myself open to loss? Should I be more vigilant? What’s going to happen?

When I was adding the tags to this post, I chose “banking systems” for one. The tag after that one (that the computer suggested) was “bankruptcy”. Is this the message?

Conclusion

We might not believe this to be possible, but our subconscious mind is totally aware of what is happening in our lives. Our ego thinks it knows what’s best for us. Our ego leads us into disasters so it can say, “I told you so.”

My higher self just wants me to keep Safe and Secure.
