Soul Group or Group Soul?

Michael Newton: Life Between Lives (2004)

When I first became a hypnotherapist in the late 1980’s, I was familiar with the concept of reincarnation. I had also experienced a series of ‘former’ lives under hypnotic regression in the early part of that same decade.

But it wasn’t until I read Michael Newton’s books, Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls that I began to understand how we organize our next lives with the help of individuals from our soul groups. These individuals could be compared with a troupe of actors who travel through time together playing different roles on various world stages: a band of friends (and enemies). But note the term actor. They are not really anything more than someone’s companions through their dramas of karma.

All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.
.

Group Soul

soul-cosmology1

As you may have noticed in some of my previous posts, I am a fan of Jane Roberts’ Seth. And one of my favourite books is The Education of Oversoul Seven. A couple of days ago, I saw this quote on Facebook, and suddenly the penny dropped…

“One of the egos that was mine, you see, is a part of Ruburt’s whole personality, and we use this as a bridgework.”

The Early Sessions, Book 6
Session 256, Page 140

That quote explains how Seth and Ruburt (Jane Roberts) were able to connect, and communicate, on a psychic level. It also was my a-ha moment for coming to grips with the recent interactions I’ve been having with a certain individual and her ‘present’ incarnation.

I’m not going to turn the concept of reincarnation on its head, but I am going to explain how an alternative theory may be more practical for our understanding.

Oversoul Seven grimaced at Cyprus and began the examination. “Let’s see,” he said. “In Earth terms, using an analogy, I’m a man on Wednesday and Friday, a woman on Sunday and Thursday, and I have the rest of the time off for independent study.

“Actually, because of their time concepts this is somewhat more complicated,” he said. “Each life is lived in a different, uh, area of time to which various designations are given.”

Cyprus smiled, and Seven continued. “As Lydia I’m in the twentieth century, as Josef in the seventeenth, as Ma-ah in 35,000 B.C., and as Proteus in the 23rd century, A.D…”

[Roberts, Jane. The Oversoul Seven Trilogy: The Education of Oversoul Seven, The Further Education of Oversoul Seven, Oversoul Seven and the Museum of Time (Roberts, Jane) (Jane Roberts Seth Books) (Kindle Locations 174-179). Amber-Allen Publishing, Inc.. Kindle Edition.]

These are the first words from the first book that makes up The Oversoul Seven Trilogy. They form the very first concepts as presented by the stories themselves. It made sense when I read the first book, way back when, but life has a way of jumbling things up and obscuring the initial clarity.

Now, face-to-face with the idea of whether reincarnation is a fact, or not, I’m willing to say, like Seven, that ‘this is somewhat more complicated’ than that.

In much the same way that a birth chart can be read in three ways (personality, timing of events and past lifetimes), the idea that a soul can represent three connected, but separated, endeavours should be easily understood:

1) the personality (in the present);

2) the oversoul (in any time frame); and

3) the higher self (in all time).

Conclusion

The overarching reality of reincarnation (as viewed through the lens of the soul’s cosmology) is that any healing work that we do in the present impacts all of our lives throughout history. In other words, if you heal yourself (and your situation) in the NOW, you heal every aspect of yourself in the past, and the future.

There really is only NOW.

Confiding in a Stranger

70557442_2721091991268892_1815678170045612032_n

It happens like this…

You’re standing in a queue and the person standing in front of you, suddenly turns around and says something/anything to you. You start a conversation with them, and before you know it, you’re telling them your life story.

Why do we do this?

Everyone Has a Story to Tell

It’s true! Everyone needs to share how the journey has been, so far.

That’s why some people become therapists, analysts and ministers. They want to help people share the load.

But there are pitfalls:

5b23becdac7a78dfb45469f5e0e429ac

An example of this may even involve falling in love with a ‘father’ or ‘mother’ figure (someone who represents the nurturing and caring nature of a missing parent). It’s totally natural.

But the other person has to be aware that it’s happening to avoid being caught up in the first person’s fantasy world. Like the joint Cathar memory from Arthur Guirdham’s book, We Are One Another.

Confession is Good for the Soul

We need to tell someone else what’s been going on. That’s why the Roman Catholic Church instituted the act of confession. By telling your priest your sins, you clear the memory banks of obsessional thoughts, and become newly liberated from the weight of guilt. Unfortunately, it doesn’t end there, but at least you get a chance to start again with a clean slate.

The joke that Protestants like to tell is that the Pope must be a Protestant because he confesses his sins directly to God. But it’s likely that the Pope has a designated Father Confessor, too.

Conclusion

We are all in this together. I write this often, don’t I? No one need be totally alone in this world. Share your story. Tell your truth. And be grateful for the chance to confide in a stranger.

Win the Battle, Lose the War

tumblr_obazzy5jfL1rnl2v3_og_500

Pyrrhic Victory

The Battle of Asculum [5] took place in 279 BC between the Roman Republic under the command of the consuls Publius Decius Mus and Publius Sulpicius Saverrio and the forces of king Pyrrhus of Epirus. (Wikipedia)

It is this battle that is referred to whenever anyone states the title of this post.

(And you know that one of my favourite themes is that if we do not learn from the past, we will continue to make the same mistakes in the future…)

In a series of emails recently, I had a gentle disagreement with someone about writing a book together. Well, I thought it was gentle, the other person did not, obviously. The email I got in return was full of insults and innuendo. Then I was told not to write to this person, ever again. (And, true to form, I got two more emails casting dispersion on my relationship with my wife.) I did not respond.

Did the person feel justified to do this, just because I chose not to participate? Obviously, the frustration of not getting one’s way was too much to bear.

So, to demonstrate that this is a long running battle for supremacy between the males and the females of the species, let me share one more picture. This may put the cat amongst the pigeons, as it were.

And to demonstrate how synchronicity works: this BBC report, published the next day.

Reincarnation: Why Can’t We Remember?

quote-hell-is-a-state-of-mind-ye-never-said-a-truer-word-and-every-state-of-mind-left-to-itself-c-s-lewis-107-30-93

Hell is a State of Mind

Imagine, if you will, being born back into the world after a violent death in your previous life. If it had been an accident, you probably blamed yourself for your misstep. But what if you’d been murdered?

With the reports of so many killings going on in the world these days, as well as so many natural disasters due to fire, floods, hurricanes and such like, is it any wonder that the blessing of a new life would be better if you couldn’t remember your personal past life?

For those who are unlucky enough to know who they were and the circumstances of their death, life is a living hell. Anyway, no one believes them when they try to share their knowledge with the world, and the biggest obstacle to fully healing their past is themselves.

So be careful what you ask for, you just might get it…

“I’d Rather Be Dead in a Ditch”

borisjohnsonafp-m

Boris Johnson

I know that I’ve said this many times before, but, be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

When asked, yesterday, about requesting a further delay of Brexit of three more months, Johnson uttered the above-noted quotation. Oops.

JohnsonBorisWREJC1

Often, when I research the birth details of a public figure, I have to rely upon others. In this case, the accuracy of the timing of Johnson’s birth seems to be fairly spot-on. How do I know? The placement of Jupiter.

According to A.T. Mann’s concept of Life*Time Astrology, Jupiter would come into play around Johnson’s 50th birthday. The significance of Jupiter could be summed up in the words of Nicholas deVore in his book Encyclopedia of Astrology:

Expansion and growth, and their expression in terms of material wealth; occupations, persons and places associated with religion, law, and education; public functions and assemblies of a state or official character; charitable and philanthropic movements and institutions; social gatherings, theatres and clothing.

It was around the time of his 50th birthday that Johnson decided to lead the Brexit charge to leave the European Union.

Boris Johnson became Prime Minister of the United Kingdom just after his 55th birthday.

As listing of birth times used to be to the nearest hour, I would surmise that Johnson was born about 30 minutes or so before 2:00 pm. But, for our purposes, this chart is as accurate as we need at the present. There is only one inconjunct in his chart, but it’s a doozy.

Moon Inconjunct Mars

(Text from Robert Hand’s Planets in Youth)

Until you learn to handle your feelings, you are likely to get angry easily, have temper tantrums and be touchy about what is yours and what is not. You may feel you have to defend yourself against imagined threats. The problem here is that you are likely to become too emotionally involved with ideas, opinions or even objects without knowing it until someone threatens them. Then you react as if you were being personally threatened or attacked. You have to realize that it is possible to change your opinions and attitudes without damaging your worth as a person.

Your relationship with your mother is especially important. If you and she don’t get along in some important way, you will have similar problems with other women when you get older. You are likely to be very aggressive and unpleasant when you are emotionally upset.

However, if you have a good relationship with your mother, you will develop self-confidence and the ability to stand up for your rights against any obstacle. You will be courageous, and your strength will inspire others to follow where you lead. You will be independent and able to go your own way, even if others do not choose to follow. But this will happen only if you have healthy emotional experiences as a child.

Mars, the planet signifying ‘accidental death’, occurs sometime after Johnson’s 60th birthday. You read it here first.

Hong Kong: Too Little, Too Late?

carrielam

Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of Hong Kong

It isn’t hard to imagine that Beijing is pulling the strings of their puppet in Hong Kong. But it gets a little bit troubling that a British/Chinese agreement that was supposed to run until 2047 looks likely to be set aside much, much earlier.

Yesterday, we heard that Carrie Lam announced the withdrawal of the extradition law which would have seen Hong Kong criminals tried in China. This concession was a step too far when these protests began in June. So why now?

The 70th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China is to be celebrated on October 1st.

The ‘powers that be’ in China want the violence and unrest in Hong Kong to die down by that date. If this concession doesn’t do the trick, Hong Kong will be ‘inviting’ the Chinese military machine presently parked on its border with China to help them restore law and order (for the protection of its citizens). It’s a perfect solution…

But the pro-democracy protestors of Hong Kong won’t take this lying down. After all, the whole world is watching.

Are these actions the death throes of democracy on the world stage?

Character Eyes

Coroner-S1_Place

Coroner

This is the latest CBC show (now in summer repeats) that features a strong female lead character. Her eyes are like reflective pools of light, and when she’s on screen, everything else fades out of focus. Serinda Swan plays the role of Dr. Jenny Cooper to quiet perfection. I shall be watching this program as the series unfolds.

Fountain International Magazine

FEBRUARY-2014-FC1

Magazine Cover from December 2014

When Fountain International was first formed, they offered a magazine every four months for a small annual subscription. You didn’t have to ‘belong’ to Fountain, since there was no ‘membership’ as such. The magazine subscription list was the closest indication of how many were participating in “A Few Moments of Your Time Each Day” meditation work.

The address and phone number no longer apply

I had the honour of working on a few of these magazines in the early 90’s. But at some point, the impulse to produce the three-times-a-year publication fizzled out.

Suzanne Thomas has been working on the front lines, and behind the scene, for Fountain for a great many years. Her part of the story is contained in Who’d Have Thought It. She is an unsung heroine. She has quietly been republishing Colin Bloy’s writings to keep his work in front of the eyes of the world.

The latest Colin Bloy book she’s produced is I’m Just Going Down to the Pub to Do a Few Miracles. It’s a faithful reproduction of his original book from the early 90’s.

Fountain International E-Zine

E-ZineFountainInt'lWREJC1

When Suzanne and I got back in touch after a number of years, she mentioned that she’d relaunched the magazine in an on-line format. She suggested at the time that I do a chart for the relaunch. I must have been busy at the time, because I let the impulse slide.

Now, with my recent activity involving one of Colin’s past lives, I thought that perhaps the time had come to see what energies were in play at the time.

These days I’m concentrating on Inconjuncts. This chart has two:

Mercury Inconjunct Uranus

Your mind moves quickly from topic to topic, often without pausing long enough for you to understand what you have learned. And if there is a lot of excitement or activity around you, your mind may race so fast to keep up with it all that you work yourself into a state of nervous frenzy. Under these circumstances it is almost impossible for you to concentrate or do any useful work.

As you get older, you will have to learn to discipline your mind so that you can think things through. It’s all right to be somewhat restless, but you must learn to stay put during school and at other times when it is important to concentrate.

On the other hand, you are quite inventive. You can see solutions to problems quicker than most, and you may be good at designing. Model building and other activities that develop your design sense and ability to see in three dimensions would be very useful. Also these exercises would help you learn to concentrate. In school you may excel at mathematics and science, as long as you can learn to sit still long enough to learn the subject.

This aspect might mean that you have nervous problems, such as a tendency to get exhausted or a sensitive disposition that requires a very calm environment in order to prevent further problems. In any case, your parents should keep you away from situations that will make you overexcited.

Mars Inconjunct Ascendant

The difficulty with this aspect is to find a balance between getting what you want in life and getting along with others. More than most people, you will have to learn the necessity of compromising to get along with people, especially because you often seem more aggressive than you are. While you are young, the need to compromise may be frustrating, because youth is a time when your own needs seem especially urgent and demanding. At times you may feel that nothing is going your way, that you continually have to give in to others and put your own wishes aside. However, it is not really this bad. You do not actually have to compromise any more than anyone else, but you are more reluctant to do so.

Learn to work for the good of others by making their objectives your objectives, whenever possible. This aspect can signify the ability to accomplish a great deal, as long as you do not spend all your time and energy feeling angry or resentful about seemingly undeserved defeats. When you have a real goal to work toward that you can share with others, you will be able to attain that goal.

Pluto in the Chart

I see that Pluto is in the First House. This gives the chart a certain dynamic that is unmistakable and significant.

Pluto in the First House

You are a very intense person who takes almost everything seriously. If an activity isn’t important enough to warrant throwing your whole self into, you feel it isn’t worth doing. You tend to go to extremes, which may make other people uneasy. You have to understand that others are afraid of experiences that you find interesting…

Conclusion

Please understand that these descriptions above are not discussing an individual, as in a person or thing, but a process that requires the production of a 36-40 page magazine every three months. It’s a lot of work, and the work is important, so Suzanne actually has no real time to do much else, except work on the Magazine and the Monthly Newsletter.

And Suzanne finances the whole enterprise. So donations would be gratefully received at Fountain International Magazine.

Is This Person Another Past Life?

40d365e89feb152d99594ba2f7cc1d4f

Rudolf Steiner (1861 – 1925)

Probably not. But our common spiritual heritage might be Christian Rosencreutz, at least at the astral level.

This link can be seen in comparing our birth charts:

SteinerRudolphWREJC1

SteinerRudolphWBAGE2

Do you see that conjunction between my Moon in Scorpio and Rudolf’s Ascendant? That’s the Christian Rosencreutz energy.

But we have a couple of other conjunctions which imply something very deep. For example, Rudolf’s Moon and my Saturn are almost exact, his Jupiter and my Pluto are within 3º and his Venus is halfway between my Jupiter and my Sun. This is not a casual association.

But here’s the thing that’s interesting: whereas there should be a physical similarity in appearance, this is only evident at about age 18. And to be honest, the adult Rudolf looks more like my best friend from high school, Terry Henry (the person in the middle of the trio at the table: Glenn Godfrey, Terry Henry and myself, early 2008).

1929252_47831597351_5717_n

Because the three of us didn’t see eye-to-eye this time around, it has always made me feel like I was the odd man out, because of my spiritual beliefs. So the irony would be extreme if Terry were Rudolf reincarnated.

The Mission of Christian Rosencreutz

Steiner gave a series of lectures about Christian Rosencreutz’ mission which are reproduced in English in this book, Esoteric Christianity.

There is a phrase he used quite a few times in one of the lectures: ‘this point in time’. Now where have we heard that phrase before? Oh, right, on this blog site. I called my book about historical astrology At This Point in Time. Interesting echo, don’t you think?

Conclusion

In one of my past lives, represented by Jupiter in my chart, the timing is 1881. At the time of writing “As Above, So Below” I noted that the year was when Rudolf Steiner quit school without a degree. Sounds a bit like me, in this lifetime.

But am I Rudolf Steiner reincarnated? Probably not.

Have You Been Listening?

now red word and clock

Self-kNOWledge

If you’ve been paying attention to what I’ve been ‘saying’ for such a long time now, you will have grasped a very subtle point that I’ve been trying to make.

There really is no ‘past’ and there is no ‘future’. Time is a human construct to interpret why everything doesn’t happen all at once, and for all eternity. It was based entirely on observing the apparent motion of the planets in our solar system against the background of the visible stars. In other words, Astrology.

World_line

The Intersection of Time and Space

We are a species of Observers. Most of the ‘time’ we don’t make ‘space’ in our minds to think of ourselves this way. We think we’re participants, in control of our destinies. But the key to being that is knowing our ‘selves’.

There is a theory that a healing that takes place in the present completely heals our past lives and our future being. There is no need to wait until we’re dead, since death is a complete fiction, told to us to keep us in line. We never truly die: we live forever.

Here’s a video from A.T. Mann which explains his concept of Life*Time Astrology:

This is the same concept I’ve been using to interpret and ‘confirm’ past lives.

In his terms, our birth chart is a ‘slice of time in space’. Others have called it our cosmic fingerprint. I like that. But our time, here on earth, seems limited. That could just be our misconception of the Universe.

Our Solar System is a Closed System

1 G0G4oCnVt-qepOPPMjcsAA

Our ‘rocket’ scientists and astrophysicists think that we can conquer space and move to another Earth-like planet beyond our solar system. What a waste of time and resources!

We were not intended to do that. Do you think the biblical story of the Garden of Eden is just a fairy tale? Think again…

The angel with the flaming sword guarding the entrance to Paradise is a metaphor for a spiritual journey undertaken to discover one’s true being. The Refiner’s Fire will be used to separate the wheat from the chaff. It also serves as a warning that those who enter in will never be the same again.

The journey is to the Inner Spaces, not outer space. Can that be any clearer?
